If you're a fan of comfort food done well in Corpus Christi, check out Nolan's Restaurant. The name alone reminded me of my brother of the same name who was in F&B. Three time winner of the Caller Times Best of the best, this cozy location on Staples Street is a 3rd space home. Chicken Fried Steak was on special, the Bacon Cheddar Burger was choice. A big thank you goes to Mr. Nolan for his staff for attentive service and introducing a beloved photographer Rick Hunter, whose works are strewn across and around the restaurant.

Ordered a hamburger and fries. Both came out hot and it was probably the best burger I’ve had in ages. They use a regular hamburger bun, I’m tired of the brioche and Hawaiian buns a lot of places have switched over to. This was just an excellent old fashioned burger. Afterwards my wife and I shared a piece of carrot cake. It was a nice portion and moist. They have a nice selection of cakes and they are always good. The staff was courteous and helpful even with a huge party going on in the back room they didn’t seem too busy or overwhelmed to help.

Wow. Food was amazing, plentiful and reasonably priced. It has like a steak house/ old country feel. Dining room is very spacious. Alot like Bill Millers but with a steak house menu. Definitely going back to try the other dishes.

I must admit, one meal does not make a restaurant. I was there last week and decided to come back again this week. Ordered same plate as before and was not disappointed. Chicken tender plate came with fries and mac and cheese. You couldn't even see the plate it was so full. Great tasting strips and trimmings. My friend had the sirloin steak, 8 oz. Of course it was cooked to near perfection. You can't go wrong coming here. Staff is courteous and polite. I highly recommend Nolan's.

The food was delicious, the order wasn't complete, the atmosphere wasn't its best, only the cashier greeted us.

There was a huge party going on in the back ,but you would have never known it , the service was very good and we got our food in a timely manner. I think they were holding my food until my husband's was ready because my French fries were cold , but they gave me a fresh order that was hot. I had a Chicken Fried Steak it was very good, and I appreciate that they have a smaller one that is not the size of a dinner plate. I also had a side of fried okra that was hot and crispy. However, for a southern restaurant that asks, cream gravy or brown gravy , they have no concept of cream gravy( which I have been eating and making for over 50 years) it is more a yellow chicken gravy and if I was not from the south, I would be happy. I split a piece of carrot cake with my husband that was delicious and moist, and the frosting was not overly sweet.

*Non Smoker/Drinker, Drug/Med user* (taste buds not altered) Their famous CFS was greasy, the fries as well. My friend became sick in restaurant and throughout the parking lot. I was nauseated but I think the soda helped me not get like my friend. After I used the restroom I was better. Not a great 1st time exp.

Been going to Nolan’s for 50 plus years. My favorite was Weber Rd. back in the 70s. Recently went to the Staples location. Lunchtime and no customers. We ordered two poor boy meals with tea. Tea is $3.09. Total for both meals (remember, these are sandwiches) was $34 plus without the tip. Now I know why it’s empty. We won’t be going back at those ridiculous prices.

You order at the counter and they bring you your food. Quick service. Food was ok. I ordered the grilled chicken with green beans and broccoli. The chicken was ok. The green beans were bland and the broccoli was soggy. The roll was good with the garlic butter they put on it. My husband had their poboy and said it was more bread than anything.

I WOULD NOT recommend ordering food for pickup. I just spent dang near 50 bucks for food that was literally one degree from being "cool". The lady on the phone was great, the food was awesome after putting it in the microwave. But this isn't the only time this has happened. If the food is to be done in 15 to 20 minutes. We are there at 15 minutes. Last time we were 3 minutes earlier. We don't live very far from the restaurant. Either the food warmer isn't working correctly... or there must not be a food warmer... idk but it's kinda annoying to keep getting almost cold food (even the middle of the potato wasn't up to par). I will still continue to eat the food but I will be eating indoors from now on.. or ordering the food and waiting at the counter for 15 minutes.

We've been here a number of times before and it was okay. My bbq came out cold and my potato salad came out from the kitchen warm? Was too scared to eat it after tasting it.

Went to restaurant order chicken fried steak. Was given receipt with tip attached. Waiter came with two styrofoam cups and told to get my drinks at fountain. Food was the worst chicken fried steak. I was really disappointed with the whole experience,!!!!!!!!!!!!

Food really hurt my stomach, several people at my table didn't even eat their order. The fries are good but everything else just tastes like they deep fried it several times, no flavor, no seasoning, just greasy. The people were super nice but the food was just bad. 😬

I ordered a catfish poor boy sandwich, the fish was mushy ( is that a word?) I thought was suppose to be flaky! It was gross to say the least not to mention flavorless. I do not plan on returning!!
