Great lil cafe right on the magnificent mile Views are just as immaculate as the coffee The barista was very passionate and took making the perfect coffee seriously. Would definitely be my regular spot if I lived in Chicago

Probably the bar with the biggest vibe on the river. Got on a waiting list and was told 30-40 minutes, but was seated in about 15 mins. That was a nice surprise. Hosts were kind and helpful. I ordered the same beer twice, but was served two different beers. However, they were both good, no problem. We ordered a Flatbread and it was pretty burned, like unedible. We brought it up to the attention of one of the waitresses, and she was going to "mention it to the manager". Another waitress serving the table next to us, came over and said "we'll make it good". She didn't mention anything about "the manager". The Flatbread came back and it was OK, not great, but good enough. In the end, it was comped, so a generous tip was given. The food was OK, the beer was good. The vibe and the service was excellent in the end. I believe that the kitchen was probably overwhelmed on a Friday afternoon with Temps in the 80's and the orders were hard to maintain. An unforgettable trip (from Houston) could have been an unpleasant experience, but the staff saved the day. I LOVE Chicago.

Tiny Tapp has one of the best atmospheres on the Chicago Riverwalk. We actually stumbled across it while walking along the river, and I’m so glad we did! The location is perfect. It overlooks the river, so you can watch the boats pass by and people watch at the same time. Some seats were reserved while others were seat-yourself, and we were lucky enough to grab a spot right along the ledge overlooking the river and walking path. The restrooms were clean and open to the public, which was a pleasant surprise. I ordered an iced chai tea latte, which was delicious. It’s made with Tazo chai mix and they had dairy-free options, which I really appreciated. Between the drinks, the view, and the overall vibe, this place was just so much fun. Definitely planning on going back!

Took my husband there for his birthday yesterday and we loved it! We had to wait 45 minutes for a table by the river, but it was worth it! Great crowd! Service was great also. We sat right next to the band, which did a fantastic job!! Made us feel like we were in the VIP section… lol My husband is still talking about the experience! The spicy chicken wings and parmesan garlic waffle fries were our favorites!! We will definitely be back!!

I had a really nice time eating here because the service was friendly and welcoming. The food came out quickly and was packed with flavor. The appetizers were great for sharing and the main dishes were satisfying. The vibe of the restaurant was relaxed, which made it a good spot to enjoy a meal with friends.

You’re paying for the beautiful atmosphere. The views looking down the river are beautiful, especially at night time with all the buildings lit up! Mix drinks are at Chicago prices, I ordered a vodka lemonade for $16, and it probably only had 1/2 of vodka. Overall worth checking out, it’s beautiful and a nice lookout of the city.

Tiny Café: fantastic chai latte, great coffee too, speedy and friendly service. Just one block West there’s a shady, peaceful, clean park with plenty of seating. I always opt for the adjacent park for seating, because the restaurant seating is usually packed.

Tiny Tapp is such a gem in Chicago! The food is delicious, the service is outstanding, and the atmosphere makes you want to stay all afternoon. It’s the kind of place you instantly fall in love with and can’t wait to come back to. The live music is definitely a big plus—it adds the perfect touch to an already amazing experience!

Great stop on the riverwalk, got a nice ice tea and enjoyed my donut from the donut vault. They have outdoor tables and benches with umbrellas. I'd check it out!

Tiny Tapp Cafe on Riverwalk is one of the coolest dining spots. Great food options at a reasonable price and views are just awesome. Just make sure to get a table even if there is a wait…it’s totally worth it.

Very cool bar on river walk. Did not get a table but sat at bar. Did not eat but had drinks. Great staff and drinks were quite good as well.

Sometimes, you don’t need to overthink it. This is a great spot, right on the river with solid food. The quality of the food won’t blow you away, but the drinks and atmosphere are top-notch. We liked the Smashburger and garlic fries.

Decided to stop for a beer with my lady while walking along the river. We were just visiting for a few days and happened upon the art on the mart by accident. If it weren't for the server saying enjoy the show we probably woulda missed it. It was a cool location and a cool show.

This place is right on the river. My family had the Chicago Dog with fries and I had the Barbacoa Nachos. The Nachos were a huge value and I would recommend the Parmesan fries since the froes were great and the aioli garlic mayo is Amazing. This is great food and a great value for Chicago

Tiny Tapp & Cafe is a cute trendy restaurant. Date nights, solo nights, girls night, any type of night is great for Tiny Tapp & Cafe right along the gorgeous river walk. Just opened to first come to first serve! So you know what that means; date night every weekend, well almost every Weekend. Saturday nights good drinks good food and a nice view is everything’s about a Saturday date night is needed! Check em out!

Got wildly lucky today. A group of people and I came here around happy hour after work and found it awfully crowded with only one table opened with a reserved sign. An unassuming man, whom I can only assume is either the owner or manager happily asked us if we wanted the table, and alas we were seated! Got the fries, hummus plate, and chips with salsa and guacamole- all were delicious. I drank the tequila ranch water, which was good and sufficiently strong. Fantastic joint on the riverwalk, probably a new Fave.

I was walking back to my accommodation at night, feeling hungry, so I ate something. Even though I was full, I wondered if I should get one more fries. The evening breeze by the river in early September, the sound of music, and the lively, excited faces of the people—everything was perfect. It was a beautiful night with nothing missing.

If you don’t have a reservation at a riverside restaurant, there’s a charming little cafe by the river. We opted for chicken wings and fries. The wings were delightfully tender and flavorful, though the fries could’ve been crispier.

Try the nachos and burger!!! Cocktails look delicious

The gochujang wings were the best wings I’ve had in Chicago so far. Everything on the menu was done just right. When a menu is small, you know any dish will be delicious! Drinks were cheap and hit the spot too. The location is so nice, right next to the riverwalk with a lively walkway next to it. Loved it there.

Five stars for atmosphere. This is a really cool place to grab a drink in between figuring out what else you want to do downtown. They have a small simple menu and it is not there to be super fancy. You are right on the water- like literally only a foot above it and can interact with kayakers as they pass by. It is a great spot for pictures and people watching.

Fantastic place to relax and take in the city especially when the weather is nice outside! Sit on the sidewalks and enjoy the boats as they float on by. Great variety of food and beer. Friendly servers and a great experience! Would recommend to everyone!

I wish I would have known about this spot earlier. Great place to chill n people watch on a nice summer day. U can watch the boats coming n going from the lake, just really cool spot. We will be back for sure, as long as the weathers good!

Beautiful Day. Hanging out by the river with a glass of bourbon, watching everyone walking by. I would go back here anytime that I visit downtown Chicago again. The burger was ok, the price was outrageous but the location was worth it.

Great staff, helpful and welcoming. Decent food, nice pino noir, amazing atmosphere and the river view!

This place is amazing with the location alone. The drinks and food are simple and straightforward, and our server Vanessa was fantastic! She was attentive and personable. A wait for a table can be long though.

The best time time!!! Thank you Vanessa for recommending drinks and snacks for us. Truly made our experience so special. If you go, request her! She is fast and best drinks!

Best vibes for a summer day. Got the hot dog with waffle fries. Fries were so fresh and crispy! The prices are super reasonable. The wait can be long for outdoor seating on busy summer days but definitely worth the wait for river views. Great for a meal, a drink, snack, dessert, and even coffee. Cant wait for summer to go again!

The garlic parmesan fries and wings were fantastic — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Compliments to the chef, who clearly knows what they’re doing. On top of that, the view and vibe made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place worth coming back to.

Decent food, great service and exceptional atmosphere. 1. Food and drink was expensive but good for the vibe they had. Especially if you go with group of people. 2. Lots of tables for multiple number of groups. But quickly fill on weekends and even on certain weekdays too. 3. Great service and cocktails are really good. I had “Signature Tapp Subourbon” drink and tastes good. Whiskey sour is good too.

A casual riverwalk bar and snack cafe with lovely, friendly staff. Very pleasant to sit here and watch the Chicago River life go by. My Margarita Pita was delicious and hit the spot. There is a cozy lounge area as well. Can be very busy on the weekends. I’d say 3.5⭐️

Awesome location, great summer in Chicago vibes, really fun for people watching. Service is great, staff is friendly, food is ok. I’d come back for beers and wine

Did not eat here, only had drinks which were expectedly pricey due to the location on the river downtown. Overall, good experience.

We had a great time at Tiny Tapp. The atmosphere was amazing, the drinks were great and the service was great as well. We eat the margarita flat bread, fries and fried pickles. The only things this that was not great were the fried pickles.

Our night at TINY TAPP & CAFE was awesome! We strolled in on a Friday night without a reservation, and their self-serve setup was super efficient. What's even better? The place offers fantastic views of the river, making it a prime spot. Plus, there was live music playing that Friday night, adding to the fun vibes. So, if you're looking for a great place to wrap up your summer in Chicago, this is it! Great views, great service, and great music – what more could you ask for?

Great spot for a drink by the river with friends.

Food and frozen cocktails are very very yummy. I was sad when I ordered parmesan garlic fries and regular french fries came out, but they did fix it for us. Not waiting for a table and sitting at the long bar up top is the move. The flat bread pizzas are very little for that price, but at least the margherita one was very good.

Food selection is minimal. What you do get isn’t anything super special. My husband liked the nachos and the pulled chicken is okay. The best thing this place has going for them is obviously location and staff. Bartenders, host, servers, etc are all friendly, helpful and quick. No matter what we needed, we were greeted with a smile and they were helpful. If you just want a place to chill with a drink and people watch, this would definitely be the place for you. Go somewhere else for your food though.

Great spot to take in the river with some tubes and good vibes. Food is pretty average and a bit overpriced, the coffee is decent and the staff are friendly.

Today I elected to take a break, relaxing at Tiny Cafe, along Chicago’s waterfront. Tiny offers both a cafe for coffee and pastries, as well as a full bar for later in the day. I ordered my usual, cappuccino in a mug, a bit dry. Despite the fantastic waterfront, the cappuccino left much to be desired. If you’ve followed my cappuccino reviews, you will know I am not a fan of the “to go” experience. Nor am I fond of the “cappuccino button” school of Baristas. Per this rubric Tiny Cafe started with two strikes against them. The cappuccino itself left much if not all to be desired. You will find lines and crowds most operating hours at Tiny. I’d venture to say these people are coming for the views, not the cappuccino. Who can blame them. Chicago is beautiful in Fall. Enjoy

“Roasted” corn salad looks nothing like the photo and the corn is from a can. The Bloody Mary was tasty and the views from the outdoor patio are fab. Our party liked the fries and smash burger, but I say just have a drink and skip the food.

Beautiful view. Can get congested. Can’t sit at the tables by the river because it’s being set up for “food service” we got breakfast and moved to the little nook with the couches.

Host stand was almost rude. They were having a conversation with each other and just ignoring us standing there to check in. The server was very warm and nice though. The food was average and nothing special. Best part was being on the river walk but I certainly enjoyed other places along the walk more than this one.

We walked in to this place and got a table within 10 mins. The place is beautiful and well placed near the river walk. It is always crowded and reservation is recommended. Do not forget to ask for the perfect spot closest to the river. We were given a table that was pretty much in a tight space. We did not complain as we didn’t have a reservation but that place was uncomfortable because the next table was too close. My focus was mostly on not touching the girls sitting in the next table. It was that close. We ordered beers. Initially we were served the wrong beer. The waiter showed little interest in letting us know that it will be replaced. We asked and she said we could keep the wrong order too. The food was good. We had IPAs and a cocktail. They were amazing. I know the place was too crowded and it is hard to expect a little courtesy from the waiters. It is just a wish that despite being worn out coz of the work, they could still show some hospitality. The place was peaceful and pleasant but our experience wasn’t great coz of the waiters. I would rate their hospitality 2.9/5 especially because we were unattended for about 30 mins after being seated but the table next to us which was occupied after us was attended. I bet this won’t be the case all the time. It’s a weekend and the workers are busy running around. Everything else was good here! Would try it again on a better day.

Whilst walking along the Chicago Riverwalk it's worth stopping off at this nice lively bar. The atmosphere was enjoyable. I stopped by on a Thursday evening, there was a live band and everyone was in good form. The quality of the cocktails is only OK. For this reason 3 stars. But 5 stars for atmosphere and location.

Great spot along the riverwalk. We tried the iced latte but it was a disappointment. The coffee tasted like it was old. They had Metropolis beans so we expected it to be good but somehow it wasn’t. So if you want coffee don’t expect too much. Hope they get to improve tho. On the other hand, we also got their cream filled doughnut and it was good!! Will be back to try their food and other drinks as I heard good reviews! 😊

LATER EDIT: I emailed them almost two weeks ago, just like it was suggested in their reply below, but there was no response. It looks like it’s just a marketing scheme where they’d ask you to email them but they won’t respond (at least in time before you leave the city, if you’re a tourist). Great food - we had nachos, empanadas and cheese curds. However, the service was AWFUL, especially two of the girls working there, one of them was a server and the other was at the bar. While trying to approach and speak to the server to understand what two of the customers had (we saw the food on their table, it looked delicious and we wanted the same), she was extremely rude and was constantly taking steps back while I was trying to approach and ask my question. Her tone was really uninviting and made us feel unwanted there. Other than that, we returned the next day because the food was delicious. Happily we didn’t see the same employees and our experience was better the second time and there was a girl running the food who was extremely nice to us.

Herman Ochoa

Paid $20 for a salad that was basically just lettuce with barely any ingredients. They charge an extra $3 just to add chicken, and even then it still feels empty. I had to ask for more dressing just to make it edible, which cost me $1.40 extra. At the end of the day, you’re basically paying over $20 for lettuce. Definitely not worth it.

So we are working along the river Saturday night, wanted to sit and grab a light bite and Beverages, just as we got to the place there was a table opening near the water, , so we asked the hostess for that table. She would NOT give it to us because it was a four top table, and there were three of us. Just as we walked away, she gave the table to four men..… NEVER EVER in my world and or domestic travels have I had this happen.. The hostess I guess assumed they would make more on the four top than us… WRONG assumption people… absolute, discrimination, and disgraceful. We took our business elsewhere The ironic thing was there was a young woman sitting all by herself… go figure
