My waitress was amazing, So polite and helpful she went above and beyond and the food was fresh, hot and delicious. The atmosphere was welcoming. Definitely going to try some more items on the menu

We recently tried this place after seeing they opened a location close to us. We LOVED IT!!! We were greeted as we walked in. There were places to sit. Our drink order & appetizer orders were taken within a few minutes. We always had a full glass of tea & someone always checking on us. I seems like they may all contribute to taking care of the customers, it didn't seem there was just 1 waitress assigned to any particular table. There was a steady amount of business coming in & out the door, whether to dine in or people picking up food. NOW, our food?.... Our Food. Was. Delicious!! There wasn't 1 thing we didn't like. I had the shrimp & catfish plate. Came w/ coleslaw, french fries, a slice of bread & both tartar sauce & cocktail sauce for dipping. I'm always leary about catfish b/c I don't like the "dirt" taste, but I couldn't even tell I had catfish on my plate...it was really clean! Nice size big, thick cuts of fish. No dirt/mud taste whatsoever & my shrimp appeared to be butterflied & maybe flatten out some, which I liked better than having a thick round piece of shrimp (mainly when battered). Coleslaw was unique, but very good & super creamy (which I like). SUPER reasonable in price, especially w/ the amount of food on the plate. (It was $13.99). My boyfriend had a bowl of their homemade Gumbo for an appetizer & the 30 piece shrimp plate. I had only tried Gumbo 2 prior to trying a bite of his & didn't care for it all that much, but the bite I had was yummy!! My guy's pretty criticizing when it comes to things like gumbo, etouffee or things alike & he really, really enjoyed the bowl he had. Of course, he enjoyed his shrimp plate asuch as I enjoyed the shrimp on mine. His was a bit pricier (obviously), but he said it was well worth it!! I gave it a 5 star rating b/c the food, service, time we got our food & pricing were all great! There were, however, 2 things that were maybe a bit of an "eh" & 1 of them is really not a bother to asuch as it might be to some others. 1.) unfortunately, there isn't much parking at this location. It's a GREAT location, but notuch parking & it doesn't help the situation when some people think the world revolves around them & had no consideration for others & just park in the middle of 2 spots as if they didn't care other people needed to park. 🤬🤬😤 2.) food was served on styrofoam plates. Now, I don't care much about this, but I know there are people that might. Im sure they are just trying to cut down on extra staff to have to constantly wash plates & this is easier for them as a small family business & as is, the parking situation. This is a company just starting at this location & this area & I'm sure they need to test the waters before investing 10s of thousands of dollars into a build in as good of a location w/ more parking. (Just my thoughts 🤷🏻‍♀️). With all that said...we will definitely be going back to Bayseas in the future! 😊

We decided to give Bayseas restaurant a try after an appointment near by. They did not disappoint! After carefully considering all the wonderful sounding options on the menu i opted for the Trout and Shrimp special. It came with fries and coleslaw. My favorite wife went with the large bowl of New England clam chowder which was very good. She also helped with my plate as well, which I definitely needed considering how much food they gave me. Everything was excellent, the trout was done just right and the breading was perfect. The shrimp were large and tasty. The coleslaw was made the way I like best, creamy but not too sweet, and the fries were crisp on the outside and tender inside. What made the excellent meal even better were their tarter and cocktail sauces. I took our servers recommendation and added a bit of malted vinegar to the tarter sauce and it was even better!! All the staff we spoke with were friendly and very helpful with our questions. We are already looking forward to going back and trying more of their menu!! I am includind two pictures of my plate since it was piled so high I needed to work my way down some to show the rest. I highly recommend giving Bayseas on 1316 Pat Booker Rd, Universal City, TX 78148 a try.😁

Wonderful service. Mouth watering food. And speedy service! Stopped in for lunch and I'm glad we did! Im a Bayseas Gumbo fan myself, but this day I enjoyed the catfish and shrimp special with coleslaw and onion rings. I was impressed with the service everyone was polite and personable. I was also very happy when the server brought a reasonably sized water pitcher and left it at the table. The amount of food fed me for lunch and dinner. And the size of the shrimp is just another enjoyable bonus. Here are a couple quick shots I took of the plate right before I chowed down.

Fabulous for catfish shrimp oysters, dine in or to go you will not be disappointed. The food here is outstanding and the people are very kind and hospitable area. They appreciate the people that come in and treat you with respect like you’re visiting your house. Excellent job.

This place is phenomenal! You get sooo much bang for your buck! The catfish is always fresh and crispy with tasty batter. Fried shrimp are great and their hushpuppies are some of the best I've ever had. The service is excellent as well, you will be well taken care of.

My Daughter and I had lunch at Baysea's yesterday because she has never had their food before. She was as surprised at the amount of food for the price as I was the first time I had a meal when they were in Converse. It's a casual and relaxing restaurant. We both ordered the popular fried fish and shrimp special. This restaurant is small, but we arrived as soon as they opened and didn't have to wait to be seated. Take-out is available. This location is open every day except Sunday. The food is so hot and fresh and delicious! The thinly breaded well-seasoned crust on the fish and shrimp is so crispy and delicious! The inside has a very delicate and fresh taste! The small gumbo was spicy and full of sausage and shrimp. The menu has a nice variety of items to choose from. The wait staff was also very friendly, professional, and attentive. I ordered chicken wings, potato salad, and collard greens to carry-out. All of the items were excellent also!  We will try the other wonderful items on our next visit!

We did takeout from Bayseas Seafood restaurant last weekend and have done so several times before this trip. We ordered two Large Catfish dinner entrees with 5 pieces of Catfish, Fried Shrimp, Coleslaw and French Fries. We also got an additional side order of Fried Shrimp. The food is always well seasoned, hot and tasty. We will definitely return again and would certainly recommend this place.

First time here and being from south Florida, I'm a seafood connoisseur. This seafood was amazingly good and flavorful. The restaurant seemed very clean and all tables were full, so I can tell it's a locals favorite here in Texas! The staff were quick and professional, also very nice!

We've been on the hunt for some good fish spots here in SA and we were lead to Bayseas. I must say the menu was full and we were very much so undecided but excited. The cashier was patient with us and she gave us some great suggestions and verbally condensed the menu for us so quickly we were actually able to make a collaborative decision. She knew her stuff and her recommendations will be tucked in our back pockets for the future lol. One thing she did highly talk about the most was the cornbread, she said it's not for sharing and we would regret not getting our own lol. She had that look in her eyes that told us to trust her and get that cornbread!! LOL. We ordered the Shrimp and Catfish Special, which came with 3 pieces of each, coleslaw and fries and we added on 2 pieces of cornbread. Now let me tell you baby lol that CORNBREAD!! She did not come to play!! Ohhhh my goodness!! The cashier didn't steer us wrong y'all lol it was THE BEST cornbread I've ever had at a restaurant. It was almost like a super moist cake and full of flavor 10/10 for sure. The fry and seasoning on the shrimp and catfish was good. However, we favored the shrimp more over the catfish. The catfish, was a bit to greasy.. it was good but greasy. The portion size was very filling and we definitely had leftovers. The fries were plain and not seasoned at all. The coleslaw was VERY good in flavor but overly saturated in juice. If you like alot of juice this will rock your world but our preference is that middle lane.. not to dry but not to juicy either.. again it was a very very good coleslaw 8/10. Lastly, dessert.. we got the chocolate & white chocolate ribbon cake and it was just okay 5/10 Overall, we would definitely go back to Bayseas and try some other things that caught our eye but the STAR of the show was the shrimp and the CORNBREAD!!. Customer service was great and I can say we enjoyed our lunch, we'll be back.

I was referred to this place. I took my family of 5. It was not any parking when we drove up there at first. I had to roll around the parking lot twice because it is a small parking lot. The inside is small but clean. My family ordered fried mushrooms and fried oakra, which was good hot & fresh. My mother, father, & myself ordered the catfish dinner. We got tilapia or some other fish instead. But they didn't tell us. They passed it on as catfish. And the other person ordered, wing & fries, 2 orders of seafood gumbo which was okay. When ordered desserts they were out of the desserts we want, like Bannana Pudding, Pecan Pie, so we got strawberry cake, lemon cake, sock to me cake, which it tasted like store bought cake not homemade. I'm disappointed that they charged me for catfish dinners but gave us some other kinda fish without letting us know. What if one of my family members had been allergic to the fish they pasted on as catfish? And had an allergic reaction. So, this is why my review is low. I hope they Never Do This Again To Any Customers. It may not turn out okay next time.
