Food was good, music was a little loud. I like K-pop but it was a little spicy in my ear. Definitely coming back! Dinner date for 4!
My dine in experience here has always been amazing! Our waiter Sofia has always been fabulous. We absolutely love it here! Sushi is so fresh and taste so good!
This is so random, but my partner and I were in the middle of moving out of our house and someone from Facebook Marketplace had come an hour early to our house after we had just sat down to eat here. The restaurant was so sweet and said they would hold our table and they did!! If that isn't just good humans <3 We got back an hour before closing and they had run out of a few menu items, so just a heads up if you're really set on something to book a resy and go for an earlier dinner. But I didn't mind because it meant I would try something new and also that their ingredients are fresh. Highly recommend trying this place, it's good food, people, and a cozy atmosphere!
This place is so special! The food is so fresh & delicious & I love the atmosphere they have curated with the decorations & seating arrangements. And it's so homey. We find ourselves coming here at least two times a month. An absolute must if you are looking for authentic Korean food in Austin!
Oldest sushi bar in Austin! Love this spot! Total hole-in-the-wall find. The sushi 🍣 is nicely and authentically cut. Little bite-sized portions—just as sushi is supposed to be! Like the perfect bite. They even have a couple of proper Japanese-style dining tables. They also have booths. It’s intimate and just so nice. And it feels comfortable and casual. Really great atmosphere, particularly while eating. Great spot for a date night or for family and friend gatherings. Located in a little car parking lot that doesn’t look like much. The outside, however, is hiding a right little gem. Food is good, service is good. I honestly can’t believe I found this place—proper secret spot.
DK Sushi is an absolute gem. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by its eclectic energy—an atmosphere that manages to feel both surreal and inviting. The vibe is unlike anywhere else, elevated by perfectly curated 80’s beats that set the tone for an unforgettable evening. I ordered a glass of wine, the rainbow roll, and miso soup, and every bite (and sip) was spot on. The sushi was fresh and vibrant, layered with care and flavor; the miso was soothing and perfectly balanced. Service was seamless—ordering through the app felt modern and efficient, and before I knew it, food and drinks appeared as if by magic. What I especially love is that DK Sushi delivers more than just a meal—it’s an experience. I left already planning my next visit, and next time I’ll be fully embracing the Japanese style by dining on the floor. A must-visit for anyone craving delicious sushi with personality, energy, and an atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else.
Fantastic spot. Tucked away and easily missed, but a wonderful experience. I'm not an expert or anything but the gyoza and sushi are excellent, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the music slaps. Come in, hang out, chat with your friends and family, or hang out solo and vibe. An amazing place.
I've lived around this place for so long I so mad at myself for taking this long to come here. This place is amazing I can't wait to come back I had such a great time being here that I want to try so much more they have on the menu I'm going to keep this short and basically say y'all need to try this it's so good everything is how it should be and there's a reason why people have given this place great reviews.
We stopped by on a Monday evening and were seated in their lovely tatami room. It was a cozy dining experience. Ordering was extremely pleasant too. All we had to do was scan the table's QR code, pay in advance, and wait for food to come to us (which didn't take long despite the restaurant being busy!) When an item was out of stock, the server kindly informed us and refunded it immediately. I'm glad I stopped back by DK Sushi! ❤️
Very authentic place, so nice with delicious food! Our dishes were appetising with a great taste. I highly recommend to order Bibimbap, it is served in the hot stone bowl with a set of small side dishes. It is so delicious because a stone bowl slowly cooks the all ingredients and crisps the rice when you eat. Sushi roll was delicious as well. We ordered a Texas Roll, it is a big futomaki with different kind of fish and tempura shrimp. This place is not so big but definitely worth to visit! Great service, calm and nice atmosphere.
This place is a hidden gem and the best sushi and Korean food! It’s been around for a long time and everything from the warm vibe and friendly welcoming is so awesome! Its mouth watering sushi, spicy tofu soup, and the bimbap dish! Thank you for continuing the legacy of your family!
Great place to get sushi in a low key spot. I think reservations are highly recommended as this place is popular. We got there (called about 2 hours prior) and had a table waiting for us. The food is excellent but be prepared to wait a bit as this place is SUPER popular for takeout. I may try that next time. The rolls were all super tasty, the prices are good and the service is good. You can sit in the ground/on the ground for that Japanese feel but we opted for a traditional table. Sushi chef sent us a little something for the wait - super nice of them. I heard the Korean soups are pretty good here too- will try them next time.
Korean review: really inexpensive and one of the only places in South Austin to get your Korean food fix. I know other reviews had some service problems but experienced NONE of that. Greeted immediately when walking in, we picked our seats and had multiple staff during our hour and a half stay check up on us even with a crowd of others arriving after us. We got the Kimbap appetizer split it for two (was delicious didn't need anything else like a sauce - perfect on it's own!). I got the beef bulgogi and my friend the Rock Bibimbap with spicy pork (like regular Bibimbap but in a hot pot!). YALL LEMME TELL YOU this was so good. I was having an emotional experience with these flavors. Banchan selection was good too. 6 of them one of them kimchi. I don't know the names see pictures below. I'll be back for take out and eventually try out the Japanese and Sushi portion of the menu.
Parking gets crowded quickly, around 6-7pm are the busiest, I recommend booking ahead if party bigger than 2! You order via QR code, but the servers will come by very often to make sure you're ordering as it's a small place. Rolls and appetizers were very good. They have like every Japanese beer, the Lucky Cat and the Matcha IPA were good!
In Austin for a quick trip and wanted to grab some rolls. Since I didn’t have high expectations it was ok. Standard rolls and average taste. A bit heavy on the rice but at least the fish was decent size. I also ordered the Japanese gyoza, which is traditionally pan fried but they steamed it. Sometimes traditional is better 😉
Sushi was really mid compared to other locations within 30m. Gyoza was pretty good. Tea was scalding and extremely over priced as it was just a tea bag. I probably paid for an entire box. Aesthetics we're really nice but the vibe was killed by the true crime on the TV and pop band music. Service was quick, friendly, and helpful.
Food was tasteful and fresh. However portions were quite small for their prices. Hated you have to order online in order to get served even if eating at the place. You cannot order with the waitress, yet you pre pay a 15% gratuity and your check before even trying your food or drinks. They have cool seating area but is "under reservation only" even if you arrive and it was never used during your stay. And don't forget your mask, otherwise you cannot enter. 👎
Gluten-Free + Celiacs, STAY AWAY! Even the SUSHI RICE IS NOT GF!! This is not traditional, they add gluten to make things cheaper and/or easier. Sounds like lazy cooking to me, which means they take shortcuts elsewhere. This is NOT on their menu or website, so I sat down about to order and luckily an employee was bringing our waters when he overheard I was gluten free. I’ve been eating sushi for 20 years, gluten free for 18 yrs, Ive never heard of sushi rice that wasn’t gf. What an easy way to alienate a whole group of people that otherwise would be able to eat at your restaurant. Not to mention, if you dont have that info available, you are making people sick. This was my second attempt to eat here. My first attempt to eat here, 4 of us came in about 50mins before closing. They told us they were out of sushi and basically most of the menu, and that it was essentially our fault for coming so close to closing. This was said with so much attitude, I was ready to never try this place again. Cute spot, but unfortunately my intuition was correct. I won’t be back here and I will be posting on every gluten free/celiac website to make sure people aren’t unknowingly hurting their bodies coming here.
