The food and the atmosphere was amazing! Our server Gus was great. This was our first time here and I ordered off the secret menu! Thanks Chef Mina for amazing authentic food.
Absolutely loved it. I had no idea what I was ordering though lol. I ended up getting the MLK, which is a really spicy habanero base. Couldn't have been better. Such a good random find.
This place is fantastic! Weve been in Austin 8 years trying to find a spot that reminds us of our home town which is very authentic mexican chliaquiles and let me tell you...this is it! The serving sizes are HUGE! Service was the best we've had in Austin. Most places here are very rude and unnatentive. The service here was insanely good. Servers are so happy and upbeat. You can tell they love their job. We will come back here many times for sure.
It was a unique experience, an otherwise simple delivery to Mexican classics and then some. The urban atmosphere that would easily be missed if not by its trending prowess and notable foodie fans (regulars). The food was delicious and on point all the way, we had the michelada ,183 and longhorn chilaquiles. The service was timely and attentive. Definitely worth being anyone’s default breakfast/ brunch spot.
This place is truly amazing, they truly capture what it is to make an authentic Mexican artisan dish. They not only have tortas, tacos, hamburgers, but they truly have chilaquiles made with love! they have various sauce options and spice levels as well as if your not feeling salty there’s a unique sweet option acquired to your comfort that will have you wanting to come back the next day. The staff is incredible truly so welcoming and accommodating there is no other restaurant worth the wait than this one right here, if your a tourist visiting Austin or missing a piece of traditional Mexican food this restaurant is a MUST TRY!!!
I travel frequently between Dallas, Austin & San Antonio and this is definitely one of the gems I’ve found. The food is amazing and authentic Mexican food. Be prepared for a wait time because the restaurant is that popular frequently but you won’t be disappointed. Chef Mina runs a great establishment here with amazing food and her staff gave great customer service. HIGHLY RECOMMEND and I’ll be back many times!!
I slept on this place way too long. It’s a small location but clearly a neighborhood favorite given how packed they were. Prices were great given the portions. Sauces were flavorful with a solid spice. Dishes were great to look at and tasted even better. Had the guacamole, Migas, and Chorizo Migas, all fresh and tasty. They deserve a space even double the size for what they are doing and definitely worth trying if you haven’t yet.
It’s truly a must visit spot in Austin, TX!! I had an excellent experience at this restaurant full of history. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the Longhorn Chilakillers Level 2 were outstanding. For the quality you get, the prices are very affordable plates could be enough for two people. Every bite reminded me of breakfast at a mercado in Mexico, authentic, comforting, and full of flavor. I’ll definitely be coming back, and recommend as a can’t miss when visiting Austin, TX
This was my first time visiting Los Chillakillers. It definitely lived up to the hype! Every time I’ve been in this area of Austin, I’ve been tempted to stop by, and I’m so glad I finally did. The food was amazing, my plate was big enough for two people, and everything was full of flavor. The chilaquiles were perfectly made, and the beans were like the cherry on top. The service was excellent too, the guy who helped me was very attentive and friendly. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere, great energy and even better music! It was so pleasant that I stayed a little longer just to soak it all in after finishing my meal. Without a doubt, I’ll be coming back on my next trip to Austin.
We love Chilaquiles!!!! When we saw this restaurant we knew we had to try the Chilaquiles. We were very impressed. The texture and flavor was perfect. There are so many options for sauces and toppings but we kept it simple. We would highly recommend and will be making this our weekend breakfast spot!
Delicious hibiscus tea! Excellent service. I just stopped in for a quick drink and this little spot has great energy and vibe. The owners are very kind and friendly. Really made me feel comfortable. I will definitely be back to try their brunch menu. 5 stars all the way 👍😉
We had a great experience at Los Chilakillers! The chilaquiles were delicious—full of flavor and perfectly balanced—and the torta was just as impressive. Portions are generous, so come hungry. Service was friendly and attentive, making the whole visit even better. Definitely a spot we’ll be returning to!
By far the best Chilaquiles I’ve ever had!!! I came all the way from New York and my friend all the way from Monterey just to try chef Mina’s famous chilaquiles. We waited over an hour but it was more than worth the wait!!! Immediately after sitting Valerie came to empathize and make us feel at home. The staff all knew about our wait and all were involved serving including the Chef who came to personally serve us and recommend her home made FLAN 🍮 for desert. It certainly did not disappoint!!! Highly recommend this place.
It was certainly worth the stop. We ventured into Austin for a quick errand, but we decided to take a 30-minute drive to sample the chilaquiles, and they were excellent. It was wonderful to observe the chef interacting with and welcoming guests throughout the restaurant. The chilaquiles were delicious, and I appreciated the customization options; the servers were also incredibly helpful with their recommendations and attentive service.
Amazing service and foods! The servers here are so friendly and provides great suggestions. The chilaquiles are delectable (def the best in Austin) and the portion is very generous! It is a popular restaurant on the weekend but it totally worths the try. I will come back and try out other food options for sure. Thanks Sergio and Chef Mina for this great experience. 😁
The Chilakillers absolutely deserves its five stars. I came on a Monday thinking they closed at 3 PM, but they actually close at 2. I arrived at 1:58 PM, and the cashier kindly told me they were already closing and couldn’t take more orders. I looked sad and frustrated with myself for arriving so late—I had been craving the best chilaquiles in Austin for weeks. She noticed and said, “Let me ask the kitchen and see what we can do.” I waited while my husband was also on his way from work to meet me there for lunch. A few minutes later, she came back smiling and told me they would take care of us. I sat down and was quickly helped by a super friendly server. I ordered the barbacoa chilaquiles with Longhorn salsa (my personal favorite), and my husband had the fajita chilaquiles with the same salsa. If you’re not great with spice, ask for the “no hot” salsa (it still has a bit of heat). We had horchata to drink and finished with a flan and a tres leches cake. Everything was absolutely delicious.🤤🤤 Can’t wait to come back. This place never disappoints. 🤍
My new favorite place to eat! OmG the food was so good! I usually take more picture but couldn’t help myself from eating immediately because it all looks so good when brought to the table. Their sauces are all incredible! I’m surprised this place doesn’t have 5 stars across the board on all reviews. I highly recommend you check this place out ASAP! Can’t wait to go back! My mouth literally waters when I think about eating here.
Really liked the Longorn chilaquiles. The only down side to this place is that its SO SMALL. If you have claustrofobia, this might not be the place to eat at. Its very compact, and you sit very close to other people eating
All I can say is that we waited for over an hour, and then were told we would need to wait even longer because some guests had finished eating but stayed to talk, and management did not ask them to free the tables. We were a large party of 13, and they were unable to accommodate us, so we ended up leaving. I hope that next time I’m able to actually try the food. Is a very small place and definitely people needs to be more considerate.
The menu does not clearly explain prices, just a plate of chilaquiles, that includes beans, chips, chees, cream, and not so good sauce is just under 15 dollars. Each protein portion is 6 dollars and up and small portion. I order chicarron that was mostly fat burn chunks. I order the 5 star hot sauce, that was not spicy at all. Also if you pay with debit or credit card an additional $3.11 charge is added to your bill. This is not listed anywhere or notify to customers. Chef tried to convince us that all restaurants do this sneaky charge $3.11 , not true at all. First time and last time I come to this place. I'm from Mexico city and the chilaqiles were a big disappointment and expensive version of tex-mex food. My bill was over 25 dollars for eggs, chicharron, beans, chess, mild sauce, and small bread. With a cup of water. I can cook the same plate under 10 dollars at home.
