This is a must stop if you’re visiting to NYC! Everything on their menu was great! We had the vanilla egg cream, chocolate egg cream (which blew our minds), ice cream sundae, cookies and cream milkshake, cherry Ricky soda and the cola and literally All of it was amazing. The staff were so kind and got our orders out so quickly and the aesthetic of the store was perfect.
Loved this old fashioned ice cream parlor. When you walk in you are transported to another era. The service is good. I had the Vanilla Egg Cream, which I enjoyed. The prices are good for this area. It's very family oriented. There were quite a few kids. I have to come back to try their Sundaes.
I have walked by this store more times than I can count, finally went in this week! It is Wayyy bigger on the inside than expected. Lots of toppings/sundae combos! I had the egg cream too and I agree that it’s the best I’ve had in NYC so far!!
The absolute best staff and hospitality. Me and my friends (about 10 of us) came in just an hour before closing. They made sure to empty a bigger table to fit all of us and the staff was absolutely the best and so accommodating even though we stayed a bit past closing without realizing. Not to mention dessert was absolutely incredible
If you’re in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn and craving a throwback treat, this old-school soda shop hits the spot. The vibe is straight out of an old classic pharmacy complete with counter seating, chrome accents, and that unmistakable scent of nostalgia. I got the black n white milk shake the chocolate syrup clings to the inside of the glass, perfectly swirled with creamy vanilla ice cream…simple and delicious. Friendly service, a no-rush atmosphere, and vintage charm make this a hidden gem worth the visit
straight out of an old school movie. the whole menu sounds so good it took me awhile to settle on a chai flavored ice cream float. we also got a chocolate egg cream (get this, it has no egg nor cream, it's actually flavored soda) both items were so good, the employees are also super nice and welcoming. definitu an awesome community spot, it got super busy at 10pm on a Monday night they have rotating ice cream flavors but vanilla and chocolate are permanent.
This place is like stepping back in time. I visited from the UK during my trip. I was so excited to try authentic and vintage drinks. And I wasn’t disappointed at all. The ambiance was unique with a vintage decor, an open kitchen where you can watch them prepare the drinks, cosy tables and even board games to play. I had a hot chocolate because it was cold outside and my husband tried the authentic NY eggcream which was delicious too. We also shared a whoppie pie which was very good. Our experience was amazing and I already can’t wait to visit again. Next time I hope the weather will be hotter so I can have a root beer float because it looks delicious!

Very cute place. It's fun for a kitchy moment when you want ice cream. This spot is more about the place than the dessert (nothing you haven't tasted before if you've had a sundae, milkshake, etc.)

the nostalgic ny decor makes it the cutest date spot. their housemade fudge is soso good. i preferred my partner’s sundae over my egg cream! i also had a great prior experience with their hot cocoa.
Vear lovely ice cream shop, great to bring the family or a date. Prices are on the higher end but the portion are great to share. Definitely would come back to try more of the menu. The staff were very nice and outdoor seating spaces is available. Cash and credit are both accepted. Parking in the area is very limited but available depending on the time. 08/2025
Very cute spot in the neighborhood. Consider it a wonderful spot to stop by during an evening walk through the brownstone neighborhoods in order to catch the sunset. 2 soda floats and tip will put you over $20 so in terms of value, a customer could do better. Nevertheless, our drinks (orange creamsicle and roaring 20s) were great tasting and provided the cool on a summer day.
Had a great experience, but a few thoughts that made this experience not a 5 star (should be a 4.5). Enjoyed the Take Five a lot. Love the peanut butter, caramel, and pretzel combo (it's insanely good), but feel the Sundae deserves 2 scoops of ice cream (yes, going forward I can add it). My guest loved the BQE. The marshmallow was fantastic, chocolate ice-cream, perfect. The only issue we had was that the whipped cream was over whipped.
Cute dessert shop. Pretty ample seating and lots of cute decor. I think the floats were a bit over priced for what they were but I loved the frozen hot chocolate milkshake. It had a toasted marshmallow top. Everyone agreed it was the best thing we ordered out of 3 floats and the one shake. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here but it was a very cute location and we were able to chat and have dessert after dinner :) so if you’re in the area and like shakes/floats try it
The atmosphere of this place is just amazing. It’s more about the experience than the flavors. Don’t get me wrong; I enjoy the desserts, but they were perhaps a bit too sweet. I will definitely try them again, but this time I’ll share. What I love about this place is that it feels like you’re stuck in time. They have preserved many original elements, so you really get the whole experience. I understand this place is famous for its soda, and I didn’t try that this time. I believe I need to come back and update you on that. The bathroom was spotless, and I loved the pictures that tell the story of the place. I also need to mention the Affogato; it was really good! However, next time I will definitely share it because it was too much for me, and I consider myself someone who loves desserts and has no problem finishing one on my own. If you’re visiting New York or live here and haven’t had the chance to visit this place, I highly recommend that you do. It’s amazing!

This place is known for the sundae and that’s exactly why I came . I arrived at 9:30 and got served , . For a whopping $17, I could have received a little more ice cream . I’d say my ice cream was good minus the huge logs of pretzels they dumped in. Was it worth the $17 probly not , you don’t have to get a sundae they have other ice cream options . I love the traditional look to the interior. They have indoor seating and outside seating . As well as they sell merch for the brand itself , and slices of cake .
Stopped by for a quick bite of something sweet. The options are very clear. The ice cream was good, I would have just loved to see more flavor options. I went with a few friends who all loved their…

I'm a longtime Cobble Hill resident and have visited Brooklyn Farmacy dozens of times over the years, almost always with positive experiences. Unfortunately, my visit this evening was disappointing. After waiting 25 minutes for a milkshake—while watching customers who ordered after me receive theirs—I politely asked about my order. The response from one staff member, Justin, was unexpectedly harsh: he loudly told me I would "just have to wait" and that I wasn't the only customer. It was the first time I've been spoken to that way at any food establishment. Jannie from the Farmacy witnessed the exchange. I asked for a refund and to speak with a manager, but none was on duty. Jannie, handled the situation professionally—processing my refund quickly and providing contact information for management. To be clear, this review reflects the customer service experience (i.e. no one should be treated the way I was treated by the Farmacy staffer).. I have no complaints about the food or the space itself.
I arrived at your location at 9:30 PM after driving 25 minutes, based on the map and the sign on the door stating that the store closes at 10:00 PM. I had also tried calling since 9:00 PM, but no one answered the phone. When I politely asked if I could please get one hot chocolate, I was told rudely that the store was already closed at 9:30. This was confusing and disappointing, especially since the posted hours indicated otherwise
Overall love this place..but there's one reason I'm writing this as a 1 star. The cakes... The cakes are too expensive for the less than adequate quality. The cakes are 1.5-2.5/5 on average, but never exceeding 2.75/5. The way I ran this is 1 point per these 5 categories: - moistness -.25 - flavor -.5 - texture -.5 - freshness -.25 - value -.25 -------------------- Total : 1.75
