Great Mexican food in Colfax! Stopped here on the way back from Lake Tahoe on a cold snowy day. Excellent food for kids and adults, cozy atmosphere, friendly staff. Highly recommend it, we'll be back next time we head up to the lake!
Delicious high quality food for anyone in Colfax or just passing by. Amazing Taco Tuesday deal and wish I lived closer by! Stopped by again while driving through and had another amazing dinner plate. Cant get enough!
Stopped here heading back from Tahoe. Was amazing! Was greeted nicely and patiently while we decided what to order. Chips and salsa free along with a wife variety from the salsa bar. My burrito was not only huge but also delicious. 10/10 recommend this restaurant!
I'm so grateful I saw this place from the freeway! I wasn't even planning on getting food...but I did need to get out and stretch. And duh, I love little places! Everyone was super nice! They have a very small inside seating area, but a very cute, half inside half outside, sitting area. Food was great! The Al Pastor taco came with pineapple. That was new to me, thanks! I rarely get much cheese, but vacation rules were in effect and I got a queso birria ... I highly recommend that! The salsas were good, not very spicy, unless I missed it. Very tasty though. Thanks guys and gals for a great meal and being so friendly! You got a great spot to stretch at and grab some grub! Side note, if you have picky kids...they have mini corndogs and chicken strips and fries and stuff. My kids were happy with it.
Great atmosphere; honoring HJoes. Great selection of tacos. The food is AAA; top chef here. Service and hospitality five stars and so on. The churros omg the best ones in the USA. Thank you!
For my first visit I wanted to sample a variety of meats, so I got three tacos: Al Pastor, Asada and Carnitas. All were fresh and high quality with excellent flavor and no inedible fat/gristle. Served on two soft, lightly fried yellow corn tortillas topped with onions and cilantro. Very good free chips and a salsa bar with mild green, super hot Habanero, and Pico de Gallo options. Tapatio and Cholula bottles are on the tables to meet red sauce needs. Pickled carrots & jalapenos, radishes and limes also available. Overall, excellent food and service at a fair price and as good as the best taquerias down in the Sacramento area.
Complete fire establishment. We had asada Street tacos! My wife and daughter enjoyed the food. Great location and the view was great
Stopped in here on the way back from Tahoe. What a little gem! The torta and quesabirria tacos were excellent!
It's a nice lil spot off the I - 80 the service was wonderful and the food wonderfully fresh and delish.

Simple setup . Good food with decent portion size.. All sauces were great. Must visit if you are around and looking for food..
I gave atmosphere a 3 because its kind of hole in the wall kind of place but the FOOD! OMG it was beyond delicious. 5 of us all ordered different plates and we were all amazed at the flavors and quality. Very yummy highly recommend.
I saw this when I was driving past on the freeway and thought it looked cute and quaint. My family is in Roseville, and I visit often from the Midwest. Today I wanted to take my elderly mom some place different and get out of Roseville so thought this would be a fun mini road trip. First thing I noticed was minimal parking so parked across the street up against the fence. We got inside then realized how small it was. Table and chairs for six plus counter style seating for five along the front window. There’s a room that faces outdoor that is open air as well as patio seating. A little chilly for that. There’s a walk-up window to order; the food came out quickly. If you’re looking for booth seating and a waitress, that’s not here. The food was fresh and very good. Seemed like mostly locals here. Only one bathroom with one toilet so if someone with serious constipation beats you to the bathroom, like what happened to us today, you might as well go to a nearby gas station…
The food was absolutely delicious, service was friendly and professional. We got there right before they were suppose to close and they still made fresh chips for us. I'm really picky when it comes to ordering my food, changing this for that, that for this etc. It drives my husband crazy. But the gentleman that took my order had no bad attitude and was nice and accommodating. We odered a Chili Reono Burrito, a Chimichanga Burrito, a Shrimp Fajitas Burrito and a Taquito plate. Unfortunately I think there was a communication error because instead of a Shrimp Fajitas Burrito, we received a Shrimp Fajitas plate with tortilla shells, which still was really delicious, just messy to eat in my opinion.
The best word I can use to describe this restaurant is authentic. The cooks weren't shy of using too much or too little of any flavor, giving this restaurant's food a vibrant taste that stands out from overly americanized Mexican restaurants. I enjoyed every bite, and I feel anybody who comes here will feel the same.
The food is excellent, the salsa bar is awesome they bring you chips and the Mango habanaro salsa is the bomb I baught two 16oz ones for our Christmas party and it was a hit!

The food was very good. The service was friendly, and the food came very fast. I did dine in which there are not a lot of spaces and it is a no thrills atmosphere which keeps the cost down, which is fantastic. Highly recommend it was very good
Cute little taco shop in the town. A lot of people seemed to complain about the food in recent reviews but I thought it was really good. I got two tacos for $14, which I thought was pricey, but it came with rice, beans, pico, and guac! At most places guacamole costs extra. Also came with a side of chips and they have a pepper bar. I’d go back just for that mango habanero salsa!

Okay, the food is good. But if you're looking for anything anything in the way about atmosphere or even cleanliness you will be sorely disappointed. I'm not saying it's dirty. But it is very rundown. They should spend some money fixing it up.

3 street tacos for $7 is awesome but the carne asada was terrible. No flavor, it was like boiled meat not true carne asada. I thought maybe they had a White Guy cooking but it looked like a Mexican. The girl up front was young and the tables were dirty with food scraps. The salsa bar was nice but sloppy mess. I won't be back I'd rather eat at Taco Bell, at least they have flavor.
I am a regular here. My only mexican restaurant in town. I Park in front of the restaurant. I Look to my left the Caucasian lady that works the register with a beanie on her head and glasses is rolling on the ground with her dog, petting him. She sees me walking in the door she goes to the register, doesn't wash her hands.Don't mind you.She was rolling on the ground with the dog.She looked drunk or high. She could barely take my order. She did not wash her hands before touching my food. After playing with that dog. Very disgusting. After taking my order i'm waiting. She gets a chip with her hand out of their container and goes to the salsa bar and puts her chip inside of the containers where everybody serves their self. That was so disgusting my last time there. I hope she is not the owner.I see her work in there all the time.I hope the owner sees this review.
The sauce on the chili relleno was far more like marinara or spaghetti sauce; Italian seasonings don’t belong here. They also do not know what a food allergy is and will not take precautions; even when told explicitly that there is an allergy and that it cannot be on any plates in the order. When they cause an allergic reaction, they will blame you and make excuses. When one plate was covered in the substance, the excuse was “it doesn’t usually come on that”. If you like Italian Mexican food served by folks who donor care if you die, come on down to Madi’s.
