We wanted to try a new spot in Dallas and stumbled across Dakota’s. Ronney took care of us and couldn’t have done a better job! He took us through the entire menu and made fantastic recommendations, my favorite being topping the tomahawk with the black truffle compound butter. The short haired hostess that greeted me on 11/6/25 was not kind. She was super friendly to the group of white gentleman that walked in before me. When I walked in she just stared. I said hello and she acted like she didn’t want to greet me and was very short with me. It was not the welcome I expected and started to think I shouldn’t have come but it all changed the moment I walked away from the hostess stand with a kind gentleman. From that moment to the moment I left was beautiful. Seated by the waterfall was a nice touch. My waiter Dami was so thorough. And for that I won’t take away stars for the service. I ordered the nuggets with caviar, deviled eggs, rockafella oysters, crab cakes, clam chowder, a steak, Brussels and the loaded potatoes. Eveythinggggg except the oysters were amazingggggg! I would recommend to come when you have at least 2 hours to spare. Because I ended up having to take my entree to go due to thinking i was just going to have a quick lunch lol completely my fault. The experience at Dakota is so well timed, not rushed like some other steakhouses I’ve been to and because I went in under the impression it would be like others I cheated myself so I’ll definitely be back to enjoy my entree in house next time. Sn: I should’ve never been introduced to caviar in this manner because now I will certainly be going to buy some nuggets ranch and caviar for an in home snack 😅😅

Firstly, don't worry about parking, complimentary Valet is here to save the day. Haven't used it since I live a couple blocks away and can walk. I have been here multiple times for business dinners, dates, dinner with friends and it is always a delight. Gorgeous little underground area with a busy dining room and bar, and a much quiter area with this fountain/waterfall. Good food and very courteous upscale service. Not the best steakhouse in Dallas but one of the best restaurant experiences money can buy in DFW. Hors d'oeuvres and presentation are comparable to Michelin recognized spots around the world. Apps selection is small but has all the steakhouse staples - the pork belly is my favorite and highly recommended. Salads and soups skipped this time but again staples are all there - the wedge and french onion soup are quite good and my go to. Mains were good and steak was cooked to perfection. Get their Beef Wellington if it hasn't sold out! The tiramisu cheesecake is one of our favorites - light and delicious, perfect for 2. Recommend the Crystal Cactus if you want an amazingly refreshing and crisp margarita, otherwise stick to your full bodied Cabs to pair with your steak.

10/10, will visit again when in town. Zachary C. was our server and the service was out of this world. I got the 14oz New York Strip, my mom got the 8oz Filet, and we shared sides of Asparagus, Mac and Cheese and Mashed Potatoes. Our bill was under $200! Very reasonable for the quality of service and the quality of food, felt very welcomed and the ambiance was incredible. Server always felt right on time and we never went without what we needed. Like I said, we will be back when we’re in town next. If I could recommend anything I would definitely recommend the filet, my mother got hers medium rare and it was PERFECT. I ordered my NY strip medium and wished I’d gotten it cooler! Overall, I was very impressed with this restaurant and wish I could give more than 5 stars.

The staff, including the managers, were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience from start to finish. The atmosphere at Dakota's is unbeatable, ranking in my top 10 restaurant ambiences worldwide. The elegant and inviting setting creates the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal. As for the food, it did not disappoint. I had the ribeye boneless, cooked to a perfect medium well, while my father enjoyed the filet, also cooked to perfection. Both dishes were flavorful and expertly prepared. The only reason I'm giving Dakota's Steakhouse four stars instead of five is due to the dessert, which didn't quite match the high standards set by the rest of the meal. However, this is a minor drawback in an otherwise exceptional dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend Dakota's Steakhouse. Indulge in their offerings and enjoy the impeccable service and outstanding atmosphere.

Perfect anniversary dinner at Dakota’s Steakhouse! We visited again for our wedding anniversary, and it was just as amazing as the first time. The fine dining ambiance is beautiful and made the evening feel really special. Our waiter was phenomenal so friendly, attentive, and bubbly, which made the experience even better. We started with the crab cake lollipops appetizer — absolutely delicious! My wife had the Ora King Salmon, and I had the boneless short rib, both cooked perfectly and full of flavor. For drinks, she ordered the Island Hopper and I had the Mint Condition both were excellent. Everything from the food to the service was top-notch. Dakota’s never disappoints truly one of the best dining experiences in Dallas!

Went here for a date night with my wife. The food was great, everything prepared as ordered. The atmosphere is wonderful. The only thing better than the food was the service. From the moment you walk into the restaurant they treat you very well. The hostess was very friendly and quickly showed us to our table. A huge shout out to Judge (his name, not his occupation). He was our waiter. Friendly and helpful. He made sure to check on us. The rest of the staff were also great. Our glasses were never empty. Everyone smiled and looked happy to be there. Seriously, the service was phenomenal. I'm sure all their waiters are great, but ask for Judge. Dakota's is definitely one of my favorite restaurants to have visited.

Dakota's is fantastic! From the top down, it was perfect! We were seated on time and service was phenomenal. It was a birthday dinner and they even gave us a written card on the table and complimentary dessert at the end of dinner. Our server Steven was very attentive and was at our table checking on us, every couple of minutes. Cleaning the table, refilling drinks and bringing us whatever we needed quickly. The table bread was fresh. Our Oyster Rockefeller and Deviled Egg were delicious. Our specialty cocktails were both tasty and stout at the same time. The Cesar salad was really good, a perfect refreshing portion. Our mains were great, my Cowboy Ribeye was cooked perfectly. The Filet Mignon with shrimp was fantastic. The asparagus and truffle fries were large portions and were fantastic! Dakota's is probably my new favorite Steakhouse in the area! 10/10

Steakhouse Review #5: Dakota’s. Made a reservation for 7:30 on a Saturday. Not sure how parking is because we got a ride, but it’s downtown so I’m assuming it’s not the easiest. When you arrive, there’s an elevator that takes you down to get into the underground restaurant. Fun! The look and atmosphere was just swanky enough with a classic flair that included a waterfall. It’s one of my favorite vibes we’ve had thus far…not too noisy, not too pretentious, and just the right amount of special. We were seated right away and ordered a blackberry mule. It was tart and sweet and so good. Our service was good but not spectacular, no complaints. Ordered two famous tator tots for an app and they almost made me cry they were so good! They are $5 a pop and so worth it. Our main meal was a filet, mac & cheese, cacio y pepe risotto, carrots, and mashed potatoes. The steak was the best we’ve had thus far and was tender, mildly smoky, and perfectly seasoned. Divine. Now, the sides were where we were reallllllly let down. The mac (bland with no distinct flavor) and mashers (gummy and bland) just weren’t good, the carrots were basic, and the risotto had promise and was actually fairly decent with a parmesan and black pepper accent. It was my birthday (they had a cute little birthday card on the table which was appreciated) and brought out a dessert but it was two chunks of frozen cheesecake and was not bangin. One of these places will eventually knock our socks off on all levels, but this wasn’t the one, though the steak itself was supurb. Overall, we probably wouldn’t go back but glad we got to experience it. The meal was $160 and we tipped $50 for a total if $210. Our hotel, The Joule, highly recommended this underground steakhouse, and we were eager to try it. A short eight-minute walk led us to the restaurant, which was cleverly concealed, with an elevator serving as the sole indicator of its presence. We took the elevator down two floors and stepped directly into the dining area, where we were warmly greeted by the hostess and seated promptly. The pianist's soft melodies created a sophisticated ambiance, and our server's attentiveness was noteworthy. The espresso martini mocktail was a highlight, and my wedge salad and lobster thermidor were both well-prepared. The steak special, an 8 oz. filet mignon with asparagus, received a lukewarm response from my partner. With a total cost of $275, the meal was undoubtedly pricey; however, the atmosphere and service justified the expense. For those seeking a distinctive dining experience, this restaurant is certainly worth visiting.

Visiting Dallas, someone told me about an underground Restaurant that was a must-see. It is an upscale traditional steakhouse. When you take the elevator down from street level, it puts you right in front of the restaurant. The front has a barrel in which they used to age their house bourbon. A brief description is available, allowing you to read about the history of the barrel. I sat at the bar, and the service was great. The bartender was very friendly and asked all the right questions. She had some recommendations. I tried them all. I posted pictures of everything I tried. The food was not bad; the lamb chop came out a little undercooked. It was fixed without any hassle. The truffle fries did not stay hot. I also had to wait for the lamb to be up cooked so that didn’t help. If you like truffles, ask for extra. It has a hint of truffle. I could smell it, not really taste it. I’m not big on seasoning, but this barely had any at all. The chicken nuggets are overrated. Don’t waste your time. I have had tastier Dino nuggets. Tater Tots had good flavor. Cut it in half so you don’t have a mouthful and can really savor the flavor. The devil egg was good; if I weren't trying a bunch of stuff, I would have gotten a second. The salad was my top pick. The 5-star dressing and plating could have looked nicer, but the flavor was there. ( the picture was a half a size) For my second drink, I got the regular old-fashioned, and it was just the same as the special edition. Tried both to see. If you want to experience it, try it. Not saying it was bad, just wasn’t better. Lastly was the dessert. Big enough for two. The crème brûlée was excellent. I will say top 10 in my travels. The roasted peaches and the honeycomb crisp were perfectly paired. When you order this, scoop the peaches and the custard, place them in your mouth, and then bite into the honeycomb crisp. You will taste everything from the front of your mouth to the back of your throat. For a date night for 2-4, I would say, 'try it.' Overall, a good spot, but not one I would visit more than once. It didn’t have a draw me back feel. Bill $213 with tip.
