This place is wonderful. Great ambience, delicious food and drinks. I was there yesterday as a walk in and both hostess were absolutely lovely. The restaurant was full and they quickly found us a seat at the bar. Staff was great. I highly recommend when in Del Mar you come eat here.
More than amazing...overall OUTSTANDING! My party of 6, who came from playing at the Dog Beach, were treated with warmth and respect by the service team and owner, Alan. It was fun to learn from Alan and his team about their creative appetizers, drinks, and food! Highly recommend a phenomenal meal and relax with a drink as you are served by an attentive team.
Great service and food! The tortillas and subsequently the chips are made in house and are delicious. The guacamole was definitely a highlight, they give a very generous portion for the price. We got fish tacos, asada and birria. The birria is a bit unorthodox for a birria taco, with cheddar cheese, but it was still good. I would not say the Esquires (corn) or side of beans was worth the price, but everything was very high quality. You can tell they care about their ingredients.
Been here several times and it's a real gem. The service is excellent and everyone seems to be enjoying their work. The vibe is great and the open air dining area is comfortable and you're actually able to carry on a conversation without a noisy background, unlike many other restaurants these days. The free parking in their adjacent garage makes it so convenient, and it's dog friendly as well. But most importantly the food is better than ever . Everything is so good, especially the shrimp tacos, guacamole, chicken tacos, etc. There's a large menu with wide variety of Mexican dishes plus non-traditional ones as well. This has become our favorite restaurant in the Del Mar area.
Wow! I have tried Huevos Rancheros many times, but these were very unique. Super flavorful, loved both the green and red sauces, the perfect balance. I’ve been searching San Diego for my favorite huevos rancheros and these may be it. Note, brunch ends at 1pm Chips and salsa were delicious too. The space is beautiful. Fun to watch people go by on the street. Server was fun and friendly.
LOVE this Mexican restaurant in Del Mar!! Tacos are amazing but so is the white fish ceviche, bone marrow and all the salsas with the guac. Everything is beautifully presented and service is super friendly. Also they have lots of gluten free and dairy free options! All the desserts are gluten free (churros are amazing) Nice outdoor seating. Cute trendy vibes. Brought my 1 year old baby with some friends and they brought out a hair chair before we even sat down!
A Vibrant Dining Experience! Went to Salt + Lime and loved it! The place has such a fun, colorful vibe with flowers, cactus, and these cool pink lights inside. It feels lively but still comfortable. The food was fresh and flavorful — you can tell they use good ingredients. Food was amazing, I didn’t even want to share. The cocktails are a must-try, especially anything with their fresh lime (seriously, so refreshing). Service was great too — friendly without being overbearing. You can tell the staff actually enjoys working here. Definitely coming back, and next time I’m bringing friends so we can try more of the menu.
Love the food and service here. Great tacos. You can pick three different kinds. The best flan ! Service is friendly and helpful. Wonderful spot. Margaritas are top notch. Dog friendly ! What else can you ask for.
The music was lively and vibrant; location amazing; and the staff were all very friendly. Omar was my server and he was lovely. I would recommend Salt+Lime for delicious Mexican food and drinks.
everything was super fresh, high quality and delicious! some of the best adobada north of the border. tuna tostada was genius, reminded me of spicy tuna. better than most poke i’ve had. asked for carne asada fries and the french fries were perfectly fried and seasoned with cajun spice. highly recommend. check out their instagram for their schedule!
Excellent tacos on fresh tortillas with delicious pineapple salsa on both the grilled fish and chicken tacos. The chips were cooked & seasoned just right and served with two types of salsa. Staff was friendly and we could see the ocean across the street from our table. Parking was easy at 3:30pm on a Monday in small retail lots next door.
Amazing experience overall. CONGRATS on the location and first restaurant in addition to the food truck! Loved everything we got. The guacamole didn’t feel thick enough, we like it a little more chunky! Top three: Baja fish taco, taco mi-rey, CHIPS. Baja fish - tasted fresh and light compared to all the heavy flavors of everything else. Had a light sweet hint to it. Taco mi-rey - explosive flavors and I don’t even know what it was but it was magical and needed. CHIPS - you’ll get them for free but I love how they’re restaurant style and THICK! It’s rare to find these chips and have them warm at the table. Bravo! Service received a little less stars because we were left thirsty for a few times, but server was great otherwise. I think the dinner slam was quick to come!
Amazing! A new go to for sure, I want to eat my way thru the entire menu! The classic margaritas were tasty (and a great happy hour menu). We started with the ceviche and it was hands down one of the best I’ve had. A meal in itself. Fresh and a huge portion. Second the quesabirria - omg. One was filling, and so good I got 2 to go for tomorrow. We finished with their house made churros, come with a caramel and a chocolate sauce, but the churros were flavorful enough I didn’t need them. To add to the experience the service was impeccable - Rudy was super friendly and attentive! The ambiance is relaxed, we were lucky to catch a gorgeous Del Mar sunset too Ample parking. (Seen many places come and go in this location and hope Salt & Lime stays around for a while).
This was a fantastic place. I am a vegetarian diner and I had multiple options to choose from. I highly recommend the fondido - it's served with warm tortillas. The asparagus tacos were a hit as were the potato taquitos. For cocktails, I highly recommend the mango chile margarita. I also had the la Rosa margarita, and even though it was good, the mango chile was better. The ambience was nice and the location was prime. They do offer some garage parking which was nice. We did an early dinner at 3:30 and parking was ample on the street as well.
As we watched the sun set, we enjoyed multiple shared utterly delicious bites. Everything was VERY fresh. Creative dishes. Vegan options abound. The flavors were perfectly balanced and very dish was beautifully presented. The atmosphere is lively yet easy to relax and enjoy conversation. This is not your typical Mexican fare. It surprises and delights. Don’t miss the experience when in Del Mar
If you’re in the Del Mar area this is a must. Great food, amazing service. Handmade tortillas, everything so fresh. Made it here for happy hour that has delicious items to choose from. Most of all I appreciated how dog friendly they are. I will definitely be back and as a San Diego native I will be bringing all my friends. My new favorite spot! ❤️
Absolutely delusion little restaurant I ate with my family and baby. Their chips and guacamole come w sides of salsa was delicious. I ate the shrimp taco and 2 crab tostadas was just enough for a lunch meal. The flavors in these dishes were savory with just the right amount of spice (not hot). If you’re seeking intimate meal conversations you’ll have a hard time hearing cuz of the street traffic noise sometime but if you wanna indulge in the setting and pleasure of your food this is the place. Thank you Salt and Lime staff! Definitely on our top Del Mar eats!
This was a tasty stop after the beach ⛱️ I enjoyed the vegetarian asparagus taco and queso fundido. The patio is dog friendly which is a plus. Located great for people watching. Thanks for the Festive atmosphere!
Want a taste of relaxing but luxurious view?! This is the right place. My husband and I really enjoyed the view and the atmosphere. The waitress was very nice and my tostada was amazing! I’m so happy we decided to make the drive there. Definitely looking forward to our next visit.
Visiting from the East Coast, my dad and I had an amazing experience at Salt & Lime in Del Mar. The food was incredible, but what really made our night was the hospitality—especially from our server, Rudy. He went above and beyond with great suggestions, a warm attitude, and even surprised us with free churros. The whole place has such a welcoming vibe, and you can tell they genuinely care about their guests. Highly recommend—wish we had a spot like this back home!
Might be one of THE BEST shrimp tacos I've ever had and I order them whenever I can, all over the world.
PHENOMENAL! The food was absolutely delicious. We got the queso fundido and sweet and sour popcorn shrimp appetizers, and then some tacos for main meal. I had the quesabirria taco and it was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten, it was sooooo good. The restaurant is trendy, love the decor and the atmosphere, seating lets you enjoy the great weather and views. Plus all of the staff and the owner were super nice and appreciative! 10/10 would recommend and I wish we weren’t flying back to NY cause I would eat here all the time!
The open air seating, the food, and the service were a delight. We were quickly seated, and brought water with chips and salsa. (The green Salsa had good heat with a nice acidic tang) The fish taco was fire, but the esquites stole the show. Absolutely order a side of corn.
Absolutely 5 star worthy. The guacamole came with a drizzle of chili oil and seasoned homemade chips. The salsa Verde, roja, and habanero was super. The Spanish rice was super with a little corn. The black beans done home style no lard. Lots of vegetarian options too. The tacos are substantial with a serving of 1 or 2. We got chicken asado and asparagus tacos, all delicious. Tortillas are hand made fresh and yummy. The flan was to die for. Enough to share. Overall great food nice atmosphere and superior service.
Delicious guacamole, love the drizzle of hot oil. The chips are crispy and salty perfection. We went with a larger party of 10 and the food service was well managed and timed. I had a delicious salad and a side of rice and beans. Everybody loved their tacos! This is a great outdoor location in Del Mar with glass up for wind protection.

The food was hot, delicious and absolutely beautifully seasoned. The staff were kind, helpful, and the service was phenomenal. Would highly recommend checking this place out!

I’ve been putting off coming to this place for way too long. I have my spots for mexican food and rarely give new places a shot. This place is now #1 on my list. I’ve never been to a restaurant where every drink ordered comes out in 3 minutes (The specialty cocktails were amazing, by the way). And of course, the best part, every single thing we ordered was incredible. this spot is definitely going to be a regular place on our list!
We came one time, and then place was sold out. So the owner told us to come back another day, and he would comp our meal. We came back, and he was good on his word. Cocktail: amazing Guacamole: amazing Chips: idk how they elevated tortilla chips, but they did Sushi tostada: a revelation in dining Asada tacos: mid Service: excellent Atmosphere: a little noisy, but we went at a busy time of day. Not too hard to hear each other, though.
Alan went above and beyond for me i attended a company function tonight. I wanted Pepsi but they don't carry Pepsi so I said nothing for me. He went to the deli next door and purchased Pepsi!. I was so surprised and grateful. Entire staff are friendly and food was good. Loved the guacamole.
Food is excellent. Service was good. Had the tacos and they blew me away. Only feedback is tone down the meat in the bone marrow quesadilla; didn't think I'd ever say this, but they put too much meat in there... next time I'll get it with just the cheese.

Service was outstanding with a nice atmosphere. Best items we tried: strong Old Fashions, perfect Pina Coco Limon, Bone Marrow, Ceviche, Carne Asada Tacos, Vegetarian Taco and Churros. Items that need some work: The Chicken Tacos, Fish Tacos, Birria Tacos and Chicharrons. Overall great experience. Thank you!
Food was tasty and parking was good, but the portion sizes vs price were irritatingly small. You'd have to spend almost $40 to get full at this place - it was $9-$12 for a single taco and $17 for 2 small tostadas. Management seems to also not want to staff properly; we had 1 waiter for the whole floor so service was about as slow as you'd expect. As for the actual food, everything we ordered was good except the bone marrow quesadilla, which was very bland.
This place was really fun and cute spot in solana beach! I especially loved the tacos - the taco mi rey was sooo good! The baja fish was good and refreshing with a unique sauce but maybe a little dry when you get a large bite of fish. The won tostada was also really good!

The food was actually really good. Especially the ceviche and Mexican French toast. The music was so loud (at 11am on a Saturday) that we could not talk to each other. The server said she would turn down the music, then forgot and did it the second time we asked. By the end of the meal the music was turned back up so we couldn’t talk again. Canned beer was $12 and a small side of beans was $7. Great food but blaring music and expensive.
The Salt and Lime is a small Mexican restaurant with a view of the Pacific Ocean, in Del Mar. The menu is à la carte. The chicken taco was good. The Birria taco was just ok. The fish taco was mostly cabbage, and little fish. The rice and beans had no flavor. The salt and lime cocktail was good. The michilada was good. The best item that we ordered at the restaurant was the hot salsa…. Boy, was it hot and tasty. Service was good and the view was very nice. The high prices keep the riffraff out. This is some place I would NOT recommend to my family and friends. I would definitely pass, if I was in the area again.

Food was good, some tacos better than others. I loved the pastor chicken and my husband loved the shrimp. Queso app was delicious. Our server was awful- never came once to check on us and see if we needed anything, or to explain why we were waiting for an hour for our food. plates sat dirty on the table for 15 minutes before he came over. Never asked if we wanted drink refills or refilled our water. The sweet blonde hostess was absolutely busting her butt seating clients, cleaning tables, filling waters while it seemed like no one else worked.

Came in at 6pm on Monday, nearly half the restaurant was empty. Still had wait five minutes to be seated, which was not that big of an issue. Overall, the major disappointment came with the food. Ordered guac & chips, which was good but nothing special. Ordered 3 asada tacos, these were the driest and toughest tacos I’ve had in SD. No salsa, and five potato chips on the side? You can find better Mexican food literally anywhere else in SD, for a much more reasonable price. If you want to eat Mexican food in Del Mar and are willing to spend some money, go down the street to Tamarindo.
We thought we try a new place due to good reviews on social media so here we go, we started with the Chicharron Huarache it was average but I did like the thick corn tortillas underneath it but no flavor then tried the Queso fundido all cheese not a dip so have to eat it while it's hot, I had the fish tacos these where good fish was thick with cabbage, pineapple but no flavor on there white sauce, my wife had Salt & Lime salad she took two bites until I noticed there was a stand of hair in the food so we informed the waiter and they brought out another one (they should be wearing nets or caps to prevent this) but overall your better just having a drink then going to El Pollo Loco for dinner
Nice place! But very disappointed on the food. It is not good whatsoever! And overpriced. $9 for a carne asada taco. My boyfriend ordered 3 because the waiter said they were very small (they’re not) he forced himself to eat 1. The drinks are not good either.
We were excited to try out this place after all the great reviews, however, we got the bonemarrow Quesadilla and two of their tacos and everything was extremely bland. When we brought it to the attention of our server, they said they can give us a 25% discount on the Quesadilla... Really disappointing experience.
Had a reservation for 7 pm. No one at the host stand. Waited five minutes. Several other workers walked by and did not approach me or try and find a hostess. I honestly would never attempt to eat there again for that reason. That is horrible customer service. I can see why it was so empty.
