Kind of in ghetto area, but food was amazing, service was above & beyond, and tons of beverage/drink variety. It’s nominally a Cuban place, but they had several central/South American offerings.
Love the drilled chicken with black beans and rice. I always get extra red hot sauce and an order of ribs barbecue sauce on the side and more extra sauce. Mixing the rice and beans with red hot sauce is so delicious. And they always take my order over the phone and i dont have to wait much. Great service.
Getting to the restaurant is a little more difficult due to the road work, but DO NOT let that deter you. Ay Papa is definitely worth the visit. We saw a fresh fruit drink in the case and it looked great, so we have it a try. So good! Very cooling and refreshing! We decided on two sandwiches: a Cuban club and a bbq asada. When they came, we switched halves so we could each have some of both. The Cuban club was a quite delicious. The bread crust was toasted perfectly crispy with a soft inside and the sandwich makings were fresh and plentiful. I devoured half of the large sandwich before remembering that I wanted to take a photo- oh well, next time! I thought the club was good, then I had some of the bbq asada. It was fantastic! I was full, so I’m saving that one for later, and let me tell you, holding off from eating it was very difficult. Even though I’m stuffed from the first half-sandwich my mouth is watering at the prospect of the bbq asada for later. I want to come back again and again to try the rest of the items on the menu. The wait staff was very friendly and efficient. Do yourself a favor and go.
If you looking for authentic food. You gotta come here. My favorite is the beef empanadas ..soooo good!! My hunny loves the cubano.. he only eats it here! Chris and the staff are amazing! One of the best in the valley!!
This place has some of the best bbq ever, the food is always fresh and warm. Their empanadas are nice and crunchy. The 1/2 chicken plate is also a really good bargain as it comes with two sides and tortillas.
The location used to be an old taco stand from my childhood and I was in the neighborhood. It is so much more than what once was and I will make the 20 minute drive again to try out the rest of their menu. I ordered the beef quesadilla and got extra red sauce - excellent. The picture is the asada fries and to the side half a quesadilla.
Delicious & Healthy "sazón" I'm a Cuban food fan and this is one of the best restaurants hands down. There is also a variety of Salvadoran food and some Mexican food as well. Parking is a challenge but one manages for the love of tasty food !!!! Do yourself a favor and have some of these dishes 👏
This place has one of the best chickens i’ve had in a very long time! My go to dish is 1/2 chicken with rice, pinto beans and a side of plantains (this meal also included a jalapeño, tortillas and sauces). We also ordered pupusas, a cuban sandwich and a side of rice and black beans. The cuban sandwich was ok but not something we would order again. They are pretty fast and the employees are very friendly. I’d highly recommend anyone to stop by here and try some of their food!
Loved the great food it's tasty & yummy. & There's a churro guy right outside freshly made warm & made to order
Great chicken and the empanadas were great! Staff was friendly. The seating is an enclosed area, but still outdoors, so cold on cold days.
Nice and small place. Cuban sandwich is too good and heavy enough. Drink in the picture added is a very refreshing pineapple juice tried here. Got the chicken combination (very much favoured by customers here), packed which comes along with fresh prepared chicken along with yellow rice, pinto/black beans. A must visit!
The food here is good — no doubt about that ! and my staff and I have ordered at least once a month for years. But good food doesn’t excuse terrible customer service. I placed a large office order today at 11:03am for 12:00pm pickup. The cashier repeated the order correctly: • 4 chicken combos together in one platter • 1 chicken combo packed separately • 1 Cuban sandwich When I picked it up, everything was wrong. The separate combo was missing, and instead of fixing it, the staff argued with me. The cashier admitted she put the order in correctly, but the kitchen messed up. Instead of apologizing, she said the order was “still complete” and even told me to bring the food back — after my staff had already started eating. I went back anyway to get the missing food. The owner himself — who in the past has always been helpful — made things worse. Rather than apologizing, he told me again that the order was “still complete,” dismissing the mistake and treating me like I was the problem. No accountability, no apology, just excuses. This is not how you treat loyal customers. A business that can’t admit fault and refuses to apologize doesn’t deserve repeat customers. The food may be tasty, but don’t expect honesty, accountability, or good service if they make a mistake.
