We decided to celebrate Christmas Eve at Palo Santo and it was a lovely choice! The food was fresh, delicious, and vibrant. If I had to narrow it down to one thing they do exceptionally well, it's the different sauces! They make each dish special and exciting. Our favorites were the shrimp, the artichoke, and the carne asada. The holiday beverage options were fun and festive, although I would love more non-alcoholic warm options. Warm herbal tea to cut through the heaviness of the meats would be delightful! The tequila cart experience was paused for the night and it was sorely missed. I would definitely recommend it if it's available when you go - it's so much fun. The service was kind and efficient. The ambience was festive although I would've appreciated the music to be a little less loud - it was hard to hear each other at certain points in the night. We had a senior citizen with us and it made it hard for her to participate in the conversation.
Another amazing experience at Palo Santo! Every visit to Palo Santo is a reminder of why it’s one of my favorite spots. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the service is always attentive, and the food is consistently outstanding. Every dish is beautifully presented and full of flavor — you can tell there’s real care and creativity behind each plate. Whether it’s a casual evening or a special occasion, Palo Santo never disappoints. Can’t wait to come back again soon! Thank you Bella for the great service.
My husband and I enjoyed celebrating our anniversary here! It was our first time and I doubt it’ll be our last! The atmosphere was amazing, so cozy and intimate. The food was incredible! The steak tartar was an amazing starter (I had never had it before). I got the lamb chops and my husband got grilled octopus. I again have never had lamb, but I can’t imagine it getting any better than that! It was cooked perfectly, the sauces pair beautifully with it, and the presentation was spectacular! My husband loved the octopus and said it was perfectly grilled! They even brought us a churro dessert since we were celebrating our anniversary. So kind, warm and inviting. We’ll be back to try more amazing dishes! Highly recommend!
Maria was absolutely outstanding! From the moment we were seated, she greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. Her attentiveness was exceptional—she anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and checked in just the right amount without ever making us feel rushed. Maria’s knowledge of the menu was impressive, offering thoughtful recommendations that turned out to be perfect choices. Her friendly, upbeat personality made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. If you’re lucky enough to have Maria as your waitress, you’re guaranteed excellent service and a wonderful meal.
this was our first time visiting this restaurant and it was a good experience. the food really surprised us. my boyfriend and i ordered the valentine’s day menu. we ordered guacamole, shrimp, branzino, las bravas, and churros
Google maps warns you... destination on the right, except all you see is an office building hiding behind an iron gate that ICE would be proud off. As you slow to a crawl, pissing off a line of cars behind you that are waiting for you to make a choice you finally spy, out of the corner out of your eye, Palo Santo parking ahead!!!. Turn into an office park parking lot, the attendant hands you a QR code that as you later find out opens up a secret gate, down concrete stairs that takes you to the rear of what seems like a construction company. So much mystery and all we have done is park!!! Inside Palo Santo is what you might imagine an explorer entering an Incan temple. In a space framed by the heaviest black out curtains that soar up 50 feet is a dimly lit reception desk. A disembodied, not unfriendly, woman's voice verified our reservation. A quick rustle and we are ushered past the black curtain into a steel cavern with minimalist decor but whimsical lighting that whisky you away from whatever was outside. Ablong bar is at one end. The kitchen at the other. And that is where the magic happened!! The food is incredible. Vibrant, flavorful, bursting with both care and elegance. Like if a village mama cooked for a king!!! Get the shrimp get the cauliflower get the marrow. Get it all. Eat with abandon. Ask for more bread to sop up the sauce that will enchant you. The menu works as a whole. Steak. Lamb. Shrimp. Tacos. Mushroom rice. Something for everyone, but yet u can tell that each dish has been thoughtfully constructed but in a way to maximize flavor and blow you away!!! Eating here is a feeling. The taste is exceptional but only half the story. It is a visual feast. Pile on and dive deep. I will eat here many many MANY times again
Beyond amazing establishment from the ambience, the service and the highlight of the show…..THE FOOD!! 🔥🔥🔥 We ordered the Steak Tartar, Las Bravas, Dry Aged Duck Breast, Mushroom Rice w Octopus added, Pork Belly and the Chilean Sea Bass. Major compliments to the Chef because every single dish did NOT disappoint! There was no need for to go boxes as we cleaned out all the plates. Our waitress Isabella was such a sweet heart and plays a significant factor for why we will be returning, thank you Isabella! Palo Santo, be prepared for our next visit because I will be ordering the 32oz Bone-in Prime Ribeye amongst other dishes and you shall witness magic happen when we devour it all. Thank you for making my 41st B-Day a special one!
I came here to celebrate my birthday and was so impressed with the entire dining experience. The food was outstanding, drinks were delicious, and the ambiance was perfection. I definitely will be coming back!
Party of 10 we was seating 2 two table not together (roof top ) food taste great but not alot variety !!! Drinks so good and atmosphere great !!! 😊 thanks u
Went to Palo Santo for a girls night and had a blast! The overall atmosphere of the place was intimate yet exciting. We had great service throughout the entire night in the maiming dining room and the rooftop. The food and theme was described as elevated and authentic Mexican with little hints of fusions. The food was amazing but I do wish there were more al a carte side options as we felt we were missing vegetables! The rooftop really picked up around 11pm but the DJ could’ve been better. Other than that I really enjoyed my experience here!
The drinks and food were exceptional, and the service was attentive and professional throughout our visit. The ambiance is stylish and inviting, making it the perfect setting for a celebration or an elegant girls’ night out. I’m already looking forward to returning to experience more of the menu.
We recently had the BEST experience here. We went for an early dinner with our 10 month old and they made us feel so welcome and accommodated. The food and the service was incredible. Philipe made sure we had everything we needed and gave us great recommendations. Additionally, the support staff (Ivan) went above and beyond by making sure we had a high chair, cut our baby up some oranges and even took him on a mini tour by the kitchen. We felt so comfortable and were able to enjoy every dish. Our favourites were the guac, hamachi, steak & steak tartar, lamb and mushroom rice! We will definitely return.
Very beautiful vibe with the open rooftop! Food was alright for what the cost was. Our bill was 1,100.00 and honestly not worth the money. We made the best out of it. We payed for the vibe lol
From the moment I pulled up, Sandra set the tone with a warm welcome and seamless valet service. She even guided me toward the entrance, a small but thoughtful touch. Inside, Felipe and the team curated an outstanding dining experience, with a menu that felt carefully crafted rather than just put together. The food, drinks, and atmosphere were all top-tier, but what stood out most was the genuine hospitality. Palo Santo isn’t just a great restaurant—it’s a place that gets it right on every level. 10/10. I’ll be back.
Excellent! Our bartender Luca was very knowledgeable and attentive- he made our night! We loved his signature drinks. Noah was also great. Kudos!
I came here for an exclusive party hosted by Taylor Williams! We were on the rooftop & everything was a vibe! The DJ was great, the drinks were good, and the sushi I had was tasty! I will say that there wasn’t very many seating options available on the rooftop and that was unfortunate. But in the restaurant area, there was seating available and the ambiance of the inside of the restaurant is nice as well.
I went to Palo Santo for a friend’s birthday and had a wonderful experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the food was absolutely lovely. I was pleasantly surprised by how many options the menu offered. We had the carne asada and Chilean sea bass for our main courses—both were flavorful and beautifully presented. One of my favorite touches was the birthday card already waiting on the table, and they brought out a treat with a candle without us even having to ask. The service was thoughtful and attentive. Overall, a fantastic spot for a special night out!
Very upscale here. I really enjoyed the decor of the entire restaurant. The upstairs loft area is gorgeous at night overlooking the city. Parking is easy with a gate and guard attendant. (y'all know how Atlanta can get). This is a short walk to the restaurant though. It was a double date, and we were looking for mainly food and some drinks. The menu is limited upstairs on the balcony, so we sat downstairs in the main dining room. I was getting a tapas vibe from this place so we ordered food to share, and then an entrée for ourselves. We started with the Pork shoulder, Patatas bravas, and Steak tartare. Split between four was a good portion. My feet were dancing under the table from the flavors. Definitely recommend the cocktails Sunkissed and tres en uno. Our server really hyped up the Birria tacos so I got that from my entrée, and it did not disappoint. Who can deny fresh corn tortillas in a cloth! My partner ordered the Mole chicken which of course I sampled and the chicken was cooked perfectly! We were celebrating so we ordered desserts for the table, Churros and their Charcoal cheesecake. Both delectable. Our table was also visited by their bar cart and we sampled some sipping tequila. I found some new favorites. This place is on my return list!
Super vibey place in Atlanta that felt much more like a restaurant in Mexico City! Delicious food, excellent cocktails, and the perfect ambiance for a fun dinner with friends or family! This will be a place I hope to return to again.
I had a really nice time on Saturday night. A friend of my told me they had music. Th DJ was really good, it was a unique mix of songs that kept the whole place lively and there was just a fun amount of dancing. The bar tenders were super nice and fun/ engaging. They didn’t seem rushed or annoyed like most experiences when things are busy. It was colder so not the windows were closed but I was told it gets really cool with the views in summer times. I’ll definitely go back and told a lot of people about it.
Love it here! 🥂 The food was delicious & surprisingly a lot of variety (lots of sushi). I love the Afro/Latin House vibe, Palo Santo has such a good energy. The rooftop is really nice to have a drink after dinner, especially if you like house music.
Our photo & video team had the absolute best time capturing the beauty of this space at a wedding two weeks ago. This is a perfect location for an intimate gathering and doesn't require many florals or decor as the restaurant is already so beautiful as is. Aside from being a photo & video team, we often visit Palo Santo to eat dinner, and we absolutely LOVE it! The food, staff, and ambiance is great. Rêver Weddings
SOOO MUCH FUN at the rooftop both nights!!! 💃 we drove from Nashville to see the hype. great crowd, reminds me of bars i went to in Puerto Rico! ✨SUPER VIBEY✨ special thx to Tyler, 1 of the best bartenders!! 💕 AMAZINGGG SERVICE! anddd he's a hottie?!?! 🙊
I had an 8:45 reservation on a Friday night for a solid date. It was very busy, but my waitress Bella was very attentive and knowledgeable. She made some great recommendations. I had the guacamole, bravas, hotstone shrimp, churros, espresso martini, and another drink I can’t remember the name. Something selva, I think. The shrimp was the star of the show—sooooo good. I could’ve drank the broth/sauce from the bowl lol. The guac was seasoned well, but the “chips” were a little bland. The potatoes were good but nothing to go back for. I’ll be back for the octopus and birria!
Place was awesome , appetizers were awesome. Atmosphere was great! Parking on site.
The most romantic restaurant in Atlanta. The rooftop was so intimate and sultry. I attended an elevated event at the rooftop and the vibes were so wonderful. Shoutout to the DJ she did a great job of curating excellent vibes. The guacamole was amazing. So fresh so delicious. The mai tai was great strong yet fruity. I highly recommend the salmon roll as well. Parking lot is small.
Great dinner and dancing spot. They are always having different events on the rooftop. I recently came for dinner and tried the duck which was delicious.
Have been multiple times now, 1st time as a family dinner which was very much pleasant. Suitable for family not long for the active ages (5 yr old antsy after 45min) but good vibes. The atmosphere was calming and inviting. I really enjoyed the food. They made a special quesadilla for my son who’s a picky eater. Service was great, there seemed to be a slight delay but not frustrating. Pcame back on a weekend for the rooftop experience which was amazing. I enjoyed the guacamole, mocktails and the DJ was great. Plenty of dance floor space when I was ready to dance!
Exceptional dining experience. Highly recommend. Took my wife there for date night dinner and then upstairs to the rooftop bar and danced the night away to a great house music DJ. -Insanely delicious cocktails -Amazingly flavorful food -Sensual ambience/soft lighting/decor -Exceptional service - Attentive, professional bartenders, servers and server support staff - Their server support staff are impressive. They keep things flowing w/table setups, timely water refills, pre-bussing, etc. Often the invisible/thankless job in restaurants, I gotta say, at Palo Santo they execute flawlessly all night with a smile. Highly recommend.
Exceptional experience! The space is beautiful, and the service was attentive and comfortable. Cocktails were familiar but had spins that were surprising and enjoyably novel. Food was creative and thoughtful. Beautiful preparation— picture-worthy if I took pictures— and well-balanced with delicate flavors that were fresh with nothing overwhelming and a variety of textures and colors that lent interest to each dish’s enjoyment.
Palo Santo is a true gem in Atlanta. The food was absolutely amazing, beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried impressed us. The service was just as great: friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing, which made the whole experience even better. One small tip for future guests: I highly recommend taking an Uber or Lyft, as parking in the area is very limited. Other than that, everything about this place was fantastic, and I can’t wait to come back.
The restaurant is in an odd location where they won’t even allow you to get dropped off by Uber. It’s very awkward. However, once you’re inside, the vibe is cool and the food is creative and edgy. The seasonal cocktails we tried were great. Most (not all) menu items were gluten-free, or they were without the sauces, although there were no gluten-free desserts, so I wouldn’t suggest this place for a birthday or special occasion if you’re gluten-free. It is pretty loud and there were also a few people at the bar filming themselves with obscenely bright LED lights. When we asked the waitress if they could be redirected away from our table, she said there was nothing that the restaurant could do about them. One other thing I would note: the restaurant smelled fantastic, but the bathrooms had a disgusting, sulfur odor that everyone at our table noticed. I don’t know what was going on or if it’s always there, but it was impossible not to notice, and other guests commented on it in the hallway of the restrooms as well.
Food was beautiful and delicious in the restaurant. The rooftop has definitely more of a club vibe, not an outdoor dining dinner vibe. The kitchen staff had great service, the bar missed some communication. We weren’t able to order all of the drinks we wanted to enjoy with our dinner.
Excellent dining experience. The restaurant has beautiful decor and an upscale atmosphere, with a thoughtfully curated menu featuring several high-end options. The drinks were well made, and both the steak and roasted chicken were exceptionally tender and flavorful. The steak had a touch more fat than I prefer, but it was still very enjoyable overall. And of course we took pictures at the sun. Lol
I went here to catch up with a mutual friend. He was new to Atlanta (I know this is in Marietta but still) and mentioned a rooftop bar, so I suggested this. Immediately, I was amazed with the atmosphere. It was very classy-esque (I mean that as it is upscale but still provides the ambiance of casualness). The wait staff is great, they're all very nice. I have no complaints. The drinks were good. Nothing extraordinary, but they were standard. And standard is never a bad thing. I had the Paloma and it was fruity, tart, sweet with the right level of alcohol strength. Would recommend. The food I think took the headline. I had the spicy salmon crispy rice and it was some of the BEST food I had. Main complaint was the portion size. It was very small and overcharged for what was given. But the view of the city is beautiful. I really did feel like I was on vacation, and forgot I had work the next day! There apparently also have a DJ on the weekends, but I came here on a Wednesday so I cannot speak on that. Overall, the main headline is the atmosphere. That is the selling point. Which is not a bad thing, but it causes the other factors of the place to be overlooked. 8/10 Would 100% come again
Nice restaurant. Food was good and different. The guacamole was a little salty but was able to take that off my check. But overall tasty food. Sat at the bar so no wait. But reservations maybe needed on weekends. They have a rooftop too.
Took my best friend here for her birthday. The service was wonderful, our waiter was great. The food was so interesting and I loved how vibrant and different the flavors were, It really opened my palette to new tastes I didn’t know I needed. (-I’m a very hot natured person so I don’t know if it was just me, but the inside of the restaurant was very hot, I was sweating, there is an open kitchen though so it may just have been my own sensitivity.) The rooftop was pretty, but definitely not my vibe. Didn’t have a welcoming feeling, more pompous and “instagram ready”. Most people seemed to be enjoying themselves though, just not my idea of fun. Overall cool experience, it was nice to try something new.
I attended an event at the rooftop. It's always nice to be on the rooftop. This one is partially open air and partially covered. The view is nice but not spectacular. The building is alongside some railroad tracks. The dining room is beautiful, although not unusual. There's just a dark theme. Parking is two blocks from the restaurant. Seems like most people try to turn into the restaurant block and have to make a u-turn.
Starting this off by stating this is a review of the indoor restaurant. They have a rooftop with the music booming and a different menu and you will definitely hear the rooftop music while dining inside and they're also playing different music inside. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice. Lights dimmed down so much you'll need your phone or a flashlight to view the menu. You have a view of the kitchen to see the cooks doing their thing. Service was nice and personally didn't have much of an issue with my visit. There is a bar area but it probably only seats about 10 or less. Onto the important stuff, the restaurant experience. Going to tell you up front, if you plan to experience the full course of this restaurant (appetizer, entree, dessert, drink(s)), be prepared to spend $100+ per person. To each their own but I don't feel you get a lot of bang for your buck here. May want to save this location for a special event or when you feel like splurging. 20% gratuity will be added to the bill off the rip too so be ready for that. While I did enjoy all I had, an argument could be made whether or not it was worth it As for what was enjoyed this evening, it was a Tulum Colada mocktail, Dragon's Blood cocktail, Pork Belly, Branzino Zarandeado, Las Bravas, Hot Stone Shrimp, churros, and cheesecake. If you ask for water, they bring you bottled Acqua Panna water and charge you for every one they pop the cap on. As stated previously, it was good. The Pork Belly stood out as very delicious. Fatty piece with some meat and the outer skin had a nice crunch to it but it was a very small 2x2 inch piece of meat garnished with some green leaf veggies and they ask $29 for it. Use the attached photos to give scope here. Las Bravas was probably the best thing I had. It's an appetizer with potatoes cooked and smothered in what appeared to be a chipotle mayo. All in all, this place is the upscale of the upscale. You will spend a lot and get what may feel like a little in return and I'm not just saying that. I encourage anyone reading this to check other reviews to see what they have to say on the matter so you know I'm not just talking out the side of my neck here. If you're ok with that though, then by all means stop in and enjoy some good food, drinks, and service. Give these folks a try.
Came for the rooftop bar - my friend had a reservation. We were seated fairly quickly as it was earlier in the night. Just an fyi, the rooftop has a different menu than downstairs and it was limited. After 11, they switch to a different menu. Also, their reserved “sections” aren’t meant for groups of maybe 6 or more. There were 3 couches that could really only fit 2 people on them. Food was pretty good BUT definitely pricey. The salmon crispy rice was $18 for 4 small pieces…The drinks/cocktails were good. Our waitress was great and attentive. Although, we were under the impression that our reservation for our table was until 1 am because that’s what was requested. Of course, we headed to the dance floor after eating and drinking for a bit. Around 12:25, one of our friends is back sitting at our table and a waitress approached and said that by 12:30 they were going to clear our section to make room for another reservation? So of course we were rushed to get our stuff and pay then we just ended up leaving. Not sure why we were removed from our table before the allotted time was up. Music was okay. The rooftop was overly packed to where there were times we could barely move. Not sure if I’d come back anytime soon. Also when you arrive, there’s a sign outside that says valet. Yeah no - that part is only for Ubers to drop off people. They’re going to redirect you to a little more up the street to a sign that says “self parking” and you pay $10 to park there.
Maria and Nico were amazing! Talk about an anticipation of needs. Some of our party staggered in, which I think is so uncouth, but they rolled with the punches and even managed to get the check divide perfect on very first try. My water glass was never empty of water. The place was packed but my wait wasn’t overly long. I truly enjoyed their service and I cannot stress their efficiency enough. Thanks so much. Was a pleasure to be served by you. The ambiance is wonderful! The lighting is very low with heavy curtains to provide privacy and allow or deny access to different areas in the restaurant. The rooftop bar was packed with beautiful people and a great skyline view on the Saturday I visited. The crowd was mixed with some folks dressed down for a casual dinner and others in their stilettos to go for drinks at the rooftop bar. But please beware—it was busy. You can park your car in their lot just past the street sign. Parking is $10 whether you park it yourself or get it valeted. There might be street parking but I cannot imagine it will be easy to find a spot. There’s a few cocktails on the menu with mezcal tequila that are absolutely amazing. Don’t go asking for any Tito’s. This joint only has Grey Goose and Belvedere. The food was very elegant and pretty with some surprising flavors on some dishes. I had the oysters that were actually served raw with a house made mayo on top. Then at the table they’re seared with a hot rock! Very flashy. They have a very nice pickled, vinegared flavor to them that I found both pleasantly surprising and satisfying. We also tried the oysters and bone marrow. The mussels had some wonderful notes with slices of radish that seemed to sweeten the flavor of the overall appetizer. I had the lamb and my brother had the rice and lobster. I do not suggest the long rice and lobster but the lamb was a very nice portion. The pallet of whatever it comes served on is slightly sweet so please be weary of that if you prefer more savory notes on your plate. All in all I enjoyed it but I wouldn’t make it a regular on my date night.
It could have been a 5 star review. The food was good, not amazing. The bartender is the only reason I stayed. I had reservations for 2 on the roof. I am a good cook , so we really were going out for the view and the vibe.i spent money on an uber because my confirmation text recommended ride share because there was no guarantee of available parking. There was plenty of parking when we arrived!! Its only 20minutes from my house but there was a serious accident on Marietta Street. I called the restaurant to let them know we are on our way. I only got a recording taking reservations. When we arrived the hostess promptly let me know we were late , so no table. I gave my credit card info when I made the reservation which would be changed if we ate or not. I had to beg the hostess to check if there were seats at the bar. Luckily there was , or we would have been out money and no dinner. The bartender with strawberry blonde hair made up for the rude hostess. She happily took our orders and even spoke to the manager to get us back on the list for a table, without us asking... We couldn’t sit on the rooftop, so we were happy to eat at the bar. The staff and other customers were chill and nice to have conversation. Had I known I would be eating downstairs I would have never spent money on an uber and made reservations in the first place. Downstairs dining area was all cement. It looked like a Pep Boys after hours with tables, chairs and low lighting.there were not even windows. After dinner we looked on the roof top. It was so cool! Beautiful views and cozy tables and chairs, nice breeze. We could have enjoyed it, but we had to eat in the dungeon for being late.
I wanted to love this restaurant so bad. The atmosphere was great but everything else was off. It was absolutely freezing inside, most people were wearing their winter coats. Our food had great flavors but were all room temperature when they were served to us. Our appetizer was brought to us and we finished that and our drinks before we even put our food order in and the waiter didn’t check on us. We watched a meal sit under the heat lamp for over ten minutes before it was delivered. It was a Tuesday night, there were several empty tables so it wasn’t like it was super crowded. Maybe they were understaffed but it was disappointing considering how much money we were spending. We also got a text before about our rideshare dropping us off in a special lot and we got there and the lot was blocked off so they could not pull in and we had to jump out on the busy road.
Table greet was in timely fashion but when the server arrived ready to take the cocktail order we needed 2 more minutes and asked for just that. Unfortunately 12 min later we were able to flag him down and place that order. i say that to say the server was kind but 2 min turning into 12 was a bit dramatic. Food was good. Plate presentation was pretty. There may be an overuse of radish because it's literally in nearly every plate presentation. Drinks are delicious. I was happy to see an orange wine as well. The restrooms were HORRENDOUS. One had a broken lock so you have to use it fast in there or risk being walked in on by a stranger. That's a safety complaint I have. But the entire restroom area stunk so terribly and smelled much like..ugh I don't even know. Nevertheless I found out why. Another toilet was covered in vomit. COVERED. The floor was amess, the walls, all of it. So I took a chance using the one with no lock and thankfully no one walked in. Lastly, the most important reason I likely will not be back at night: The parking lot instructions are just as dramatic as the server taking 12 min to return to the table for that cocktail order. We followed them just fine, takes very little thought but takes very many steps. I felt like Dora the Explorer going down the sidewalk and down the stairs an entering the code printed on a small piece of cardstock handed to me by the man in the black hoodie who let me into the gate then opening the gate and walking down a sidewalk and more stairs...in my heels. Doable but not ideal is simply my point. It was just a bit much and I would simply rather not. Yes rideshare was an option but rideshare is also not a mandatory way to enjoy a dinner night out (for those who may think I didn't consider rideshare). I will probably return but only by rideshare or during the daylight if I drive. Or not at all. It was good but not sooooo good that I MUST go back. Thanks for having me last night. It was my first visit.
We came with a reservation of a party of 5. We were warmly greeted by the hostesses. I was excited to experience Palo Santo as a first comer. We dined at the rooftop to celebrate my sister’s birthday. We ordered appetizers such as guacamole and patatas bravas. Their rooftop food menu is limited and different from the restaurant menu. Our drinks were great and quickly served. However, leading to our checks being brought, our server asked if we wanted checks paid separately or paid as one . We responded separate checks meaning separate tabs corresponding to our orders. She brought one check while saying we can pay with separate cards. The whole ordeal was confusing so we wrote our orders and paid our separate bills. 3 checks out of 5 were wrongly paid. Our server wasn’t understanding and patient about the wrong checks. We also didn’t expect to pay gratuity on a party of of 5 since the website didn’t state any gratuity for dining in the rooftop. I wish we had a chance to resolve the issue with a manager. We were only sent parking information and dress code rules. We ended paying our wrong checks and stayed for the remainder of the DJ set session.
The food and drinks were fine but the service was very bad. The server kept coming to our table every 5-10mins asking us if we wanted anything. Almost felt like she was forcing us to either order more or get out of the restaurant. This is despite the fact that the restaurant was almost empty. Would not recommend I need to add more details given the almost ‘passive aggressive’ response from the restaurant. First of all, the response in itself speaks to their attitude of serving their guests. Secondly, I’m someone who never goes to the extent of writing detailed reviews unless I feel strongly about something. So here you go - at one point, while we were in the middle of having our food, the server comes to our table and starts clearing the food without even asking us if we were done. We had to literally stop her and tell her that we were still eating. Would you call this being attentive?? Also, coming to your table every 5 mins and trying to clear your food without even checking with you is not being attentive..it’s called being rude. You need to teach your staff to treat guests better. Instead of acknowledging this, the restaurant here is just continuing to be rude. There are lots of nice places in ATL that have exceptional service..pls do not waste your time here
I apologize for the length of this review, but I wanted to provide full context so that the experience is clearly understood. My girlfriend and I dined at Palo Santo for a 6:30 PM Valentine’s Day reservation. We arrived on time and were seated within a few minutes. The ambiance was beautiful and fitting for the occasion. It was intimate, lively, and well-designed. Our server started off attentive and walked us through the Valentine’s Day prix fixe menu. We made our selections and overall thought the flavors were good, though the portion sizes felt underwhelming for the price point. Throughout the meal, however, our drinks consistently took 20+ minutes to arrive, which slowed the pacing of the evening. Things unfortunately took a turn near the end of our 90-minute reservation window. I was aware of the time limit ahead of time based on the pre-visit communication from the restaurant, and I had already asked for the check before the 90 minutes were up. Despite that, a staff member approached us and told us we needed to either leave or relocate shortly thereafter because another party would be arriving and they needed our table. I explained that we were simply waiting on the bill and would happily move once it was paid. About 10 minutes later, our server refilled our waters, and I had to ask again for the check. She mentioned she forgot and would print it. Shortly after, the same staff member returned, insisting we move immediately. At that point, our server came with the bill. I handed over my card, and both staff members had a brief disagreement in front of us about how to handle the situation before walking away with my card. While we were still waiting for it to be processed, a third staff member came and told us to leave the table. I had to explain again that they still had my card and I was not leaving without it. After going back and forth with the hostess, we were told we could wait anywhere except our table, so we stood by the bar for about 15 minutes until my card was finally returned. Being asked to vacate a table while the restaurant still had possession of my card was frustrating and unnecessary. To add to that frustration, the final bill included a mandatory 20% gratuity regardless of party size, with an additional tip line underneath. This was not communicated in any of the emails or texts leading up to the reservation and was only noted in small print at the bottom of the main menu. No staff member mentioned it either. Palo Santo clearly aims to present itself as an upscale dining experience, and the ambiance and food quality support that. Unfortunately, the rushed handling at the end of our meal, internal staff disagreements in front of guests, and lack of transparency regarding the automatic gratuity overshadowed what started as a very nice evening.
waitress was rude. service is only good when it comes to filling your water cup. food is pretty mediocre as well and only the presentation is pretty. service is generally horrible as most waitresses there are blatantly rude and have an attitude + they check on you every 5 minutes and basically make you feel like you need to get out of the restaurant asap even though there are literally no guests around. kind of feels like they don’t care if they’re not doing well on a particular day. kinda sad. there are definitely better places in ATL.
I had very high expectations for this place. I had come here once with a group of friends in the summer and they had really good music. I came here to celebrate my wife’s 30th birthday with a group of friends. I made a reservation about two weeks in advance and we were hoping to get good drinks and good vibes and celebrate my wife. The wait staff was nice and polite to us, but the bartender seemed not too interested in making drinks. We had ordered pretty basic Christmas theme drinks from the menu and we had told the staff that it was my wife’s birthday, but to our surprise that only my wife’s drink wasn’t well-made. We ordered the hot Christmas cocoa, which was really cold and they said that the kitchen was no longer open so they could not make hot cocoa. We then requested a Hugo spritz from the bar, after waiting for half an hour we were told that they did not have ingredients for it. They did apologies but they said that there’s nothing they could do. We were disappointed because this was a special occasion for us, but we will not be coming back here. Hope this review helps other people.
I attended a paid, private rooftop event at Palo Santo, and the way the entrance was handled was completely unacceptable. My name was on the guest list, but due to a minor typo, the hostesses refused to give me the drink ticket I had already paid for and sent me to the back of the line instead of resolving it on the spot. When I returned, the situation escalated unnecessarily. A bouncer informed me that I needed to apologize to the hostesses and that I could either do so or leave. This level of attitude and lack of professionalism is especially disappointing given that the space was rented for a private event. Guests who have already paid should not be treated this way over a simple administrative error. Mistakes happen. Poor customer service and dismissive behavior do not. For a venue that markets itself as upscale, this experience fell far short of expectations.
