WOW. I don't know if I should start off talking about the owner, workers or food they are ALL EQUALLY WORTH BEING FIRST. But I have know the owner for many many years he has always been a friendly easy going respectful man if he sees me first he aways say hello weather am in or oustside the restaurant. The workers i have also known for many many years and they are always the same respectful,funny and friendly people i met years ago. Now about the Menu is GREAT from the many different prepared meals, drinks, patties, and cakes My favorite is d curry goat even through as a carribbean woman i can cook it myself but I don't know what it is about theirs am not sure if they sprinkle Love or Comeback over the food because theirs taste wonderful like I can go every week to get d curry goat with my rice swimming D sauce

Almost everything about this restaurant is amazing. Great food, especially the escovitch fish, macaroni and cheese and soups. Workers are friendly, they have lots of food selections. Its clean and comfortable. AWESOME breakfast menu. Wait time is sometimes long due to crowding. It is one of the best NYC Golden Krust restaurants.

They have the BEST oxtail in all of Brooklyn plus a wide selection of healthier options not offered at other Golden Krust locations. And the sitting areas are clean and comfortable. Worth a visit!

Great food and very clean environment. I enjoy the stew and jerk chicken a lot and visit quite often for this. In addition the oxtail gets great reviews and on Saturdays they do a jerk oxtail that is really popular. They have a good breakfast selection also that includes callaloo, cornmeal or banana porridge, and ackee and salt fish.

The food is delicious, the service is kind, helpful and very friendly. The only down side is the store was Caribbean hot. Took my order to go because I prefer to eat their delicious food in an air-conditioned room.

Best Golden Krust in Brooklyn! When I’m craving oxtail, I only want it from this location! I’m bratty about my food, especially authentic Caribbean food. This Golden Krust is hands down the best in the Brooklyn franchise. THE BEST FOOD EVER!!!!! They’ve renovated their space to a cleaner, warmer and more inviting ambiance; added some technological advancements in the ordering and checkout process; and lead with the best hospitality I’ve ever experienced at any Jamaican take-out spot. I don’t need attitude with my Jamaican food for it to be authentic. Matter of fact, I prefer good energy with my food. You are guaranteed the best service and they often exceed your expectations. Now, if perhaps you do get some attitude, I would suggest an internal check. Because this team is top notch! Do you see how they wrapped my food in plastic to avoid spillage and the extra gravy?!?!?! C’mon man!!! This is Heaven! Ask for Devon and tell him Jay sent you! Get the oxtail! TRUST ME!!!!

Stopped in to dine with my brother, visiting me from out of town. Ordered curry chicken, brown rice with peas, and cabbage. Unbeknowest to my my brother had dined an hour before meeting me. Nevertheless, he opted for a beef patty. The food was not as delicious as the last time, but I was happy, nonetheless, and glad to support this particular establishment. We were serviced by Ms. Denise. A lovely representative, and I promised her that I would draft a review of my experience 😀 There was also a gentleman server, and he was equally as pleasant and charming as Ms. Denise. I look forward to my next visit to Gokden Crust and will try the jersey chicken! Until then, take care and thank you to the Golden Crust Team 💛

The best GC in NYC! I do NOT just give out 5 stars... this spot has been a staple in our community for as long as I can remember. The food quality has remained consistently above the bar, fresh and authentic. The service isn't like your stereotypical "wi nah hav dat".. they actually value customer service, and it shows. Not only my personal experience but the patience I've observed them maintain while dealing with difficult customers is noteworthy. You can tell the owner has standards, and it's definitely from the top-down. Had to take the time to big yall up!

The oxtail is perfection and the portions are generous. I've ordered large catered portions for special occasions and holidays and its always ready on time and made fresh. The staff that is there has been there a while and seem to be invested which makes me trust and admire the establishment more. The restaurant is always CLEAN. Whenever I go out of town, this is the first stop when I get back.

It's one of the best eating Golden Krust. They have hand sanitizer for the customers. Overall the restaurant is clean and good background music at times. No hanging outside of the GK.

Overall good food, customer service is sufficient. The manager is a really nice guy. My 1 complaint, is they move too slow. Food is already prepared, so does it takes so long to serve??

Their selection of food offers, flavors very good. Just don't like buying bread from there keep getting breads with mold.

I've given up on their patties. Although they must be mass produced, there's got to be a way to make them taste like mom's kitchen.

I’ve enjoyed a many meals from this location. My favorite part about this restaurant are the employees. These are some of the calmest, caring and gentle workers I’ve met in the food industry. They always appear polite and ask for clarity. If they ever make a mistake, they apologize and make it right. My recommendation for management is to utilize the glass covers (transparent ) for the food. Having the food in the open leaves room for microorganism to enter as well as dry the moisture out of the food. There is a barrier between customers and the food, which is a great addition. The restaurant is always clean and calm. I see great things for this location. All the best.

The food is just mediocre here. They give you good portions, but the food just doesn't taste authentic, no seasoning, and no flavor. I get it that you have to cater to all dietary needs, but no flavor is a waste of purchasing food.

Meat patties are good. Could use more filling and less pastry crust. Had some on Sat and they were very crunchy. Have tried the dinners before the cabbage and curry chicken was good. This place is very busy. Servers could be quicker.

Chicken patties don't worth even $3, there's some weird paste inside, no chicken at all

The beef patty was almost all crust. What was inside was a paste made from "beef". To top it off, it was expensive. $6 for two "beef" patties. This is supposed to be a carribean restaurant, but they have gone American. Fried chicken, mac&cheese and red velvet cake/cornbread theses are southern American foods.

Pattys were meh, I’ve had better ones out of a box…which is what these kinda tasted like. If there’s any Jamaicans in the kitchen, they probably aren’t eating here…

I love this place, the patties (jerk chicken and spicy beef my fav). I walk past it to get home and 5/10 times can't resist and have to go in and get me something. I usually see the same lady and few other employees in there which is nice. Oxtails are delicious but you should know that the food can depend on when you go in because it is semi-buffet style, so sometimes you get the last helpings. For example I went to get ackee and saltfish one morning at 11 am and it was so dry. I was just glad there was any left going that late. EDIT: I'm sorry but in the last 2 years this place must have undergone new management. The inside is renovated but just like the minimalist interior design, the food has MINIMAL flavor. If you've had any food here in the past year, you know what I'm talking about. Prices have gone up yet each time I go, the food gets worse. I had some ackee and saltfish that puts a shame to Jamaican food

So this review is after trying this place multiple times. We like Jamaican food, but this place is so inconsistent. One day the soup is hot and fresh, the next day it was literally served cold. Second time we went to try another dish, the rice was not fully cooked. How do you allow the rice to come out like that? Anyone checking? Where is the quality control. Oxtail sauce could be more flavorful. Overall very average. Stick to a quick patty if you're hungry. The platters can be disappointed. Especially when you order, leave, then take it to your car and find out food is cold or not cooked.

The oxtail tasted old and the fruit cake was horrible. Will not be going back.

Very hit or miss at this location. The owner is very pleasant. But he need to put some of the servers in check. Too much attitude. The rice is HARD af and has no flavor. Don't even think about getting the oxtail unless you want HARD meet. Today just put the cherry on the cake. Got a red peas soup which was literally brown water when I opened it. Clearly that soup was NOT ready to be sold as it is still cooking. The fact that he went yo the back to get it was a dead give away. Then when I took it back for a refund, I was told by one of the incompetent servers I cannot get a refund. So my question was if he got food from a restaurant with hair in it he should just take it as a lost or go get a refund? Well called the owner and the fact that he wanted to defend that soup as if it was ok to be sold told me they have no clue how CS works. I will NEVER eat here again.

If I can give this restaurant 0 stars I will gladly give it. The customer service is far beyond terrible and disgusting. They aren’t welcoming at all. They come off as if they are giving me free food (very much over priced). They absolutely NEED training in customer service/relations, it really isn’t good for business. FYI l, the food isn’t that swell.

False advertising opening time. I called and ask if they were open, which was around six am. Someone answered and said yes. I got there at 6 40 am and they still wasn't open. I waited until 7am and then decided to leave. Terrible business. Won't be going back for breakfast.

At last I was happy golden crust is in my neighborhood. Newly renovated. I lived in the neighborhood for more than 40 years. I visited the establishment yesterday after work. I had my 2 wheel scooter with me. I left it at the side in the front and approached the counter. The lady behind the counter screamed and told me I had to take my scooter out. I alerted if I left it outside someone can steal it. The lady had a horrible look and told me she did not want the scooter inside. We are all adults in the room. There is a certain way to speak with customers. I support black owned businesses. In this instance black people don’t know how to treat other minorities. This was such a turn off. I wrote this soo u as a reader can see where I am coming from.

I came in on my lunch break and ordered a mini curry goat, white rice and cabbage. The curry goat had no flavor, you couldn’t even taste the curry. I’m highly dissatisfied and I feel the price paid versus the product doesn’t make sense. Please have your chef taste the food before putting it out. 4/8/2025 12:25pm

I paid too much money for the quality of food that I received. This place used to be my favorite Golden Krust location, but not anymore. I bought 2 oxtails dinners and they were HORRIBLE! I don't know if they got a new chef or they get their oxtails from a different company now, but whichever it is, it's not worth the money that I paid. I traveled far just to go to this particular restaurant. The 1st day I got home and we started to eat our food we could not continue eating it. The oxtails were very tough and dry, they weren't edible at all, even the rice and peas tasted different. I called the restaurant to tell them about my experience and the person I spoke to was very nice about the situation. She said she would give the info to the boss and they would call me soon, but make sure I keep the receipt. 3 days passed by and nobody ever called me back, so I decided to take that journey and go in person. I gave my receipt and explained what happened, it took a few minutes for them to call the boss for a decision. So the guy (not so friendly) started to make 2 of the same dinners that I had an issue with. I get home (mind you I traveled far), the oxtails were a little bit softer but the taste and the texture was just HORRIBLE, again. Their oxtails are definitely NOT the same anymore. Different texture and taste and they were filled with oil, even the fat on the meat was different, very rubbery like, definitely shouldn't be eaten. It tastes like the recipe has completely changed but for the worse. This was my go to restaurant even from a distance, but not anymore. The prices went up a few years ago and you still get the same amount of meat (not fair), but I was still a loyal customer. I didn't bother to call again because what's the point? I had had enough.. I won't be returning, I'm better off making my own...

If I could give zero stars, I would! Service was slow. Wanted to weigh my meal but didn’t know the cost per pound. Then, only gave three pieces of cut up chicken - not a whole leg/thigh with a whole heap of rice for a medium order. Chicken was dry. This Golden Krust was a complete disappointment. Better off going to a local Jamaican restaurant. The mom and pops will take care of you - quality and quantity wise. Support small businesses!
