LaPeer Steak & Seafood in Alpharetta absolutely delivered. We started with the raw bar and lobster salad, and everything was fresh, clean, and beautifully presented. The oysters were ice cold and briny in the best way. The lobster was dressed perfectly, not drowning in sauce, just enough to highlight the flavor. The pasta with clams was a sleeper hit. Creamy but not heavy, balanced heat from the chilis, and the clams were cooked right. No rubber. That matters. The steak was the star. Cooked properly, rich crust, finished with a generous topping that pushed it into steakhouse luxury territory. The sauce pooling on the plate was begging for bread. The roasted onion on the side was a nice touch. Atmosphere feels upscale without being stiff. It’s a great spot for date night, business dinner, or just treating yourself. If you’re in Alpharetta and want legit steak and seafood without driving into Atlanta, this place holds its own. Would absolutely go back.
The food here is GREAT!!! Best Calamri I've ever had anywhere! And with the options of 3 oz lobster or buttered crab on your steak which I chose (the latter) you can go wrong either way. GREAT chocolate 🎂 also....for your dessert choice
Loved this place! We had heard it was good but it’s beautiful inside and the food was delicious! We got the calamari to start and the flavors were unique and paired so well together. I got the seafood pasta and it was so good and my husband got the burger and he raved about it. I loved the espresso martini! It has a frozen whipped top that made it extra special. We will definitely be back! Perfect for date night or birthday
We had an amazing experience here for a dinner date night. The ambiance was absolutely beautiful. Lauren, the general manager, went above and beyond by seating us at our table and checking in multiple times throughout the evening. The shrimp toast recommended by our fantastic server, Lexi, is to die for. I’m still thinking about this starter weeks later. My husband also got the oysters not pictured and said they were perfect. The demonico ribeye was cooked beautifully and paired well with the roasted garlic and roasted mushrooms. And you can’t skip out on the baked shells and cheese. We got the chocolate cake to go and I imagine it was delicious considering my husband finished it before I could try a bite! I would definitely recommend going here if you are interested in a nice ambiance steak or seafood meal. The staff is incredible!
Always 10/10! This is our go to place for an excellent steak and a nice date night. We usually both get a ribeye (plenty of leftovers for the next day). We get it topped with one of their butters (our fav is the truffle butter). I also love their shells and cheese and you can’t forget their delicious shoe string fries. We got their chocolate cake this last time and it will now be added to our usual order because it was amazing.
10/10 !!! My husband and I frequent here for an early date night because they have a great happy hour menu. (I won't share the details because, yes I am gatekeeping...lol)
My lasting impression I'll take away from our first experience at Lapeer is 5-star service one would expect from a high-end restaurant. Our server, Amanda, was knowledgeable, attentive, & personable. We were able to take advantage of the $2 oyster Happy Hour special & appreciated the accoutrements. Steaks are the real star of the show here. Perfectly cooked with a nice grilled flavor, they use superior cuts of beef. The interior was surprisingly dark & loud. We probably would have opted for a patio reservation had we known which is brighter, quieter, & enclosed. 4 cocktails, 3 appetizers, 3 steaks w/sauce & 3 sides ran $500 including tip. Overall, it was a solid meal & we would revisit when in the mood for a good steak. Be advised, parking can be challenging as there is no dedicated lot or valet.
Went as a group of 10. Service was spectacular. The seafood plate of perfect Oysters, lobster dip, shrimp were all good. The cheese and seafood dip was tasty. But the steak was melt in your mouth perfection. The mushrooms were great, the corn, potato, brocollini and squash sides were just OK. The ambiance was flexible from romantic to business dinner.
My first time there and enjoyed it. Great ambiance, menu choices and waitress. Juliana was wonderful and she knew the menu well. I had the hanger steak and shrimp. Both were seasoned well and perfectly prepared. Margheritas were hand made and very good. The dessert was new, however I don't remember the name of it. I look forward to returning.
This was our first time trying it. The place is beautifully designed with a nice atmosphere. Every dish we tried was carefully prepared and had attention to detail. Every bite was delicious. The spaghetti with clams had a delicate combination of ingredients that was really enjoyable. The dessert was great as well. A beautiful key lime pie with a home made merengue. Highly recommend it if you are in the mood of trying something well prepared and different in the Alpharetta downtown area. Only suggestion to the restaurant is to keep adding and improving dishes during different seasons. We will be back.
We were 5 girls celebrating a birthday and had a wonderful experience at Lapeer. Our waiter Steven showed exemplary service with care and cheer. Absolutely coming back. And oh, those bread rolls with churned butter, can't forget. Only request would be to increase the portions slightly. And I typically write this one in every review: please consider adding vegan options.
Nice spot. Service was great (shout to our server Arel). Food was decent. We had the lamb specials and the ribeye. Cauliflower side was okay. The crab gratin was excellent. Calamari was good. Crème brûlée was perfect.
Where do I start?! I LOVE this place. The dinner rolls are soooo good! The calamari is the best I’ve ever had. The dish doesn’t need sauce because it comes with a pickled onion of some sort and cilantro which brings the flavors together very well. My cosmo was made just right without me having to send back. Oysters were fresh and tasty. The lobster pasta was tasty but not as good as everything else. Nice ambience and location. The only problem you may have is parking. I had to circle the area several times and parked a couple of blocks over. So be prepared if you’re wearing heels.
The steak here is "top shelf and tip of the mark". The food here is wonderful and the service is to rave about. The ambience is perfect for the meal as well. Our waiter Don and his trainee Kevin were very attentive. If you are a local or just visiting like us, do not miss this place, you will not be disappointed! My wife wanted me to add that the coffee is top shelf as well!
Our evening at Lapeer was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The cocktails were creative, beautiful & absolutely delicious. The ambiance & decor were equally impressive. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. Service was exceptional as well. We will definitely be back. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! Sit at the bar and ask for Cody Brown, he's the best and knows so much about all the offerings. Definitely try some Mezcal!
I had the freshest seafood and juiciest steaks at Lapeer ATL. This was the perfect spot for an elevated date night. They have fresh coastal cuisine from the gulf and east coast and are located next to some of the cutest boutiques and shops. The strip is perfect for taking a cozy stroll after dinner and enjoying waterfall views. I felt like I was enjoying dinner on a resort. The range of cuts of beef was incredible including prime, certified Angus, America Wagyu, and reserved dry-aged steaks. Lapeer also has 10 whites and 10 red wines available by the glass as well as an exclusive cocktail menu with hints of the stirred drinks of the early 20th century like the Vieux Carre - perect to enjoy on the patio. What I tried at @lapeeratl: LOBSTER PASTA HOUSE MADE SPAGHETTI, FRESH MAINE LOBSTER, LEMON BUTTER, HERBS The lobster is so tender and the sauce served with the pasta is just *chef's kiss* The chunks of lobster came out shaped like a lobster. So cute. Loved the presentation. Prime Delmonico Ribeye 16oz Some of the juiciest and most flavorful steak I have ever had. You definitely have to try this! And it's served with a half of garlic dripping with oils. Yum! STARTERS WAGYU BEEF TARTARE HAND CHOPPED BEEF, GARLIC DIJONNAISE, PICKLED SHALLOT, CORNICHON, SOURDOUGH My first time trying this. Very different but I liked it! LAPEER SMOKED FISH DIP HOUSE HOT SAUCE, SALTINES, LEMON So good and packed with flaky flavorful goodness. COCKTAILS FRENCH 75 bare bone vodka, lemon, pomegranate, sparkling wine SIDES BROCCOLINI, GARLIC OIL The florets are lightly flash fried to a juicy and tender crispiness BOO RADLEY bourbon, cynar, cherry heering, tart cherry - saffron bitters Perfect pours. 5 stars for the service! I haven't experienced this level of service in a long time. Beautiful setting to dine in. steaks were delicious and prepared well. Crab dip as a starter was flavorful and a great way to start the meal. Sides are a la carte and not super impressive. $14 for green beans is pricey. Overall really fabulous dining experience for a celebration.
The place is simple yet sophisticated. The service from the hostess to our waiter was kind and attentive. My favorite part of the restaurant was the spacing of the tables. Most restaurants place you so close to the next. You can hear each other's conversation. The place lent to eating in an intimate setting. Get The Shrimp Toast!!!!
First time dining at Lapeer and was not disappointed! Our server Myrah was incredible. So knowledgeable on the menu and recommended some of her favorites that were delicious! We ordered oysters, the Waygu carpaccio, a filet with sides (baked shells and potato au gratin). Everything was exceptional. Definitely will be back in the future!
Love this place. What’s funny to me is, when I came here the first time (before they were truly a steakhouse) I ordered the only steak on the menu, and I hated it. Didn’t come back for a year +. Met a buddy for drinks here a while back and had dinner, and I crave it ever since. Richard runs the bar and is fantastic. Their food is unreal, one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Their beef carpaccio is terrific, their shrimp toast is amazing. Drinks are excellent wife loves their seafood. Slam dunk. Only downside is the music can sometimes be played a bit loud on some evenings, but usually not. Love this place.
Last night my date and I witnessed firsthand Blake Hartley’s incredible culinary artistry in action. Our food was beyond delicious and the presentation was over the top. Lapeers has a great vibe, a great staff and I really enjoyed all the different serving pieces used to plate different selections. Super cool. The kitchen concept in itself is well worth seeing and knowing about. Chef Hartley is particularly personable and not only came by our table but talked us through his amazing menu and gave excellent recommendations. I can hardly wait to go back!! It’s a must go!
Great spot in Alpharetta for dinner. All kinds of cute shops, and restaurants. Lovely decor inside; chic, but comfortable. Had Salmon, Filet, Lobster Pasta, with table sides of Jalepeno Cream Corn, Whipped Mash, and MacNCheese. All great, flavorful, and portions were plenty. Dessert of Peach Panna Cotta, and Cheesecake were delicious! Had great food, and company.
As an individual that’s in the hospitality and food industry this Restaurant is of the highest on my list for both food and service. I have eaten at many of the best restaurants in American and beyond and this stand out as one of the best in my opinion and the best in atlanta.
1st time visit, blown away.. Don our waiter walked us through everything on tnt menu and his recommendations were spot on. Tried the waygu steak 🥩 it was cooked to absolute perfection! The scallops.. Perfect. My expectations were low but this gem 💎 of an establishment will be part of my wife and I regular rotation. Highly recommended!!
Food here was super high quality. Came for a work dinner and though restaurant gets a tad loud making it hard to hear, it had a great modern atmosphere inside with beautiful decorations. Again, the food was super delicious for those who love meat. Had some great appetizers and everyone finished their meals! Only thing, I would probably skip dessert. Besides that would def recommend and will be back!
Great food and great atmosphere. Our cocktails were also great and the rolls they have are amazing! Also, they give you homemade carmels with your bill that are amazing! Our server, Sam, was amazing! Highly reccomend
Francisco, our waiter, and the whole staff at Lapeer made our 44th anniversary dinner great. Very impressed with our first visit, won't be our last! Thanks for the great service and great food!
The Bronzino was like BUTTAH. And if you leave without having the Budino for dessert, you have completely missed out! The calamari was perfectly complimented with fresh mint & other herbs, very refreshing!
I cannot say enough good things about Lapeer. We celebrated my 40th birthday last night with 15 friends and the entire experience was beyond expectation. Kicking myself for not trying this place sooner. The waitress was incredible and the food is by far the best we have had in Alpharetta. New favorite spot.
FINALLY! A REAL MEZCAL BAR! Im so happy this made it to the burbs. Not only do they have the most impressive selection of mezcals, but they have the most delicious cocktails too! I recommend starting the evening off with a Sunburn Sour. Cody behind the bar really knows his stuff and his cocktail creations are most impressive. My favorite apps so far are the Tuna Cubes and the Snapper Crudo. I love how they have daily featured entrees too. I tried the Scallop feature Saturday with chili garlic, fried rice and grilled pineapple that was to die for. Everything we tried was so incredibly fresh and expertly prepared, you can easily see why this is a higher price point than most other seafood spots in the area. It’s WORTH IT! Oh, and you have to admire the absolutely gorgeous aesthetic of this spot. It’s really somewhere you want to spend the whole day/night - and we did! Cant wait to come back. Well done y’all!
Simply excellent. One of the best meals, and frankly dining experiences, we’ve ever had. It will certainly not disappoint and we look forward to returning soon!
I had the pleasure of dining here for the first time with the owner and concept creator. Everything I tried on the menu was fantastic, well thought out and the steak(s) (I sampled the top three) were cooked to perfection at medium rare....even the best steak houses mess this up a lot....I know because it happens to me all the time. I had the Wagyu Carpaccio, crab pasta and calamari for apps and I'm very picky about calamari and they nailed it. It's a hike for me since I live in Sandy Springs but this place is on my date night list now for my nights out with my wife.
Best oysters and calamari I've ever had... Anytime I visit Atlanta and make sure to stop here. Top class!
We went for my boyfriend’s birthday and it was truly an awesome experience. From the food to the service it was so great, Kylee was an amazing server and took such great care of us, we will be back!!
Excellent experience. Tuesday evening was not busy and we had the best server, Nicol. She was knowledgeable of the menu and had great energy. We ordered the shrimp toast, New York strip, creamed corn and mushrooms and split it between the two of us. Meat was cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely. Our favorite was the creamed corn, which is probably the best I have ever had. Try the pear and rosemary ice cream dessert; it was so tasty and unique. Excellent service with fantastic food will bring me back.
If I could give 10 stars for the food and service, I would. Our third time going and it was stunning as always. The shrimp toast and sticky toffee pudding were standouts as always. Natalie, Marshall and Layla made the experience SO fun and they were incredibly attentive. We can’t wait to go back!
We have been to Lapeer a handful of times. When asked by my wife where I wanted to spend my birthday this year it was a no brainer that I chose Lapeer. Each dish is elegant without being pretentious. I could eat through their appetizer section and call that a meal. Their steak section is well thought out and at a good price. I can't say that for many steakhouse. I got the Delmonico where my wife got the filet. We happy food danced all the way to the end where we got the must have frozen espresso martini. I love going to a place where the food and service are so in-synce and they make you feel at home. Bravo Lapeer. I look forward to coming back. Now im going to go dig into those leftovers
We ate here Saturday night. We were looking to try some place new and glad we did. Sits in downtown Alpharetta and has a very laid back atmosphere. We each had a few cocktails and their list is plentiful. For an appetizer we got the shrimp toast and it was very good. Highly rec that dish. For our mains the wife got the scallops and rissoto. I sampled one of the scallops and they were very good. I got the 7 oz Filet topped with crab meat and it was very good and honestly looked a lot bigger than 7 oz. We ordered the large asparagus as a side and it was really good. We enjoyed this place a lot and will def be back if we are in this area. Wonderful service as well. Our waitress was very good. I'm giving this place 4 stars solely based on the food. The food was great and very tasty. I really enjoyed the wagyu tartare and the hanger stank with my glass of Grenache wine. We did have to wait a very long time for our food to come out. Also we had to wait a very long time for our wine to come out. Then the checks took forever to be split and stuff was on the wrong check so we ended up being kinda frustrated and just paying for whatever. We hope the attention to service does change because the concept is excellent!
The ambiance is nice at Lapeer; I think it works for both a date night as well as a group social outing. Our server was Arryl (hoped I spelled it right), and he was great. He did a great job of providing recommendations as well as explaining the history of the restaurant as well as where some of the food is sourced. My friends and I have different foods and everyone enjoyed it, especially the oysters, so it would be safe to say you can't go wrong with your choice. My favorite was the Salt and Pepper Calamari. I would definitely visit again if I'm in the area.
This place is definitely for a nice romantic dine in experience . My fav thing here was the fresh oysters . The shrimp toast is nice but definitely not heart healthy . I would suggest lesser butter on toast cauz the shrimp is soo good that the bread doesn’t need much . I also love the wine selection and service is definitely good . The place is a big tight if you sit on table for 2.
Love the new menu! The food was all so amazing. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only thing keeping me from leaving a 5 star review, was their cocktails. They were pretty skimpy, so we just ended up ordering a bottle of wine. We will definitely be back though!
We are in town for a week and looked for a good Steakhouse and found one! Wedge salad, calamari, Hangar steak w shrimp and lobster shrimp fettuccine.. Amazing! My only complaint is the noise... So so so loud we couldn't even hear each other from across the table.
Let me make this cut and dry. Atmosphere: 5/5 beautiful decor and the outside is gorgeous. Service: From the host to the bartender ( I sat at the bar) attentive , kind, knowledgeable 5/5 Food : Appearance Clearly you can tell 5/5 NOW. The oysters tasted delicious briny just the way I like it I forgot the names.. it was perfect but for 2/5 oysters both had broken shell pieces. Scallops gorgeous everything from the romesco cauliflower to the crispy rice and the puree and seared pineapple and especially the scallops cooked perfectly. My issue? No seasoning.... Very bland. Therefore 4/5 will come back to try the oysters again and maybe drinks probably not for the protein there.
Great atmosphere and decor. Very trendy place. The food was excellent and the service was prompt and friendly. My only complaint is the entree sizes for the prices. The lunch portions were tiny. This is a great place for a date night. Free WiFi and plenty of parking nearby.
Food was pretty good. Beers seemed smaller than 12oz but.... Waitress swore they were 12oz and offered to measure if needed 🤣. They probably were and the food was worth it anyway.
I wouldn’t come back. As others mentioned, food is overpriced for what you get. Fish is too heavily battered and my burger tasted like a burger less than half the price. Our server was down, the others, not so much including the manager. He walked by our table at least 2-3 times without seeing me trying to wave at him. We got another server walking by, she said she doesn’t speak English and just walked away. She did not go find someone else to help us. I had to get up to find my own sauce.
We had reservations at 8:30 for a party of 4. Arrived at 8:32, our friends arrived at 8and waited at the bar. We waited literally 30 minutes for our table, despite the restaurant being relatively empty for Friday night. We went up to the host, stand four times asking for updates on the table, most of the time there was no host at the stand. And when there was, she seemed disinterested in helping us. We finally got a table, and sat there a while until I got the manager and asked for a server. The server was polite and offered us appetizers on the house to make up for the weight. The appetizers were great, the server Was nice enough. The Porter house and the T-bone steak were both sold out. They did not inform us that the kitchen was closing. So we were unable to order any additional sides or desserts. I was pretty disappointed Despite the food being good. The manager was sweet, she complemented our outfits while we were waiting for a table. I had really high expectations based off of the reviews, maybe that was my fault. The calamari, was not what the reviews said it was. The creamed corn was amazing. I highly recommend that. Not sure that I would repeat.
Hello Fellow Foodies, I’m leaving this review in hopes to help bring awareness to the false advertising in pricing and wording of the menu at “Lapeer “. Let me start by saying, I am a salad customer at every restaurant I go to. It’s what I order, always! When ordering a salad it’s common for a menu to clearly advertise the price of additional proteins someone can choose to add to their salad choice. When looking at this menu, I clearly see an additional add on suggestion made by the restaurant for “cold lobster “ not realizing the 3oz of cold lobster was actually going to be charged $29 additional dollars, which is actually the cost of the “warm butter lobster” advertised on the menu at Lapeer steak and seafood. I found out when the bill came that I was in fact charged $46 for a salad. After bringing this to the waiters attention, I realized nothing was gonna be done about this except allowing me to speak to the manager. When the manager came over without the bill or a menu to discuss the issue, I had to request to look over the menu with the manager and point out the fact, that there was not an advertised priced for cold lobster . The manager insisted on informing me that this is an unfortunate situation because of inflation and what the prices for lobster is. After reviewing the menu a little further with the manager and explaining how the advertise price was misleading, where in fact, there is no advertise price on the menu for cold lobster it would be absolutely impossible for anyone to realize, they would charge an additional $29 on top of the $16 for a salad. The manager refused to remove the lobster and made a slight adjustment to the bill. While the manager was doing that the waiter came over, leaned down to me and said, with an extremely insulting tone “did you really think you would get a salad for $16 with lobster”. Shocked by this approach from the waiter I agreed $16 for a salad with lobster was not what I would be expecting to pay however $46 was not a realistic price either especially considering, there is no advertise price for cold lobster anywhere on the menu so for anyone to be able to clearly understand what they are asking for and what the final price would be is absolutely absurd. Because they refused to address The discrepancy on their menu, I reassured them. I would be leaving this review to help further customers be more aware of the false advertisement they refuse to address. I hope this review helps someone better understand what they will be walking into when choosing to visit this establishment.
Well if I could leave zero stars I would but that’s not possible so one it is. We had reserved a table for Valentine’s Day two weeks ago. Get there right on time at 9:45 PM (late, I know, but it was the only time available). We get seated and then we wait 15 minutes and no one ever comes to our table. Not to bring us water or to take our drink order or even to greet us. About 4 different waiters pass us by in the span of the 15 minutes. Everyone ignores us so we leave. Horrible experience.
