This place just emits good vibes. The people are fantastic, the pizzas are great - italian style thin crust - live music and just a chilled authentic atmosphere. Board games, cards and other things to keep the kids happy, great beer and wine selection. It's hard to not leave feeling better than you did when you arrived. Keep up the good work.

Complicated to navigate the ordering sequence, but once you figure it out it's perfect. Definitely a huge compliment to a fantastic, epically historic location. They keep a great selection of local takeout beers and ciders. This place is so overdue!

Friendly, affordable and great ambiance. Easily the liveliest place around on a weekend night, and the pizza we had was tasty and well above our expectations as travelers. Nicely sprawling outdoor scene with live music (when we were there) behind the little building where they take your orders. Shout out to the hard working staff who got us our pies- with smiles - in next to no time despite beginning to run out of pizza!

Great outside venue under the oaks. Outside bar with live music in the afternoon, and evenings. There are a number of food choices in the Coloma Valley, with many opening and closing in one, or two sesons. Marco's has been around for many years, providing a consistent, causal dining experience.

They had a band called Ryder's Thefts play, and they were awesome. The beer and pizza were quite good and the staff friendly. I had a wonderful time.

It is a good place to have a drink or a bite after a day of rafting or kayaking in the river. During holiday weekends it might be a little crowded. Easy parking.

What a fun place this is!! I attended open mic with a friend. The outdoor seating, stage, dance floor & bar are the perfect set-up for a summer evening. I enjoyed a salad and a slice, both delicious! All of the staff were nice; young Jace was especially pleasant, friendly & attentive. I enjoyed my first visit to Marco's Cafe and will absolutely return!

Such a fun little Community out there by the river and Marco's ties it all together. I suggest trying the unique Pizza. Specifically, the potato has to or the Marco's combo. The cold brew coffee was surprisingly delicious and much-needed. It provides a great place for families to gather and listen to music and not feel like you're at a bar

This is a very cool spot in the heart of Downtown Lotus CA. They moved from their original location into the original Lotus Store that existed in the late 1800's. They have a sweet hand made wood fired pizza oven and the pizza is delicious! Oh, and Ice cream too. #communityplace

Excellent Pesto! Try the cold noodle pesto bowl. Fun place with locals, especially on open mic night. The talent was amazing. If you don't want to go to the tourist places, this is the place to go. Good healthy, flavorful food and friendly service.

If you have not tried Marco's Cafe, you are missing out! The famous square pizza never disappoints and is always so fresh and hot out of the oven. Their salads are amazing and the homemade vinaigrette dressing will turn any non-salad person into a salad lover! They have amazing and unique specials that incorporate local, fresh produce, cheeses, etc., that are a must order. And to complete the meal, you can pair your food with some awesome local beer and/or wine options that are out of this world! To top off the experience, Marco's is an outdoor restaurant that sits just near the South Fork of the American River and looks up to the golden hills of Coloma. Sitting out on the deck, listening to the live music, and watching the sunset illuminate the hillside is a magical experience that everyone should enjoy. I was also thoroughly impressed with the COVID-friendly accommodations they are making to keep their customers safe. I will definitely be back as soon as I can and recommend everyone to try this gem of a restaurant!

Pizza crust is amazing, and we also had the basil hummus which was very fresh and went well with the last bites of crust. There's chairs outside but not tables (yet?). It was hot as heck inside but I imagine that's a work in progress. The pizza oven is a work of art, as is the bar counter. I'm sure they will dial everything out in the next few weeks and we are very happy they have opened in this historic location.

Staff is friendly, the pizzas are amazing, if you like salad they have huge portions and reasonably priced. I've enjoyed the beers on draft and the live music they book here. Restrooms are clean but there is a wait for the one closer to the bar, best option is to use the porta potty if it's late at night. It's fairly close drive from the river and lotus park. Highly recommend this place after being on the river to relax and enjoy a beverage or 4 😉

Great tasting wood-fired pizza. Not as many crusty bubbles as we like but still delicious. There is a fair wait for this crusty goodness - mainly due to staffing. Well worth the wait. Locsl Lotus lager to drink. I had a nice scoup of toasted coconut/pineapple ice cream before we hit the road.

No silverware. Kind of needed it with this pizza... A bit floppy at the end of the slice. Garlic knots were a home run! If you love garlic, get the garlic knots. Pay at register and they bring the food. Very nice cashier waitress.

Fun place on a hot summer night. Their parking is limited, and their kitchen is not about to get any Michelin stars, but their bar is fine. Eclectic and laid-back crowd.

My wife loved the spinach salad, I had the cook add chicken and avocado which made it better! I drank iced tea and watched the kids running around and dogs having fun. Good local hangout.

Small cafe and deli in Exxon gas station. Great sandwiches using variety of meats and cheeses. Some desserts. Local newspapers.

Casual place that's a good stop after a day of rafting or hiking. Not too expensive. Good salads.

Pizza took 2 hours, it was burned, the staff seemed disorganized and rushed. The flavor of the pizza was okay.

10/26/14 We ate dinner here on a Friday night before a two-day rafting trip this June with a company only a couple of miles away (Mariah Wilderness). It was close to closing time when we arrived and they had run out of their red sauce veggie pizza, so I ended up with a large slice of pesto potato. My husband had breadsticks and ranch, and a slice of a chicken pizza (since they were out of pepperoni). ($20.65) The place was packed but our group of six found a table out front and drank some wine (purchased there) will we waited. There was a loud band in the back and even more people and some dogs. The pizza took forever to get to us - it was pretty good when it did arrive but the wait was awful. There was a really long line for the bathroom, but the trees/woods aren't far away for the not shy. While one of our friends waited at the table, a woman came and grabbed her pack of cigarettes off of it, ready to help herself to one. Our friend stopped her, but realized later in the night that her phone was missing (she'd had it there with her earlier). Perhaps the same woman took it. When she checked back with the place the next day they said they had not found one, that more than one was missing, and not to have high hopes for getting it back. The food was good and I really liked my second-choice slice, but since there aren't a lot of restaurant options in that area, I would imagine most weekend nights, especially in summer, will always be that packed - so expect a long wait for your yummy food.

I've heard great things about Marcos so we decided to try it. Unfortunately we were disappointed by the pizza. It's just personal opinion of taste but for the price I would recommend Whitewater Pizza, for about the same price you'll get more for your money with size and quality. But if you're looking for a cool hang out spot for a night out, Marcos is the place to be.

Popular spot for river people. Good vibes and bar, but I got diarrhea from their salad. Second time in two years. Go to party, but not to eat.

They handed the bag to my fiance with the pizza sideways because, "that's the only way it would fit in the bag." Yes and you absolutely have to use the handles. 🤦🏻‍♀️ They use paper plates and cover the pizza with foil for takeout. All the cheese sticks to the foil so that was fun. It's not great pizza but I ate some of it so 2-stars bc I did eat. Burnt focaccia bread for crust. Fiance had the potato pesto and says the potatoes were undercooked. 😑

Terrible customer service… specifically Gabby was very rude! We will never return & we won’t recommend Marco’s to anyone.

Popular place due to campers and tourists but the guys don’t know how to run their operation. We waited for pizza for 1 hour and in the end after we checked in with them 3 times they said they ran out of a pizza dough. I guess we could have waited 1 more hour having no idea we would never get our food. These guys did not seem to care and did not let us know the food was never going to arrive. National supply shortage is relevant for commodities not for pizza dough.
