Enjoy a wonderful rainy afternoon at this iconic Hollywood location Setting an outside booth under heat lamps and just enjoy the beautiful vibe and wonderful fish and chips and great coffee! Very courteous and prompt and helpful. Staff. Recommend this place if you want a touch of LA Hollywood with great food and service.
Went on a Monday without reservations. Parking=about $25 Meal for two=$280 tip and drinks included. Our bartender (Mikey) treated us with much respect and attention to detail. Our cocktails were made to perfection, keeping a great balance in flavors. The salmon here is one of the best ones I have tried in a restaurant. The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic dinner and the place was not packed when we went. My date loved the place and we might be back. Thanks for everything. The bar tender is doing an amazing job representing the establishment.
It was a really great experience going to Polo Lounge. The ambiance of the place is very nice, calm and classy. The food tasted good and the presentation was also attractive. The staff was very polite and attentive, the service was also very good. It is a great place to sit and spend time with friends or family. If you want to enjoy food in a good atmosphere in Beverly Hills, you can definitely try Polo Lounge.
I had a great experience at Polo Lounge. The ambiance of the place is very nice and cozy, it's a great place to sit and spend time. The food was delicious and the presentation was also nice. The staff was polite and helpful. This place is a good option if you want to enjoy food in a quiet environment in Beverly Hills.
The greater is friendly and cared enough to recommend an outdoor table because it was my first time. Great choice. The fish and chips were done to near perfect. My server Andy made the dining experience even better. He above and beyond and threw in a little soup for my wife. 5 star service from this gentleman. I highly recommend this as a lunch/dinner spot. Cheers!
We had an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food is outstanding — each dish is perfectly balanced, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and prepared with meticulous attention to detail. The consistency and care in the kitchen truly elevate the dining experience. The service is what really stands out. The team is attentive, efficient, and always ready to guide or answer any questions about the menu. Alex deserves special recognition: his combination of professionalism, friendliness, and deep knowledge of the dishes ensured our experience was personalized and flawless. It’s rare to find someone who delivers both skill and genuine warmth so effortlessly. The atmosphere also enhances the experience: clean, well-organized, and welcoming, creating comfort and an inviting environment for both casual meals and special occasions. What makes this service exceptional is the attention to every detail, from reception to plate presentation to proactive guest care. This transforms a simple meal into a truly memorable experience. Highly recommended — we will definitely return.
⭐ The Gold Standard of the Golden Age ⭐ There is a reason the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel is the last true survivor of Hollywood's Golden Age. It isn’t just the nostalgia; it’s the execution. I ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner here on a recent trip, and the kitchen is batting a thousand. The Breakfast Surprise: The yogurt parfait is world-class, and the pancakes are miraculous—fluffy enough that you can clean the plate without feeling weighed down. But the real shock was the chicken sausage. I’m a Texan and a carnivore. To me, breakfast sausage means pork. I don't know what possessed me to try the poultry, but it is hands down the greatest breakfast meat I've ever eaten. I even asked the waiter for the secret, and he admitted he’s been trying to replicate the recipe at home for years with zero luck. The Texan Concession: For dinner, the Tortilla Soup is non-negotiable. As a Texan, admitting that California does a Tex-Mex staple better than us is painful, but the Polo Lounge is the gold standard. Their secret seems to be a stock that is slightly thicker than usual, delivering a depth of flavor that is unmatched. The Drink Test: Usually, I view "juice concoctions" as sugary messes to be avoided. However, the Pink Palace Lemonade is the exception. It is the most refreshing, perfectly balanced delivery system for watermelon and strawberries I have ever encountered. The Service: The service was impeccable and intuitive. We brought our 9-month-old daughter, and the staff seamlessly placed every hot plate and drink just out of her reach without us having to ask. The stars might come here to be seen, but they keep coming back because the food and service are actually worth the hype. 🍸🌴
I love this place! 💜 The best place for lunches in BH! Relaxing and joyful atmosphere. Perfect serving and comfortable tables. Kinda European vibe, like you are dining not in BH, but in Cyprus or in Rome. Hosts, waiters, even the cook are 20 out of 10! So much attention to every detail! Allergies, preferences, good recommendations, and they are really caring about your experience! 🥹 Such a rare thing in Los Angeles! Food is delicious! Every time they are offering me something new and tasty, according to my gluten allergy. I even do not check a menu. I know that their employees are always able to provide me with the BEST recommendations, and they’ll double-check ingredients with the kitchen. 🥹 Thanks to Liz for checking all the guests during lunch. It’s sooooooooo sweet! She is another reason why I love to come into Polo Lounge. This hospitality level is out of this world! 🫶🥹💜 Also, you will be comfortable at Polo Lounge even solo. Probably will be able to get a new experience, where only you are the amazingly treated person, who is able to enjoy a taste of every bite of food or sip of wine. No competitors or speakers on the table 🥹💜🍸
Another dining institution in LA. The Beverly Hills Hotel and the Polo Lounge are old school super luxe. They scream opulence and it’s very much an occasion place to dine. The service is impeccable. I ordered the seafood salad which came with generous amounts of grab, lobster and prawns. The portion size was huge so worth the USD 68. I was dining solo but also a good option to share. The patio area is lovely and well-shaded. It feels like part of a movie set and is definitely something to experience. Dress for the occasion - everyone was really nicely dressed, definitely above the ‘smart casual’ listed on the website.
The Polo Lounge is basically Beverly Hills’ version of a safari: instead of spotting lions, you’re spotting facelifts, Louboutins, and the occasional movie exec trying to sign a deal between bites of kale. The vibe is equal parts “old Hollywood glam” and “don’t touch that chair, Sinatra once sat there.” Now let’s talk McCarthy Salad—because this thing isn’t just a salad, it’s a production. They roll up like it’s the Oscars, and suddenly your lettuce is getting more attention than you did at prom. Everything is chopped so precisely, you’d think a team of jewelers assembled it with tweezers. And it tastes… annoyingly good. Like, “I hate myself for liking this overpriced pile of vegetables” good. And then there’s the iced tea with the Polo logo stamped on the ice cube—because why wouldn’t your drink come with branding? Honestly, I felt like I was drinking couture. You know it’s a classy establishment when even the ice is doing more marketing than your last Instagram post. The whole place screams: you are welcome here, but only if you don’t ask what anything costs. Bring your sunglasses, bring your sass, and prepare to drop half a paycheck just to casually say, “Oh, I was at the Polo Lounge the other day…
Elegant Dining in a Legendary Setting The Polo Lounge is a true Beverly Hills classic. The garden is beautiful, the food is excellent, and the service is top-tier. The whole place exudes first-class charm and old Hollywood elegance. Come a bit early to stroll through the garden before your reservation. The pool area is reserved for hotel guests, but with a bit of charm, you might just get a quick peek – and it’s worth it. A timeless spot for a memorable meal.
This is truly one of my favorite places in LA, maybe even in all of California. The restaurant is incredibly elegant, beautiful, and high-end. It’s located in a stunning hotel, and just walking in lifts your mood. The entrance always features a breathtaking, oversized floral arrangement that sets the tone. The host was exceptionally kind and welcoming to us. The food was absolutely excellent. I highly recommend the fish dishes and their famous soufflé dessert, unforgettable. There was live piano music playing during dinner, which I absolutely loved. It added so much to the atmosphere, romantic, classy, and soothing. The vibe is everything I adore: refined, relaxing, and full of charm. The crowd was very upscale, and we even met some lovely people during our visit. We sat in a private booth, which was very comfortable and cozy. Service was top-notch—attentive and professional from start to finish. Without a doubt, a solid five stars from me, with love. Even the valet was wonderful, super friendly and immediately available. A true place for queens. 👑
Originally opened in 1941 the Polo Lounge is one of the most famous restaurants in Los Angeles. Countless important people and celebrities have eaten here over the years and you can really tell that the walls have seen a lot of history. As many other reviewers will mention this place is hard to beat in terms of atmosphere. It’s located inside the classy Beverly Hills Hotel in beautiful Beverly Hills. It’s formal but more business casual, and the sort of place that would be really fun to bring a date. It is very lively and not the sort of place for kids as they have a full service bar and lots of people dressing up, chatting, and is almost high energy. It’s very large on the inside and designed well in a classic California style. There are many different seating sections such as the bar area, the main dining room (which is my favorite), and outdoor seating. There is no self parking available so it will be valet parking for $22. The initial charge is $25 but if you get your ticket validated it drops it to $22. Our waitress was very polite and everything that we ordered came out pretty fast. The only downside to this restaurant is the exorbitant pricing. Everything here is priced more than you will pay even in coastal Santa Monica. That being said it’s very hard to budget a meal here and is best used for a place to celebrate or just grab a few drinks. There are many famous dishes here and it’s always hard to choose what to order. For this visit, we started with the Tortilla Soup and the McCarthy Salad. The Tortilla Soup was very good, almost had a roasted flavor to it, but I enjoyed it very much. The McCarthy Salad is also very famous and is definitely one of the best chop salads that I’ve ever had. I think it’s probably the third most famous salad from Los Angeles after the Cobb and the La Scala Chopped. For my entrée, I chose the Branzino Fillet Unilateral accompanied with fregola sarda, roasted heirloom cherry tomatoes, zante currants, pine nuts, lemon caper sauce. I honestly really enjoyed it and thought it was a good sized portion. It was a large fillet, had great flavors, and was cooked perfectly. Finally for dessert I ordered their famous Soufflé and I decided to do a chocolate and vanilla combination, which I would highly recommend. It’s honestly one of the best Soufflés that I’ve ever had. Everything about this place is amazing except the pricing. I would recommend to anyone searching for a special occasion lunch or dinner spot and obviously to anyone who is staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel. It’s not the sort of place to go if you have a tight budget, but I believe that everyone should dine at this place at least once.
I absolutely love the Polo Lounge—it’s hands down one of my favorite spots in Beverly Hills! I’ve had both dinner in the cozy alcove and breakfast out on the gorgeous patio, and both experiences were amazing. Dinner started with a basket of warm, delicious bread (always a good sign), and I had the chicken Parmesan but swapped out the spaghetti for the rigatoni Bolognese—HIGHLY recommend that combo! The pasta was rich and flavorful, and honestly stole the show. There was live music during dinner, with a musician singing fun classics like Lionel Richie, which added such a fun and lively vibe to the night. And whatever you do, don’t skip the soufflé for dessert—it’s absolutely heavenly. Breakfast was just as lovely. We had a basket of fresh pastries, rich lattes, and fluffy pancakes. The patio is truly something special—surrounded by beautiful flowers and lush greenery, it feels like a little escape in the middle of the city. Can’t say enough good things about the Polo Lounge. It’s a must if you’re looking for great food, beautiful ambiance, and a little bit of Old Hollywood charm.
The Polo Lounge is a classic. Tucked inside the Beverly Hills Hotel, it blends old Hollywood charm and nostalgia with timeless elegance from a bygone era. The outdoor patio is especially gorgeous—lush, green, and perfect for people-watching. Service is top-notch and discreet with captains and waiters in tuxedos and suits, channeling mid-century nostalgia and glamour. The menu leans traditional, but everything is well-executed—favorites include the McCarthy Salad and the Dover Sole. It’s definitely a splurge, but the experience makes it worth it. A common haunt for celebrities and a place to see and be seen the Polo Lounge is ideal for a celebratory meal or for a fun night out.
I’d been waiting for the perfect excuse to visit the iconic Polo Lounge, and it finally came when I won a gift certificate for lunch at a silent auction fundraiser (it was the most sought-after item!). From start to finish, the experience was enchanting. Pulling up to the valet at the legendary Beverly Hills Hotel set the tone, followed by a stroll through the elegant lobby before being escorted to our table in the Polo Lounge. The ambiance was pure old Hollywood charm. I began my meal with the Pretty in Pink cocktail, which was almost too beautiful to drink. We started with a salad (chopped tableside, though I can’t recall which one), and then moved on to the pan-roasted Scottish salmon and Wagyu burger. Both dishes were flawless—perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Though we were thoroughly satisfied by then, we couldn’t resist ordering two desserts to take home. It was a sweet finale to an already perfect meal. Will we be back? Without a doubt! I’m already brainstorming ways to make this an annual tradition with friends.
The polo lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel is always a really pleasant experience. Service is top-notch and you can expect consistency. If you want to have a leisurely ladies lunch and enjoy the people watching, it’s great, be prepared to spend a ridiculous amount of money, but it’s a total experience so it’s worth it. You see a little bit of everything. Girls that are really overdressed, guys that are there to cruise and maybe pick up on women, and then just like a random mix of different LA types plus a lot of international people. Young girls that are taking selfies nonstop, it’s comical, but entertaining, but it’s a vibe and it’s fun to go every now and then!
I was really looking forward to my lunch at the Polo Lounge, and it exceeded all my expectations. From start to finish, everything was just perfect. We sat on the patio, and although I didn’t catch our server's name, he was incredibly helpful with the menu and polite throughout. The food was flavorful and of high quality. I’d definitely come back again and again.
Tucked away in the famed Beverly Hills hotel sits this wonderfully cozy establishment that has been here for many many years. The Polo lounge is a staple to the hotel the way the Beverly Hills hotel is a staple to Beverly Hills. It had been many years since I had been here so didn't really know what to expect. I took clients for dinner on a Saturday night. We had the following which I thought was very expensive - $58 for pasta (rigatoni Bolognese - no seafood), $46 for the McCarthy Salad - not as good as I remember it to be, $89 for the steak au poivre which was good and perfectly cooked although slightly peppery, chicken parmesan was delicious and the tortilla soup was also delicious. The bread basket they bring you in the beginning has some amazing cheese bread that is well worth trying. We did not have dessert as we were all full but the desserts looked amazing. The service is fantastic and the wait staff are very friendly. Make sure you get your valet parking ticket validated there so you get the $22 rate (cannot imagine what it would be without the validation). This restaurant is so cozy and the outside area is beautiful. If money was no object, I'd probably frequent this place a lot more.
I live not too far from the hotel. I stop by for breakfast at the Polo Lounge every so often. They have quite a decent breakfast offering. Most menu items are classic American staple offerings. Menu prices are quite reasonable , breakfast items are roughly $30-40’s. Presentation is top notch. The service is impeccable.
My mom and I had breakfast and dinner here on our recent trip to California. We had reservations so that part of it was easy. We did breakfast on a Friday morning at 8am, it was a very nice and quiet affair. We had a booth inside, very comfortable and well kept restaurant overall. Service was fantastic, very attentive and helpful. My mom got the eggs Benedict which she said was amazing. I got the two egg breakfast with toast, bacon, and hashbrowns. It was a very standard egg breakfast, nothing bad nothing outstanding. When we went for dinner, (Sunday at 6:45) my mom did the Branzino which she didn’t love. It was a super small piece of fish and the Israeli couscous came with dried currants which she didn’t care for but that was personal preference. I got the rigatoni bolognese which was fine. The pasta was al dente which I liked, the sauce was good but again, nothing super outstanding pretty standard. The fries however were fantastic, we were so glad we got them. The bread basket was also really good. We had preordered the soufflé when we ordered dinner but we had to wait an unusually long time for it to come out after our plates were cleared. The chocolate soufflé was good, but there was so much of it! The service was good as well but our server seemed a bit out to lunch. We finished all our food and the table was bussed by another staff member and our waitress just never came back. We were sitting and waiting, ready to go, with our waitress nowhere in sight or in another part of the restaurant for so long that the manager came over to thank us for dining with them but they needed the table so it would be great if we could leave. He was very nice about it and we told him we were just waiting for the check and we were beyond ready to leave! Our waitress finally made her way back over and she seemed in no rush. We told her we just needed the check and then we saw the manager say something to her, again no rush at all. We noticed this seemed to be a common occurrence on our trip so maybe it’s just a California thing. Parking is valet, $22 validated, $25 if not, which seems kind of pointless. The valets were so nice though! Overall, it was a very fun experience to eat there and experience that small part of the famous hotel but we don’t need to go back now that we’ve checked it off our list! I definitely recommend going for breakfast over dinner.
I really did not want to write a negative review about one of my favorite iconic LA things to do; however, my last few visits have been so lackluster. We had international guests in town who wanted to experience Christmas lunch at the Polo Lounge at The Beverly Hills Hotel. Being from another country, once currency conversion is factored in, the lunch amounted to approximately $700 per person, including one moderate priced bottle of wine and 3 out of our party of 5 had one cocktail. This is not about the money. It is about the standard of food being served and the general experience. On special event days, I keep my expectations quite low, but I would still hope that what is served is at least properly prepared and genuinely edible. I have never, in my life, seen oysters with so much shell in them, and of a size that made it appear as though the oyster itself had already been removed. If the intention was to serve Kumamoto oysters, it was sadly missed. Additionally, it felt that almost anything beyond basic buffet-style food was treated as an add-on $$$. I understand that crêpes and cookies for dessert may be aimed at children, but there was nothing delicious, elegant, or sophisticated about them — qualities one would expect from this setting and this occasion. Items such as the soufflé which we ordered were charged separately, which I don’t inherently mind — but guests do need to be clearly informed in advance when additional charges apply. In years past, the Polo Lounge was where I came when I wanted to feel really special and impress my guests with what I considered the highest standard of lunch in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, over the last several years, when I have brought guests, the experience has been consistently disappointing — and frankly, at times embarrassing and simply not worth it.
I grabbed brunch here on 01/18/2026. Let me start by saying the atmosphere and ambiance are unparalleled. But everything else was bad or unimpressive. For $165 each for brunch, you’d expect much better food and service. In terms of service, we had to keep getting the attention of our server because he would just disappear and forget about us. We had to call him over to place drinks order, and food order, and dessert order. There was no initiative by the server to actually take care of us. We even had to ask for a bag holder bc we didn’t know where to place a purse on a small table and the ground was dirty outdoors. Just simple things that seemed like hard work for the servers. I appreciate that they were willing to modify/substitute food to be more vegetarian friendly for us, but it was less than average food. Nothing was actually impressive or worth the money. Tbh you’d get much better food and ambiance for similar price elsewhere. Really hope they turn this place around for being such a classic
