I visited this place for the first time with my husband on Thursday and absolutely loved it 😍 It's worth noting that they have live music (guitar and other instruments) on Thursday evenings 🎶 The atmosphere takes you to a real tavern, like in ancient times. We ordered the Story Burger from the menu and it was delicious! 🍔 We highly recommend it! I'm also thrilled that you can play board games here, so we'll definitely be back with friends.
I love this place. It's got a great vibe and the patrons are always pretty cool. The bartender is super rad and makes sure you are taken care of and have everything you need, all with a smile! The place is always fresh and clean They offer free popcorn, several house drink specials, and some decent food to keep you going. They have about 6 dartboards, a shuffleboard table, a foosball table, and two ping-pong tables to keep you entertained, not to mention great music and several TVs playing all types of sports. The outdoor patio is really nice at night. They also have a second room with a bar and a full dining room with tables. Thank you for always taking care of us!!! I definitely will be returning! Enjoy!!! #jsho
Excellent burgers and sandwiches and a great section of beers. They handmade their margarita mix, too! The large game room has a darts, ping pong and shuffleboard (but let's keep that our secret).
Came here for lunch. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Good bar food and the menu has many options. They have a good beer selection. I like the TVs. Watched a world cup game there. Tried their sloppy Joe’s and it was really good.
If you didn’t tell me the food was gluten free, I would not have known the difference!! Such amazing food! The staffs wonderful and I even got to meet the man behind the cider!! Everything was wonderful! We will be back!
Great beer and cider selection, good classic bar food, extremely fun game selection! Great for a group of friends.

For a Friday night the place was basically empty on the table side. I love the atmosphere of this place it reminds me so much of places from back home. The service was excellent, but I can't say with certainty if that would remain true if it was super busy. The food menu is standard pub food in choice, but for what they have they do well. Go wanting a beer and a burger.
Amazing food, and great employees! I loved the wall with all the nice/wholesome artwork and cultural references. I really loved the bar to the left of the restaurant, with all the fun activities you can do. I'm not sure if that bar business is affiliated with them, but it had a ping-pong table, darts, and table shuffleboard. Thank you for the amazing night!
I've been here a few times and always had fun, whether it was a network event, weekday lunch, or after-work drinks and games. My coworkers and I came here to play Magic: The Gathering, draw, and enjoy some good food and drink. We were able to find a table and the bartender/server was really friendly. Service was prompt and the food was great! (Definitely get the pretzel.) I don't drink anymore, but I remember them having a good selection of beer and cider when I did. I haven't been to their game room area, but it looks like a solid setup from the outside. (And I believe it's open later, on Wednesdays at least.) I'm also a writer so I just love the name...

Great vibes and cozy atmosphere at Story Tavern! Loved the martini and old fashioned, both well made, but prices were a bit steep. Fun spot, just a little pricey for frequent visits.
First time coming here. The game side was super crowded when we went over the weekend. The restaurant/bar side was almost empty when we arrived. They’re located on the north side of San Fernando right next to Gyu Kaku. The food itself was excellent but a little overpriced in my opinion. The drinks and beers we ordered were also very tasty and enjoyable. Unfortunately no dedicated parking and Burbank recently started charging for street parking.
Nice beer choices and decent wine options. The Mushroom Swiss burger was tasty. The manager behind the bar was great - very attentive. Some of the other staff should interact more with the customers and spend a bit less time entertaining each other.
Dog friendly patio! The beer was good and food was okay for the price. It’s a little pricey for what you get but the friendly staff made up for it.

Great food, but terrible service. I tried to hail a waiter or waitress several times, but they appeared to be avoiding eye contact. They also brought us the wrong order twice. Great ambience and very pet friendly.
My first time here as a group with a reservation. The roles were confusing; we couldn't order at the bar, we had to order from the server. We had to have a card and keep the tab open--this became problematic for our friends who use cash only. Reservations had been made at least a week in advance and we only had 1 server for 20 people, it was 45 min before we could order for and we had to flag them down for that. Food was good, but there just too much for one server that made it tough for many of our group to enjoy themselves.
A place I wanted to like but the food was just lacking in taste. It looked better than it tasted. I don't think I'd go back to pay for something I can make better at home unfortunately. Seems a better place for a drink than for a meal.

Place is O.K. at best. Food is good but the menu is very limited. They used to have this amazing menu back then, now it is just burgers, some sandwiches and mac & cheese. Atmosphere, service and the live music during thursday is what makes this place a good hang out spot. Best to come here when you are not really hungry or in between meals. Hopefully they expand their menu to include actual food.
I will be reviewing based only on the restaurant portion of the location. The menu looks decent enough, mostly comfort food. No complaints about the decor because it honestly didn't look bad. Got our entrées in 15 minutes and our food in 30 minutes. I got the Mac Attack Burger with chips after hearing a table next to me praise it. It was dreadful. The burger itself dry and flavorless, the mac and cheese in it also lacks flavor. The cheese tasted non-existent and the bun was the only flavor the burger had. I tried the pulled pork on mac and cheese next, not any better. It tasted stale and bland. The only flavor I had here is the Pretzel appetizers which was honestly good, if not a bit too salty for me. To top it off all the servers had regular clothes, nothing to distinguish them from the customers, so I couldn't flag one down for any service. The biggest sin is the price, $17 for a hand sized flavorless burger and stale pulled pork for $16? Sidenote: they use plastic cups for their beer, which I have never seen at a restaurant.

Their hours state that they were open until 10 pm- we showed up at 8:40 and they said that the kitchen was closed.

Sadly, one of the worst dining experiences I have had in quite a while. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. It was not edible. There was almost no actual chicken, the breading was thick and chewy and the first place in the sandwich I tried to bite I couldn't even bite through. I sent it back and asked for the spicy grilled chicken instead. This was edible, but far from good. There was little to no spice. I ended up having to pull the sandwich apart to remove a big chunk of fat/skin that I couldn't bite through. The server never even bothered to ask if the replacement sandwich was okay. Another person in our group ordered the fried chicken sandwich as well. When he went to send his back, the server actually argued with him about if the sandwich was okay or not. Went here because of the solid reviews, evidently people are getting different food/service than we received. Definitely will not be back. Just to follow up on the points raised in Story's response. It is correct we did not make reservations, but the place was almost empty. There was one person at the bar, a family of four, and a group of about 6 people. In addition, there was no complaint about the slowness of the service so this seems irrelevant anyways. Being short-staffed shouldn't cause the food to be inedible. I don't think any restaurant charges for food that is sent back for lack of quality after a single bite, so I don't view that as a big win for them. No one asked for an exception to the large party tip for us. I left almost a 20% tip even when the food was horrible and the service was substandard, so I don't feel any great injustice was done by not getting the standard tip rate. Had this standard rate been applied, I likely would have sent the second dish back too as it was also very poor quality. Keep in mind the first sandwich, which comes with no sides, was $17 and the second, also no sides, was $15. It isn't as if the prices are reflective of a low quality sandwich. For those that have made it this far, I encourage you to read the reviews on Yelp as well as there are more there. You'll quickly see this is not just one person griping, my observations are quite common among people that visit Story Tavern.
I’ve been here before and enjoyed it. Last time however, we were told to pick a seat outside and they would meet us there. We sat for about 30 minutes and no one came to take our order. Servers came and went to other tables but ignored us… not sure why. We tried to get their attention but no one took an interest so we left to eat somewhere else. Very weird experience… it wasn’t very busy and it was just two of us. :/
