My mother and I love going to La Costa, especially during lunch and ordering off their lunch specials. You can't beat their food at their prices 💚

Great atmosphere, friendly and efficient service and delicious dishes. Las Palmas con Camaron was very good. Our server Ricardo was friendly and welcoming. Love the large interior space! What a great place!

Tianee is a really good server. Food was delicious. I love the shrimp cocktail.. Went with the family it was so busy so we sat at the bar for 20 minutes. Tried the mango margaritas. I was impressed. Great atmosphere though they closed at 10. No rush on getting us out. Clean establishment. Will return when I come back to California

Great dining experience. Excellent food. Every plate orders was flavorful. Great atmosphere. Attentive and friendly staff.

Always love the fish tacos here. I've never had a company about service. Wait can be over 30 minutes but it's usually dinner time or happy hour. Will definitely come back here. It's become our "usually" place especially if we're craving fish tacos.

We were party of five.. The evening started out great appetizer and drinks. We ordered and hadn't even received our meal when the server gave us the bill?? Strange? I usually have 2 cocktails and I was still on my first and he gave us the bill? We asked why? It was Strange. He said oh no reason ?? Then came our meals all of us were served but my Grandson? The server asked if everything was OK? My son said excuse me but his son doesn't have his meal?? He went back to the kitchen and I guess he didn't put it in?He came back about 10 minutes later and again asked how my grandson wanted his steak cooked when he had already told him before when we all had ordered.. In the meantime the rest of us were almost finished with our meal. There was never an apology. It turned out to be a bad night to a good meal. Everybody does have mistakes made but it just made an excellent tasting meal not as enjoyable. We will go back hopefully we will not have any issues.

A Seafood Oasis in Bakersfield's Ice House I was returning to San Francisco, and on my way through Bakersfield, I decided to take some extra time for lunch. Looking online for a new place to try, I found La Costa Mariscos an interesting option. The restaurant is in a historic brick building called the Ice House. It serves hacienda-style Mexican food, and the menu is rich with fish and seafood. When I got there, the place was packed. The hostess asked me if I wanted to sit at the bar, and I said yes. I had no idea what to order, so I asked the waitress, a charming young lady, to suggest something. She hesitated, so I asked for her favorite and assured her I was not a picky eater. She suggested something Colorado; I am unsure if it was Chili Colorado or something else, but I wanted it with the "steak" option, not chicken. While waiting for my meal, I looked around. The building is spacious and fascinating, and the interior is colorful and friendly. My lunch was so delicious, and I was so pleased that I ordered one to go. While waiting, I indulged in my favorite Mexican dessert, flan! I left the Ice House with a full belly and fully satisfied with my choice. The place is beautiful, the service is excellent, and the food is delicious.

We do road trips through Bakersfield a lot and always stop here for lunch or dinner. The food is great and the service is always friendly. This time, however, they didn’t put our name on the list when we got there so our wait time ended up being a long time. But once we were seated it was a good experience. Husband had the shrimp cocktail (which is what I typically get) and it was fresh and had huge prawns. I got the Tropical Tuna for the first time. It was massive! Fresh fruit on top of raw tuna on top of ceviche. Flavorful and filling!

Paid $8.00 per taco, definitely not an $8 taco experience. Bought 6 Tacos and spent 58.00!!!! These were plain, unseasoned, and lacking in flavor. The tortillas were forgettable, and the overall execution felt rushed and bland. Sadly, hunger won over judgment, and we ended up with subpar tacos at premium prices. Honestly, Jack in the Box tacos might’ve been a better choice and that’s saying something.

I came here for my sister’s bday, she was so excited and telling my family and I that the food was delicious. Our server was really nice to us at first, very welcoming. However, when we got our food we noticed the food had zero flavor. I ordered the Salmon, I always do when I go out to eat so I could easily tell it had no flavor. Which is astonishing because the food looked great. Also, we weren’t even halfway into eating and our server came by several times to ask us if we were done with our food and if we needed a Togo box. There were so many tables available and barely any people so I don’t understand why they wanted us to leave. Staff kept walking by and just eyeing us. They did sing Happy Birthday to my sister and gave her ice cream so that was one good thing. We were going to ask to talk to someone but my sister didn’t want to make a big fuss. Overall, the atmosphere was ruined for us and it’s was disappointing. **It was interesting to see the signs that said “If you have a complaint/want to complain then you should head that way” which directed toward the door.

Dinner was served for everyone except for me. I was finally served my plate after everyone already ate. That was humiliating and was very rude on the restaurants end. It was my sisters birthday and we reserved an area a month beforehand, we brought balloons and birthday cake for her. The restaurant knew it was her birthday as well and brought out cake plates however they sang to other guests happy birthday but not to my sister. They took a gratuity tip that was not deserved being that I had to watch everyone eat dinner and I was unable to join them and eat too cuz they failed to bring my dinner. They did offer free dessert however we had cake there already. So humiliating to sit there and watch everyone else eat. And no I wasn’t going to have everyone wait until I’m served. Their food would have gotten cold and spoil if they had waited!
