Walked in with a group of 9 and was seated immediately on a Sat at dinner time. Ordered the whole garlic bread $11.50, bucatini shrimp and pesto pasta $24.25, half and half the works and pesto pie pizza $30.50. Garlic bread was good and as expected, came with marinara sauce. The pasta had quality fresh ingredients and was a generous portion. Pizzas are all 1 size and can feed 2 people. Generous amount of fresh toppings and the thin-ish crust was perfectly cooked, no char and it held its form for the most part. Both pizza flavors were good. Overall, all the food was good and portions were great for the price. Nothing was excessively salty or greasy. Service was decent. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. I would go back
Came in last night after the cal-Stanford debacle. To our surprise they managed to seat 4 of us right away and the e service was fantastic! Great salads, pasta, pizza! The hummus and toasted bread were HUGE and awesome!
Definitely recommended! We ordered pizza, pasta, arancini and a salad. Everything was so good! The pizza was beyond our expectations, one of the best we have tried in Bay Area. Our server was Claudia, she was really nice and patient, gave genuine recommendations on the dishes. Great experience!
Food was delicious, especially arancini and hibiscus coolers! They also do half and half pizza which is not mentioned in their menu. We got half-half of Mexicali Rose and Veggie Woks. We also got a pizza dough for $5 from their home kit, which turned out great! We chose to sit outside and the ambience was nice, will come again!
The pizza is good (and you can get half-and-half, we got half Veggie Works and half Sausage & Roasted Red Onion) but the real sleeper hit is the house-made fresh fettuccine. Delicious with a great chew. The Fettuccine with Mushrooms & Red Chard in particular is a flavorful and filling vegetarian entree. The friendly staff members offer gracious hospitality. No extra fees or surcharges on the bill - I always appreciate honest menu pricing.
Honestly the best pizza I’ve had, you can do half n half for the pizzas we got BAKED POTATO and Pesto never had anything like that before. For two ppl is was about $44 for 2 non alcoholic drinks, the pizza and some patatas bravas
Recent visit update, Feb. 5, ‘26: Just a shoutout to Noah, and Karla, our servers that night. It was a stressful day for me and my wife, our decompression is to have some comfort food. Howie’s is it, for us! Not only do you get great food, the service is excellent as well. The staff make you feel like you’re at a good friends’ place. New recommendations: Bucatini shrimp pesto, and the Patatas bravas! ——— Howie’s is a happy pizza place. Their pizzas are on a different level of flavor. I’ve had many pizzas from hole-in-wall joints, frozen, chain restaurants, homemade ones, to indie-artisanal creations. Howie’s is one of those truly artisanal pizzas. The ingredients may be the same as any other place, but you’ll notice a level up when it comes to their sauce. I think that’s where the difference is, aside from the distinct flavor that comes from the meats that they use. Each bite is a hearty mouthful. The only way to really tell is by going there and ordering one. I always get “The Works” and it has become my happy food, if you get what I mean. Their salads are also quite good, fresh and savory; a perfect complement to the pies and pasta fare that they offer. Service is friendly and efficient. That keeps me coming back, aside from the food. When you come in, it’s like being welcomed by old friends in the Cheers bar, (if you get the reference, you’re old😄✌️). My wife and I were even lucky enough one time to have our food prepared by the owner Chef Howie himself. The pastas are also very good, going from mild, familiar tastes, to bold, earthy flavors that make you understand what comfort food really means. Each bite gives you that satisfying deep breath of texture and umami goodness. If you haven’t been here yet… well I’m just going say, come on over. This location is quite busy with many different establishments around. Walk around and see for yourself. Lots of parking around the buildings in this town center, lots to see and try around here. It’s worth it!
Literally SO GOOD. I have to eat their food like at least once a month because they literally have the best pasta I’ve ever eaten. Their service is super fast and also they give you so much bread if you order that with hummus!! (My favorite is the carbonara but their pesto shrimp pasta is also awesome) FYI- these pictures are from 2 months ago!)
Even though this place is across the bay for us, it is always something to look forward to. Perfect place to sit outside and enjoy the amazing California weather. The locations allows for some shopping opportunity in unique mom and pop shops in the area. Went for Margherita pizza with hot baked potatoes and wings. Great tasting food and the beer and drinks selection is good as well. Do not skip them if you are in the area.
A little too many onions for my taste and the pizza was a little wet from the toppings. If you like the style, you will love the food. It has high quality ingredients and a great staff. If your looking for quality pizza this is your place.
We dined here before a concert at the Stanford jazz festival. The pesto pizza was amazing. Great service from the staff and we got to the show on time. Not the cheapest pizza but definitely worth it.

Nice place to hangout if you are in the area. They have a decent wine and beers and some beers on tap. Not the cheapest wine, but good overall taste. We only tried the homeless appetizer and boy it was big! Can easily serve three people for an appetizer. We sat at the bar area and were quickly served by the energetic Lauren ! Would come back here.
I love Howie's! Of course the food is delicious, but my family also has a holiday tradition of baking homemade pizza every Christmas from Howie's Pizza Kit and it always comes out amazing! Whether in house or frozen take-aways (hello frozen Bolognese lasagna!) Howie's never let's us down
I know this is described as a pizza place, but the pasta is what I go for. The carbonara and the bolognese are very nicely done. One of these days I need to try the pizza, but I can't resist the pasta dishes. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It is always a pleasant meal.

We were a group of 10, and on a Friday night around 6:30 pm it took about 30 minutes for us to be seated, which was reasonable. The pizzas were okay, and the selection was limited, but the Works pizza was the best. The service was friendly.
First time here! Our service was outstanding, and we loved that they can make the pizza half and half. We had the Prosciutto and the Mexican Rose — both were delicious! The outdoor seating was a big plus, especially on such a beautiful day.
Not too hungry so we shared plates as samplers. Bolognese with wide hand-made noodles, carbonara with thick noodles, a veggie pizza, meatball sandwich and chicken wings. Pretty tasty, would consider trying pizza with red sauce next time. The crust was thin so it had a nice crisp. For the meatball sandwich, you had to eat fast or the cheese surrounding it would get too hard. The chicken wings were nicely seasoned. There seemed to be less staff for a Sunday evening, it took awhile to get our orders as well as our bill.
I tried a bunch of stuff there. First up was the Caesar salad—it was fresh and crunchy, just how I like it. Then, I got a slice of their Sausage & Roasted Red Onion Pizza, and man, it hit the spot! The crust was nice and crispy, and the toppings were yummy. And let me tell you, the Bucatini Shrimp & Pesto pasta was on point! The flavors were really good together. The vibe there was pretty chill. It had a cool, laid-back feel to it, perfect for hanging out with friends. And the staff were nice too, always smiling and ready to help. If you're in the mood for some good pizza and pasta in a friendly atmosphere, give Howie's a try!
Went here with a group for the first time. Service was outstanding! Pizza was really good, Cesar salad was great and the garlic bread was delicious! Next time would like to try just a pepperoni pizza instead of the fancier toppings we chose. But will definitely be back. Great pizza!
Overall ❤️❤️ I am coming back again. Food had the right flavors. My favorite was arancini. We also had the Greek salad and half-and-half pizza - Veggie and pesto pie. My favorite was pesto pie ❤️🍕 Ambience and service was great. The place showed care. They had a huge party outside when we last went. Inside seats were available. The staff was very nice and polite. Do visit if you are looking for a good artisan style pizza place with vegetarian options.

Fantastic pizza and pasta. Service can be slow and forgetful. Caesar salad and their meatballs lesser known yummy dishes.
The waiter was extremely rude and the service was terrible. The food was completely inedible. The pizzas were too small. It was a complete travesty. The Mexican restaurant next door had much friendlier staff and delicious food.
Original rating: 3 stars. The taste is decent, not the best pizza ever but better than pizza my heart. What brought the rating way down for me is that the slices fall apart once you split it from the pie, all the toppings fall with the cheese, and it becomes impossible to eat your slice with one hand. I’m picky I know. But that’s how I expect pizza to be. Update: two fewer stars for the response from owner
