Amazing breakfast tacos, very quick and easy line and pay line. My wife and I got the potato egg sausage and cheese tacos with the homemade salsa. It was amazing🙌 Definitely returning
Delicious, generously portioned tacos and other mexican fare. The ladies who serve serve generously and with love and pride. This is the real deal. I loved the carne guisada and the barbacoa. I also had a good chicken flauta. Pork in chile verde is also a totally great option. Vegan options available too! This place has been a member of the local community for ages, it's owned by strong women who give back and kick ass. Kudos to them!
Delicous food, Great people, happy invironmen, and the owner will put a smile on your face with her charming attitude. People always complain about the pricing but the good is well worth the price, you get more than what you pay for.
This place is the spot you go to when your Abuelita is sick and you want some home cooked tacos or Arroz con Leche. This place is the best. Not gringofied, or BBQized like other staple taco joints in Austin. The prices are reasonable , especially since they cram the tortillas full of what ever fillings you want.
Great tacos! Never disappoints! Family owned and operated. They are definitely worth every penny. Great customer service and my tacos are always served with a smile.
Hands down best breakfast tacos in the city. Cheap, fast, tasty... What more do you want? AND they'll do big orders on the spot, call a couple hours ahead if you want more than 100
This restaurant has some of the best breakfast tacos Austin has to offer. The pork tamales are hands down the best in Austin. This is a clean, well-maintained establishment that is very popular judging by the number of cars and trucks parked outside every morning.
I've been going Marcelinos for MANY years. I wanna say AT LEAST 10. I've never had a bad experience. No matter who is helping me they have such lovely attitudes and make me (a person who feels very socially awkward at times) feel welcomed. I hope they're around forever 🥰
AMAZING! Went there for the first time today and was blown away by the cashier’s kindness and customer service. Tacos were bomb! And it was super fast! Great energy in there, I will be back! :)
The best breakfast tacos I've ever had! I tried the migas and bacon and egg tacos and they were splendid. I even went back in to order another migas because it was so delicious.
I come here for ONE REASON....the BACON in their breakfast tacos. Spicy potato, BACON, Cheese breakfast taco is my favorite. I pass, literally, a dozen taco places to drive across town to get one of their breakfast tacos. Great service, generous portions, and not expensive.
Excellent service with a warm welcome and the food is homemade and always fresh. Some of the best tacos you will find. And they sale homemade tamales. Definitely one of my favorites.
The owner Raquel is AMAZING!!! She definitely has a kind heart.... She helped and gave to myself and my Co-workers 10 fold and we are very thankful and full😁.. Thank you MS. Raquel and the tacos were great
Best beans in Austin. They taste just like my grandma used to make. No other place has them like that.
Small local taco place. Early birds welcome! Great morning option. Close at 12pm. You can pre order by phone. Excellent service. Affordable prices.
Love the selection of tacos that are available. The staff is awesome and are fast to serve you. I always go for the asado de puerco(spicy pork) and the rajas with cheese, i also add bacon to it. If you see a big line you will know it has to be good. But the line moves fast so don't worry.
Marcelino's was a recommendation by a local, and they did not disappoint. Freshly made breakfast tacos that were hot and delicious. We tried several different combinations of tacos. My favorite was a huevos/papas ranchero/raja taco--those poblano peppers were cooked to perfection and nicely balanced out the potatoes and eggs. If I lived close to Marcelino's I would be visiting multiple times per week, they were that good.
Marcelinos is my go to breakfast taco spot. Amazing and inexpensive. Can be a pain to get sometimes because of their limited hours, but oh so worth it. It is better to go earlier than later because they will occasionally run out of ingredients like the papas and papas rancheros.
I have been going here for well over 20 years and it remains number 1 in places to eat for me. It is authentic and the homemade corn tortillas are awesome. The customer service is phenomenal as well!
Our first stop when we arrived from Indiana. Great breakfast tacos - I had chorizo and nopalitos, my wife the potato - and we greedily went through a half-dozen tamales. Haven’t had Mexican breakfast food that good since we lived on the Texas-Mexico border 20 years ago.
Best tacos in town. Oh it's all authentic. They use to have homemade tortillas but thats a small thing to miss. The place is tiny so come early, they run out of the good stuff fast. Papas Rancheros are my recommendation
In times of great sadness, mourning, injustice and anger thankfully Marcelinos is still open and providing in my opinion the best tacos in austin I have ever had. After over 10 years in austin sampling I have found my one location to satisfy my taco needs.
I love any place that serves menudo and calls me corazon when I am ordering! This place was delicious, especially their crispy bacon/ potato taco and the menudo. Elgin sausage taco was also a big hit. Wonderful woman behind the counter will help stir you in the direction of what you must try, but get here early! Loud lively music and a fun atmosphere will start you in an amazing mood for the day.
The food is great, staff are friendly, and it has a nice theme to the restaurant. They used to have sweet bread but now they only serve Tacos and menudo. The food is fresh and has a good homemade taste to it, and they offer three different salsas: one for each taco.
This small family-run restaurant is clean and welcoming. The workers are friendly and positive even though they're constantly swamped. The reason it's always crowded: delicious tacos. Mix and match ingredients. Each taco is generously loaded and fairly priced. You can ask for corn tortillas if you don't mind waiting a bit or request a breakfast bowl to avoid tortillas altogether. Be warned though: There's not much space, hardly any parking, and long lines. They close at 12:30pm, so some items start running out about 12pm. But the tacos more than make up for it.
Service is top notch. Very clean. Workers are very courtious and your Tacos are prepared exactly the way you want them to be. I especially like having a front row seat the cooking and building of those tacos being built. The tacos are the best tasting in the world👌.
I been coming here 23 years, I love this place, I call them family because they get to know the regulars. They care about you , I was caring for my Grandmother and would always ask how she was doing. I can't say enough about This family restaurant, I will be a Customer for LIFE. My kids first taco came from here and they won't eat tacos from anywhere else. My oldest is 25yrs old he was 1 yrs old when he had his first bacon n egg, cheese taco. I PRAY GOD BLESS THIS FAMILY ALWAYS. Stephanie
I've been coming here for ten years and in never disappointed. Now they're only open until food runs out or I think 1PM maybe a little later. Everything aside from the tortillas is made from scratch. The nopales are FRESH not from a jar or can. Tamales are good, the atmosphere is great for a whole in the wall yet homey place for food.
This place is wonderful! How have I lived around the corner for three years and never been here before!? The options for breakfast tacos are amazing! From spicy potatoes, to slow cook bacon “, chorizo beans, and everything in between. The prices are great, and service with a smile!
I moved away from Austin years ago and still dream about these tacos. Any time I'm in the city this is the first place I go! Crazy fast service, from kind people. There are tons of options for tacos in Austin but few can compare in quality to what you can get at Marcelino's. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I would pay twice what they charge considering the quality of the food and experience. A must visit if you're in Austin.
Absolutely delicious. Hands down the BEST breakfast tacos in ALL of AUSTIN! The flavor is amazing and never had a bad experience. Build another location in Pflugerville and I guarantee even more business!
Love love love this place, I live in the neighborhood and it was my first time here. Ordering online was easy, and when ordering online just go pay window to pay first and then you will get your food! The people working there was so helpful and friendly! They were working very hard, and definitely deserve being tipped well!
A coworker recommended this place to me and I finally gave it a try. As soon as I walked in the door I knew I had made the right choice. Everything is fresh and they put the tacos together in front of you. And boy do they stuff them no half filled bs here. The other big thing to was the eggs weren't all dried out like you find at some of these places. We're they cooked the eggs an hour ago and just sitting there waiting. All in all great tacos and the perfect cure to my hangover.
Badass breakfast tacos that will totally make your morning! Fantastic portions and flavors and build your own style so you get exactly what you're dreaming of. One of the places that makes me love the Austin food scene
My favorite tacos in Austin. I feel so lucky that I can walk here and enjoy their delicious tacos, salsas and friendly smiles and service all the time. Highly recommended! I can’t even suggest one taco to get because they are all so good.
Best tacos i’ve ever had. Service is 10/10. They are always very friendly and food is done fast ! Food is also always fresh and delicious. This place is like no other!! Definitely recommend. (:
Oh my God The corn tortillas are delicious and the staff is super friendly.
Family joint, unique scratch-made taco fillings. You know it’s good when there is a line of workers outside every day they’re open.
You can tell how good a place is by the number of City trucks that stop by and this placed definitely has them parked outside. You'd think it was a city substation of some sort. I live in South Austin and, although it's out of my way, I try to hit this place at least twice a week. Yeah it's that good. My go to taco...... the papas rancheros with bacon and egg with extra rancheros sauce. When I've taken tacos to work and they try my go to for the first time I hear comments like "That's the best taco I've tasted", and "That taco has so much flavor". Everything I've tried has already been excellent but they must put something special in their bacon, I just can't get enough of it.
Been coming here for about 30 years and they have always had the best tacos! Love the papas rancheras, rajas, calabacitas, all of it is so good! You can't go wrong!! The family has always been the best neighbors too; good people:-)
Family owned and ran place, with amazing fluffy homemade tacos with interesting fillings. Even if I get there at closing there is always something left. I will always stop in if I'm in the area and before 1pm. A gem in Austin. This is a no frills, very inexpensive place, and please support local family businesses.
One of the reasons I love supporting family and small businesses is finding hidden gems like Marcelino’s. Everyone in the store is so friendly and accommodating. I have traveled from San Antonio just to have some of their breakfast tacos. A great place with a warm environment. I tell everyone who is passing through Austin that they have to try this place!
Been coming here for over 25 years! Food is still awesome!! Very nostalgic and takes me back to when me and friends from the neighborhood would stay up all night just to ride our bikes here to get some of the tacos!! Whenever I am in the area I make sure to stop in!!
Their Breakfast Tacos are well known for a very good reason: They are fantastic! They are filling and fairly inexpensive. When you go in, the line seems long, but it moves quickly. You might have 10 people in front of you and 10 behind, but you still won't be in there very long. This is a must try!
I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and this is one of the few things that hasn’t changed in our beautiful East Austin, serving up the best tacos and salsa you can get in town. Bacon is crispy, eggs fluffy, tortillas fresh, you can’t beat it! I truly hope they’re around for generations to enjoy like I have all these years.
Delicious, hearty breakfast tacos at a very reasonable price. Super friendly service, and I appreciate being able to pick corn instead of flour tortillas. The three salsas were good--watch out for the orange one, very hot!
Marcelino’s in Austin is a taco lover’s dream—authentic, flavorful, and unforgettable. Each taco is packed with perfectly seasoned meats, fresh tortillas, and vibrant toppings that hit just right. The vibe is friendly and unpretentious, like your favorite neighborhood spot should be. Pro tip: make sure to get the Elgin sausage, rajas, and papas rancheros—they’re absolute standouts. If you know, you know. This place is the real deal.
You must get the Elgin sausage with spicy potatoes tacos loaded with awesome flavor it's not hot but the taste is amazing full with flavor if you love eggs like I do add to the delicious taco and refried beans you will be full for 4 hours lol check them out and tell them antuon sent you
I have been going to this place for years for my breakfast tacos. I love the breakfast sausage and egg, the bacon and potato, and the bistec taco. The puerco in salsa verde and the Elgin sausage is great too. I haven’t tried a taco I didn’t like from here. The red and green salsa combined on the tacos is fire. Love the aguas frescas or the Mexican coke.
I've been going here since I was a kid in the 90's and it is still my favorite place to get great authentic mexican food i the East side of Austin. Family owned business filled with love, since then and still today.
I recently paid a visit to Marcelino’s and was beyond impressed! I ordered an egg, bacon, and potato taco which was pretty unique. The bacon was nice and crispy. The potato’s were stringed and not your usual squared potatoes. Which i completely fell in love with! I highly recommend this place.
Delicious tacos for reasonable price. Perfect to take-out breakfast or early lunch. The staff is always nice.
This place has amazing tacos and drinks. It’s located a little on the east side. This place has great and professional service. The food is extremely tasty with everything made in house.
Marcelino’s is hands down one of my favorite taco spots! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and made just right. My absolute go-to taco is the egg, papa, ranchera, bacon, and cheese—it’s perfectly seasoned, filling, and packed with amazing flavor every time. The service is friendly, the portions are generous, and the food never disappoints. If you’re looking for authentic, delicious Mexican tacos, Marcelino’s is a must-try!
Best breakfast tacos… get the spicy potatoes… 😇
Some of the best breakfast tacos in Austin. Super fresh and a lot of options.
Tacos were Fantastic! I love this Marcelino’s the crew is always so welcoming and the food is tasty! Special shout out to Raquel!
Excellent tacos in a cozy, welcoming corner building with a short menu that still provides so many options. You can pick the ingredients for your tacos from a long list of veggies and meats. On first visit I enjoyed most the smoked Elgin sausage and the incredible papa ranchera (French fries with salsa). I look forward to trying more combinations! They have a few tables and counter seats inside. Outside there is a small free parking lot supplemented by free street parking. A review I read, probably from do512: At Marcelino’s on the East Side, the tacos are scoop-and-serve—made assembly-line right in front of you. But Marcelino’s is so consistently busy that they’re hustling and preparing food non-stop. You can get a basic bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast taco, and it’ll be far superior to most you can get around town—but Marcellino’s system allows them to have many more options that you don’t see often, like repollo asado (grilled cabbage), calabacitas (squash), rajas (poblanos in cream), smoked Elgin sausage, and the incredible papa ranchera (French fries tossed in salsas). We think about the papa ranchera a lot. Also, at Marcelino’s, the cheese isn’t grated—they peel a slice off of a huge stack and slap it onto a warmed tortilla, where it immediately melts
The sausage and egg breakfast tacos are amazing. The salsa verde also has good flavor. My big back will definitely be back 😎
Very sweet and welcoming staff and the food came out fast. This was my first time having breakfast tacos in Austin and it was amazing!!! 11/10
We were told by locals this was a must stop for birria tacos and this establishment hit the mark. We met the original owners granddaughter and she was so friendly. She pointed us in the right direction when ordering. Food was so delicious. We highly recommend this location to anybody visiting and wants great Mexican food.
Barely anything in these tacos $9, I thought it was a roll of tortillas at first. Two tacos and one salsa. Wild. I guess times are tough Update: i posted the original review after my second bad experience but then i returned and the tacos and not only as good as I remember from the early days but better. The flour tortillas are clearly better than before and the tacos just are the best. I was emotionally damaged after getting a few bad batches on different occasions because I would tell everyone in town this was the best tacos but you guys returned to form and just had a bad morning or two. So here I am eating my words and your tacos which is one of the last authentic things left in Austin.
Really I’m giving them 4.5 stars but I rounded up. So first off I love the idea of a takeout window I went at a non busy time and the ordering process was smooth and very friendly. The tacos were a good size and the flavors were all great. It’s hard to find a barbacoa taco that’s not too greasy and Marcelino’s has it. The breakfast tacos were real good and I’m fairly sure the tortillas are homemade or at the very least not mass produced. I will be coming back and bringing my friends!
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the kindest, warmest, smiling faces! I've had their food before since my husband loves this place and recommends it to me all the time, but I had never been myself, until this morning. Oh man, did I LOVE it! It seriously feels like you're walking into your grandmother's home and the food is amazinggggg! The way I was treated was just the cherry on top of the whole experience. * I had the bacon, egg, cheese, potato taco.*
Sorry to be one of the few more in love with this place. Just nothing special. Great charm and friendly team, but tacos not particularly special. Compared to Nixta, my score would be even lower. But I think it's in line with Veracruz quality but missing the cute lot in which to wait.
Fantastic breakfast tacos on fresh flour tortillas. You'll be spoiled for choice when making your selection. You can eat there sitting at the shareable tables or take your tacos to go. Papas Rancheros (spicy potatoes) is nice addition to normal taco ingredients for selection. The combinations are almost endless. Happy eating.
Get taco but need more in them for the price I pay...but over all great taco
Truly unique. Truly authentic. Truly just plain GOOD TACOS. Inside this small storefront on the east side we were introduced to a great Austin grab and go breakfast. We got our money's worth along with full stomachs
I went for the first time this morning and it was woth the drive. The menu was a little limited and no indoor seating but the team they have is doing a great job. The migas tacos were good and filling and the red salsa was flavorful. I'll definitely be back again.
The employe's are very nice and there Tacos are so delicious and always wrapped up neat. If you want great home made tacos try it you won't be disappointed. Love them 🌞🥰😋
Breakfast tacos here.... amazing. I had a chorizo and breakfast sausage. They also have good coffee. 🤗
Great spot for breakfast tacos, good prices too. Definitely recommend
Crowded on the weekend, for good reason. My first time in a few years and was better than I remembered. Got my standard bacon and egg on flour and chorizo and egg on flour. One of the few places where I liked the bacon a little better. Lots of crumbled bacon. Chorizo was good also. Flour tortillas were properly warmed and crisped up. Very nice thickness. A note on the salsas. The green salsa has almost no flavor. The red is fine and the orange packs a nice punch, but avoid the green. They also offer $5 off to sign up for their text mailing list.
So this morning i called to place an order for some tacos. I didn't know that they stop taking call in order's! My grandson was asleep so just wanted to get and go! So they tell me we don't take call in order's we are fully staff no line and no wait!!! Well there was a line and i waited about 8 to 10 minutes!!! And then noticed no handicap capabilities????? Humm i saw a 60 minutes last night and saw how people were going around looking for infractions towards handicap people!!!! And getting rich from it!!!!
Solid choice for a quick breakfast taco after church across the street, the rajas in particular are rather special
The tacos are not what they used to be. The price has changed and so has the quality. Bacon is hard to chew. I normally get papas rancheras with beans and bacon and that’s been my go to order for the past 8 years and this morning I was disappointed in a spot I used to be obsessed with. 😓
Love this place, probably some of the best tacos. I'll give it 3.5 total stars for taste and for what you get. But, it's inconsistent with how much food they put in your tortilla. Sometimes I feel like I'm paying for a taco that's $1.50 instead of $3.46. If you purchase a meat taco that's $3.46, your tortilla shouldn't wrap hallway around the other side. There are other places that fill your tortilla completely for $2.50.
I'm very disappointed. When they said if I wanted cheese, I thought it was going to be shredded or mixed. It was just a slice of American cheese. The tortilla was really disappointing, and everything seemed overpriced. I paid 20 bucks for 3 tacos with cheese and juice. The chorizo was more like a 3/5, so it's not that bad. Parking is awful, but that's austin. The lady who took my order was nice.
Used to come here all the time and would receive full tacos at a cheaper cost. Now I'm ordering a $6 slim taco. Don't think I'll ever make it back here again. Over priced for the amount of food.
Place was recommended to me unfortunately it missed the mark. The chorizo and egg taco was SO GREASY the entire tortilla was covered in greasy! I got another taco but forgot the name but it was bland and tasteless and again greasy and soggy. Tortillas were homemade but nothing to write home about. Salsa was bland and tasteless as well!
I'm disappointed in this business not having a phone number to reach out to them. I ordered 2 tacos since this was my first time there. I ordered a beef tip taco with gravy it was pretty bland but salt, pepper, and plenty of lime juice made it bearable. Then my second taco was a pork chop taco with rice and beans on the inside. The pork chop was over cooked and dried out with no type of seasoning. After I added salt, pepper, and lime I began to eat the taco. By bite three I knew something was wrong! My stomach instantly bloated, began belching uncontrollably and vomiting for over an hour. I have called the specialty EMS to my home for an IV to keep from dehydrating. Hopefully I won't have to go to the ER. Before calling the EMT I tried, zofran (3), zantac (2), pickle juice, and mints(6). Nothing is settling my stomach. I can't even get in touch with the restaurant to let them know that something isn't right with the food. I was hoping for so much more because after doctoring the beef tip taco I really enjoyed it. But I honestly don't enjoy the after effects. I feel horrible!!
4.98 for a carne guisada with cheese... Keep an eye on the cash register. The guy charges and then adds an extra fee and then a screen comes up to tip! No way! I don't know if they're taking advantage of their morning customers because I've only been there 3 times, all at 630AM and they're super expensive and from my observations the majority of the people there at that time are blue collar workers/day laborers. I asked for a refund because I will not continue to give them my money.
The cashier had an additude I ordered 2 bean and cheese tacos and 1 bacon and egg taco beans where way under cooked they use slice cheese so it's fake cheese . The bacon taco was nothing but burnt bacon and a tortilla NO EGG at all . Will never eat here again very disappointed
Born and raised Austin Texas 02..This place use to make home made tortillas and it seems like it's losing it Hispanic tradition..It feels like it's all about the money"SAD TO SAY"!!
Not sad to say this with a heavy heart. 1st thing is to never speak of GOD if maybe that person may believe in something greater or less! Now I say Me and family have been coming here since 95, when the mother (very sweet lady) was running things. I understand the name of game, me and family also run our very own little businesses but our most important thing at the end of the day is our customers. For the one who calls everyone Mijo and mi hija Please stop that!!!!! Speak professionally, we aren’t your kids! I won’t knock down the food, the food is great but at the end of the day I don’t care about food vs how you look your customer in the eyes and show the same respect they show you! Then have the audacity to flip your screen and ask for a tip. I’m glad marcelinos had grown into what now this new east Austin can have. I’d rather have decent people being kind then someone sitting on a chair just collecting my clams and skimping tacos for almost $5 dollars to constantly forget something in the order. I’ll be the 1st to say I don’t like leaving reviews, I mean me and my family live on the same block literally as this place. But I’ll say it for those who are not Austin knights you have no idea what I speak of. For those who do then I’ll say less. Ps No need for your feedback MI HIJA!
I ordered 2 bean and cheese tacos and the total cost was over 5 dollars. Definitely overpriced! Plus they used a whole slice of cheddar cheese to put on the tacos instead of shredded cheese which is incredibly lazy. Not worth the money. I don't recommend.
Not good mexican food. Not tasty at all
Like so many places prices up quality down. Been here for almost 11yrs and this was one of the first taco joints I was introduced to. Delicious, great portions and wonderful selection. Tortillas were the best.....handmade. All this kept me coming back. Having been away for awhile decided to take the drive for what I had know it to be. Having to wear a mask to order while I'm outside and cashier is inside behind glass is ridiculous. Probably because he couldn't understand me, because of mask, got my order wrong. When you pay over 12 dollars for 3 tacos and one is bean and cheese at least that's what I was given you expect what you ordered. The other two one ingredient meat (bbcoa)tacos were not what they used to be.... extremely greasy, very fatty unlike before and small also not the tortillas of old. Have no problem paying for quality but its no longer found here. I wouldn't recommend or be returning. Should have kept what made you one of the best. Original owners must have retired and kids took over.
My boyfriend ordered some breakfast tacos, 6 to be exact. He even tipped them and we were excited to eat when he got home. When he got home and opened the bag we were missing two tacos, we tried calling and it went straight to voicemail so we headed back together this time. We told what happened they checked and took a while to come back. Are tacos that we got the first time were already getting soggy and by the time the ones they missed came out, they were disgusting. I asked for them to remake it as it isn’t fair to us who paid for all 6 tacos in the first place to be left with soggy tacos after having to come out of our way to get it fixed. They wasted my time, my gas and my money. Poor customer service, they could had easily made this right. She said she would have to charge me to remake them! Never ordering here again, and if you order here check your food before you leave, don’t trust their word
