We just had soup ..both soups were excellent. Then we followed it up with a dessert which was also excellent. The staff were friendly and service was fast. Very enjoyable lunch experience.
We’ve eaten at Nicks since we moved to Denison 11 years ago. We’ve never been disappointed. Awesome food and service above and beyond!
Cute, feels like family breakfast spot. Coffee is good and hot and your cup is never empty. Service is quick and the food always hits the spot. Classic breakfast fare done well. We eat here regularly.
We live in Paris, Texas a 50-60 mile drive away, but we try to make the trip at least once a week. When we go we hope to have their fabulous stir fry, but we have never been disappointed by either their spaghetti and meat balls or their lasagna. We use to go there for breakfast, but changed to lunch because we couldn't do without their soup. The wait staff are so friendly and treat us like family. We have been going here for about ten years and have yet to get a bad meal.
The food is decent. However, I really enjoy the small town feel and the exceptional service of this restaurant. Jennifer the waitress, was very nice and always visible and accessible. There is the the clean up man, Chapo, that is very friendly and great to talk to. I always look forward to talking to him!
I love going there. Went there just the other day with my mom and dad both my parents are in their 70's and my dad ordered an omelet and he ask our waitress if he "could get some salsa" she comes back and says "no!" Real quick like then puts her hand on his shoulder and just starts laughing 🤣 and for my dad he loved it because he too is such a joker. Doing things at the dinner table even teaching his grandkids and even great grandsons how to blow the paper off of the straw 🤣
Loved it! Generous portions, excellent food and kind people. Cozy and welcoming atmosphere and the staff looked happy. They were busy but seated us quickly and the food came out quickly. We will definitely return!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Nick’s Family Restaurant, and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience. From the moment we walked in, the warm, welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made sure we had everything we needed. The menu offers a great variety of dishes, with something for everyone—whether you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast, a fresh salad, or a comforting lunch. I opted for the catfish fillet and iced tea it was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked with generous portions and iced tea is best one. What really sets Nick’s apart is the consistency and heart that goes into every meal. You can tell the food is made with care, and that’s not something you find every day. The prices are also very reasonable, making it a fantastic spot for a casual yet satisfying meal. If you're looking for a cozy, family-friendly place with great food and excellent service, Nick's Family Restaurant is definitely worth a visit. I can't wait to come back!
We drove into town from Sanger Texas to visit our son who goes to school at Austin College. We decided to hit up this breakfast spot. It was delicious. We got pancakes,French toast, hash brown scramblers, eggs over easy, sausage patties and they were all done to perfection, biscuits and gravy with sausage in it, amazing! The only concern was the bathroom situation. It was literal pandemonium! Women using the men’s bathroom, men using the women’s bathroom. They were single bathrooms, the doors locked so it wasn’t so terrible. Love this place!!
We’ve driven by Nick’s since we moved here two years ago so decided to try it. Because the outside looks older, I expected a dark brown old looking inside. Nope! It’s updated and bright. Lots of white. Very clean. And the wait staff is on their game!! The food has nice portions and is good. The bacon is soft and I saw that in another review, so you may need to request crispy bacon if that’s what you want. The pancakes and hash browns were delicious. Good coffee. You can tell they have a very regular clientele, so that’s always a good sign. I get the impression Friday-Sunday mornings are very busy.
Great for breakfast. We tried the Hash Stack and the Farmers Skillet with biscuits. Both were very good and large servings. We had extra onions on the skillet plate. The charge for a few more onions was $1.50. Just seemed to be excessive. This was the only con. The food, the service, and the atmosphere was great. Our waitress was very attentive and checked on us several times.
We travel quite a bit and eat at quite a few restaurants on our journeys. I try to always pay attention to reviews of food places. This place got enough good reviews that I figured we should try it. The good reviews were not wrong. The place has an amazing breakfast. The ceilings were clean which speaks volumes about restaurants. The bathrooms were clean. All of the dining areas were clean. The guy busing the tables was very personable and well kept. Meaning he didn’t look like he crawled out of bed and came to work which I am impressed with. The waitresses were all very friendly and kept a check on us to make sure that we didn’t need anything else. The pancakes were amazing according to my husband who is a pancake connoisseur. Meaning he’s eaten a bunch of them 🤣. When I asked for a to go coffee (which I very rarely do because it’s not that great at restaurants) I figured it would be a small to go cup but it was not. That is why I included a picture of it. I am impressed with their food and their service. Have a great day whoever is reading this. Happy travels 😊
Stopped here when driving through the area, and it was AMAZING! Great food, it was so good and there was a lot of food that came with each order. Lots of sides, and it just tasted so amazing. The servers were nice and while we were paying we spoke some with the owner’s daughter, she was very sweet. My husband, kids, and I raved about the food the rest of the week. Will be back every time we go to or from Oklahoma.
Food was good. Refused to give extra icing for the staple item, the cinnamon roll.
The cinnamon swirl french toast is a must try. My brother even bought a loaf of their cinnamon swirl bread for $10 so he could make some for his wife the next morning. It's that good.
The servers were extremely nice and attentive. The food is very bland and unseasoned. The worst items are potatoes items they are dry and they don't even put salt and pepper on them. I suppose if you're on a diet or have an allergy where you can't have seasoning for some reason this would be your place. Very disappointing because there are so many good reviews and the parking lot was packed like they have great food.
After a year of driving past it we decided to try it. Really disappointed. The chips and salsa were okay, the chips were good, however the main dishes were not it. The tacos had no flavor at all whatsoever, the chimichanga as well, it was drenched in cheese and grease. The rice and beans were better than the main dishes. It tasted like they had no seasoning at all. The servers were nice overall.
My husband and I ordered breakfast and received half cooked bacon, my husbands steak was supposed to be well done. First bite was slightly pink and the more he cut into it it got darker color and the eventually got to part of the steak that was raw on the inside. Steak has no flavor. Completely unsatisfied. Not to mention when I arrived the cashier was to busy having conversations with other to even check out me and other guest! I will never return or recommend this place at all! Especially for the price that I paid I expect at least decent food!
