First time there for brunch. I am guessing the banana bread French toast must be popular because I tried to order it and they were out. Disappointing. I ended up ordering smokehouse hash and this was good. The whipped feta and tahini dip was delicious. Peaches and rye cocktail was tasty. The server was attentive. Nice atmosphere. If we come back then we will try and sit upstairs when the weather is good.
My husband found this spot on Yelp. We decided to pop in and check it out. We liked the service and food. I LOVED the drinks (Campfire nd Full Moon) we had, which were spectacular! The ambiance was really nice. You can either choose to sit downstairs or upstairs on the closed-in roof. There's also room for parties, if you choose to rent the spaces. We'll definitely come back to visit!
Discovered this place as it was close to an event that we had in the area. Very busy (which was to be expected considering it was a Friday night) but was able to get a seat at the bar for myself and I. Food and drinks were served fast. I thought the pork belly nachos were a bit sweet but my wife enjoyed them. Pretty good selection of draft beers on menu. Would visit again for sure.
This is really just become my favorite place to go out on a Saturday night. The food is just fantastic, the service is always very good and friendly. The place is huge so it always is crowded so it feels festive, live music on Saturday night. The patio is wonderful when the weather is good with a beautiful view of downtown. Lots of good photo options in this place.
I normally come for the rooftop (opens at 4pm) and happy hour drinks, but decided to have lunch. I split ordered the crispy chicken katsu and the roasted salmon. Would definitely recommend both dishes. The Japanese milk bread was freshly toasted but soft in the middle yum!
Had brunch here and the food/vibes were immaculate. Delicious meal and yummy drinks. Spent about two hours here on a Sunday. After finishing our meal, we sat at the bar and chilled, having another drink. The fried chicken with a butter milk biscuit had a gravy with a nice lil kick-I’d order this again! The drink in the picture is their campfire vibes cocktail which definitely gave that feel and tasted like fall-sweet & robust. Definitely a great place to grab a bite and/or drink. There wasn’t a wait for brunch and staff was friendly. Skip the valet; free parking in front of the shops (confirmed free by security).
Amazing. From the service to the food you cannot go wrong. I am astounded by the variety of offerings and the way the kitchen creates each dish to perfection. We ordered a gauntlet of items from pretzels to sushi to pizza and all were excellent. The service is on par with much swankier spots and I couldn't say more about our server. There was an issue with one of our pizzas and the manager came out personally to speak with us. It was that care and personal touch that stands out. I love this restaurant and will return because I want to try absolutely everything on the delightful menu!
Culinary Dropout delivered a truly memorable dining experience for us on Christmas Eve. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming, and festive—exactly what you hope for on a holiday evening. The food was absolutely delicious across the board. Everything came out well-prepared, flavorful, and thoughtfully presented, making it clear that quality and consistency matter here. It’s the kind of menu that feels elevated without being pretentious—comfort food done right. What really elevated the evening, though, was the service. The waitstaff was attentive, friendly, and well-paced, striking that perfect balance of being available without hovering. Despite it being Christmas Eve, nothing felt rushed, and the staff genuinely seemed invested in making sure everyone had a great experience. All around, Culinary Dropout was a fantastic choice for a special night out. Great food, excellent service, and a relaxed but polished vibe made it a wonderful way to spend Christmas Eve. Highly recommended.
I celebrated my birthday here last weekend and enjoyed every minute of it. I made a reservation for a party of 8 beforehand and was immediately seated on arrival. Jeff was our server and I can honestly say he was the sweetest and most knowledgeable server I have ever had. We ordered everything he recommended from tasty drinks to fun appetizers. The food itself was excellent and we ordered a variety of foods, there is something on the menu everyone in your party will enjoy. The drinks were beautifully crafted and the vibes were immaculate. They even had live music towards the end of the evening.
Ok! So now I’ve been twice! Fell in love with the rooftop area! It was the perfect setting for an afternoon lunch with my MomNLaw. 😊 The brunch/breakfast was extremely good! Now the true test came when I wanted to book a Tuesday night surprise birthday dinner for my Hubby. It ended up being 9 of us. From the first convo with Crystal regarding the reservation things were easy. I loved getting the txt reminders leading up to our event. I had my mom check everyone in and by the time we got there everyone was in place. The food is 🔥 yall! The nachos definitely shareable! The fried chicken and biscuit 🤦🏾♀️ IS MY now my fav 😂 Oh and the prices are affordable in my opinion and our whole table. We’ll definitely be back for sure! Thank you! 😊
Casual spot for dinner with a balcony on the second floor. We went on a Friday night and there was live music, a female vocalist imwith a guitar accompanist. We ordered the prosciutto deviled eggs. They were good, but because the prosciutto was very fine it was hard to really taste. I was hoping the crispy prosciutto would've been larger. We then had the salmon with crispy brussel sprouts (skins?) on a bed of couscous I believe which was very good. We also had the Korean Ribeye Cap with onions, mushrooms, and zucchini. The waitress cautioned that it was very spicy but I thought it was fine. Very tasty and the veggies with it were great. The waitress was very nice and attentive, answering questions about the menu. Pricing seemed fair, and for the amount of food it balanced it out. Overall we enjoyed the drinks from the bar, food, service, and atmosphere, and with everything on the menu sounding good we want to come back and try more.
Service was great. We had the fried chicken and chicken cacio e pepe The fried chicken was really good. I appreciate that you can order all white or dark meat for the fried chicken, even though there was a $6 up charge for it that wasn’t mentioned. The biscuit was good and cakey. The mashed potatoes were ok. The cacio e pepe was good, but it was a bit dry and they broke the noodles. View from the upstairs bar/deck is grand and we will be back to sit up there for drinks.
This culinary dropout is one of my favorite locations across America. I came here nightly while living in Dallas for their daily BOGO sushi deal! They have a unique menu with diverse cocktail options and a STUNNING view of the Dallas skyline!! The prices are a bit higher, but definitely worth the experience. It can get a bit hot sitting outside but they have plenty of indoor seating downstairs!
We like to walk over on nice weather days for lunch as I really enjoy the freshness of their salad options, where my favorite is the Asian crunch. I’ve also enjoyed all of their short list of sushi options so this time I asked them if they could add the tuna as my protein on my favorite salad and was thankful that they did…perfect match and portion. I’m not so secretly hoping that they will make this a permanent option and offer all their sushi as protein options. The pretzel bites and Brussels are both admittedly decadent starters that are hard to resist when trying to be “good” during the lunch hour ;-) Service has always been attentive and friendly and appreciated…and one final note, was so happy that the ice tea was fresh and didn’t taste stale like so many other spots. Hope to make it back for drinks on the deck some time, and some music.
Service is incredibly awesome. The food was pretty good. I was surprised with the Pretzel cheese fondue. It was a good amount of pretzels and the cheese just go so good with it. Katsu sandwich was awesome I really like it! But the Mongolian short rib was a small portion. we were a little disappointed with that. The live music was so nice too! Overall it’s a good place for a date night.
Went for happy hour and were told our 17 year old could sit in the bar area with us. Not entirely true, but they did allow us to sit at a high top and honored the happy hour menu. Our server was great and drinks and apps were delicious. Cannot wait to return. Also, super nice security guard told us we could park at other businesses after 5 pm, even if they were marked.
We hosted our Client Appreciation Event for the second year at this location. The atmosphere and fabulous food are surpassed only by the thoughtful service team. They went out of their way to make our event a great success. Thank you to every member of your team who took care of us and our guests this evening. You went above and beyond for us, and we are very grateful.
We are here in Taxes to attend a wedding, and this is the restaurant they selected for rehearsal dinner! I loved the atmosphere soon as I walked in, the friendly usher pointed out the direction and handed you over to other employees to take us to the party area! It a buffet dinner, it was okay, but I really want to try out their full menu. So many menu items are so interesting and looks nice! The service for our party was great, very engaging, polite and efficient. I just can’t say enough good things about the service! All three people whom served us in the buffet dinner tonight are amazing! I hope we can have a chance to come back again!
My cousin brought me here while I was visiting Texas for an early dinner. The highlight of this place has to be the space itself, it is very nicely laid out. A very spacious restaurant (but I learned this is typical in Texas) that was beautifully furnished. The bar looked fabulously set. The menu options were not exactly singing to my soul but I appreciated the variety, although some more international variety outside of East Asian would have good to see. I went for the fish and chips, a British classic. The dish was expertly done, stellar batter on the fish. Portion was ok. The service was fantastic from the staff.
Really great meal at Culinary Dropout. The Chef’s have all of my compliments. Our waiter, Tristan, was super kind, however, seemed very busy and slightly unaware of my table while we’re there. As well, the atmosphere changed depending on where seated. Overall, it was an awesome time and I’ll be back!
Really loved this place, however, the deviled eggs were a bit on the salty side and our cheese for the pretzels was not hot so it kinda tasted just bland. On the other hand, hands down our favorite thing we ordered was the chicken katsu sandwich! Super juicy and tender and the bread is so crunchy delicious.
Very nice atmosphere. The food was okay. I had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were thin, almost watery. Try the brussel sprouts, delicious. The portions are generous. The drinks were expensive, ranging from $14-16. Expect to spend $30-55 per meal. The service was great with all wait staff being friendly and attentive.
Vibrant and lively atmosphere. We ordered Popcorn Shrimp, Whipped Feta & Tahini Dip and Mongolian Short Rib. Only miss was the soft-boiled egg in the Short Rib bowl, unfortunately way too salty, almost to the point of being inedible. But everything else more than made up for it. Really appreciated that staff kindly split the dish for us, knowing my husband and I were sharing. Such a thoughtful detail. Thanks to Manager Donovan who made sure our table was well taken care of, a clear sign of excellent service. Wouldn't hesitate to go back, aiming for its rooftop bar next time.
Late review. I dined here as a solo diner for a late lunch on Dec. 31st, 2025. I was in the area and was hungry. Saw the place on Google map, and I've heard of it from friends so I decided to give it a try. The usher was very friendly and sat me down at a booth right away. But I had to wait around 10 min for a server to finally come and tell me "I'll be right with you, give me a minute." He was very friendly. But I hadn't even gotten water at this point so it was a bit disappointing even though there were lots of empty tables at the time. That's why I gave 4 stars for the service. Now onto the food/drinks. I had Old Fashioned and it was great, kudos to the bartender. Then I got my steak frites. I ordered the steak medium rare. I loved that the dish came with a side of fries and arugula salad. Well balanced meal. But when I got my steak the steak was very unevenly cooked. All pieces were completely overcooked to medium and the only correctly cooked piece was the very outer piece, as you can see in the photo. Should I have ordered burgers and wings instead? What are the chances of the outer side of the steak being rarer than the middle part? Did I expect too much from this place? The fries and the salad was good though. 3 stars for food.
Me and my husband tried this restaurant, as we were intrigued by a TikTok post. We arrived and the overall visual and atmosphere was really cute. I didn’t like that we were seated by that entrance, it becomes a distraction every time the door opens, but we didn’t complain. Since staff doesn’t have an actual uniform, it’s hard to know who actually works there. We were greeted and served water. Our server was very polite. We ordered two dishes that will be picture below. I ordered the “Fried Chicken” and my husband the “Mongolian Short Rib”… His food wasn’t to his taste as it was very sweet vs spicy. We traded his meal for the “Wagyu Pigs in a Blanket”, those were extremely mid. As I was enjoying my chicken, not so much the smashed potatoes, I found a hair. The hair was human and fried into the skin of the chicken. As I looked into the kitchen, I didn’t physically see any hair nets but that just ruined the visit for me. I wouldn’t revisit but not everyone will have my experience. Please try for yourself.
Loved this restaurant when I lived in Austin but I’m not feeling the food from here.. I’ve only tried 3 things.. the fried chicken, pork belly nachos, and mac and cheese.. got nachos and Mac and cheese yesterday and it was trashhh!! Maybe it’s better if I dine-in but my food was cold and cheese had already settled, and it wasn’t much pork.. Also I wasn’t sure if they offered curbside or not, had to call twice to make sure my order was even coming out.. don’t wanna eat here again! Mad i even paid so much!
