Lived nearby when this unassuming place opened and we were very impressed. Excellent food and very professional service each time we went which became often. Not surprisingly this great restaurant has outlasted its notable nearby neighboring spots. We always felt welcome and got good value for the money. Now I wanna go back soon!
My colleague and I were in Brooklyn for a work trip and decided to try Al di Là Trattoria, and what a gem it turned out to be! We opted to dine at their wine bar, conveniently located right around the corner on Carroll Street, and it was the perfect selection. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was impeccable. Our bartender was the definition of professional, attentive. As for the food, the meal was absolutely delicious. This is a must-visit spot in Carroll Gardens. We highly recommend it and will definitely be back next time we are in the area. A 5-star place for sure!
Super delicious spot! Cozy, neighborhood feel with a warm atmosphere. The cocktails are excellent Negroni Perfetti was a standout and the amari list looked great too. Oxtail stew appetizer was incredible, and the Ricotta Cavatelli with spicy tomato sauce was the winner between the pastas. Service was efficient and relaxed, never rushed. Food was good overall, some dishes better than others, but I’d definitely come back for the vibe, cocktails, and to try more dishes (and dessert next time!)
This Italian restaurant is one of the few places in NYC where you’ll find rabbit on the menu—and it’s prepared exceptionally well. The pear cake was another highlight, perfectly balanced and memorable. The food remains consistently excellent, served in a warm, authentic setting. Also, returning after several years, we were thrilled to find the same high quality and familiar menu we remembered.
Shout out to Milo, our epicurean guide. A great meal means fabulous food and ambiance, but not enough credit is given to the server, the culinary enthusiast who sets the tone for the adventure. We started with ZUCCHINI SALAD Ribbons of green and gold zucchini, fresh red chili, mint, onion, shaved Pecorino, lemon juice, olive oil Then shared RICOTTA CAVATELLI- Roasted tomatoes, garlic, chili, creamy lemony ricotta, basil; MALFATTI Swiss chard and ricotta gnocchi, brown butter and sage and CORN TORTELLI Homemade tortelli stuffed with corn and mascarpone, Parmigiano. The meal ended with a mango and pineapple sorbet and a warm pear cake with chocolate pieces baked inside. What is your work schedule, Milo?
Rolling thru our tour of the world, well, Portugal and New York. We got to enjoy dinner in Brooklyn with a dear friend and she introduced us to their favorite Italian neighborhood stop. al di la Trattoria, they also have a market/bar on the back side. I started with a delicious Espresso martini and the ladies had a glass of red. My drink was great and 3 beans so I can live another day. The red wine was just ok. We started with their cuttlefish and oxtail over polenta. It's sea salty and delicious My love ordered the Taglitille and Ragu, pasta is delicious made in house. The Ragu was ok a little flat. Our friend had the Braised Rabbit over polenta wow this is amazing. So flavorful and delicious. I had the Mushroom Polenta with a fried egg. It was woodsie and rich. And of course the polenta is great. My love and I got to share some amazing news with our friend. We so much appreciate her excitement and genuine hope and love for our future. It's magical to share this adventure with you, can't wait to see what's next...thank you for saying yes, and really? Love you to the moon and back and 1,000 miles more. 🖤🖤🖤
Amazing and unexpected delicious meal! It was rich and delicious! Everything we had was cooked to perfection. Excellent service! The wine was paired perfectly. Bread in the mussels was so delicious. Great and comfortable ambiance. It's so beautiful. It was comfortable, but not too casual.
So excited that I finally had an opportunity to try this Italian restaurant in Park Slope! Food was INCREDIBLE. The pasta was fresh and wine was delicious. Squash ravioli was unbelievable - a MUST order. Do not be deterred by the “second dining space” around the corner if the main dining room is full! I had a fabulous experience and would absolutely plan another dinner in the near future.
Delicious Italian spot in Park Slope. Everything in the menu hit. The pastas were amazing, the mushroom risotto was amazing, the asparagus appetizer was amazing… cannot go wrong!! Save room for dessert too! The cake was sublime! Good service and good wine too. Highly recommend going to al di la !!
Great service with a convenient app to order at your table during these pandemic times! The Tagliatelle Al Ragu was definitely the star of the show along with the Braised Rabbit. The rest of the food was also good, though the sides that weren’t pasta were more of a hit or miss. The pastas definitely takes the cake here! I had heard that they’re known for their risottos but we unfortunately weren’t able to find it on the menu.
Came here with my partner spontaneously one evening. The pasta with wild boar and polenta with cuttlefish in ink were delicious. The risotto was good. The greens were surprisingly good. The scallop risotto (if I remember correctly?) was impressive. I remember only being iffy on the soup. This is a place where you will want to order the entire menu. Will definitely return.
We wanted to come to al di lá for a while and glad we finally did. Made a reservation beforehand since this place does get busy on the weekend and glad we did. The drinks were delicious, we got a nice recommendation from a gentleman working here. The pasta was good - definitely fresh and quality ingredients but that’s it. There’s a lot of pasta shops in the area and they all sit at the same level of taste. Would definitely stop by again if I was ever in the mood for pasta and wanted to eat out.
We came here for a weeknight dinner. We came in and the place was pretty busy in a lively way. The restaurant was dimly lit with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We ordered 2 Negroni Perfetti which were my favorite part of the meal - as someone who doesn’t drink Negronis often I was very pleasantly surprised I liked it that much! We started with bread and butter which was very good, then the Spring Salad. It was very light and fresh but I would probably order something else next time. Then we ordered the Tortelli di Piselli, a homemade green pasta stuffed with ricotta, and the Ricotta Cavatelli. Between the two I would choose the Ricotta Cavatelli - I loved the savory and slightly spicy tomato sauce on it. Although the Tortelli wasn’t my favorite, I will say both pastas were cooked to perfection, just slightly al dente. We were welcomed by a very nice gentleman when we entered the restaurant. The service was “European” style which I liked - very efficient, but we didn’t feel rushed at all even though we were finishing up around closing time. I would come back again for the vibe and cocktails if I were in the neighborhood again to try some different dishes, and maybe dessert! They also had a great amari/digestivi list which I’d like to partake in next time too.
I came here on a cold Wednesday night with a good friend in early January who lives nearby. I’m not sure when he booked the reservation but I would recommend making a reservation as the restaurant seemed quite crowded, but not packed. The restaurant is very quaint and feels like a neighborhood staple right when you come through the door. The food was good to great, but not amazing. The service was also good, but not exceptional. The cocktails and drink menu were also nice. This very much seems like the type of place where you would have want to have a nice meal with friends close to home. I would recommend and I would go back.
Food was very good. Surprisingly the ox tail squid ink polenta was our favorite appetizer. The pork loin main was fabulous. The handmade black ink seafood pasta had good texture. The gnocchi was… different, the center filling could use some texture and more flavor as it felt like mush in your mouth. The pasta ragu was good. Will be back with friends definitely.
