Great place for breakfast or lunch, but we did breakfast. Service / staff are awesome! Food is very good, we ate too much! It is a simple coffee shop / diner motif but it is spotless and very well maintained. An Irving landmark and has a strong "Regular" fan base, but newcomers are treated just as well. Prices are really good for 2024 economy, so go as often as you can.

I was passing through Irving and stopped by for breakfast on my way home. The food and service were great but my favorite part was the charming atmosphere. The place was filled with pictures of the community on the walls and under the table glass it had such a great feel, I wish I didn’t have to eat quickly and get back on the road. Oh and don’t forget a bottle of Joe’s hot sauce to go, you’ll thank me later!

This coffee shop caters to seniors and is reasonably priced. My mother likes the meatloaf and loves the pies. They have good coffee, and the service is solid. We usually spend at least an hour or more eating and chatting. We never feel pressured or uncomfortable. It's my aging moms favorite place to eat out.

Just visiting Dallas and stopped here in Irving. The food was great, we ordered the Big Bird and we received the food so quickly! The waiter and the manager were so attentive to our needs and checked on us quite frequently. The manager was bussing tables as well. So it shows they’re very responsive and aware. I highly recommend this place for breakfast. The pancakes are huge and the food is very good.

Perfect place to go if you’re looking for an old time coffee counter type place! The pie is always amazing and the old standards rule. We got a grilled cheese and fries this time and felt all warm and fuzzy after a long day of staff development.

Me and my wife started coming here our senior year of high school. It’s truly where Irving meets and eats. Not to date ourselves… but it’s been about 12 years of coming here whenever we can, even driving in from Dallas and passing multiple other places on the way. What keeps bringing us back is the hospitality. The owner (or the lady who runs the restaurant) makes you feel like you’re her grandkid — literally like family. We’re greeted as soon as we walk in, and the servers are always attentive and polite. The food is really good and not overpriced. You can tell this place has stayed open all these years because of those main factors: great service, consistent food, and a welcoming atmosphere. You’ll notice a lot of elderly guests dining here, and I’m sure it’s because they feel comfortable and at home. There are regulars in here all the time. The establishment really hasn’t changed — same décor, same colors, same everything. It feels like a true mom-and-pop spot frozen in time. It gives a 90s-era aesthetic, not because it’s trendy, but because that’s genuinely how long (if not longer) it’s been around. Everything around it has changed, but this spot has stood the test of time. My wife used to run a restaurant, and on our most recent visit she explained why she enjoys coming here so much. She pointed out things I probably would’ve never noticed. Even though the place isn’t flashy or modern, they clearly take pride in maintaining it. The windows are clean. The curtains are clean. The booth upholstery isn’t cracked or damaged. Same with the chairs. Floors are swept, tables are wiped down — everything is well kept. That speaks volumes. The food is classic American diner style — the kind of comfort food you grow up with. In 12+ years of coming here, we’ve never had bad food or a bad experience. That kind of consistency is rare. If you’re looking for a place that feels like home, with good food and even better hospitality, this is it.

As we arrived at the restaurant, a friendly staff member kindly held the doors open for us. With my baby in a stroller, I truly appreciated this considerate and attentive act. A big thank you to the gentleman for going above and beyond in customer service. He welcomed us warmly, and the rest of the team mirrored his kindness. They were exceptionally accommodating, friendly, and genuinely attentive to their customers' needs. I ordered an omelet packed with ham, sausage, and bacon. It was delicious, although a few pieces of meat were a bit tough to chew. I would give it a 4.5 out of 5. My Arnold Palmer was refreshing and delightful, earning a perfect score of 5 out of 5. One of my friend's niece ordered the strawberry French toast, which she absolutely loved. It not only looked aesthetically pleasing but also tasted amazing. My other friend's niece was pleased with her meal, but my friend mentioned her dish could have used more seasoning. I suggested that it might be because they cater to a clientele that prefers less seasoning than other places. After adding some salt, she said it tasted much better. Their prices are quite reasonable compared to other diners. If you haven't been there yet, I highly recommend giving it a try. Their customer service is exceptional, and the food is quite good.

I have lived in Irving majority of my life, and I’ve never been to this café until today 1/29/26, Russell and Alexa were very nice and welcoming! It was packed! I had the big bird which is blueberry pancakes, Scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, and sausage! I also had 2 cups of hot chocolate with whip whipped cream! Everything was so good and tasty! Service was great, and I loved the nostalgic feel of the place! I will definitely go back and try their lunch and dinner entrées!

This place is an essential part of my everyday routine. I stop here each morning for my coffee and breakfast before beginning my busy business schedule. It offers an authentic atmosphere with a truly American character, complemented by an exceptional team whose warmth and hospitality make one feel completely at home. I visit daily, and on holidays I often come with my wife and children as well. Whenever guests arrive from overseas and wish to experience a genuine Texas breakfast, this is always my first choice. Consistently excellent in every respect " a well " deserved five stars.

Super cute spot, an Irving, Texas staple! In combination with the old location on 6th st and the new one, a total of 55 years in business. It is Irving History, and we brought my uncle from out of the states to experience something local. We had a party of 5 adults and 1 kiddo. I chose the avocado 🥑 stuffed with Tuna. It was a good serving size, light, and healthy. The tuna was really good and well seasoned good flavor balance. They have a daily special sheet, not just one item. A FULL SHEET! Check was under $90 with tip. If you're looking for a local gem 💎 this is a go to in Irving, Texas.

They are good foods good. But starting to feel driving from Abilene to Irving might not be worth it anymore. You tell someone to give you a second you just sat down after driving 3 hours. then she doesn't come back. Really don't think I'll come back.

Had a Valetine's Day breakfast here with my mother! This place is very cute. It has a long history for sure! The service was great. Everyone was kind and attentive. Though, the food wasn't for us. It was more on the blander side with very small portions. However, this restaurant would be perfect for Seniors!

I wished I could of gave this place a 5 star review based off the lady (she's might be the owner) who greeted us as we walked in and made us laugh. We got to pick where we wanted to sit. I was disappointed with the server that we had. She didn't seem friendly. I was expecting that service was going to be great based off of all the other reviews on here. We almost felt that she didn't want us there. For this reason... I ate one of my biscuits with gravy and she came and took the plate away before I could finish my other biscuit. I was still eating the other half of my bacon, eggs, and grits so I'm not sure why she would take my biscuits and gravy away. I should've said something but she already walked away and we just moved here so I didn't want to start anything! Very disappointed! The breakfast was good though. I did want to bring the rest of my family here to try other food they have on the menu. However, not sure if we would like to come back because of the server! The server had glasses if this would help the owner speak to her about her service. Food: 5 stars Service: 1 star Owner (I think she was! She was doing the books.): 5 stars

Went Saturday to see what the hype was all about. The place is very clean and the staff are very attentive. My Chili Omelette was small and bland. I order these everywhere I go and have never seen one like this. The chili and egg are only on the inside. No toppings whatsoever. Had zero appeal. They also charge you an extra dollar for entrees with egg. The so called "egg shortage" I guess. Right after eating here I went to Winco where I bought a dozen for less than $3.50. Maybe they need a new supplier?

I used to love this place, however, as someone who's entered the service dog-needing population. I need a service animal in order to be able to drive places, they don't recognize that as a service animal allowed in their restaurant. I will not ever be back. I was told that their elderly population has allergies. Hmm... service animals have to be clean to be a service animal. They do have good food but other places do as well.

The food is always good there. I just don't like the atmosphere. I see they are very welcoming to the Caucasians and not so welcoming to us Hispanics. I wish I could say I feel comfortable, but i don't, and that is my honest opinion. But the food is always good.

In response to the response from Joe's Coffee Shop, about my review; Exactly HOW would you have responded to the problems I outlined, in my initial 'review'? You could not have changed the attitude of the cash register person; you could NOT have made any change to the fact tat it took longer than usual to get our order. You could have sent the overcooked omlette back, but to what avail? Another 15 to 30 minute wait? Sorry, this was just a very bad experience, and I doubt complaining in person, at the time would have changed ANYTHING. Hopefully you can use THIS exchange to make it a better experience for someone else. Came here after early morning Doctor appoitment. Did NOT want to go to Mickey D, or Whataburger (which would have been a MUCH BETTER choice). Immediate sesting, a +;friendly wait person, also a +. After perusing the menu, finally made a decision; a "Vegetarian Omelette", with home fries, bisquit & gravy, for me; and a Belgian Waffle for my companion. After taking our order, there was a GREAT deal of time, before finally getting our food. The waffle was tough, and tasted like leftover wheat bread; the butter & syrup did not help the flavor. I was cocnerned, so I tasted it, it really was BAD! My omelette was over cooked, and the only vegetables in it were celery, green beans, and some undetermined green mass. The gravy was WONDERFUL; the bisquits were tough, and the bottoms were over cooked, and hard to cut. I have been to Joe's many times for lunch and dinner in the past. When Carol was still alive, it was the go to place, but, like so many other places, their past reputation has diminished greatly! When I was checking out, the insolent cashier was very rude. I simply asked her IF they did Military discount, or Senior discount or AARP;she said rudely, NO, NO DISCOUNTS! It will be a very cold day in HELL before I venture back to this establishment. I truly feel sorry for the people that are going to lose their jobs, when Joe's folds, as it will!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Not sure why its called a coffee shop it has bitter coffee and half and half that's it for coffee. I ordered 2 eggs sunny side up hashbrown and bacon extra crispy same as I do everywhere never have they came out burnt until today. Gloria needs to learn some restaurant etiquette and lose her redness. Very much over priced in my opinion
