⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Strip House – Downtown NYC Listen… the food? OUTSTANDING. The service? 10/10. The ambience? Perfect as always. Their barrel-cured Old Fashioned? A spiritual experience. My whole table went in ready to destroy some steaks — and yes, the steaks were exceptional. But me? I walked in with one mission in life: the coconut shrimp. And guess what? Someone at corporate took it off the menu until spring. SPRING. 😩 I’m laughing while writing this, but please understand — I dragged people there because all day I was dreaming about those coconut shrimp. I left with what we call in Spanish “ganas”… like that feeling when you leave a situation emotionally unfinished. 😂 Thank God dessert was on fire — literally. The Boston Foster Baked Alaska was a show. And that tarragon chicken? I’m still thinking about it today. But Strip House… seriously… What are we doing? Am I getting a special invite to come back for the coconut shrimp or what? 😅 Five stars all the way — but I NEED my do-over make it happen.

We came to Strip House Steakhouse to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it was perfect. He’s a big fan of the tomahawk cut, and it did not disappoint; cooked to perfection, beautifully seasoned, and full of flavor. The atmosphere was classic and intimate, making it feel like a true special occasion. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and they made the night feel extra celebratory. A memorable experience from start to finish. Highly recommend for steak lovers and special nights out in NYC!

5 Stars just not enough for Strip House Steak. We love every moment of our dinner. Dining room was packed as expected because of the Holidays. Our team of servers here are super in sync, fast, and on the fly but we never feel rushed! All of our steaks were cooked to perfection. Please try Medium rare + temp..! It's their special cook temperature. I can go on and on about this place but one thing for Sure is we will be back soon ! Thank you Laura (our server 👍) she was always around when we needed to reload our cocktails 😁.

I went there on my birthday because i wanted to try their Signature 24 layer chocolate cake. STRIP HOUSE chef/ baker understood the assignment. That cake was deliciously soft, moist, and not too sweet. I loved it 😍. We enjoyed our time and the food was delicious. The staff was nice and helpful. We were a table of 3, but my friends decided to surprise me, they pulled up. However, the waiter helped us to get 3 more chairs for my friends and fixed the table for 6. The roasted bacon and steak were perfectly cooked. I don't remember the name of my drinks but they were good😋. The only thing i didn't like was the noise, but it was understandable because they were very busy that night. For fancy dates, i will definitely go back. P.S: Dont expect parking spot. You are in the middle of the city ✌🏽

Had an incredible experience at this steakhouse! The food was absolutely amazing – every bite was packed with flavor, and the steaks were cooked to perfection. The atmosphere added so much to the meal, with super cool vibes that made it a perfect spot for a night out. Friendly, attentive staff really elevated the experience. Highly recommend if you're looking for top-notch steak and a great ambiance! Will definitely be back!

Truly a 5 star experience, we all thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The service was top notch, and the staff were friendly, personable, and professional. We felt very welcome there. The steaks were devine, and the side dishes were delicious. We even had the world-famous 24 layer chocolate cake featured by the Food Network. (You should Google it and watch one of the videos. It tastes as good as it looks and not too sweet). We will definitely be back and I recommend you try this restaurant as well. It's very cozy with great ambience. I wouldn't bring kids but come with friends for a great meal.

Visited for restaurant week dinner and I was very much pleasantly surprised, because this is probably one of the best meals that I've had in such a long time! Pros: -Very nice, welcoming host upon arrival & coat check. -Food and drinks arrived fairly quickly upon ordering. -All dishes were for the most part delicious and very generous in portion size-even the bread basket was great (my fave was the pretzel bread). I had the Mushroom Gnocchi (well seasoned, loved the garlic punch), Chicken Paillard (delicious, no notes), and Chocolate Cake (super decadent, I had left overs for 2 days lol). -Servers/Bussers working the floor were all super pleasant, attentive and helpful. Cons: -Our waiter Keith left much to be desired. He was somewhat dismissive and barely looked at you in the face when speaking, it was bizarre. He also seemed annoyed when we advised we wanted to partake in restaurant week menu (even though most tables around us were) and he didnt even give us that menu, we had to look it up on our phones. Maybe just an off day but he perked up immediately when it was bill/tip time. -The blood orange Cosmo while tasty was pretty sweet and didnt pack a punch like cosmos normally do. -The goose fat potatoes were underwhelming- they tasted like a very simple hashbrown. -Tight seating and the ladies dining at the table to our right were way over their limit but at least they were funny! Overall great experience and would return. Even with rest week menu, with drinks, tax, tip our bill for two was $235. So anticipate to spend here but its very much worth it.

Strip House Steakhouse is a sultry, vintage-style spot known for prime cuts and that unforgettable 24-layer chocolate cake 🍰 that has become a must-order dessert I got the New York Strip ($75) and Filet Mignon ($79) which were beautifully seared, and paired perfectly with the black truffle creamed spinach ($19) 🍄‍🟫 truffle really hit the spot as it was so flavorful 🫶🏻 The steak is honestly not the best I have had in the city. Filet mignon is very chewy. New York strip is tender but only for our first few bites 🥩 We ended the night with the 24-layer chocolate cake which is ginormous ✨ it is really densed, creamy smooth, and lives up the hype. Not the cheapest, but absolutely a treat if you are into classic steakhouse decadence with a dessert to remember.

Been dining at this location since 2001. Not at the top of their game anymore but still very good. A very solid dining experience especially for Christmas day. Regrettably, I belive Landry is the third ownership group. As far as the bunch of mediocre restaurants in the Landry group go, this establishment is at the top. Steaks were very good, sides were also very good. The desserts still maintain their swagger. Service was good, not great, but good. The decor has not changed since the opening of their doors and can certainly benefit from some "refreshing". My biggest complaint is that the glassware is/was not up to standard. Ordered a Negroni and the glass was chipped. Especially disappointing was the chipped wine decanter. Definately not a good look for a modestly priced bottle of wine. Been dining here so long, will absolutely give it another try. When your bar bill is 30% of your total bill for a party of 5 and at the pricing point, you would expect an adequate glassware budget.

The ribeye with the black pepper crust was outstanding. The Gnocchi "Carbonara" was one of the best sides I have had at a steakhouse. The margarita was great too. The reddish lighting and atmosphere was definitely an old school touch that I liked. The service was definitely great. The 27 layer chocolate cake tastes like a much better version of an entenmann's chocolate fudge iced cake. Over all a great experience I would recommend.

Heard a lot about this being a NY institution, and while the walls were adorned with black and white pictures, and the lights were an iconic red, the emptiness of the dinner room with broken AC made for a slightly lackluster atmosphere. Food was very good though, including classic steakhouse dishes done well. Service was friendly and helpful as well, and I appreciated the complimentary champagne to make up for the AC situation. May try it again.

Had high expectations for Strip House but left disappointed. We had an 8:30pm reservation and weren’t seated until 9:00pm. The tables are extremely close together — to the point where you’re essentially sharing a table and fully involved in neighboring conversations, which took away from the experience. Appetizers and salads were very good, which initially gave us hope. Unfortunately, the main course fell short. We ordered the 60oz tomahawk special and it was severely undercooked. The goose fat potatoes and kung pao Brussels sprouts were also underwhelming. After the steak was delivered, our server never came back to check on the food, which was disappointing, especially given the condition of the steak. For the price and reputation, the overall experience did not meet expectations.

If you want good food and service, would not recommend. If you’re looking for good ambience then this location is fine. I personally did not enjoy the Downtown NYC Strip House. I came here to celebrate my birthday and was unfortunately disappointed. Service was slow, which is fine since they’re busy and understaffed, but it wasn’t nice either. It was sadly obvious that our main waitress was being extremely attentive towards one table and not so much with others. They didn’t even seem that friendly to her—the notable difference is that they looked wealthy. She brought out their food personally, while we and other tables were mostly tended to by other staff who are tasked with the plates and cleaning (they were not very nice). I understand this choice given the tip system but regardless, I prefer restaurants with less differential treatment. As for the food, the flavors were not that great. For its price point I was disappointed and I’ve definitely had better steak elsewhere. We ordered the dry aged NY Strip. The meat itself was good but the seasoning was lackluster across the board, including for the sides and appetizer. If you are used to good, bold flavors then the food here may be a bland surprise. Maybe our order was wrong and we should’ve gotten one of the extra crust choices? Ambience was great—nice music and surrounding chatter plus the decor was beautiful. Loved the lighting. Just docked a star because it was about 80 degrees in there and I had to constantly fan myself even though I tend to run cold. Could be that their AC happened to be broken or they operate in the European style. TLDR; if you have a lot of money to spend (and look like it) and don’t love strong flavors then this place is for you. Otherwise I’d look elsewhere. Would give 2.5 stars if I could.

I chose Strip House (Downtown location) to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday based on all the glowing reviews about the food. Unfortunately, we walked away pretty disappointed. We started with the crab cake appetizer – I actually liked it. It was different, with a crunchy texture, but not horrible. My girlfriend didn’t enjoy it at all. For mains, we ordered the dry-aged New York strip and the bone-in ribeye (with garlic butter). Both were cooked well, but that’s where the praise stops. The strip lacked seasoning, and while I usually love a great sear, both steaks had a burnt taste that was hard to ignore. Mac and cheese was a total miss – we genuinely hated it and ended up sending it back. The creamed spinach didn’t hit the mark either; definitely not the best version I’ve had. Broccoli was just fair – nothing memorable. Starter bread was actually good, but their steak sauce was really off-putting — it had a strange, overly sweet and tangy flavor that reminded me more of marinara or cocktail sauce than something that should complement steak. The space is also extremely tight — which is expected to some degree in NYC, but it felt especially cramped for a fine dining spot. The only real highlight of the night was the service – our server was attentive and kind, which I appreciated. Overall, I really wanted to love this place, but the food didn’t come close to matching the hype. For the price point and reputation, I expected a lot more.

It was our first time going to a steakhouse so we weren’t sure how a medium rare steak looked so we ate a few pieces but started to question was this normal. We asked the manager and they said it was but sent it back to the kitchen for us as we wanted it more cooked, which we really much appreciated. But we found it weird because it wasn’t just us who sent our steak back. The table next to us sent it back because theirs were also red. The service was good but I wouldn’t recommend it because of how they cook their steak and how much you spend for a piece of uncooked steak.
