Señor Pancho Fresh Mexican Grill

I wanted to surprise my wife with lunch while she’s working from home. We just got back from 3 years overseas in Italy. Great Italian food & wine, but tacos?…not so much. Anyway, it’s just what you’d expect from a typical San Diego area taqueria. My wife had the 5 rolled tacos with everything and I had the Surf n Turf burrito. Chef’s Kiss, baby! The food was on point!

Gotta get the California burrito! You can eat in or drive through.

First time here food was great and not over priced like other taco shops.

It was a decent amount for $14 with tax. The only downfall was both red and green salsa were watery, not much taste or spiciness. Loved that it had different ingredients than other places. Will come again.

To my surprise the Cali burrito was delicious! BUT- not as much fries and my usual Mexican shops. Carne asada was tender and juicy, actually really good!! Rolled tacos had the sour cream guac, which I like. Service was great, it was lunch time and lots of workers in the area lined up! Red and green salsa was good. Horchata hit the spot on a hot and humid day. Flan was good as well! Meals came with chips and there's a salsa bar!

Came here after outlet shopping ordered flautas and their quesadilla supreme. Speedy service, food was great standard sauce had heat and flavor! All and all pretty great if your in the area

Order a basic Carne Asada burrito. I added the cheese and sour cream. It was good. I also ordered flan. Nice flavors, but the light evaporated milk after taste, I was not a fan. I love a dense flan. This had the texture of instant flan but baked.

There is plenty of Mexican food selections in Chula Vista, and I think I have hit about 80% of them. Señor Pancho is in my top 10 list for sure. The staff are friendly, food is good, and the prices are reasonable. They offer a full menu with all the top taco shop combos and meals. You also get a free little bowl of chips when you order; most places charge, so that is a plus. Señor Pancho's is reasonably clean. It's a taco shop, so they keep it better than most. Parking is tight, especially on the weekdays. They have three spots for customers, and if those are filled, you will have to find street parking. The parking lot next to them is for the medical center, and they monitor it. On the weekends you can park there, but not during business hours on weekdays. If you're looking for a new spot in Chula Vista for a Mexican food fix, then add Señor Pancho's to the list.

We come here when we don't want to go too far. The 2 items that never fail in flavor are the rolled tacos and doña chole tacos. Everything else we've ordered just wasn't that good. I ordered caldo de rez yesterday and the chiyote was hard, the meat looked like the round steaks you buy from the grocery store, not cut up chunks like normal caldos have and the meat had lots of unavoidable fat. For 11.99 I think they could at least make it easier to eat. I had to pour everything in another bowl but had to chop everything down into bite size pieces. They provide very large pieces.

This place used to be extremely good, but recently I have found that every time I order they give a smaller portion than they used to. The California burrito is nearly twice as small as it used to be and that makes me disappointed.

The food was okay, it could have used a little bit more of salt and pepper. But I have to say I really enjoyed the three mini tacos. I would definitely recommend it if you're in a quick hurry to get a nice bite to eat.

Food is good but the wait is very long. I waited at the order menu for a while and called out a couple of times and then had to drive up to the window. Even then I was ignored for a few minutes. I had to wait another 20 Minutes for my order. Once I got home I found they got my order wrong and I had to go all they way back. They did not even offer a compensation for wasting my time, but they did get the food to me within 5 minutes. I recently ordered food and the wait was less. This is also one of the Mexican fast food restaurants that accepts credit cards.

I had a craving for enchiladas and this was the nearest spot in between meetings. I went through the drive through. The woman has a naturally pleasant, warm and friendly voice. Yes, that caught me attention. You can order two enchiladas for $5 bucks. Not to shabby. I like that the enchiladas were good in size and the presentation was enticing. I do prefer the thicker red sauce with flavor. They delivered. I also appreciated white cheese filling instead of the yellow. Drive through was quick. 3 stars because we know that Covid in South Bay is increasing. The two staff in the restaurant preparing and serving drive through did not have facial coverings. I'm not sure about the cook because I was in drive through. The flavor of the enchiladas was decent. There is a full menu to choose from. I would consider the prices reasonable.

I have gone to the shop many times, and although the food is pretty good, I usually have a long wait to receive my food. Today I rolled up in my car to the order window, and waited 10 minutes in front of the order speaker to just place an order. I continually said "hello" until 6 minutes into this a voice finally replies, "can you wait for a minute please?" and then finally I get my order taken 4 minutes after that. Then I finally arrive at the pickup window to pay 7 minutes after that, where I pay with the only tener I have, a $100 bill. I was first told that they do not have enough change, then was told that they will be right back. I finally get my change and food 7 minutes after that. Total wait time to get a Campachana and carne asada taco: 24 minutes. At least the food was fairly good, although the campachana has a lot less shrimp and octopus, and much more vegetables than in the past. I was looking for a corporate number to complain, but could not find anything.

The food tasted really great but the picture had more meat than the reality. And the lady that spoke in the drive thru was horrible. I ordered from the menu and she just kept saying we don't have that. Yes, you do, it's on the menu and she just kept repeating herself and making me feel like I'm dumb for ordering something off the menu. So I ordered something else and she was pretty sassy and rude the entire time. And then suddenly changed her attitude at the end in a higher pitch tone of voice. Probably only because she overheard me saying that I'm going to give a bad review. I won't be back.

Ordered birria and cabeza tacos.. they put the exact same meat inside which was full of fat.. and there was a hair in the taco,,, the service took too long the food was a huge disappointment.. I WONT RECOMMEND OR GO BACK

Overcharges for food and is very rude and condescending! Consistently charges different prices for the same order, but when confronted about it is rude and condescending. Order take was argumentative and very disrespectful. It’s too bad because they are in a convenient location, however I will no longer be going there.

Beware of using Debit card at this taco shop. I've never had an issue using a Debit card until using it at this place. Used a new never used Debit card and later I received alerts that unauthorized purchases were made using the cards number. Fortunately the bank recognized they were fraudulant charges and denied them. Interesting the woman at the window gave me my receipts but temporarily forgot to return the Debit card. On one note the food wasn't bad but use cash, there's something rotten in this shop.

Waiting on the drive thru at 10:40 pm for someone to take my order, web says closing time is 11:00pm and No one answer or at least say sorry we close earlier, there was one car in front of me I don’t hear if someone took his order or even said if they was close. Please at least tell you customer you are not taking any orders.

This is what i mean by not going by the reviews. Ive been here a few times and never because i want to come here...well yes, only the first time and that was it, no more! Carne asada fries were pint size and with a big price. That was first time. Lets move forward a few years forward. Same story!! The portions are still the same...small, very small! These burritos should be called burritos de tortilla de harina with some meat. Just being real here Sr Panchos. Would definitely not recommend the burritos and the carne asada fries. Other stuff on the menu? Dont want to get 3 whammies in a row.

My family has been coming here for decades, however the past year prices have skyrocketed, and food is overcooked, dry and just not good! Very disappointing, none of my family come here anymore, it’s not work the money and crappy food.

I live far away, so realizing my food is wrong after I get home is extremely frustrating. This place needs better order accuracy and customer service. This is ridiculous. I always ordered this Sonora taco and loved it. But today, the taco was half the size it used to be. I called to ask what happened and was told the manager said to use a smaller tortilla. What a rip off. This tiny taco costs over $5.00. How does a business give you something half the size it used to be but keep charging the price for the larger portion? Crooked and greedy owners that don't care about their customers, that's who.
