Reliably good! The appetizers are amazing — the feta filo is one of my favorite appetizers in the city, the pita bread is so fresh and tasty, and the zucchini balls are also excellent.

OMG I was not expecting this quality of Mediterranean food outside of Greece! My wife and I decided we wanted something light after spending multiple days in NYC. We have been to Greece so there's always that wish that we will find a place in the states that comes close to the quality of authentic Greek food here in the US. I think we found it! We came early in the morning and could not have been more pleased with the food. Our dishes were fantastic, the service was impeccable, and the ambiance was so nice. Sadly, we live in California but if we ever come back to NYC, we are making a b-line to Village Taverna for a great time ☺️

Iv been to this restaurant 4 times and every time food was delicious. Lady night we ordered grilled octopus, village salad (which had grilled soft cheese in it - never had it before and it was surprisingly good, it tasted like halumi but was soft almost like ricotta), lamb chops and chocolate cake. In the past Iv also had whole fish, grape leaves, chicken from the grill, and different salads. Everything was amazing! We got to the restaurant at 6pm and place was super busy already, by the time we were leaving it was PACKED and had line for table (which is avoid sign for Monday night). And one more thing - I really like service here, happened to have same server for last couple times and he is very confident about food and drink recommendations and very friendly.

The mezzes were especially good. Favourite was the garlic spread. Not a whole lot of vegetarian or vegan options. The eggplant moussaka was just ok wasn't super flavorful. The lemon potatoes on the entrees were very well done. Service was great and super attentive to dietary restriction so greatly appreciated that.

We want to this restaurant for my birthday and it was so good ! The food is great ! (Real Greek food!!) and so tasty for the price ! Great place to share appetizers with a group ! Also the people who work there are so nice! Great service. I will come back for sure to try other dishes !!

Amazing food and very nice decor. We sat outside and we got amazed with the beauty of the place. The flavor was unique and very memorable. I can’t wait to go back and try some more dishes. The Saganaki was the best one for me ever!

Dined here on a Thursday evening in mid-March with three others. I made the 7:30 indoor reservation about a week in a half in advance with limited availability. I have dined at this restaurant several times before. The food is always delicious, served with large portions, and the service is always just ok. The gyro platters are delicious and the dolmades are really a must. I do not regularly dine outdoor but especially wouldn't here as there is a lot of foot traffic (some probably wouldn't mind this, but I find it annoying). They also serve a plate of warm pita and olive oil for each table at dinner (I'm not sure if they do for other times of the day). The restaurant isn't cheap but the food is good and the portions are large. There are also very few vegetarian options. The menu has probably been the same for 15 years but they do offer different special entrees with dinner. The night we dined there, I had the special entree with Grouper and lemon potatoes. I would dine here gain and I would recommend.

I've eaten here 3 times over the past year, it's a nice place - large restaurant and plenty of seats. Wide choice of food and the portions are big! lamb and chicken good, dont over order unless you want some for tomorrow. There is outside seating too.

Service was insanely slow but our waiter once he was assigned was the man. Got off-menu organic chicken which was boneless / crispy and came with a great veggie spread. Cleaned the plate lol. My friend got the chicken gyro which was a massive portion (good value). House bread was fine.

This place is great. Large portions, upbeat environment and an all around fun time. I ordered the gyro platter which was really, really good. In fact, the portions were enough for two people to share. If you enjoy Greek food, then you should check this place out.

THE EXPLORER

Group of four went for Sat night dinner. It was recommended by a friend who said it was lively, decent food and reasonable prices. She was right on all accounts. We shared chopped salad (excellent and large), fried calamari ( delicious and large portion), shrimp souvlaki ( very tasty) and Lavraki- Mediterranean sea bass ( over cooked and not too tasty). We also shared a bottle of Pinot Grigio which was good but a bit overpriced. Overall a very nice experience.

Really lovely place to eat. We’ve been a few times and really enjoyed the casual fare and spacious, bright environment. The food is fresh. Waiters were very attentive but not hovering. Always had extras to take home which my kids love. We will return!

Average food in a nice spacious restaurant. I’ve been here twice, once I dined inside and once outside. The waiters are friendly, attentive, and fast. The restaurant vibes are also great with an extensive menu at decent prices. However, with all of the delicious food in NYC, I don’t know if I’d recommend this place unless you’re in a rush. The food came out immediately after we ordered, like within 5 minutes, which gave us the impression it’s been sitting around. The gyro meat was very dry both times I’ve tried it. The Mousaka was good but didn’t have much flavor. The pita was also dry.

They sat us at the bar, we ordered dinner, finished dinner. They brought the check and said they’ll need the bar seats for reservations. We were given total of 50 minutes even if we ordered dinner. The staff is rude, unorganized, asking customers to leave as they bite their last piece from the dinner. What a fiasco! They serve good Turkish babaganoush and chicken skewers though.
