We come in here every night for a snack. Because we live in Coalinga and its convenient. The people who work the night shift are very considerate. Although we have had a bad experience once when are bread for are burgers was molded. I spoke with the manager and we tried to fix the problem but he just wanted to argue . So I just shook it off and still went back.

Carl's Jrs got the best charbroiled burgers....and open 24/7 plus sit down dining. Friendly ladies at the front, too. What other place can you get your favorite burger at 6am ?? So 5 stars for Carl's.

Lizbeth was so cheerful and friendly. Food was definitely an upgrade over McDonald’s next door. On future trips down south to go fishing I will remember to stop by here for breakfast more often.

5 stars for a Carl's Jr? Hear me out... Wandered in there because it had been a long time since I'd been to a Carl's, and I remembered liking the old "Western Crispy Chicken" sandwich (crispy chicken, cheese, bacon, onion rings and bbq sauce). Went inside, scanned the menu, and couldn't find it. So I asked the woman behind the register if they still had it. She said no, but then immediately offered to make one up for me! Special order. She did, brought it out to me, and it was delicious (just like I remembered). Wish I got her name, but she was super friendly and helpful. (Around 12:15pm on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.)

The basic Famous Star cheeseburger has a very good ratio of beef to bun with lettuce, onions, tomato, and cheese. Similar to an In and Out Double Double, but with tastier higher quality beef. Fries are good, but not as good as the fresh cut ones at In and Out, when ordered well-done.

Great customer service went in this morning for breakfast it was very delicious & cooked to order very fresh ! Definitely will be coming back! Restrooms were also clean & great place to seat down & eat.

Best burger after driving down the I5 from the Bay Area towards LA. The place was recently remodeled with a burger that was much bigger and tastier than I remember. Had great service and super clean restrooms. Fast but worth every penny. Will be stopping again when passing through.

Stopped here to use the grab a quick bite and use the bathroom before continuing my drive to SoCal. I think the cashier's name was Natalie. She was really nice and had a great attitude. All the workers there seemed genuinely happy to be working with each other. I had the double of the El Diablo. It was really good! Just a little spicy but not too much. Pretty cheesy and good contrasting taste from the jalapeños. Definitely will get another one next time at Carl's Jr. Everything we had was freshly made, A+!

Generic Carl's Jr. restaurant, but it was pleasant to go to after a long while on the road. The fries we got had been a little underdone.

The food and staff were both really good but I knocked a point off due to a strong smell of dairy farm permeating the air. Inside the restaurant was OK but outside was tough on the nose.

Food is good. They were missing items, however, like onion rings. I guess they were sold out on a Monday afternoon. I asked for a lemonade and they gave me an empty cup. I had to go back to ask them to fill it with the hand crafted lemonade I purchased.

A good stop on the I-5. Typically less busy than other places so easy in and out and back on the road. The A/C is a bit cold especially coming in from 90+ degrees.

Expensive prices compared to other locations in this region. Cinnamon roll is *over* $5 before tax. My guess is the high prices are due to EV charging nearby. People are directed to stop here to charge, and so food prices are going up. Sign of things to come...

It's a hit or miss location. Sometimes other places are too busy so I come here. Some days the food is good and others they aren't so much. The bad days you'll get old fries or fresh fries that taste like old oil which means they obviously didn't change their fryer oil. The good days are when the burgers are hot and the fries don't taste like oil. As for the staff I can say it is a hit or miss as well. Overall if you're willing to take a chance then I wish luck and I hope you go on a good day. In term of Restrooms this place is okay. I would recommend Starbuck's or Denny's instead. McDonalds is alright for restrooms. The worst place is the 76 gas station then I'd have to say the Arco Station before Chevron. I have never gone to the Valero so I wish you well. This is the only Carl's jr for 30 miles, they take advantage of being off the highway and over charge for everything! 2 regular combos with medium drinks and no extras was over $29. The food has gotten smaller and minimal toppings. Very disappointing, I can go to HARRIS RANCH and get a meal for same price. It's not high quality any longer. Skip it and go elsewhere unless you are made if money!

Carl's Jr is Carl's Jr. Last I heard it's close to in and out in terms of food quality. I heard they have sliders now and would love to try out their happy hour menu (or whatever marketing thing they just rolled out). I haven't gone to Carl's in a while but I'll keep it in mind next time I get some fast food.

I got attitude in the drive through even though I spoke clear loud and nice kept having me repeat everything which I did so with no attitude . passenger laughed because she made it seem like I whispered and I got no a single world from her the rest of the transaction but the look said it all lol.

I just but one meal for $21.50 asked for hot sauce etc via drive through. Got on the road open the bag found not hot sauce and no napkins. What do you expect me to do while on the road with all the juice dripping from the burger 🍔

Food was fine, but they see you coming. The prices are ridiculous because it's the last food for a while. $65 to feed 4 people. Nothing fancy, we only ordered meals.

The burgers were very greasy and it made the bread gooey. Quite an untidy place. No napkins outside, when I asked for it, they threw a stack to me. One burger had the wrong ingredients got a new one, but the behavior was not good.

It was good overall, there's just one thing that irritates me and my wife; if we want to order food to go we would obviously go via "drive thru", but if we walk inside and sit at a table waiting for the order, it is obvious we are going to eat there, then why in the world would you give us the order in a bag, packed to go. I just don't understand that, unless it's is a protocol specific of the restaurant.

I was really disappointed. I asked for no tomatoes and got tomatoes. It was a combo so I should have gotten fries - nope, no fries. I asked for onion rings and queso - got the onion rings but the question was like paste. I was into hour 3 of a 6.5 hour dri e and was starving. Going back was not an option. I stopped by this Carl’s Jr and would give it a three-star rating. The bathroom was decently clean, but oddly, there was no soap, even though I walked in right after an employee left, which felt a bit creepy and off-putting. The food was fine, typical fast-food quality, and the lobby was cleanish. The no-soap issue really stuck with me, though, and brought down the overall experience. Could be better, but not terrible.

Well, the chicken sandwich and the chicken strips were ok, but despite the many customers, the fries were lukewarm and the soda was mostly carbonated water. Also, don't get your hopes up for a clean bathroom. The outdoor garbage bins were overflowing but I did see a worker beginning trash duty (we were there at about 630pm on Labor Day for reference). Kettleman City is about 20 minutes south and has a few more options, including an In n Out.

I've eaten at this Carls before, across from Harris Ranch. This particular time it was very substandard. Only game in town type with ZFG business model. I'll never waste $18 here again on a dried out patty guacamole burger.

Customer service was good. Bathroom is clean. Food is hot. My issues are with the sense of Nickel and dimming I felt. We ordered three 5 piece chicken tender combos. 1 small 2 medium The drink sizes were correct however when we hit the road we realized the fries were all the same size. I do not know if that is a new company policy but for 50 dollars for three combos give me the right size fry please. Additionally, we had to ask for napkins as there were no napkins set out. There none in the bag. My problem is with management of this facility not the actual workers themselves.

The people at the cashier don't listen right, and we're a bit rude, and it's expensive I spent $41 for 2 meals. I should have gotten mcdonalds I could gotten more meals with the $40

It has been a while since my last road trip fast food stop. I was first shocked by the outrageous prices, $12-$15 for a combo meal. Then, the quality of the meal was severely lacking. Little meat on the sandwich, etc. If you have the option, pass this place up for any other choice down the road...

Definitely an experience in patience going through this drive thru. The young female taking our order either was not paying attention or just could not hear. When my husband was finished ordering, she started to recap our order, but it wasn’t even close to what my husband had said. He repeated himself, and afterwards she just gave our total, which was a bit exorbitant compared to prices outside of California. Located off of the interstate, the restaurant was easy to access, and the parking lot was simple to navigate. Fries were too dark from old grease. Our fried chicken sandwiches would have tasted much better in cleaner grease.

While on a road trip, I decided to get Carl’s Jr. instead of McDonald’s. I ordered a large combo. Unfortunately I received a medium fries amount. I’m definitely disappointed.

Nothing redeeming about this place. It's filthy, the person who served us was unfriendly, no fish selections, it's overpriced and to top it off, they brought me this sickly-sweet Three Way abomination instead of the turkey burger that I ordered. I will not be back.

I got attended by an ugly short young Mexican girl. Once it was time to pay she asked me credit or debit so I chose debit. Once sitting I noticed a $1 charge (ridiculous) for using debit. What surprised me after was that every other client (which wr white) after me was warned to choose credit because debit had a $1 charge. I have a lot of tatoos so felt very discriminated. Didn't want to make her look foolish so decided to just write a bad review...food wasn't all that either!!!!!

Ordered drive-thru fish and chicken sandwiches, both were dry with very hard, unchewable crust, as if they were sitting under a heat lamp for hours. Ended up throwing them away.

Asked for a bun not covered it BBQ sauce and the employees told me its fine and they would eat it. Who asked you? Horrible crew except for one employee, who brought me a new bun and ignored his crew. Garbage all around.

I can't believe my grilled chicken sandwich without BBQ sauce still has 11 grams of SUGAR. Carl when are you going to care for my health?? Possibly the worst sandwich I ever had. After a 30 min wait - customer# 4 - with maybe five other people in the restaurant, I got the grossest Grilled cheese sandwich I had in my life. Carl's - sorry, I had to throw it away.

The worst food I've eaten in recent memory, and I went through basic training. First of all, I got upsold to a bigger size burger without her even asking. Second, there was a one dollar debit fee...? Third, the burger was disgusting, dry, tasteless and cold. Fourth, the bun was super dry and brittle and broke , leaving me with an open ended dust burger that was sparsly topped with condiments and 1 tomato and 2 measly slices of onion. All around a terrible experience. Everyone involved with that place should hang there head in shame.

Service was fine, but bathroom was filthy. No baby changing station. No soap. Two stalls no toilet paper. Seemed to take a while for food which wasn't even hot when we got it. Ice machine wasn't working so the soda was hot. Flies all inside didn't stay to eat. Please remind me not to go here again.

I always check my order before I leave a drive thru this day was no exception! And just like I thought they definitely messed up my order! I was in line for 10 minutes while they remade my burger! Just as I was leaving I remembered that they did not get give me a receipt, they gave it to me and as I checked it out I had paid with my credit card and I didn't receive it back as well! I asked about it and Mya, I believe was her name went to go look for it and brought it back to me she also let me keep the burger that was made wrong!

They tried to fraudulently charge me .60 cents for every extra ranch saying that I was only allowed 2 for THREE burgers I had ordered. They rang it up as lettuce and I requested that if they were to charge me for sauce then ring it up under sauce or ranch but not lettuce as that is straight up illegal charging for a different product or service and giving you a different one. They argued with me and said no they can only ring it up as lettuce and if I didn’t want it then to just leave. Additionally, I know personally that all the franchises of Carl’s Jr. does not charge anywhere near that exorbitant amount for ranch. Good luck guys, you’ll be hearing from the BBB (better business bureau) for this incompetence.

Stopped by this location buying $24.26. Oreo shake came it was joke. Looks like some of employees maybe already taste half of shake. Looks nasty asked want to talking with manager. Finally manager came told me they was measuring. Omg. If they are so crazy about measuring they should shutdown business. I felt to sorry about didn’t take the photo for Oreo shake put the internet. Over here is nothing but the few gas stations most customers is passing through customer but hopefully they are treating customers better than they do now.

Ok. Let me get started with The service.. When I went in the Girl standing on the Cashier gave me dirty looks, and started talking in a tone I did not like. Then me and My family asked for an offer that applies to all the Carl's Juniors we went too but then she said she didn't carry specials.... Me,mom and dad did not think the Service was good. I would not recommend this Carl's junior to anyone. It was Horrible..

Absolutely terrible. Breakfast sausage patty looked and tasted like it sat out in the sun for a few weeks.

Don't waste your time or money here, they over charge because they are next to the hwy. The meat is dry and tastes like it's been under a heat lamp for an hour. And the will ring up the most expensive burger option they have even if it's not what you ordered. You'd be better off getting food at the gas station next door.

The problem was that the hamburgers were soggy, used yucky old lettuce and the fries tasted moldy. Then we sat at a booth table that smelled like urine. Are they using the same dirty water bucket and mop as the bathroom ? It just smelled awful. The only good thing was that the person who took our order was so positive and happy.

Got into a fist fight with a homeless guy that was Hitch hiking. Never got to eat. Beware of the zombie homeless around.

Waited for a little longer than I'm used just to get burnt food. Just couldn't chew it unbelievable. Bugs all over the drive thru window.

DO NOT! I Repeat DO NOT bother with this place. It’s by far the worst carls I have ever been to. This place needs some serious staff renovation. First, I order a $20 medium combo and get a 1/2 bag of fries. When I ask for a full order I get 3/4 of a bag of fries. I open my burger. A smashed, lukewarm, disgusting thing. The managers should be embarrassed.

Been to multiple locations they all have a meatless option or will charge you separately for a bun an other items here no they wanted to charge me $7 for a famous star minus the patty. I guess the string smell of cow manure outside makes you lose a few brain cells!!

Update October 26, 2025: Frustrated with the Drive-Through Experience I recently went through the drive-through and unfortunately had a pretty disappointing experience. My entire order came out incorrect, and to make matters worse, I was charged for a size upgrade I never requested. When I brought this to their attention and asked for my correct order, they remade everything—which I appreciate—but didn’t offer to refund the difference for the upcharge I didn’t want. I had to actually ask for my money back before they processed the refund, even after returning all the incorrect items. I understand mistakes happen, but the lack of initiative to make things right without prompting was frustrating. Review from early 2025: I had a disappointing experience at Carl's Jr. when I visited their drive-through around 11 PM. I ordered a few burgers to go as I was driving up north back home. Unfortunately, upon opening the burgers, we found a hair in two of them. This was a major turn-off and completely ruined our meal. I tried to contact the restaurant to file a complaint, but no one picked up the phone. The lack of food hygiene and poor customer service left a sour taste in my mouth. I hope they can address these issues to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Don’t go here it way extremely overpriced. My sandwich had mold on the bread. My mom ordered a sausage & egg sandwich and look at the state of the egg , it’s literally paper thin. Overall the experience was horrendous. If you could avoid this place , please do.

Not sure if it's the remote location on I-5 but the price of their new Hot Honey Hand-Breaded Chicken Sandwich after tax was almost $10 for just the chicken sandwich without fries or drink. It's an average chicken sandwich that was nothing special. For that price, you can have 2 excellent and much larger spicy chicken KFC sandwiches that are more flavorful and filling. Skip this location and definitely skip Carl's Jr's new and disappointing chicken sandwich.

The cashier doesn't pay attention. So we got multiple wrong items on our order. Not only that, they couldn't fix it. And on top of that they didn't care about fixing the problem. The food wasn't exactly top quality even for a regular chained fast food shop.
