Great food, service, and atmosphere! Had a really good seafood dish, the rice was cooked perfectly, the beans, and tostones were fantastic! Took my father-in-law here for him to try Puerto Rican food for the first time and he instantly became a fan!

The meat empanadas, were perfectly cooked. The mofongo had pieces of chicharon, and the chicken was very tender. I forgot to add, the tembleque was to die for! My friend had the beefsteak mofongo and the flancocho as a dessert. We really enjoyed my birthday celebration. The passion fruit juice was natural! Service was excellent!

The food and service were great the location and atmosphere lacked the Latino vibe but in contrast it gives you the authentic Spanish food without the loudness and hustle of bigger restaurants. It’s one of those hidden gems that looks like it’s closed before you see cars in the parking lot.

The food was fantastic! I had the pork chops, and it was delicious with a nice presentation. The cultured drinks were just as delicious. I definitely recommend giving them a try if you haven't tried them yet.

I’ve been at La Casona for probably 20+ years. Amazing place for Puerto Rican-style cuisine. Whole fried snapper, mofongo, and so many more yummy dishes. Friendly staff. Great desserts. A casual design filled with typical PR items. Highly recommend

Wonderful meal, atmosphere and service. Authentic, the only other place this good is my mom’s. Gal who served us was a tentative and friendly. Mofongo with shrimp, mofongo with crab meat and empanadas.

This place takes the Gold Medal!!! Where to begin, the atmosphere and ambiance is just so lovely, you feel like home. The service was impeccable, headed by Juan, an amazing gentleman who will greet you with a smile and chat with you, like you have known him your entire life. Our server Sarody, talk about excellence, she took care of us like we were family, she was friendly, knowleadgeable, just outstanding. The food, Oh My God, the food. Me and my wife both agreed, we can’t remember when was the last time we had Latin food this superb. We are Puertorrican, we have been eating this genre of food our entire lifes in thousands of restaurants but this one is on a category all by itself. The freshness of the ingredients is on point, the variety is extensive, the flavors are flawless and the prices are just perfect!! I could go on and on but honestly no amount of words could do this restaurant justice. Its just an experience you want to have over and over again. We can wait to visit Tampa again so we can rush to them and have another magnificent heavenly meal. Menu item suggestion: Pollo a la Casona!! 👍👏 HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! …and thats the Truth!!!

It was my first time in Tampa, and we were looking for a great Puerto Rican Restaurant to eat at. We were pleasantly surprised to find La Casona. I had made our reservation with Google Assistant (also recommend) and when we arrived our table was ready. The waitress was super nice, the food options were plenty and traditional to the Puerto Rican food we know and love. The food itself was fresh and you can tell they take pride in putting the dishes together. Excellent Presentation. I must say I was highly impressed. As a new customer, I plan to visit every time I come to Tampa. I highly recommend La Casona Restaurant! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I can't say enough about it!!! If I could give 100 stars, I would!!! I can't believe that I've never been here before?! We were greeted the minute we walked in. Very friendly! It's a pretty small, quaint restaurant. Perfect place for date night. We ordered Alcapurrias for starters...amazing! Came to the table piping hot. I asked for some hot sauce to eat them with. Our server brought me some of the best hot sauce I have ever eaten in my life!! It was so good that I bought a bottle of it when I left! For my entree, I ordered Mofongo w/Shrimp and garlic sauce. O..M..G!! I was in heaven! I have had Mofungo in many restaurants, even in Puerto Rico that was not this good!!! A gentleman walked out of the kitchen and we asked him if he was the chef, he said no. I'm the guy that cracks the whip.... Great sense of humor! We told him how delicious our meals were, and he said that everything is made to order. Nothing sits around. He was very humbled by our compliments. For dessert we ordered the Budin (bread pudding). WOW OH WOW!!! So authentic! My friend said it tasted like her mom made! A nice touch that our server brought it out with a candle on it because we were celebrating my birthday. My friend and her husband frequently dine here. I've known my friend for 10 years and I'm kind of feeling a little upset that she hasn't told me about this place until now. I told her you can't keep a diamond like this hidden from me!!!! I can't wait to come back and try something new! It's going to be very hard not to order the Mofongo con Camarones Al Ajillo again!! I'M OBSESSED!!!!!! ME ENCANTA!! I am very honest when I write my reviews on restaurants, so I will absolutely update this review once I have tried other dishes but I know that they're probably going to be just as delicious!!

We always stop in after picking someone up or dropping them off at the Tampa International Airport. Alcapurrias are divine. The mofongo relleno de cangrejo (crab-stuffed mofongo) is awesome! Service is with a smile. Friendly atmosphere.

They didn’t even give me my food. It took 27 minutes just to get my drink, and my food? I’ve been waiting 55 minutes and still nothing. Service here is terrible. This place is big but they only got three people working, and with this crew it’s straight up trash. For real, this ain’t right. Plates go from 16 bucks up to 50, and I ain’t paying for this wasted time. I see everyone who came after me eating right now, laughing, being served, while I’m still waiting. They look me up and down when I ask something and don’t even come over. Terrible service, too little staff, long wait. Don’t come here. Save your time and money.
