Amazing!!!!! Seriously the best sandwich I‘ve ever had!! We won a gift card at the FFA raffle, that’s how we found the shop and oh my gosh I’m so thankful! And the owner was working her butt off all alone and was still so pleasant! I highly recommend!!! Weekdays are better because she has help ❤️ I got the Turkey sandwich! So yummy!!

Hidden in the gas station, we'd never have known this little gem existed if it wasn't for a locals recommendation! Pretty extensive grill menu given the size of the location filled with burgers (including very yummy veggie burger), sandwiches, fries and onion rings. Would highly recommend to grab food and head to Henningsen Lotus Park to eat by the river! 10/10 would return!

Wonderful food and staff! Wouldn't think a deli in a gas station would be so great, but it is! Very clean. Great tasting food. Willing to work with specific dietary needs, even a black bean burger for vegetarians! Favorite food spot!

Great food inside this old Chevron station when you have been down on the water. Cheese steak is so good, sandwiches made to order. Very friendly and patient with questions. Parking lot was full of people, everyone walking out with brown bags full of some delicious smelling food. No indoor seating but picnic tables outside. If you take it back down to the water please don't leave your trash.

This place is legendary. The best sandwich I have ever had and it is actually inside a gas station! If you are ever in Coloma and you are lucky enough that they are open, you have to try it. Heck, it is worth driving from Sac to get a sandwich there.

I have the mushroom burger and swiss I had them at onions it was Dynamite I really love that place the burgers are the best I've ever had every time I go by there I will stop and get me a burger regardless if dinner is almost on the table I would save it for the next day and eat it

Burgers are great, haven't tried anything else really. Hear great things from people who tried other food on menu. Solid choice for any meal of the day.

Was almost turned away from trying their burgers due to the unpleasant welcome or lack thereof. Very unfriendly, yet I am very pleased to say that I will be returning for another Burger. It's arguably one of the best burgers for under $20 anywhere. So if you stop by, ignore the stiff , short , seemed to be bothered by your presence treatment and get yourself a burger from here. You will not be disappointed. Hint to the employee, it is OK to smile.

What a hidden gem! So my fellow wouldn’t eat a Philly cheesesteak since he had one back in Philly. Any of the ones he had outside of Philly had been crap in comparison until he had tried one from this joint, now he doesn’t want to stop eating them. My mother swears by their burgers, says the Philly’s are amazing but she is a burger person and that these are the best burgers she has ever had. We have figured out the best of both worlds, she gets a burger, I get a Philly and we split- it’s perfect! Now there is no shrinkage here in the amount of food you get like other places and you get your money worths. I also don’t find it a downside it being inside a gas station because the river is right there and as soon as you find a spot your food is cooled down enough that you can inhale it. Trust me you will, kind of like the chick on Cone Heads does with her sandwich. You work hard for your money and no better way to treat yourself than getting yourself something from Take a Bite and enjoying some time by the river while you eat it.

Okay, so Im a local in Lotus and I go here whenever I feel like a quality burger but don’t feel like driving all the way into town. I really like all the girls that work in the deli, they are very nice and work EXTREMELY HARD to get your order out as fast as possible which I know is tough having worked in kitchens/restaurants for 6 years off life. The food is always good (not anything to die for but good). My issue is that whenever I feel like a burger and not driving into town, I go here and order one of theirs for 9.50 which isn’t a bad price but it is when you consider it doesn’t come with fries or a side at all! I always forget this as 9.50 for just a burger just doesn’t seem right. And I always get it home and realize that “oh yeah, they don’t give you fries with it”. So this time I remembered to order fries as well and it turns out they charge you 3.75 for a handful of them. It’s not even like a speedster order, just a handful they fry to order and toss in the bag with the burger. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is again, I really like the people the own and run the joint but I mean COME ON. 15 bucks for a hamburger and fries (no drink) from a little hole in the wall deli? It’s not the kinda place where the food justifies the price. I would love to see them add an option on the menu for a “meal deal” and maybe add a buck to the price of the burger for the handful of fries that get tossed in the bag, but this last experience has turned me off to going back. I understand that they use their location as a tourist trap to get max value from all the a**ho*e tourists that visit our beautiful community and litter and drink and drive and just be dumba** tourists so I guess there is a little justice in them charging those kind of prices towards those type of people, but there should absolutely be a “secret menu” or “local deals” that are more reasonable and I probably won’t go back until something of the sort gets instituted!!!
