Great neighborhood type gay bar in Dallas. Employees are friendly and the clientele is mostly middle aged men.
This bar has a nice and relaxed feel to it. Very friendly staff. Great place to talk with friends over a few drinks.
Definitely must go! Bartenders are awesome. Drinks are great!
Love it when Julio makes my drinks. Hell give you your money's worth, love playing pool and the music and atmosphere are great.
Nice, laid back dive bar...busiest days are Friday through Sunday of course, but a great place to go for happy hour cocktails with friends!!!!!

Only rating good for the service. The patrons can be very disrespectful most of the time. But the service and prices are amazing!
Good crowd they have pool tables music box and a patio. Over all good place. OH! And drinks are good too. 😃
This is a great place. Cheap drink and fun atmosphere. It’s nice to get a break from the superficial crowd.
Great bartenders. Great atmosphere. If you like cheap, strong drinks, this is your place.
Always a chilled time at the Hidden Door.
This places is amazing, you have to come when you stay at dallas. They have the correct envarioment that the gay night life needs. Come and enjoy your essence.
I love coming to this place it has a juke box, two tables, Large patio, and cheap drinks, opens early in the morning, so the party can continue
This has always been one of my favorite bars. The bears and beers are great 👍🏽
A very nice place to go hang out with friends and to meet some very friendly people, and it has some of best bartenders and bar backs in Dallas,
Friendly bartenders, strong but cheap drinks, amazing customers. A great time! My favorite gay bar
Nice place with good sense of community
Nice comfortable place to get a drink. Inexpensive drinks, friendly people, great place to relax
Hidden door is great. Love going here with friends to get a drink and catch up. The people are welcoming and the atmosphere is so fun and lively. It’s also just an easy place to have fun and let loose. I recommend this place to anyone
Fun bar to go to. Great bartenders and ambiance.
If you are looking for a great place to just chill and get a great drink this is the place. Sunday funday is always packed.
Last TBRU was my first time there, I loved the place and the environment, amazing patio, the only thing I did not like is that they take cash only, but they had an atm so wasn’t a big deal. Highlight recommended.
Calvin and Bryan are awesome bartenders. Made us feel welcome right away. Drinks were excellent. Ambiance was friendly. Loved it.
Always a great time here.
Cute bar, nice bartenders, great outside bar, nice people
Friendly bartenders, strong but cheap drinks, amazing customers. A great time! My favorite gay bar
Best "Cheers" bar in Dallas. Considered a gay bar but has a very wide range of patronage.
Very friendly and open to all. Bart renders are very nice and helpful if you are unsure of what you want. Definitely worth a stop to check out.
This is the best bar staff in Dallas. They are so friendly and you always have an amazing time!!! Wish I could give them 10 stars . ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great place , sometimes has food trucks but the Rico’s cheese popcorn 🙌🏼🙌🏼 great place to hang with friends
Coming from a straight woman in my early 20s I've had nothing but great experiences! Everyone is very friendly, especially the staff! Cheap, strong drinks as well!
Me and my hubby have been going since our early 20s, cold cheap beers and fun loving staff...hidden gem in dallas LGBTQ community.
What a brilliant place. Very friendly folk. Clean, well thought out pub with pool tables a great professional friendly place to unwind and meet your mates. Good drinks, casual attire, and some right good times. Go here once and you'll want to return. It's one of the best gaybars in town.
By far my favorite bar in Dallas. I’ve never been much of a bar/scene person as I usually tend to frequent bar/grills as they’re more relaxed, better vibe and less drunks/drama, plus they have food. However Hidden Door has come to be my favorite thanks to the cheap drinks (cash only), great staff, nice outdoor area, and let’s not forget the best part - the crowd! HD hosts many themed events but is fun even without the events or at events that aren’t your interest. Even without offering food I like this place a lot. And usually has plenty of parking options
It's a nice spot to go out for drinks with friends. They support the LGBTQI+ community too so I'll be back again when I'm in Dallas my next visit.
Smaller indoor area, pool tables available. 2 large patio areas non profit bar supporting several charity groups
Best vibes in all of Dallas. Cannot recommend this place more. Great music and the people are great as well. Bartenders are the absolute sweetest.
It's a great local watering hole with quite a few regulars because of the drink prices! I've been going since they opened. The staff is extremely friendly and they don't tolerate any drama or drugs! The bar and pool tables are always well maintained.
The best bar in Dallas hands down. Love this place and everyone in it. Don’t forget to bring cash!
Everyone is welcome! Definitely a community gay bar. Great drinks at reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Always a favorite location.
I used to visit more often when I could walk. I only visit maybe once every 2 to 3 months. It's still The Friendliest Bar in Town.
LOVE THIS BAR!!! HAVE BEEN A REGULAR FOR 32 YEARS AND IMSTILL ENJOY IT!!! LOVE THEM ALL!!
More bartenders would be beneficial as the lines for drinks tend to be quite long. However, the quality of the drinks is satisfying and the bartenders are extremely friendly. Despite ample space, it can still get crowded at times. The patio effectively utilizes mist fans to keep patrons cool on hot days. While finding parking may be a slight challenge, it is not a significant issue.
Didn't have the food but the atmosphere is great! If you want to meet like-minded gay bear individuals or have a space of such, this is it
Best bear bar in Dallas. The margaritas are always 4 bucks and dollar Jell-O shots. The Atmosphere is very casual, and they have a spacious double deck in the back.
If you know, you know. If you don't know, go here and you will. Best in Dallas bar none. LGBTQIA+ welcome. No cliques. Safe space for everyone, no matter who you are, you are welcome here.
Great place to just unwind; enjoy a beverage & patio is quite spacious!
I’m sitting here reading some of these reviews and I think that some of these reviews people, you should be embarrassed and ashamed to write such crap about one of the friendliest bars in Dallas Fort Worth .What this bar does for the community alone is well Worth a five stars they take care of the community and they give back. They take care of their employees and they also take care of the neighborhood. This is a fun loving bar . (Where else are you gonna get puff popcorn and hot crackers ) Yes, You might get a bartender that might be rude one day and the next Day is most incredible person there is it happens. People have bad days, especially when there’s A lineof people wanting to get a drink they are only doing the best that they can when they’re that many people. I read these reviews that these people leave and it’s sad that people can be this mean for no reason. This is a good place and I’m glad to call it my home Bar . The people that work there are incredible . They all deserve A thank youfor putting up with some of the crap they have to put up with from people that write reviews like that. Thank you, Hidden Door. You’re a great bar!!
Did not come to eat, but rather drink. The drinks were amazing!
Best bar for bears and/or laid back people. Accepting everybody and best atmosphere ever. Not to mention the best price for drinks EVER (cash only) they have an ATM 🏧 machine
This is my go to bar. Drinks are strong and conversation is fun.
I’ve been coming to The Hidden Door sporadically over the last couple of years. It’s about time I give a review. I decided to drive down to Woody’s Sports Bar on Cedar Springs to watch the Texans game since playoff implications and divisional titles are on the line, and they bill themselves as a sports bar. Go to Google to see my review of my experience today at Woody’s written just before this one. Disappointed in my poor experience at Woody’s, I went to Hidden Door. Walking throughout the bar, I noticed all their TVs were also showing the Cowboys game. BUT, here’s the difference. First, the one bartender who wasn’t busy saw me walk up to the bar and was ready to take my order. I was greeted with a welcoming smile as if to say we’re glad you’re here. I asked the bartender if they only show the same game on all the TVs. Speaking honestly he said, “What other games are there. I really don’t know.” I told him I was interested in watching the Texans game. Without hesitation, he told another bartender of my request. That bartender simply switched the channel on the outside TV to show the Texans game. There are 5x as many patrons at Hidden Door on the patio where the outside TV is than at Woody’s at the writing of this review. Not a single person protested when the game switched to the Texans. Thank you HD for treating me like a patron rather than something taking up space in your bar. Thank you for helping me have a positive experience at your bar. Thank you for your welcoming spirit. And by the way, if you want a good hangout bar that also happens to show various sports programming as an added perk, AND truly has the best drinks in town, get yourself to Hidden Door. You won’t be disappointed.
Best Bar in Dallas. Great crowd, great drink prices and the best atmosphere of any gay bar in Dallas. The Hidden Door will be becoming my neighborhood bar when I get moved to Dallas.
I’m a 30 year old black guy. 5’11 330 pounds.one of the best bars I’ve ever visited. Dallas Doenst owe me anything. Friendly people and drinks are strong and exactly what you want to get in the mood. Dnt mention the prices. Extremely affordable. Definitely a 5 star bear/chub bar. But open to all.
Hands down, the best LGBTQ+ bar in DFW. Staff is always friendly and the patio is unmatched. The best thing is that this is a "non profit" bar which donates a significant amount of money to local charities. Not to mention the 47 years of history that this place holds in our community.

Friendly door staff, great space, my only issue with this bar is the overlong queues at bar...seems a little disorganised. Other than that a great venue
Favorite place to go but as everyone says bathrooms are small and would not be lady friendly. Only one toilet and its not Inclosed lots of urinals.
Good bar and great people. Stopped by for a drink and was surprised by how friendly the staff was. It makes all the sense in the works, you don’t need to be GAY to have a good time here. Just go and be treated like you.....
Best bar in Dallas for cheap and strong drinks. Staff and customers are always nice. Cleanliness is a issue at times. 4 stars.
I wish I had gotten the bartenders name, he was friendly, fast and just plain nice. I was invited to a fundraising event. The patio is a nice area to hang out as well.
I bartended at the hidden door over 20 years ago and remember it fondly. I knew Jim Roberts, the founder and Tony who inherited it 🙏 And in it's wilder days , it was fun, Fun, FUN!!! I HAVE MANY HAPPY MEMORIES 😊
They could use more bartenders. The lines for a drink are pretty long. But drinks are good and bartenders are very friendly. Lots of space but it can still get crowded. The patio uses mist fans on hot days. Parking can be a challenge but not a major problem.
Talk about hole in wall bar! It's hands down one of my favorite gay bars in town because everyone is down to earth and even makes a girl like myself feel welcome and safe. Drinks are moderately priced but soooo good. My favorite being the "G spot". The back patio area was nicely extended and accommodates more folks. Bathrooms are a little questionable but since the main clientele here is men, I don't have much room to complain 😅 It's got a fun vibe with great music and the bartenders are PHENOMENAL!!! These guys really make it a blast.
Really nice place , great atmosphere... Was lacking table service. I had to go the bar for additional drinks.
Not my first pick when we are in the mood to go out.. aside from my friends that go there... I just don't like the place.. inconvenient to pay cash..
Unless you are already part of a click that attends this bar, it is just like any other gay bar in Dallas. You try to mingle and meet people, yet they don't care unless you are known by someone within the click. At least the bartenders are nice though. If you can get in early and get seat with the bartenders then you'd at least have someone to talk to every now and then.
I come here because it is where my friends go and it's a good time. They have to do something about the ability to get a drink. When busy yoy wait in line about 30 mins. The bartenders are doing their best, its just volume at peak times. Adding a bar outside for just beer and water would really help.
Cheap cheap cheap drinks. That's the highlight of this place. It has a funny smell, but most whole in the wall bars do. Staff was friendly, wouldn't mind going back for another round. The music that played during my quick visit was current radio hits which was another plus. Thumbs up in my book!!!
I love this bar, it feels like home. However, past few times I've been since the reopening, it's been good but the area they opened in the back with the port a potties is kind of gross.. Ive seen many guys go into the port a potties and soon after another guy follows. How gross can you guys be? Really? Wait until its time to leave or go home and come back. Also how childish is to rock a port a potty back and fourth while someone is in it?
It's a good place to meet up and have a drink. The staff is friendly for the most part. The drinks are ok as far as strength but expensive, even for happy hour. The place smells on the inside but has a great outside patio area. It's a good place for one drink.
Great gay bear bar off of the beaten path. $0.75 beers, and typically a strong pour.for other drinks. Great patio with misters when the weather is nice. An anything goes bar that is extremely comfortable and casual.
avg gay dive bar, nice bartenders but too many rude drunks. a lot of guys want to grope you and are very disrespecful. used to be all men, unfortunately women come in when they should go elsewhere.
So I was reluctant to give this place a chance due to the reviews and unfortunately I have to agree with some of the negative comments. I will start out with the positives. The place is very well kept and clean. The outside is nicely set up with TV's and a mister as well as shaded areas to enjoy. The prices are more than reasonable. However as previously patrons have said the service is desperately needing help. I watched the server help several customers before me when it was clear I was there first as it wasn't even crowded. The server also knew some of their names. This is not hospitable or a way to attract new people or you are solely focused on your click or regulars ahead of others. I have seen people comment servers can have an off day which is true but there is a pattern here as the reviews attest to. Also, I am in the service industry and you have ONE chance just as in life to make a first impression and that first impression is even more important in today's times especially with the service industry. I highly encourage better training and to be more attentive and welcoming to ALL guests to encourage more to visit.

There wasn't any Mexican midget frisbee throwing Asian speaking mud rasslin' chewing tobacco spitting Oakland Raiders fans and that made me sad but the cheese fries were decent
The hidden door was my go to when I wanted to step out due to cedar springs not being my crowd. But I think I’ve got to revert to going back to straight bars. After being threatened by security last for talking in the parking lot with him drawing his taser and then his firearm on me and friends. I refuse to spend my hard earned at a place where I could end up on the next t-shirt! Definitely felt racially profiled! Never thought I’d feel that from the Door. All you have to do is show me I’m not welcomed once…
I came in with my girlfriend and got nasty looks as soon as we walked in. They cater to white gay men. The only good thing is that they over pour.
I would have given them a 5 star rating UNTIL tonight. After the biased and bigoted way I was treated based on my skin color, never again. It was disgusting.
Lame they don’t let folks have a sling bag Get with it
Calvin is rude and tasteless. Someone broke into my car and I asked for footage. I didn't bother them and keep calling I gave them time. When I called to check on it I was nice and asked to speak with a manager and he said that it wasn't respectful to ask for a manager when everyone is a manger. How would I know? Calvin also said I was wasting his time by asking for a manager and kept cutting me off when I was talking. I went ahead and filed a police report because he said good luck with my footage 🥹 it's sad cos he told me this has been happening all week to the employees and they haven't done anything. Goodluck with your business Calvin.
I'm tired of standing in line for a drink, and someone comes up beside you and gets service. Used to be the friendliest bar in Dallas, but no more... Another issue with certain bartenders is they aren't friendly.. Mo in particular and some of the other new ones as well.
This used to be our favorite bar to meet friends ans have a drink but today 10/08/2024 everything changed. It was my friend’s birthday and after dinner we stopped at this place for a Margarita. We always order margaritas with chamoy and tajin in different flavors but the bartender working today was not happy about our requests. When we ordering our second round the white bartender (medium build, probably in his 50s) accused one of my friends of looking intoxicated and said he couldn’t serve us any more drinks. My friend was NOT intoxicated with drugs or alcohol. We’ve been there with way more drinks on a weekend and no problem. As I was explaining his answer to my friends he blatantly accused me of calling him racist when I’ve never said such a thing! I can’t be racist with a man who makes 1/4 of my salary bartending! This bartender yelled that we had to leave or we could not step a foot in the place again. How rude! I said you’re wrong! We never called you racist and we acknowledge your answer fine. But he threatening us of not being able to step in this place because we called him racist is out of proportions! He has a problem with customers ordering hispanic drinks with chamoy and tahini and should not be working there. Owners of Hidden Door he needs to be reassigned or fired as he totally does not align with your vibe of being inclusive, tolerant, accepting and accommodating for everyone! I felt intimidated and disrespected as we were following rules at all times, him throwing the racist card and acting defensive was out of place. He didn’t even understood what I was saying and promptly accused us of racism and threatened us. Owners should write this guy up or fire him as such type of bartenders are not aligned to principles of respect and tolerance our community is striving to reach in the society.
Got kicked out for saying I was drunk told him when I wasn't that drunk. So was told to have a good day. Was told that the police the cops would be called to take me out. I am in my right mind and not too drunk. I feel disrespected. Will never be at this bar again. I understand that for safety bartenders are supposed to kick out customers are supposed to make sure that they aren't too drunk to buy and be possibly kicked out, but I am not that drunk. I am sober enough to know where I am at the time and the date also the place I am at the place Im at, I was not too drunk to understand the psych eval that was not performed by the bartender that has enough training to understand how drunk. I went in to get the bartenders name but went the bartender went out to get the security guard who by the name is Officer Brooks., The bartender failed to care to give his name for unknown reason. For this reason, I feel that this business cares less about their customers and more about who serves their drinks. Regardless of their own safety they can give at least a first name. This speaks on their customer service ethics. I do not appreciate being treated like not a person when I can self-evaluate myself and was not being evacuated by the bartender. Therefore, being treated as an animal that needs to be put outside.
Unless you are already part of a click that attends this bar, The bartender does not Care about you !!!! We went to have a few drinks last night to celebrate a friends birthday and when we get there the entire Bar has the Debate on ! So we put on some songs and some Men came up to me and was mad because we put music on ! He said the entire bar was watching it so I told him this is a bar you come to drink & hear music if he wanted to watch TV he should have stay HOME with his old self !!!! He then got angry & started causing bad language so when I went to get the security guard for help the Bartender told him to kick me out !! When he saw the men come up to me and started offending me but because he was a Regular customer he kicked me out !!! Will never be back here again is a BAR NOT a NURSING HOME !!!
BLACK, BROWN, AND LATINO MEN BEWARE!!!!! A friend and I came to the Hidden Door establishment on Sunday 10/15/2023. We decided to check this bar out after a friend had told us about it. Upon our arrival we were greeted by a skinny white man who looked to be high off something and he was sitting in a chair, and black heavy set female security guard with uneven dreads and dark glasses, and piercings on her face. The female security guard opened the door for us as we walked in. My friend went to the ATM machine to get money and I went to the bathroom. Once I was done using the bathroom, both my friend and I went to the bar to get a drink. We stood in line, got our drinks, and carried on to this large patio area. We had found a small area and decided to stand there. Within 5 minutes of standing there the black female security guard who opened the door then approaches us and says that the Skinny white man at the door sent her to us to see if we were smoking weed, she then says that the white people who own and run this establishment do not like guys like us who smoke or bring weed in, she then says I know you don’t have any weed or anything like that, but he thinks y’all do because of the way you smelled when you walked into the bar. She then says if you light anything up in here, you got to go. The security guard saw our faces, because my friend being a Black man 6’1 and an executive director of a nursing facility, and me being Puerto Rican who works for a major Real Estate Firm were shocked that we were being faced with such disrespect. We honestly thought the security was joking, or maybe herself intoxicated due to her slurred words and random accusation. Now the white man was the one who felt this way, but he sent the female guard thinking because she was black we would not take offense, nor would they be in trouble with any kind of race altercation. You could tell she wanted a reaction from us, but we are both professional and classy men we let her carry on and embarrass herself as she spoke, and then walked away. My friend and I did not say a peep which I am proud of my brother for that, and what’s good its all on film. After she walked away these were my thoughts: A) We were being accused of something that no one witnessed, and why did they not stop us at the door, why wait for us to get drinks and head outside where we stood in the midst of lots of people who I am sure would not appreciate weed smoke in their face, nor in front of two DJs and other employees. We would have been kicked out before we even got to our corner if we were smoking weed. B) Were also being confronted and threatened to be removed for behavior we did not display nor act out C) The security guard and door man created a narrative based off a scent, no real concreate proof. Mind you this is a bar where you smell tobacco, poppers, alcohol, weed, and other weird smells. Also, people were coming in and out like the train station, and so why wait all that time till we get a drink and settle down to then confront us. Why not stop us at the door, if that was your impression or thought. D) Also, make sense why she is security guard and not a real cop. As a security guard you’re supposed to observe then act. This lady acted, with no observation. Get you a real security team, I know times is hard and money is tight but low budget security companies could cost you a lawsuit or a hate crime suit. E) Also, with her being a black woman she should know better than to approach two men on something that is pure speculation. Even if a white man tells you to do something you should still understand the code of ethics and morals, which I think this bar lacks training on ethics and morals. F) Lastly, we were judged based off our street clothing and race that we were smoking weed or were involved with some kind of drug. We did get this on film, but do not want to release due to ensuring our LGBTQ places are protected and not taken from us, but the owner needs to do a serious ethics and moral training, and re-think security protocol.
Several times now I’ve played music on their jukebox only to have someone turn it off or skip to the next song. I don’t think a paying customer should be treated this way 😖
Why is it GLBT and not LGBT ? The L comes first in honor of the lesbians who took care of us when we were dying of aids and even doctors wouldn’t touch us. Shameful.
WOW. 1 PM WALKED INTO THIS BAR. FIRST BAR IVE BEEN INTO TODAY. IM NOT A REGULAR DONT HAVE SOMEONE TO TALK TO. BUT THEY SAID THEY DONT THINK IM SOBER OR ABLE TO BE SERVED MORE? SOME COMMUNITY. I LITERALLY DONT DO ANYTHING. JUST APPALLED. NOT TO MENTION I WAITED AND DIDNT EVEN GET SERVED OR A HELLO WHAT CAN I HELP YOU WITH. I WILL NEVER BE GOING BACK TO THIS BAR AGAIN IN MY LIFE HOLY
This place is really weird to deny a group of 4 guys and two girls just because us girls had purses and took an uber so we couldn’t “go put our purses in the car” says the door loser. door loser got sassy with me when I asked if they were serious and it just felt sexist and weird. This bar definitely gives weird vibes, don’t waste your time
So I normally don’t say anything however I’ve been going to the hidden door for a long time and never had an issue until yesterday. Myself along with 4-7 other guys was playing pool and enjoying ourselves until the manager on duty sent Daniel to only come and ask me to lower my voice while playing pool when all the guys and music was playing around and having fun. The guy Daniel came to me and said your voice is scaring other guest and we don’t need a fight to break out because of you. Once this was said I went to the manager on duty to explain to him how that looked not only to me however to other guys around me that even walked up to me and said “well that guy was rude and disrespectful to you” then the other guy went to approach the manager as well because at the end of the day we were all having fun and everyone in the pool area was loud and enjoying themselves not just me. I felt very targeted and pointed out which is not good to me at all. The hidden door has always been an establishment that I along with other friends can come enjoy ourselves. When the second guy approached the manager he said he singled him out and nobody in that area had a issue because it’s pool music and fun meanwhile the manager rolled his eyes and kept serving other guest. After everything was said Daniel came up to the manager on duty and had a conversation about it however nothing was solved or rectified at all which is not good at all. So i decided to leave along with the 7 other people that i invited to come with me and the other guys who were shooting pool because it was just unnecessary. I really do hope in the future that this can be handled differently because at the end of the day the bar is a great place to come to, chill, vibe and listen to music any day of the week.
DO NOT GO ON A WEEKEND THAT MOE IS WORKING. ONE OF THE MOST UNFRIENDLY BARTENDERS EVER. IF YOU ARE A REGULAR AND WHITE (a man) THEN YOU ARE GOLDEN. NEVER AGAIN
I was very disappointed with my experience here. The venue itself is run down and cheap, and the policies seem inconsistently enforced. Most concerning was the “bag policy”. Women were denied entry for carrying small purses, while men with small crossbody or “man bags” were allowed in without issue. The inconsistency is unfair and discriminatory. The door staff was also rude and dismissive, which made the experience even worse. Many women carry small purses for essential personal items, and a reasonable, clearly enforced policy should apply equally to everyone. This venue is not comparable to large stadiums with strict, published security standards, yet it tries to enforce similar restrictions without professionalism or consistency. It’s giving sexist. Overall, I did not feel welcomed or respected, and I will not be returning. I’d suggest steering clear of this back street wood shed of a place.
Unfortunately my coworkers and I were harassed and violently yelled at and threatened to get beat by a racist white man who kept yelling to then go complain to his friend the manager for trying to figure out a parking situation to offer testing services for an event that was being held here. We did not receive an apology from the venue or the manager much less any action was taken to properly take into consideration the threat to Latino and Black bodies on their premises.
I don’t know how the food is could be good. Don’t know how the atmosphere is we didn’t make it past the car. The security is wild crazy and it seems very racist. We were not even parked on their property and a security guy ran to the car because he seen the trunk up. We were changing because we just performed trying to support a pageant and yes we took a sip of beer but it was not even on their property but why are you in our car. You are in my car not on your property what does it matter what I do in my car. We were told oh y’all didn’t do anything wrong but we will lose our liquor license if they find out yall drinking in the car and I already seen you. Sir we not on yall property. You bored and walking around. This was our first and last time going. What I do in my car is my business. On top of that there is a truck full of white folks parked right by the door turning up and no words was said. Yes we sat and watched. Summary what I do in my own property off your property has nothing to do with it. And if there is such a rule it should apply to everyone. Despite of color. Sorry won’t be back and will not recommend. Thanks but no thanks.
Google review : Came here last Sunday for some drinks with friends — big mistake. I stepped out through the patio for a minute because my friend couldn’t find parking, and when we came back, we went through the side door since it was wide open and literally right next to our group. Didn’t even notice any “Do Not Enter” sign because someone was standing there on their phone with the door open. Thirty seconds later, here comes this mini security guard with a superhero complex, charging at us like we were breaking into the Pentagon. His attitude? Straight-up rude and unnecessary. He actually said we were “sneaking around.” Sneaking?? Into a bar?? Where no one’s even checking IDs or charging a cover? Please. Instead of just saying, “Hey ladies, next time use the front door,” this guy chose to be rude and disrespectful. Maybe they train their security to act tough because they’re clearly not trained in basic manners. The whole thing screamed power trip — with a nice touch of racism on the side. So yeah, if you enjoy getting lectured by an angry hall monitor in a security shirt, this is your spot. Otherwise, there are way better places in Dallas where the staff actually knows how to treat paying customers with respect.
Everything about The Hidden Door is awesome except the non smiling RBF Moe. If he paid attention to his job instead of how other people interact with other staff he'd probably be a happier person. If he doesn't want to open a tab he runs your card every time and authorizes it for 50 every single time. No matter how friendly you greet him or whatever he is still the same stale stank attitude. I'd rather go when Brian is there during the week. At least he acknowledges a weekly customer!
Just tried to go with my husband and our niece. I’m in town for my father’s funeral, and we went out to have a little fun after a difficult day. The doorman refused entry to my niece claiming she was intoxicated. Clearly a pretext, and the treatment of my guest was mortifying. Never again would I go to this place.
