I've been eating at Mr. Chopsticks for about 20 years, and it never disappoints! This visit was no exception. The food was fantastic, the service was top-notch, and the staff was as friendly and attentive as ever. I had the lo mein combo, which is not something I normally get, and it was flavorful, well-seasoned, and packed with a great mix of meats and veggies. My wife had the orange chicken, which was crispy, tangy, and just the right amount of sweet. My kid went with the pho, and it was warm, comforting, and full of rich broth and fresh ingredients. Beyond the food, the service really stands out. The staff are always incredibly kind, making sure drinks stay full and everything is just right. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel welcome every time you walk in. After two decades of meals here, I can confidently say Mr. Chopsticks remains one of the best spots in Denton.

Definitely one of my favorite food places and they have great service and typically have the food out in a reasonably quick time. I personally have the pork potstickers and sesame chicken with white rice and its very good every time.

The food was delicious, and it was good portion sizes for the price (especially the pad thai!). The best part is that they have REAL wasabi, and not the fake horseradish stuff one normally finds in the US. Our server gave me some wasabi to take home.

This place is so cozy and delicious! The smoked salmon rice paper roll was the best example of its kind that I've ever tried. Highly recommend this place for a filling and reasonably priced comfort meal!

25 years ago, my husband took me here (the original location) on our first date. We come back every now and again and bring our son, and tell the story. It is always a pleasure. Food and service are always top-tier.

My family and I have lived in this city for almost a decade and this was the first time we had tried mr. Chopsticks. We live on the other side of town but had heard so many wonderful things and I'm so glad we finally stopped in. They have an amazing menu. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. When we find good places like this we love to eat our way through the menu and I'm so excited to do so. Absolutely support this locally owned business!!

All around great experience. Greeted when we arrived and welcomed back when we left. Waiter, Tim, was very kind and helpful, perfect attention to our needs. No long wait for our food even on a busy Sunday after church. Food came hot, made with awesome fresh ingredients. Every dish was very flavorful and on point with spices. If you've never been, you should plan to go.

I wanted pho, so we can't to try this place. This is THE BEST broth I've had in ages! Smaller portion, could've used a little more noodles, but there was plenty of beef in my pho. Great flavor! The crab and cheese stuffed jalapenos were good too. If I lived closer to Denton, I would definitely come here often!

It’s an iconic place in college town. Service was friendly. Ok, it’s not a 5 star restaurant food, it’s intended to feel hungry college kids. It’s a mix of different Asian flavors, but nevertheless I had fun and it was a good experience. My friend took me there. We got in 25 minutes before there were closing and ordered bunch of food and they served us and were waited till we were done. It was inexpensive as well. If you are in Denton try it !

I’ve been meaning to come here since I’ve moved to Denton. So glad I finally did. Service was excellent. Andrew does an excellent job at ensuring you’re satisfied and enjoying. The Rice paper rolls with avocado were a refreshing way to start the meal. We then inhaled our sushi. So delicious and just a wonderful medley of flavors. You could tell it was made with love. Will definitely be back. Had a good time and just was a really down to earth place.

My husband and I didn’t use to order from Mr. Chopsticks because of a previous experience years ago, but we decided to give it another try. We placed the order for pick-up instead of dining in because that was a part of our issue last time, and our order pick-up was phenomenal! My husband just pulled up to the drive-thru kiosk and they handed the food straight out the window with no wait. I gave a 4 star review because we live two blocks away and were not wanting to leave our house for the evening, but the delivery fee was still pretty hefty so we had to pick up instead. Overall great food and decent prices. We will probably order for pick-up again.

I'm super picky about Chinese food but this was one of the best Chinese meals I've had in a long time! I read a lot of reviews before going so my friend and I ordered some of the suggestions. Pot Stickers: 1/2 Veggie, 1/2 Chicken The chicken pot stickers were AWESOME. Chicken was seasoned super well, dough was firm but still soft. Veggie ones were okay, a little runny and loose, hard to eat without a fork and didn't have much flavor to them. Garlic Green Beans: I read a lot of good reviews about these but I didn't particularly like them! I think there was a lot of butter/oil and the beans themselves weren't too great to begin with, so it was just covering up the flavor. Pepper Steak Beef with Fried Rice: This made up for the rest of the problems TOTALLY. The fried rice was really good, not too much salt or oil but still flavorful, and the steak was TOP NOTCH. Like, I haven't had that good of steak in Asian food ever. The veggies with it were really good as well, but the rice and the protein were the stars. Will probably get Broccoli Steak next time. Friend also had Crab Rangoon (I don't like seafood so I'm not going to give my personal review) but they were gone in minutes! They were very well cooked and he said it was pretty well proportioned in fillings.

So sad that they're located away from all the traffic, but it made for a nice quiet dinner with my friends. The food was good, and there was a lot of it, so I took it home and had it for lunch the next day. Since it was our first time there, our waitress took the time to sit down with us and explain each thing on the menu, ask us what we liked, and then suggested things for us to try. Her suggestions were spot-on. Loved it, and will most definitely be returning!

Food is great! Lots of flavor. Variety to choose from. Portions are large enough to share. Smaller of sake is a good deal and nice way to try all the flavors. Staff is friendly and attentive. Bathroom is spotless. Only recommendation, it needs an update interior and exterior.

I sat out on their little patio it was nice but I had to wait a while to be served. It depends on your taste buds but I think this place is worth a try, at least once. The spring rolls are perfection. I don't recommend the pad Thai but the vegetable stir fry and the lo mein are good. The staff is very nice and very attentive.

The Service was great for this visit. I like how the restaurant pulls from the "pool" of UNT students, most of the time you get a friendly, attentive and helpful server. Don't think that you'll get a regular tho, they are always seeming to rotate their staff. :) Food is great. We've been going there for several years and have never gotten anything we didn't like or wouldn't order again. I really like the varied menu options, all across the Asian cuisine. Tonight we had Cashew shrimp and shrimp Egg Foo Young, both were huge (we took over half home), hot and very tasty. Definitely fresh from the kitchen. The sushi is good, great to round out a dinner. Pretty reasonable price with the shrimp entrees being $15 and the sushi roll being $9. Most assuredly my go-to place for a weeknight dinner.

The prices are great. The spring rolls are really good perfect size a little more on the expensive side, but justifiable. Their highest spice level isn’t hot in the slightest. The sauce on the tofu stir fry isn’t sticking or adding much flavor to the dish. The dish in its entirety should be cooked slightly more to make the vegetables softer/ give a nice charred or grilled flavor. But with all this said, was still okay. I would give 5 stars if they add more spice / spice levels.

My husband and I have ordered take out from Mr. Chopstix a few times over the past few years and were always happy with the food. However, we recently decided to go eat inside and I was disappointed. It was not very clean, unfortunately. The wall decorations were coated in dust, and the air vents were filthy. Black and coated in dirt and dust. Doesn’t make you feel great about eating there. We have always heard good things and while the food is yummy, we won’t be eating there anymore dude to the cleanliness. Taught me to always eat at an establishment before takeout.

I ordered the Hunan stir fry plate and it smelled like a dirty diaper when it was brought out to the table. I googled while I was at the restaurant and it appeared to be the smell of rotten bamboo shoots, which were in my dish. Mr Chopsticks in Denton was a decent Asian restaurant. The menu is pretty large and has cuisine from many countries. I think if the menu was a little more focused, maybe the flavors would be better. Mr Chopsticks has been around for a long time and I don’t think things have changed. I got the beef rice bowl, would I get it again, no but I also probably wouldn’t be back to this restaurant.

We had a bad experience from here from the start. Sticky tables. Ran out of silverware. Had to ask for napkins, chopsticks, plates for sushi and soup spoons. The menu was definitely geared toward more of the college student than being authentic. My pad see ew had the wrong noodles, they were wide but more like fettuccine than what you would expect from real pad see ew. The Kung pao just didn't taste right and same with the Pho. The best thing we had were the Pork and Chicken pot stickers. Prices were high for quality of food and atmosphere. Bathrooms were clean, not much for parking. We won't be back

First timer! Service was great! Host was nice and honored a free egg roll for the purchase of sesame chicken. I was craving egg drop soup and they delivered. It’s good. I will say the cook is loose on the salt however. We had sesame chicken that was over-coated and had chunks of carrots and zucchini breaded as wel and coated as well. Way too salty and lacked flavor. It seemed like a day old dish repurposed to sell. Overall it didn’t taste like any sesame chicken I’ve had and had to spit out a bite of zucchini as it was off putting.. The broccoli was tossed in so I could eat that! The egg roll and crab Rangoon was good with the sweet chili sauce (it’s not hot). The sweet and sour wasn’t good either and the fried rice was literally rice soaked in oil with nothing else in it. Also never had friend rice like that. Overall, not a slam dunk on the food. But the service and atmosphere was nice. I received my food and then asked about the free egg roll and waited 3mins for it. Host made sure I had everything. It’s was a pleasant experience and likely be why I go back for the soup and sides.

This has to be the worst experience I've ever had at Mr. Chopsticks. The service was absolutely horrible. The waiter asked us several times over before he remembered and brought us our drinks and did it again with the apps and the main dishes. Took lots of time to get the service in the first place. The tempura was very bland and had no spice to it. The potstickers were basically flat and had very little inside them. The only saving grace was the crispy seaweed that was very crisp with just the right amount of saltiness and oil. I will gladly update this at a later date if this changes. I used to patron here on a regular basis for years. It's sad to see it have gone so far downhill.

I am unsure if there is new management or what but my past two experiences here have been fairly poor. The previous time I ordered a poke bowl and it was missing half the ingredients and I had to ask for them. This time I had a bone in my poke bowl. I was hoping this was a one off bad service but it’s been consistent. It is very unfortunate because I used to come here last fall and it was always delicious and had great service.

Food and service were good. The bad part of it was we didn't get to enjoy our food due to trying to keep the abundant amount of flies off the food. Everytime you try and take a bite, the flies were getting on the food. When you spend $135 you expect to have a good time with your family and not make it a fly swatting contest while eating. Disappointed.

This makes me sad to post as well, such an amazing place. Love taking my friends and family there, getting take out every other week.I’ve had great celebrations there too. But I recently went their twice, even took my mom for the first time, it was so embarrassing, the service and the atmosphere was bad. We waited 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. I went to get a server, she said oh we didn’t see you, and then no one came for quite a while we almost left, but I was trying to give them a chance. The you young man that served us was “trying” but was not attentive felt like we were not as important as his server friend, they were just chatting it up. Overall we were there for 2 hours for lunch, it took an hour and 20 minutes to get our food. It wasn’t busy and there were plenty of servers, they did the same to the other customers. The day I went alone the girl did her best she was the only server and was during a lunch rush but I was there for a long time as well. The atmosphere has gone downhill not clean and the outside looks dead and a bunch of broken chairs. I hope this changes soon. I will still keep hoping for the best, but I think I will just stick to the to go for a while.

Take out did not meet the reviews others were leaving. Crab Rangoons were soft and taste was not on any crab point. Egg drop soup had no specific taste, it was dished into container and left to sit on counter while the rest is the food was prepare. The price of an order Chicken Fried rice was $14, I added extra egg. The container of fried rice had a no egg bits and some egg noted. The taste was alright, but the chicken was suspicious. I hate leaving less that 4 star reviews, because in this economy you want lift up and not tear down. The higher cost of food, the less than clean front end, and the less than ideal quality allows my conscience to post.

I recently visited Mr. Chopsticks in Denton, Texas, and overall, I’d rate the experience as average. The service was very nice, and the atmosphere was fine, but the food left me underwhelmed. I ordered the fried rice, which oddly came without any white rice, and the flavor didn’t stand out. The spring rolls were okay, but they were served without any dipping sauce, which was disappointing. While the staff was friendly and attentive, the quality of the food didn’t justify the price. I would recommend visiting a more authentic and value-focused Chinese restaurant instead of Mr. Chopsticks.

Very disappointing. Server was cool, however when bringing our cups for the drinks, he had his fingers holding them from inside the cup. No free refills. Had the crab rangoon and chicken egg roll appetizers. Both were really great! The entree on the other hand, not so much. Had the Broccoli Stir Fry with beef and noodles. It was like it wasn’t even seasoned and the ginger soy sauce was way too strong. Almost felt like a microwaveable meal. Entree was not worth the $14 price.

This used to be one of my favorite places to eat, but man! It has really gone downhill. I've been here so many times and never had a complaint. I was so sad to have to change it from my 5 star rating to this 1 star. Server seemed high or something. Very spaced out and couldn't get our order right or even understand what we were saying. They changed their fried potstickers and they're so weird and breaded?? It looked like a chicken nugget. The service was awful they have one clueless server here right now that has no idea what he is doing and after an hour of waiting on him to get a clue, someone finally came out to help him. I waited over an hour for my two rolls of sushi and it was not even busy. The food was sub par and overall experience was trash. I'll never be back.

I've eaten here many times before and food was ok. Yesterday I ordered sweet & sour pork , cashew chicken, steamed dumplings and pork fried rice. I called in my order, was told it would be 25 minutes, I arrived after 30 minutes and the order wasn't ready. Ten minutes later the last two items to come from the kitchen were the pork and chicken. I live 3 minutes away, when I got home the chicken and pork were cold, and were so over cooked that the meat was inedible. It was hard and tasted like it was cooked a day or two prior. The dumplings were good but there was no sauce. The rice was mushy. Anyone can have an off night but this was beyond off and should never have left the kitchen. There's no way they didn't know what was going out the door and that's a problem. I won't be going back, and I won't be recommending them.

It makes me sad to write reviews like this because this restaurant is beloved by Dentonites but I have long wondered why. It is some of the worst Asian food I have ever had. I wonder if it’s trying to do too many things at once since they serve multiple Asian cuisines but, despite this, we decided to give it a second chance after our first experience back in 2015. Unfortunately, we were disappointed a second time. We are not picky eaters by any means but I truly believe I could find something in the frozen dinner section at our local grocery store and it would taste better. Our entrees were soaked and soggy in a watery sauce with virtually no flavor. They didn’t resemble what they should have at all and ended up in the trash. I don’t think we’ll give it a third chance.

Pho meat was grilled???? Pho had not enough noodles. Stir fry vegetables were charbroiled and flavor was terrible. Sushi was dry and even the table next to us tried a bite of something and had to spit it out. Our server was kind but the cook needs training. The place needs a thorough cleaning as well. Sorry about leaving a negative review but don't want anyone else to experience $50 loss for feax asian Pho or stir fry. On a positive note, the deep fried Crab Rangoon was tops.

My son and I ate here for the first time tonight. We live right down the street and all I can say is we were Extremely disappointed. We ordered Miso soup, hot and sour soup, fried chicken pot stickers, egg rolls and the chicken mixed veggie dish. When the main dish came out it had a foul odor to it. My son and I took one bite then sent it back. It tasted as if something was spoiled. My son only took 1 bite of his egg roll and thought that tasted off as well (egg rolls are his absolute favorite) we ended up ordering 2 more bowls of soup to go because we were starving and we knew that was the only thing we thought tasted decent. We will not be returning unless it's just for soup.

Absolutely horrible service! The guy was rude and acted like we inconveniencing him. We were picking up 75 dollars worth of food. Did not include silverware or napkins we had to ask and he was mad that we asked. Didn’t give us enough silverware. And had to ask again!! Then we asked for soy sauce and gave us 3 packages for 75 dollars worth of food! They combined food which was for separate people and made things confusing and hard to share off the same plate. Would not recommend!! We were taking my sister who just started college out for a meal And it was ruined by his bad attitude and horrible customer service.

To begin service was horrible. We sat ourselves which was fine. It took a good 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. We ordered crab Rangoon, and it took 20 minutes for us to get it. When we did get it they were cold. 2 minutes later our food shows up and now we have an entire small tabled covered in plates. Our server never bothered to check on us after that. He did pass by a couple times to tend to other customers. I promise you we were not rude in the least. If you enjoy food that resembles anything Asian I encourage you not come here. It's expensive and food tastes like nothing. The pho noodles were way over cooked and the cilantro has the most flavor of anything on our table. The best part about the meal was the water. 1 star goes to the large glass of water.

I found a hair in the vegetable wrap we ordered. Tried to discreetly bring it to I the attention of our server. Waitress came back to ask where the hair was. Instead of remaking the entire plate, they only wanted to replace the single item on the plate where the hair was found. I guess I should have read the other reviews, this seems like a pretty common occurrence. I don't understand how the health inspector doesn't visit this place more often. Before leaving I asked to speak to a manager. I was told that there was not one there that day. The best they could do was to take my name and number and give me a call back. Customer service was utterly underwhelming.

As a long time customer, I've loved eating here, but since the pandemic, the quality has decreased markedly. Since they became "take-out only", there has been an issue with almost every order I've placed. Often small things, like not having sauces, but other times, they'll screw up large portions of a meal. These aren't hard fixes, just a little quality control on what leaves the kitchen, would fix the problems. I'm quite disappointed, as this used to be my favorite asian food place in town.

Really used to love this place. Used to go almost every week. Food quality and service went down though. Waitress took one drink order at a time, even though we were all ready at the same time, and ignored one of us until she came to take our food orders. Calamari tasted like imitation, and drinks tasted watered down. Pretty bummed out, not really worth the price anymore.

I will not be ordering from here again. I got the combo fried rice and asked for the meat to be well done. There are brown specs of something all in the food and there is a taste of liver, which I hate, plus the smell is off.

I ordered shrimp egg foo yong to be delivered. They sent me beef and shrimp. Egg foo yong and I called to complain about beef being in my egg foo yong and the gentleman on the telephone told me that I had to bring the mistake order in and they would prepare a new order for me and I thought to myself I ordered a delivery. Why don’t you just make an order fresh for me? Send it to me and I will give the delivery person the mistake order and they said I would have to pay for the delivery fee. I thought that was ridiculous. You make a mistake you’re supposed to correct it. I come from a restaurant background my family owned 19 restaurants

I hadn’t eaten anything all day, so I ate here for lunch and ordered the special for the day. I received food poisoning, the worst I’ve had in my life and I will never eat here again. Read some of the past reviews and felt like the person who said the food was on the floor and had pests in the kitchen was probably right. It goes to show you should read the lowest reviews before eating out.

The pho is very watered down and not good at all. The broth taste is so bland and the meat is like rubber. I was so disappointed after reading some of the good reviews.

I would have loved to eat lunch here since I've eaten here before and it was really good. But we walked in, it's self seating so we sat down, were never greeted, no one ever looked up. There was 1 employee watching YouTube by the counter, 2 others casually going around to the other tables and no one ever looked our way, so went to Mellow mushroom instead with a much better atmosphere! There were only 3 parties in this whole restaurant, including us.....

Server came late with my drink. Food was dried up and barely edible. I tipped the man who cleared the tables who brought me a fork instead of her. Barely any flavor in the food. Won't be back.

This use to be the best Thai in the area, hands down. Since 2020 I have been hugely disappointed any time I have gone back and lacks consistency in taste. Today my spring roll was cold, not room temp, cold. Could barely taste garlic on stir fried green beans and the pic shows the cabbage that was in my pad see ew. It's suppose to be cut up and throughout the dish. Good bye Mr. Chopsticks, this time you have lost my business.

I was hoping to support a small local restaurant, but I canNOT recommend eating here. Ever. The food completely lacked flavor. The noodles were mushy and over cooked. The vegetables are also excessively mushy and overcooked. If you want something that tastes fresh, this is not your place. If you have extremely low standards for Asian food, maybe this place is for you. If you've never had Asian food, don't go here to try it. Also, for a place called Mr. Chopsticks, why did I have to ask for a pair? Egg rolls were decent, but taste very very similar to the frozen ones you can get at the store. Speaking of, a frozen Asian entree would probably have tasted better. Wait staff was nice though! (Pictured- Pad Thai and Lo Mein)

Food is alright but it has given everyone I’ve ever brought here food poisoning at least once. I’ve gotten it twice over the 5ish times I’ve eaten here. EDIT: ordered delivery for the first time hoping I’d get better luck. They sent us the completely wrong completely cold completely bland food. Chopsticks you USED to be good.

Took a seriously long time to get service even though it was only modesty busy. I ordered an appetizer and asked for it to come before the meal - it came at the same time as the entrée. The appetizer was burnt. The chicken pad Thai was awful. The chicken was cold, the noodles were rubbery, and the sauce was congealed.had to flag someone down to get silverware. The air vents where I was seated looked like they were last cleaned in the 70's. .. I ate the burnt appetizer because I was famished. I couldn't stand the entrée. I paid and left and will not return. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Ordered through DoorDash and not one item was right. Fried rice had no eggs or veggies (as advertised), egg drop soup had more seasoning than soup (inedible) ordered sweet and sour chicken and it came with no sauce in my chicken just a tiny side cup not nearly enough to cover. The only thing I could eat was the egg roll and within 30 min developed staph food poisoning!!! Not to mention outrageous prices for what they serve. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!

Went here for the pho when the place opened and while the service was quick at first it took over 25 minutes to just receive my egg rolls and we had to prompt the waiter to have them check on our pho. The pho itself was watery and very under flavored while being nowhere near warm enough for a 40 minute wait. I would not go here again when you can get much better pho at a lower price almost anywhere.

I got food poisoning from here thinking this place was going to be good. Instead, after eating my shrimp fried rice and crab rangoons, a few hours later I felt the worst Ive ever felt. Ive only had food posioning once in my life. Never going here again. EDIT: After reading many reviews I advise nobody to come here. Food poisoning, wrong orders, digusting food, horrible management. Seeing these other reviews makes me want to tell everybody not to eat here ever.

Worst experience ever. First, there was a hair in my California roll (they did remake it). We also ordered chicken egg rolls that never came out, and the server didn’t mention them until I brought it up when we got the check—he said they’d already been taken off, as if hoping we forgot. Our two chicken and rice bowls took about 40 minutes to arrive, and overall the service was just terrible. Not the first time this location has dropped the ball either.

This was my first visit at this establishment and my last. The gentleman taking take out order had a very nasty attitude. I was in search of some Pepper Steak and didn’t see it on their take out menu therefore I tried to inquire about it. Instead of his approach being approachable he was very rude and standoffish and replied it’s what the menu said. My rebuttal was “okay I don’t understand that is why I am asking I see Pepper oriental” his reply was that’s it you add the beef. Then I asked if they use brown sauce he replied very rudely it’s on there so I looked and asked “So is Ginger sauce the same as brown sauce?” the gentleman replied it’s all there. I then stated I asked because I am not Oriental/Asian his rebuttal was and. I only purchased my parents food from this place I would not spend my money in a place like this. I seriously thought about making I.C.E. Aware that it’s a Hispanic man at an Asian restaurant working. However, I don’t want to block my blessings.

Terrible service, horrible and disappointing food. My roommates and I stopped by on March 10, 2022. None and I mean none of the tables inside were clean. I only managed to get a picture a few dirty tables. we stood in the middle of the restaurant for about 10 minutes before someone acknowledged us. It took another 5 minutes to get a table cleaned. Keep in mind that the employees saw us and avoided eye contact. They the servers were all over the place and there weren’t that many people inside the restaurant so I don’t know what was going on. It was too cold to sit outside and we weren’t wearing heavy jackets. When we finally got seated no one gave us a menu so we had to get up and take one ourselves. It took another 10-15 minutes for someone to take our order. The cup of water I received was dirty, it had some kind of black gunk at the bottom and the water was extremely cloudy. The food didn’t take too long to get to us but my food and one of my roommates’ food was room temperature. I got the mixed vegetables and the main veggie in my food was carrots. Half of my chicken tasted like it was marinated in ginger. I did not ask for ginger in my food. So that was very disappointing because I would get a piece of chicken that tasted fine but then randomly I could get one that tasted like ginger. The menu does not state that it was going to have ginger. It said it would be made in chili-garlic soy sauce. It wasn’t even spicy. I asked for noddles and ended up getting charged $3 dollars and no one could tell me why. My roommate that had room temp food said her portion was also really small and the food tasted nothing like curry. My other roommate got fried rice and she had no complaints. The cooks also had really loud music playing that was louder than the music playing inside the restaurant. The food used to be good about 2 years ago but apparently a lot has changed between that time. I will never return to this restaurant ever again.
