Portion sizes are generous for the price. I was given a soup that was very good that i didnt expect. THE FOOD IS HALAL. The meat is very well cooked and seasoned. They did a good job.
NUTRITIOUS AND DELICIOUS! This place is amazing. Authentic Afghan food with a casual vibe. Everything on the menu is made fresh upon ordering. The service is excellent, the staff are welcoming and kind. We had this fresh made healthy lentil soup, mantoo dumplings and lambchops with fresh potato fries and salad. The lambchops were the most tender and tasty I've ever had anywhere and even the fries have a unique flavor! I highly recommend this restaurant. Wow. Everything on the menu is so good! Thank you!
I came for the dinner buffet, and it was awesome. Variety of food from Qabuli Ozbeki to fish soup and salad, beef and chicken Koobida, and Ferni. Truly enjoyed the atmosphere, and the staff are super friendly and hospital. Definitely come back, Inshah Allah. Recommend to anyone looking for authentic Afghani حلال food.
I asked for their special dish, and they recommended the Kabuli Pulao. The taste was absolutely amazing—rich, flavorful, and truly mouthwatering. The portion size is generous, almost too much for one person to finish. Highly recommended for anyone who loves great food!
Wow!!! A rare, small, find. Excellent service, casual dining and unbelievably tasty Afghani food. Small place, and out of the way, but definitely don't miss this opportunity for some rich traditional food. Bring a big group of friends too. Seating is plenty. We had the lamb shank with a traditional rice ( delicious raisin carrot seasoned rice). The lamb shank falling off the bone, tender. The meal came with a tiny bowel of traditional chicken and chickpea soup, a plate of sliced cucumber tomatoes sweet red onion and lettuce, and a little bowel of bean soup/stew. We also ordered the eggplant which was absolutely AMAZING, served with a seasoned sauce and yogurt sauce and a Giant. fresh made hot fluffy bread- kinda like a non-oily naan bread 3 x the size you get at a grocery store! You have to try this place and for those of you who prefer the unique flavors of Halal meat-- this place serves only Halal and advertised so on their building sign. Lots more on the menus for us to try . And we will!!! Did I say they had fantastic very friendly service?!?!
After driving from Los Angeles to San Diego we got hungry. Kabul Kabob House was recommended by one of our friends in San Diego. I love the food coz it remind me almost the same test as in Kabul. Kabuli Polaw and lamb chops were special. Thank you Kabul Kabob House for the smooth and quick service.
Great portions, friendly staff, food takes me back to hometown. The lamb kebab was delicious.
The best hand slaughtered Zabihah halal Afghani restaurant in the San Diego region ! We keep coming back here for their food, hospitality and atmosphere. They serve most delicious meals which actually quite light on your stomach - unlike the Heavy greasy foods. Their top selling item is their whole wheat naan bread which is gigantic in size ! Just one naan bread can be shared between 4 people - it’s that gigantic ! Our usual order is that of - Meal for 3 - this huge meal Comes with your choice of Chicken and beef tikka kababs, Shami kababs, Rice, Bread, Veg curry and Chicken curry Burani Banderjaan (Eggplant Curry) Boolani (bread stuffed with potatoes and spring onions) Beef Mantoo (Afghani style mince beef dumplings) We have a lot of leftovers with this meal and has amazing value for your money. There’s a special free Tea station with hot water and tea bags and multiple refills. The place has the most hospitable staff who are super friendly and always willing to accompany your requests. There’s also a prayer space available with prayer mats to offer Namaz here which is an added bonus. Overall, this is my top recommendation for everyone who visits San Diego !
Amazing food. Very fresh and flavorful. The chicken and steak kabob were super tasty and juicy. The rice was fresh and flavorful. The sauces added a lot of nice flavor. Even the beans that looked like chili had a good flavor. Chicken curry was also good. Very clean restaurant and service was friendly. Will definitely go back. Lastly the prices were affordable.
If there were more than 5 stars I would give it. How should I start? The place, the moment I walked into the restaurant you can feel the family/home feeling, the decor was nice and the place was very clean and ordely. The person that tended to me was super friendly, he explained the menu to me with such detail and a smile on his face. Making me feel very comfortable about what I was about to order for me and my wife. This is my first time eating out here and I will be back with my kids. Let's talk about th food, I order a chicken Tikka Kabob with rice and salad. My wife ordered the beef shami Kabob with rice, salad and chattni. I got to tell you the food didn't disappoint, the flavor was so good, the chicken was tender, cooked to perfection, you can tell they take time marinating the chicken and then put in the skewer and the grill, they know when to take it out so it is just a litle charred around the edges yet soft and moist inside (not dried like in other places) here they know their way aroun their meat. The rice with a hint of saffron and their secret spices is to die for! I love rice yet this is very tasty and special. Their bean soup was unexpected yet a very special treat not salty not too savory just right. My wife's beef shami kabob was just as a pleasant as the chicken. There was a little int of spice on the meat wich makes it interesting and not bland. The tandoor bread was such a treat, we don't eat it very often and this is going to be my to go place for the Tandoor bread. We took 2 for home so my kids could tasted and it didn't ast very long after we came home, our boys ate the bread very fast. When it comes to the area, the please is really easy to get too, and there is handicap spaces as well as accomodatons for handicap as well as children. All an all it was a very excellent experience for me and my wife. This is a place that I will come back and recommed to everyone around. If you ever fee like eating Kabobs and are around El Cajon this is the place!

Unpretentious neighborhood eatery, great Afghani food, generous servings and reasonable prices. Served a wonderful soup and excellent bread. Chicken kabob with rice and eggplant with yogurt both very good. Will return to try other dishes
I was pleasantly surprised when i walked in. I was greeted and was taken to my table and the waitress Somaia was so nice. The Curry chick, kebob and rice my 6 year old ate the whole thing. I was like what, dang. We order the dough baadrang with mint was so refreshing like, Wow!!!! The chicken shami kabob and chapli kabob my wife and I ate it. The green chutney on the table was so yum and not too spicy. Thanks for a good time, definitely I would recommend it. I just wish it was closer to mira mesa where I like so I can be a regular. Also, I can not forget the waitress, Somaia. She was attentive and she was so quick. Did everything with a smile on her face and just loved what she was doing. Thank you for making my family feel welcomed.
The place has a very cultural atmosphere, and the staff are extremely warm and welcoming. It is very suitable for family gatherings, offering a peaceful and comfortable environment where you can enjoy a relaxed meal with your family. With both its ambiance and service, you truly feel at ease. It’s a place you would want to visit again.
I visited Kabul Kabob House in San Diego and had an absolutely amazing experience! The food was incredibly delicious and top-notch—especially the kebabs, which were just outstanding. Everything was super tasty and I’d definitely recommend it! Qabuli and kebab strongly recommend
The portions are quite large and very filling. When you dine in, they offer soup as a complimentary starter, which is a really nice touch. I ordered the manti, and it was fresh, made with thin hand-rolled dough, and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere inside is calm and peaceful, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with family. Overall, we were very satisfied with both the food quality and the ambiance, and it’s definitely a place worth visiting again.

Very good quabili(rice with raisins and carrots on top of lamb shank). Their pre-entree soup is actually really good. They also serve kidney beans with some plain salad. The price for San Diego, is actually really good. Afghan food is actually very uniquely good! Other neighbors in Afghanistan serve rice and meat, but none compare to Afghan food.

Been eating here for a while. Today was bad. They served me an undercooked lamb palow. Asked for another one and got an even worse one. My appetite was ruined and I do not want food from here any more. I didn’t even get a refund.
I walked in to eat dinner , the girl that was working there kicked me out of the restaurant for being transgender, she looked at me like she was about to kill me, her behaviour and body language said it all, I have eaten there few times the guy that was working there was ok with lgbtg person but unlike her , she completely pushed me out the door by saying we have no food , leave. Nothing left
Updating my review:- Today after long drive from SoCal , we come for Eftar to have Afghan food and from other hand support our Afghan restaurant business but unfortunately after long waiting to find someone to take and asking for service although all tables were reserved without any notice which was unacceptable and unexpected. We really disappointed for the first time see miss management.

We were trying to order only soup they refuse it they said if you want to eat something else we can give you soup but only soup is not really bad but in regular day if you give them five dollar order, they will prepare for you no more this restaurant

I was really excited to visit and eat there, and I even ordered Uber Eats from 20 miles away because the food used to be less oily and salty than other places. But today was a letdown. After we ordered, it took 50 minutes for the food to arrive, and it was cold. I couldn't understand why it took so long for cold food. Even the bread was cold and not fresh. When we tried to talk to them about it, the waitress got upset. The food didn't taste as good as it usually does, and the beans seemed a bit spoiled. Overall, the food wasn't good enough to justify driving 20 miles anymore. I don't think I'll be going back to that restaurant again.

we get there and order two burgers and they took more than 30 minutes the staff is only one person and she couldn’t able to handle all the works the owner have to focus on their stuff and try to make their customer happy but they’re not focusing on that they just made a business and that’s it
