Don’t listen to the low reviews, low reviews are wack. Amazing service, the staff were amazing. The food was great. I’ve had sushi all across the country and the Moonstone roll I had was easily in my top 3. The atmosphere was homey and welcoming. 10/10 would definitely recommend ❤️

Passing by the City of Arcata while on a Pacific Coastal Road Trip and stopped by to see a friend in the area and met up here by the recommendation of the friend. The food is good & fresh and the service is relatively fast. Plenty of street parking and the restaurant is located right by the Arcata Plaza which is the center of the town with lots of cute boutique shops around the square. Recommend to stop by for a quick bite!

Jaime has a great sense of what his patrons palates would like to experience. After ordering sashimi (the best I’ve ever had, presentation, taste, and portion size) he offered to create a roll for me. It is pictured below, and it was perfectly matched to my preferences. Thank you Jaime! And Jesse! The people that work here make take the experience from great to exceptional.

My husband and I visited Sushi Spot Arcata at the end of August. We ordered gyoza (pork), a dragonfly roll, and a California roll. The food was AMAZING! I thought the atmosphere was really nice. Our server was warm and friendly! We had an overall great experience at Sushi Spot Arcata. I highly recommend!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and we were extremely satisfied with dinner. We got 3 different oyster apps and a roll which was some of the best sushi we have had. We are very much foodies. So eating where was 10/10. Great service too.

Randomly came to this place because not a lot of places are open on Labor Day. It's surprisingly good! The seafood is not fishy.

We came here for dinner during our road trip to the area. Tried the shrimp tempura, edamame, lemon salmon sashimi, salmon donburi (new seasonal) and the Alaskan sushi. The sushi, donburi and tempura were great.

The food was amazing, but the wait was 2 hours. They were very busy, and it was Monday night. Sadly they were very under staffed due to the fact our waitress was the bar tender and cashier as well. Overall the wait was worth it, because the food was amazing!

Sushi and sashimi taste good. The Momiji Hama Kana - grilled hamachi collar is cooked perfectly. Just right amount of flavor in the fish oils. Be sure to add hot rice to absorb the plate drippings to eat!!!. The three color butsigiri is also good. The Caterpillar roll is best with "eyeballs " and "antennae. " Ate lunch in Arcata and dinner in Mckinlyville. Friendly staff. Be prepared to wait as it sometimes gets packed for Dinner.

First time eating here. The sushi is good, good for arcata or Humboldt county I guess. The rolls are loaded with rice, but still pretty good. We got a pork appetizer and it was not that good. It was barely warm and was basically a pork chop with teriyaki sauce. Not pork belly at all. If you have a craving, this spot will do. All in all, I don't think I'll eat here again.

I went with my family to this sushi spot and came out disappointed. We got edamame, 4 miso soups, 2 orders of nigiri (hamachi and tuna), spicy tuna roll, katsu curry, the 3 color, and a special roll (smth with pheonix) after we saw how little the portions were. The waiter had prompted us with miso soups after we have already ordered, felt a bit pressuring and we did not know it was an extra charge but did not say anything. It was good but not smth we wanted to eat initially that added to the $124 total. The tricolor was on a very small plate for 20 dollars and the rolls were around the size of a quarter each. They were much smaller for the price. And we ordered the phoenix special roll after seeing the portions and it ended up not tasting great at all. The food was okay and the service and food were solid, but not worth the price and size.

Unfortunately, the sushi spot has gone way downhill. Ar lunch today, Super soggy, tempura with huge chunks of zucchini and 2 tiny shrimp. Server was unapologetic When I mentioned something Agedashi tofu Was so full of cornstarch. It was barely edilble In the top of all off, they were flies, hovering around the bar. I’ve had some good meals here in the past, but this may be my last one, unless I hear things dramatically change. Many better options at this point

Went here with my family, went home all of are puking and sick now, never felt this way at the eureka location, I don’t know what’s the issues here. I do not recommend the arcata location 🤢
