This became our little home away from home in busy busy New York. We have a 2 year old, and we love the upstairs eating area! We get a bagel each for $6/person and go upstairs to let her jump around and take a break from all the hustle and bustle. Downstairs remains pretty busy, and I wouldn't go here if we only had that option. Clean and well kept. They have restrooms that you can use the code from your receipt to get into. Customers only! The bagels are honestly nothing special, I would say an average NY bagel, but we went back every afternoon (4 times this trip) just to be able to take a deep breath and not have to worry about my child for a few minutes. Really friendly service. They have another location down the street, it was more crowded, smaller, and not as good service. Great location by times Square, the Manhattan hotel, and the M &M store area. Thank you Premier Deli!! Saved us a lot of toddler heartache in the city♡
I love it when the staff interacts with the customers. These guys do it well. They are at the cafe when I go for coffee and bakery at 8am and still there when I stop for a sandwich and soup at 9pm. Hardest workers I've seen. The food is fresh, delicious and plenty of it. Large portions! Great variety of food and a warm area to sit upstairs with no street nose and just some soft music playing.
This is why I miss living in NYC! Hot pastrami on rye with chicken soup and a peach Snapple arrived at the hotel within 10 minutes of our order and it was perfect with spoons, crackers, straws, napkins and pickles! not a soaking wet mess even though it’s the middle of a hurricane. Great food! Thank you so much!
Quintessential NY deli! We stopped in at Premier Deli Cafe every day of our trip! Whether you need to grab a toasted bagel with cream cheese, a breakfast burrito, or pastries/muffins on the run…or a full sit down pancake breakfast (even cereal for the picky kids!), this deli has you covered. Pasta, panini’s, deli sandwiches and chips for lunch. Cheesecakes, black and white pastries, cakes and espresso for dessert! Nice and clean upstairs sitting area if you have the time!
Here's a sample deli review: I recently visited Premier deli and was thoroughly impressed! The moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and inviting aromas. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about their offerings. The sandwich I ordered was expertly crafted and bursting with flavor. Fresh, high-quality ingredients shone through in every bite. Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food Quality: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Kayla Vasquez
This was my local deli while I stayed in a nearby hotel. I loved coming here. The people (cooks, cashiers, and customers) give you a glimpse of the true heart of NY. Must recommend the double egg with cheese, or a BLT - so filling and will keep you full well past lunch. Definitely check it out if you're staying nearby - you won't regret it!
UPDATE: If I could give ZERO stars based on the customer service I received today, I would. Today, 2/24 @ 9am, I came in to buy milk; I was not greeted by anyone, and there were A LOT of workers behind the counter. Notably, the two men and one woman at the registers were all frowning; perhaps they had just had an argument before I came in? I'm really not sure what their problem was The woman at the register made no eye contact whatsoever, there was no warmth or welcome in her tone of voice, and she basically slammed my change back on the table and pushed it toward me. Surprisingly enough, when a customer was being helped by another man at the next register, he smiled and greeted her. I even looked in their direction, searching for the hidden cameras to see if some kind of social experiment was being filmed. I'm human; obviously, we all have bad days, so I told the woman, "have a good one" as I collected my change, but she still made no eye contact or any gesture in acknowledgement. I guess you're training your staff to exclusively save their professionalism for tourists, so I know that my coworkers and I won't be missed... But we won't be back.
Plenty of options to choose from here: Sandwiches, Sub, Pastries, Desserts, Coffee. Nice upstairs dining area. We sat downstairs by the front window. Got a Sub and Iced Coffee both excellent!
We stayed at the Park Central Hotel which is only a few doors north of the Premier. Every morning, I picked up breakfast for my family and we ate in the hotel’s large bar/ dining area. It was so much more comfortable and less expensive than going to a sit down restaurant! The food was great. The service was excellent. It felt like an authentic New York eating experience! Avoid the chains. Go with the real deal!
Great bagels! All the breakfast platters and sandwiches are made fresh. Reasonably priced for NYC! Friendly and competent staff
Husband and I loved the wraps there for breakfast. We needed up going everyday for one. Bacon, eggs, cheese, avocado and sriracha. Topped it all off with latte, hot chocolate and juice.
Came here on a Sunday morning, and it was a nice New York atmosphere inside. Lots of people, buzzing kitchen, fun decorations, people on the street corner outside. Close proximity to Times Square, Broadway, Central Park and nearby Columbus circle. I ate my burrito on the go, and my only complaint was the paper wrapped around the inside, under the foil. I would recommend sitting down to eat this bad boy just for that reason. They also had a variety of other options that looked good. 9.5/10 🤠🌯
Highly recommend. Pricey (it is manhattan after all). We had the triple layer cake and Oreo cheesecake. New favorite desert place.
Wow what a great find. We were meant to go to the Loab Boathouse for breakfast but found it closed 2 days before, so we went hunting for a typical NYC deli, and boy did this deliver. I had what was called a Plate #5 that was a cheese, bacon and egg french toast sandwich (AMAZING). My wife had a chicken pesto panini (ALSO AMAZING). The cherry on top, as an Englishman in New York, was they had Tetley tea ♥️😍. If I am ever in NYC again I will ensure I go here for breakfast again.
Food was hot, delicious, substantial. But the kind and friendly staff made it even better!
Fire 🔥 it’s all I can say. The cooks amazing gentlemen well educated funny kind outstanding customer service. The pastrami sandwich 🥪 was out of this world made with love and the size of it was incredible. We flew in from California and we are going back tomorrow June 17th today on Father’s Day they made it happen for me and my family. I highly recommend you come to this place and by the way give those cooks a raise bc they deserve it. Outstanding guys thank you!!
Classic NY deli 2 blocks south of Central Park. They have all the classic options, the pastrami and the lox bagel were perfect. The best part was how fast the service was, no crazy lines like at Kats, and the pastrami was just as good! There is a large seating area upstairs. Best part is, you’re just a short walk away from Central Park!
Nice simple burger, professional deli. Great location between Central Park, Carnegie Hall and Times Square
Delicious food and very friendly staff! Will recommend and come back!
Great chicken parm sandwich, I was sorry I didn't have room for dessert.
I came here after having issues with another Deli in the neighborhood. As soon as I walked thru the door the register was in front and the staff greeted me nicely. I met Edgar and told him I had a large order. He explained to me to have everything written out in a paper 📝 and from there he placed my order. The food is made fresh while you wait and you get to see your food being prepared. I was amazed at how quick food is prepared at this place. If you looking for great food and you want it fast then this deli will be perfect for you. From now on I only go to this deli for food and recommended this deli to all my fellow workers and staff at MoMa
Absolutely the best coffee I've ever tasted!! I'm not even exaggerating, it's fantastic. My Reuben and tart were both delicious, too. The service is spectacular, and the shop is super clean. Definitely worth a visit, I've visited 4 times on our trip. They need a sign like in the movie Elf that reads World's Best Cup of Coffee. :)
REALLY GREAT!!! Our reviews had over 52 million in the last 12 months. We do not get paid we just love to eat and have fun. We really love Premier Deli. Family owned and run. Best coffee and bagel egg cheese in NYC. Grumpy Mikes fav egg sandwich is here. This is our favorite deli in NYC. Great Reuben. She loves the egg sandwiches there. All made to order and nice seating upstairs. Great coffee too. We love this place.. More photos next time but this is a must see. Much better than the other delis on Times Square for sure. This food is fantastic. Secret place to eat upstairs is awesome. Order down and take your food up. She loves the café americano with cream and 5 sugars and I love it black in here. Lots of flavor. Tons of great sweets in here as well and dinners to go or eat in. Family owned and they are always there to make sure every order is perfect. Check out all of our reviews and look at all the photos below. If we do not like it we do no review it so all of the ones you see are places that are fantastic. Follow us if you like. When visiting New York, if you're staying in Midtown there are not many corner store bodegas for you to get breakfast from. Everything seems to be a little more corporate in that area. But I found this treasure a few blocks away from where I was staying and it became my morning ritual. Their prices are a little high but the food it is absolutely worth it. Every morning I got a breakfast sandwich or some sort of breakfast item and was never disappointed. They have a cute upstairs dining area and the staff seem to be very friendly. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a delicious breakfast sandwich as they serve it all day and the rest of their food items are amazing as well. My mom got spaghetti and their meat sauce was sweet, which is strange to me being from the south as ours is salty. They have so many options on their menu, I can't imagine not finding something I was craving. This place definitely gets two thumbs up for me! Dew approved 😊 👍🏼👍🏼
Easy to locate deli serving a wide range of food from sandwiches etc and can also build your own. Quick service and a small eating area upstairs made for an easy dinner.
FANTASTIC..... nothing negative to say about this place and the guys n girls who work here. Huge variety of hot n cold dishes served here in a very clean diner. We eat out of here most days due to the variety and generous portion size. This place beats eating out of any of the big chains and is all fresh every day. Awesome place.....🤟🏴
We were planning on having breakfast at another place but found it was out of business. When asking two employees at the Park Central Hotel where we could get breakfast one of them pointed us here. A few bagels, coffee, and a muffin and we are happy campers. Friendly staff and quick service. The food was delicious.
We had breakfast the whole 5 days of our stay in New York and every day was amazing.! Excellent staff that was fast, smiling and really friendly.! They even went out of their way and talked to us in Greek in order to further help us.! Must try are : THE WHOLE MENU!!!! Really nice place and amazing food and coffee.!
This is where I go to get coffee whenever I'm staying at the Hilton, down the block. Their french toast muffins are my favorite thing to get here but everything else I've ever had has been good as well. It's very clean, and ran efficiently so you won't wait in line long.
First night in New York we walked past this place and I saw a picture of Howard Stern in the window. The family wanted to try a deli diner a few shops down. Second night i suggested this place as if it is good enough for the KOAM then its good enough for me. We went back on the third and fourth day too. The cheesecakes are amazing and the sandwiches are such good value. Combine that with a stereotypical New York style service to complete the whole experience. I would go back to new york just to go back here. If we had somewhere like this in England I would be there every day. Definitely recommend going if you are in New York.
We stayed across the street and visited this deli most mornings for breakfast and again in the evenings for dessert. Coffee was great, loved the muffins, bagels, sandwiches, and cheesecakes. Service was fast and friendly. Very clean and tidy space, comfortable seating upstairs. Great place to start or end your day.
Came here almost every day during our visit and it was amazing. The food was delicious and fresh, the portions were perfect for two people and a baby, and as long as you know what you want, you barely have to wait. Highly recommend, especially since it was so close to our hotel.
I have had several beverages at this place. They make mochas which is hard to get in new york. Although it's not as good as in Australia it is still good. American cafes use chocolate syrup while back home we use chocolate powder. Each time I have had coffee or English breakfast tea here I have been happy with my purchase. However I did have a rude and abrupt man serve me today. Maybe it was the 4pm rush or he was hard of hearing but his attitude was not needed. Do better! Customers keep you employed so it will do you well to remember that. I will be still be going back as I don't judge on one time incidents.
Iconic NYC deli. Conveniently located across for Carnegie Hall. Lots of space to browse the deli counter, and extra seating upstairs. Great place to stop and take a rest in the middle of the day. Food is good. Pastrami sandwich was pricy, but enough for two and came with two pickles. Staff was friendly. Pastrami was slightly above average, could be juicier. The pickle was super garlicky and tasty. Cheesecake was also good. Location great. Food good. People nice. Would recommend stopping here with no worries.
We bought 5 huge delicious muffins and a large chocolate croissant 🥐 for breakfast the next morning in our hotel. Oh! They were so moist and tasty! The muffins are large & the croissant was massive. 4.40-4.95 each which was cheaper than the deli down the street. The deli down the street wanted $6 each and they were smaller. We also grabbed a few juices to go. Nice men working behind the counter. Homemade without having to cook 💕 I will say, I read other reviews and don’t agree with their issues on pricing. Everything is priced on the board & you can also ask. Food prices are high everywhere & this is New York City, super close to Times Square so you have to expect that. Honestly though, $5 for a muffin is only .50 higher than my hometown so I was pleased. I noticed the amount of meat they put on a sandwich is very generous so I’m sure that makes sense too in their pricing. Good quality and good service at a prime location establishes the price. It’s a great value in my opinion.
Food is good Stuff member was nice Their deli was the first place we went to in New York While my mum was asking questions l, the guy said 'don't worry I'll look after you' we thought that was pretty sweet 😊 Breakfast, 1 apple juice and 1 tea came to $41 I thought that was quite a bit... That could be cheap but not sure 😂 Sat upstairs raido was playing and the TV was on showing the news 👍
Really enjoyed my visit! I had a coffee, a salami sandwich, and a cheesecake — everything was served quickly and tasted great.
Okay so, its not how it looks like, place was nice, service was nice, food was tasty, BUT, they show you a whole different size of food instead of showing you what you really are getting, I was very disappointed when I saw the size of my sandwich, I got the MonteCristo, and it looked huge, but I got a very small sandwich, paid $14 for it, that was insane. Anyways: Get them at your own risk
Just another convenient deli in the city. Great coffee, a good place for a small talk or waiting for a friend, didn't try the food, prices are pretty average like any other deli in the city
Good spot! I stopped by here on 2 separate occasions first day, We tried the pastries and coffee and next visit we tried different types of breakfast sandwiches with coffee.
We stopped in here on our way to Cental Park. I got a crispy chicken sandwich and my daughter got the American Sub, she got a smart water and I got a Pepsi. Our bill was $38. We love trying a different deli everytime we are in the city. The staff was friendly, it was clean, and the upstairs seating was excellent.
So this place is utterly chaotic in the morning 😂 we had no idea where to stand or what to do and we were just really confused. They were not patient with us at all but once we got our bearings and knew what to ask for every other time was fine. We were staying close by so came here for breakfast every morning. The food is tasty and fresh and there is lots to choose from. It is expensive if you get a platter but it was close by and tasty so kept going back, which I think says a lot. If you enter in the morning then good luck 😂
Premier Deli is a great place for a sandwich, something sweet or breakfast, which is served all day. They also serve pasta and hot dishes. Samples of the food are on display so you can see what you are ordering. Pick what you like and they prepare it to order. The food is served quickly and hot. Plenty seating with an upstairs area. A really good spot for a quick bite. My only concern was the pastries very a bit stale.
First I want to start by saying the cheesecake was the best I’ve ever had in my entire life. However I think the person at the counter charged me 18 dollars for it and I wanted to break down and cry (lol). However it looked too good to pass up so I gave it a go nonetheless. The sandwiches are good but not great, the service is fast and prompt. The cannoli was better than average but still not worth the $ . It’s a decent place to check out overall though for sure.
Food is good but expensive. And they won't give you ice water.
Very expensive a can of soda 5$ all i order was a can of soda and a Philly cheeses teak total $20 and hero bun isn't even a hro size total
Full disclosure, tourist review. I thought that the Reuben sandwich was excellent. Really good flavour and the bread was toasted really well. At almost $20USD, it isn't cheap but it also isn't the Ritz. Plenty of upstairs seating and washrooms for the family if needed. I didn't enjoy the corned beef. The cheese and coleslaw just didn't work for me. I would have ordered two reubens if I had to do it again. We also ordered a butter tart. It was okay, but nothing memorable. If you are looking for a quick Reuben sandwich, this might be your stop! Hold the corned beef!
I got off the train and was thirty. I bought a bottled water and a tart for $11. $2.50 for a bottle of water is a bit much. It’s in a touristy near right by the train station and Central Park so I guess. The staff at the register was a bit annoyed for no reason. I was browsing at their bakery section and no one else was around and he seemed like he wanted me to hurry up. People started coming a little later around 4pm on Friday. A bit overpriced, but I guess if you’re a tourist you’ll stop by here. There’s another deli not too far.
Once you come to terms with spending $25-$30 for a single real deli hot pastrami/ reuben / corned beef sandwich (with one pickle)... pretty much anywhere in NYC... you will have a standard reliable experience here. Staff weren't rude or rushing anyone to order... but they weren't friendly at all either. The pastrami was delicious, cut in half, and was large and more than enough for two people. Pickle was large and crisp. We mainly came for a cannoli and we're surprised at the little thumb sized pastry that greeted us in the display... but not near as surprised as when we paid $4.50 and it could be eaten in a single bite... that aside, it was OK but nothing special. The place is clean and has a very nice upstairs seating area. Bathrooms upstairs are locked but can be opened by a code printed on your receipt (no one tells you this). Overall it was fine but unremarkable.
Let's begin with this neighborhood. It is in my opinion that this area for many years has contributed to the Pastrami Sandwich. Starting with Carnegie Deil. I felt absolutely cheated having this sandwich in this particular neighborhood. Certainly, it was overpriced, but I gave it a chance. Although I knew instantly the meat to bread ratio was off.
Went in for a breakfast.. ordered 3 simple toasted sandwich,, 1 slice of cheese, egg and slice of ham, 2 cups of tea and a bottle of water ... then went pay only to be handed a bill of 71 DOLLARS.. now I know prices in new york can be high but this was a total joke ... 71 dollars for 3 sandwich and 2 cups of tea and 1 bottle of water is utter rip of.. and I'm from Ireland where our prices are very high... the staff were very courteous and deli was very clean but in no way was the cost of worth it and would recommend CHECK PRICE before you order ....
A slice of cheese cake (with Cherry topping) was 12+$ and it tasted just average.. There are famous and really good cheese cake locations in NYC that sell their slices for LESS. Just google "top 5 cheese cake locations in NYC". Also, a Machiato (coffee with chocolate flavor) tasted like bitter, burned coffee... not enjoyable at all. Not coming back.
As far as deli sandwiches and salads they are on the upper middle tier pricing wise, but on the bottom tier quality wise. A simple turkey hero super stingy on meat, stingy on dressing, bread is either old or bad quality. Hero + can of Pepsi = $20. Go somewhere else. 2 stars because the counter staff is very polite and extreme fast. I was in and out in 4 minutes.
so overpriced and dry do not eat here eat somewhere else not worth it. i had a shake and fries and it was over 20 dollars, sprinkles were from months ago they were christmas colors and made my stomach hurt fries were dry and unflavored. give ur money somewhere else😁 also so cramped and awful system. people were hovering us while we tried to eat
I came to cafe to breakfast and realized there’s an upstairs seating area. I needed a place to sit down and work so I ate the food I bought for $30 and stayed the table to work a little. The entire time I was looking around to make sure there’s seats for people that want to stay and eat. Making sure to be aware and not taking up a table for my work. At no point during the four hours, I sat there was there a shortage on tables. Additionally, I wasn’t even on my laptop. I was replying to a ton of emails on my phone. Add a time where there wasn’t even a single person other than me at a table at the upstairs seating area someone came up to me and told me I had to leave. I kindly said look I ate breakfast here. I’m just trying to get some work done. I was planning on getting some food in a sec actually to get lunch here just so I could keep working. They told me if I don’t leave they will call the cops on me. I entirely realize this is not a café to typically work out but again I emphasize not at moment was there a shortage on tables. Additionally, I spent $30 on two drinks and a pastry It was still trying to tell them “I’m about to get food can I just sit here and keep working? There’s no one here.” Didn’t really put up a fight got up and left, but I didn’t pay money and was planning to spend more.
Bought two cheesecakes because of the good reviews, but they tasted like they were almost spoiled. On top of that, the staff were very rude and tried to overcharge us. Very disappointing experience.
Very disappointing experience. The staff member seemed visibly annoyed by simple requests. When I asked for milk with my coffee, she took the cup back abruptly instead of just handing me milk. When I asked for the Wi-Fi password, she didn’t say anything and just passed me the receipt. The worst moment was asking for salt—she aggressively placed salt, pepper, and multiple sauces onto my tray and said, “Take it all.” It felt unnecessarily rude and hostile. I understand cafes get busy, but basic politeness goes a long way. Unfortunately, the service here made the visit uncomfortable, and I wouldn’t recommend this place based on that experience.
Wanted a hot pastrami sandwich like it said on the window for $28.00 it was horrible. Meat was cold no mustard.woukd not eat there again nothing like katzs deli . The pastrami was already slice not homemade sadly I will not return there.
