Claim Jumper in Buena Park offers sizable portions and a lively atmosphere, especially before Knott's Berry Farm. Many enjoy the Thanksgiving menu and steak. Some experience slow service or food inconsistencies, like dry tri-tip or undercooked fish.

This was my first time going to Claim Jumpers. It was a rather long wait for us to be seated, and even then, they had to sit our group at 2 tables. The tables were next to each other. The establishment is fairly loud, we could still talk with our table but it's definitely noisy. I got steak and added lobster. The steak was awesome. The lobster lacked any real flavor. The cream cheese cake was delicious.
Great restaurant with great food and service. Im from Sacramento and our claim jumper closed down quite a while ago. It was really nice getting to experience it again with the killer mozzarella sticks. If you live in this area dont take it for granted!
Love it they've added new items to the menu I highly recommend the salmon Florentine, and lobster BLT (photo not shown) and check out the new drinks I have this wagon something it was delicious I had to get a few
Good food we always love the Thanksgiving menu! Only flaw was they ran out of the sweet potatoe casserole 😢 Recommend having a reservation, long wait without one.
Food was great service was great it was quite a wait after visiting knotts berry farm but food was well worth it...
It's been quite some time since I've been here for dinner 🍽 I was not disappointed staff is good and so is the food
Great place to have family dinner. Steak was great, everyone was happy with their food.

Lively place located directly across from Knott’s Berry Farm. It was a busy Friday night but, that didn’t affect the service or food.
Hi. The food was good I ordered a clam soup and a pink lemonade , I just got the soup never got the pink lemonade. How can a server forget what you order when they write it down? And@ the end it was included in my bill. I had to tell him that he never brought my pink lemonade , He just said I can bring it now, at the end.
We came in with a large party. Jessica was our server.. she was very patient with us and took care of our party very well. She was very patient and understanding that we weren’t ready since we were still waiting for one more person. She went above and beyond as to cutting the birthday cake and serving it to us.. and even splitting our bill seven ways. Thank you, Jessica!
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Would certainly go again. Great job, Claim Jumper. Grabbed the Widowmaker burger, and found it surprisingly balanced. Fries were really tasty, too. Price was decent, as going at lunch time shaved off some coinage. If I ordered it again, I might add a fried egg just to make it more heart attack inducing, but otherwise no notes. Staff was friendly and checked in on us often. Was informative regarding my myriad of questions. Only downside was a lack of easily available parking. Given we went during quiet time, I'm unsure how bad that would get during the evening rush.

My local Claim Jumper, a nice themed restraunt literally across the street from Knott's Berry farm matching the old west and mining themes. Our waitress was extremely nice, friendly, and accomodating. The food is always good, and the portions are quite sizable. I always find myself full before finishing everything on my plate. My family and I tend to come here on a regular basis during the week before the dinner rush and it's always a good casual dining experience. We'll definitely be back.
The service, servers and ambience was amazing. The food however did not hit the spot for me. The dessert looked promising but it was also 6/10. Still above average. The salad bar is good. The cocktails are sugared down too but good. The ambience of this place is great and it's a decent dinner place. Good portion size. And again the servers make things better. The chocolate motherload needed more frosting and felt dry. The food just overall needed more seasoning for me but that's just my palette.
So we stopped in for a bite before heading over to Knotts Scary Farm. We arrived about 4:30 pm and it was empty but it got more crowded once it got later. The wait wasn’t long before we were seated but unfortunately, sitting and waiting was unpleasant as we could smell the bathroom odor. Once seated, our waiter was friendly and attentive to our orders as well as some changes. The food tasted great and the drinks were delicious.
The steak and shrimp were absolutely delicious! Cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The cheesecake was also a fantastic dessert – rich and creamy. Highly recommend!
Came here with the family to celebrate Father's Day. Made a reservation for 5pm. We actually arrived 30 minutes early because it being Father's Day knowing they were going to be extra busy. They were definitely extra busy. We didn't get seated until almost 6:30. Service was a bit on the slower side too which is what we expected. They were definitely slammed for the holiday. The restaurant started to clear out closer to 7. Nonetheless our waitress was really friendly. Dinner and dessert was delicious.
Love the big portions. I just wish my tri tip was warmer. It was a little dry. But because they served korbel for the mimosas, I became delighted and enjoyed the rest of my food.
We came here late for dinner after we got out from Knott's Berry farm. Haven't tried this restaurant for a decade and decided to give it a try for a party of 5 We ordered the Widow maker burger, the Farmhouse burger, the Lobster Mac and cheese and the Black tie pasta. Portion is big and food are delicious. We finished everything on the table with a fully belly. Even though we arrived late and sit all the way at the back table, but the server check on us periodically. However I gave a 4 star review is because of the restaurant interior deco. Our table is a bit dated and greasy and hope the restaurant will get a remodel or makeover soon. Will definitely visit this location again after it's renovated

Stopped by with my dad for lunch. Hadn't been here for a while. New menus were delightful. I had the new BBQ Chicken Sandwich with fruit. So saucy and delicious. We shared the amazing carrot cake.

Service is excellent, but a little slow when they're busy, as they seem slightly understaffed. Food is mostly good, but not everything is good. Fried Zucchini has too thick zucchini compared to too little breading. The ratio is off, they should slice their zucchini thinner. Nashville hot Cauliflower is excellent, but the Nashville chicken sandwich tastes strangely sweet, which makes it not as good, whereas the Nashville Cauliflower tastes savory, which is better. Chicken pot pie is excellent, but the California Chicken Salad is too sweet and has too many dried cranberries in it, which are also too sweet. Note that the portions are LARGE, so get the smaller size of something if you're not sure if you can finish it. The appetizers uniformly seem good, and it is probably possible to just order only appetizers and get a whole meal out of them with people just sharing them all like small plates. The parking situation is bad though, when it's busy. Knott's Berry Farm and its parking are nearby, so there's a swarm of pedestrians and ultra slow stop and go traffic on the main road, and it's hard to get in and out of the plaza. I recommend visiting during off hours if you can. And if you have Landry's gift cards, note that most Claim Jumper locations have been franchised to Kelly's Restaurants and may not accept those gift cards. We were able to get our Landry's gift card honored, but the manager had to be contacted to do that.

We ordered Jambalaya and tri tip, both taste good. But we found a plastic thing inside one of the dishes. They respond nicely with a free dessert. Also, they take discount if you show the Knotts ticket on the same day.
I could see why it wasn't crowded. We had sliders and potato soup. Our table mates had chicken and tri tip. It looked good, but my friend didn't like the chicken. I think she was most dissatisfied with the gravy. The meat in my sliders tasted different than I expected beef to taste- just not seasoned well, and the restaurant used American cheese, the processed stuff that I don't think is real cheese. Soup tasted ok, not anything to come running back to eat again. The tritip looked great. Half of it went home. Wait staff was sweet. I was surprised that a rib eye steak was so expensive. The website indicates it's $48, but the menu was different at a shipping $98. I sure hope I read that wrong. Anyway, CJ had a great idea in the 80's. Not so much now. Just my not so humble opinion.

Offers promos that do not exist per my server causing a much higher bill than expected. Will be my first and last time coming here. I’d advise to avoid this shady place. See pics
Waitress was nice but the food was disgusting. Paid $155.00 for 2 people that we couldn't even finish the meal. Food is microwaved slop. It arrived within 10 mins of ordering so you know it wasnt cooked. It was heated up. Anyone can tell when shrimp, ribs, and tr tip is microwaved. Not woth the price your paying. Is you guys are going to half ass preparing your food you should be charging half the price. Definitely never getting anymore of my money.
Ordered the steak and shrimp. Steak was well done when ordered medium rare. Wife had the fish and chips. It was doughy and she had to remove the batter to eat it. Loaded baked potato was good but is an upcharge which was asked about but our server said wasn't.
