Found this place on Google maps, we stopped here for Lunch on our way home from Vermont. This turned out to be a nice find. Very good contemporary interior, nice welcoming staff, great tasting food, wide range of vegetarian selection (I look for Vegeterian options). Very satisfying
The all you can eat lunch buffet was 14 dollars and they had 8 different dishes to choose from. The food was all very good. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was excellent as well. We traveled 40 miles for lunch and it was worth the drive.
I live in Massachusetts, near the NH border and anytime I’m within 50 miles of Jaipore, I must visit. It is better than any Indian food I’ve had in this country and in the UK.
Very beautiful establishment, offering an array of vegan, vegetarian, and traditional meat dishes. Every bite is delicious, and the staff is a delight. Anything with the tamarind sauce makes my mouth water!
We bought our house, in Brewster, in 1996, we have been eating at Jaipore since then. During Covid we got takeout several times a month because we wanted to support the restaurant. The atmosphere is very relaxed, the dining room has many table options, the food is ALWAYS TOP NOTCH for real Indian cuisine. When we get take out, there is usually enough food for two or three meals. Prices are good, portion sizes bug enough to give you lunch the next day, and there is always something on the menu you will happily eat many times - a favorite of ours is the Butter Chicken and the Mango Chicken, a new favorite, as of last night, is the Lamb Butter Curry Masala.
Wonderful dining out with 5 friends before seeeing a play at The Schoolhouse theater. Delicious foods- lots to share appetizers, breads and entrees- and leftovers for enjoying late at home .
The best Indian food I have ever had! Everything was delicious. The atmosphere is pleasant and so is everyone in the restaurant.
Sunday lunch buffet was delicious and full of variety. Lots of interesting dishes that you don't get at just any Indian buffet especially in the appetizer section. And the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I recommend a reservation if you go for the lunch buffet as it was pretty busy.
Have had dinner here as well as takeout numerous times. The food is always delicious and portions are large. Staff is very welcoming and professional. Would highly recommend trying out.
A feast for the senses! The buffet is loaded with authentic Indian flavors—rich curries, fragrant spices, and perfectly balanced dishes that taste straight from the source. Housed in a beautiful historic building, the setting adds charm and character to an already unforgettable dining experience. Warm service and incredible value make this a must-visit for anyone craving true Indian cuisine. Definitely recommend!!
Great family-owned Indian restaurant. Very nice sit-down a la carte restaurant. Delicious meals, great service, good ambience. You will not be disappointed if you enjoy Indian food. I myself was not a very experienced connoisseur of Indian food. However, I went twice during two holiday buffets and was able to taste a variety of foods to get a feel of what I liked. Jaipore does these buffets on major holidays, such as New Year, Mother’s Day, etc. they also do this on Sundays from noon to 3 pm and on the first full Sunday of every month. The rest of the time it’s sit-down dinners. Obviously, go for the staples, such as Chicken Tikka Masala, chicken tandoori, get the naan bread, for beer try the Taj Mahal. There are many other dishes, such as malai kofta which is a favorite, lamb madras and more. You also have to try the samosas. They have naan, which we usually get regular, but they also have a variety of flavored naan, such as onion, cheese-topped, etc. There is a varied menu. I edited my post and added pictures. I will definitely go back again and again. Very nice family-owned restaurant and you will not be disappointed.
Been coming here forever, always a lovely and delicious experience! The staff is so very friendly and, although the prices are up a bit lately the food is spectacular and 100% worth it! Edit: Beautiful new renovation and delicious food and excellent service, as always!! Here's to a happy 2025 and many many more, Jaipore!!
Absolutely delicious Indian food. What a treat to find this fabulous restaurant housed in an historic mansion that used to be the Charlie Chaplin film studio back in the 1910s. Kind, attentive service and seriously to-die-for food - especially the chili paneer and the sabji saag masala. Sooo. Good.
For the past four years, Jaipore has been our go-to spot for authentic Indian cuisine, whether we’re dining in or ordering out. This family-run gem stands out not only for its warm, elegant atmosphere but also for the consistently fresh, flavorful dishes that keep us coming back twice a month, without fail. Our host, Arun, is always a highlight of our visit. His friendly demeanor and insightful suggestions help broaden our culinary horizons, introducing us to new flavors and combinations we might not have otherwise tried. Some of our tried-and-true favorites include: -Cochin Lamb Chops: These two succulent racks of lamb are perfectly cooked, with a beautiful blend of aromatic spices like coconut, ginger, and curry leaves. It's a dish we keep coming back to for its tender meat and vibrant flavor. -Sabji Saag Malai: A delightful vegetable dish featuring a spinach puree base, this dish includes eggplants, potatoes, and cauliflower. It’s the perfect side to balance out the heat from other spicier dishes. -Chicken Madras: Not on the menu but you can request it! This curry is rich and complex, with the warming flavors of curry leaves and coconut milk. It’s flavorful but not overwhelmingly spicy, making it an excellent choice for anyone who loves a well-rounded dish. -Naan: Jaipore’s naan is consistently excellent, available in a variety of flavors. my recent favorite is the cheese and coconut. - Fried Poori: A fun and delicious treat, these golden, puffy poori are like little balloons of joy, light and crisp with each bite. -Masala Dosa: This giant, crispy lentil pancake stuffed with spiced potatoes is a must-try. It’s hearty and satisfying, offering a savory flavor profile that pairs wonderfully with the chutneys served on the side. Ask for a large one! (just kidding) From the food to the service, everything at Jaipore is simply delightful. If you're craving authentic, flavorful Indian dishes, this family-run restaurant is a treasure that we can’t recommend enough.
Incredible... nonstop delicious, rich, flavorful dishes, nothing you order tastes like it's every tasted before. The veggie samosas... mango lassis... paneer butter tikka... saag paneer... everything was delicious. And everyone who works there is so warm to you like you're welcomed into their home - an actual house, large, and full of seats by the window and so cozy. Can't wait to come back. Will become my weekly spot. 5 stars!!!!
We’ve wanted to try out Jaipore for a while, as it’s pretty close to Danbury! Getting there was easy and there’s ample parking for a Saturday night. The ambience is really nice inside! I ordered the rogan josh (comes with rice) which was super flavorful, and the lamb was well-cooked. It definitely is a big portion despite coming in a small container: save some for the next day! Would come again with a bigger group and try the cocktails. Thanks to the kind staff who showed professionalism and friendliness!
Well built restaurant in the 18th century house which has certain sections for an exclusive experience ( Romantic Dinner etc.) We visited the place ( on our way from Legoland Park) for a dinner stop and had a great experience with the food and personalized service. The owners are the ones running the operations and very humble and grounded. Coming to the food, Paneer Butter Masala, Mutter Paneer and Ghee Rice topped the taste for the vegetarians. Chicken Phaal, luchi Bagari ( Shrimp cooked in a curry) and Tandoori medley were the top picks. Please ensure to mention the spice level based on hot vs moderate 😀,( unlike other places where the differences will be Indianized hot or Americanized hot) Imli Baighan ( Eggplant Fritters) and Dal Tadka were not apt as there was a smell of oil ( which comes from frying in overly used oil) and too much cinnamon in Dal, However the support staff was kind to have that replaced and not charged for the replacement. Overall a good place to visit if you are in I84 E and coming back to CT from NY and want to take a quick stop for authentic Indian meal. The drive from the interstate junction and the place is 10-15 mins so plan accordingly, otherwise if you are around the village of Brewster or Fishkill do visit!!! Thanks to Mr Manoj and Arun for the warm gesture.
The food here is very good generally. I ordered a lentil soup today take out. The soup was very small, pretty bland and $9.75. I get this soup regularly from many Indian restaurants. Typically It ranges from $5 to $8 but for a larger portion ( take out). At $ 9.75 for a very small potion it seems extreme. As much as I once liked this restaurant I think I may be done eating here as it's just getting too expensive for what you get.
I ordered via uber eats and received my food early, which was awesome. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, raita, and garlic naan. The portions were also pretty good; awesome. But, the food lacked flavor; the chicken was both tough and in watered down sauce. I don’t even want my leftovers. I could not recommend this spot to anyone.
I used to really love this place and ordered from it at least once a week (sometimes more). And it’s just really gone down hill - things are either kind of bland (even if you request them spicier), oddly sweet, or have an artificial smoke flavor to them. Everything is oily, to the point where there are just pools of oil on top of the food when it arrives. Maybe I keep catching them on a bad night but it’s been often enough that the food hasn’t been good that I don’t think I’ll eat here again. People who work there are very nice and try to be accommodating but I think my Jaipore Era is at an end.
Hello All, I am writing genuine review here, by looking at the positive reviews, I have decided to stop by at this place. We have ordered boneless chicken biryani, lamb biryani and Jaipur meat basket. Please don’t ever try biryani at this place because they just mix white rice with chicken /lamb curry and say that is what as biryani. At the end I would say this restaurant is very expensive for me, I came from Connecticut.
