I really enjoy this spot. It's a bit of a go to for me. They have a large selection of beer that changes from time to time. They have really good pub style eats, I highly recommend the fish and chips. It's also a great place to gather with friends. I had a going away party with a minimum of 15 people. We all went out on the patio and had a wonderful time late into the night.

Very good atmosphere and the food was good. You order at the bar and someone brings your food to you. Good selection of beers

I have a phenomenal beer selection. To tap list isn't huge but what is on there is awesome. The food is amazing Pub Fair. We've been there twice. First time we had a pretzel, a scotch egg and pierogies. The second time we had fish and chips and shepherd's pie. Everything was superb. It really does have the feel of an Old English pub so don't expect anything shiny.

K
Krystal Christianson

Delicious beers on tap. Food selection is enough for this type of setting AND it’s really good food! The atmosphere is really cool & the bartender(s) are always super chill/nice. My husband & I love this little spot on the corner.

It was a great area to stop and eat after a nice walk around downtown Folsom! The burger I had was delicious and I recommend the mousse!

S
Sandra Garcia

The place was busy, which tells you a lot. The food was okay. It's pub food, but I've had better. And I like pub food. I ordered the bull dog, which said it was a sausage on a long bun. Turns out it was a banger on a standard hotdog bun. Tasteless. Scotch eggs were good. The kitchen needs to check their recipes and find some better ones

Marguerite Storbo

Really captures the British pub experience, minus the rain pouring down outside and usually dogs inside. The bangers, shepherds pie, and fish and chips are all excellent (quibbles about authenticity aside-this is California remember) and the beer and ale selection is good. Bring your darts.

J
Julie Robledo

The atmosphere was lovely and the food and customer service was incredible. Unfortunately, me and my family had to get home before the trivia night, but we got to play darts! This is the absolute best restaurant I have ever been to.

Lovely British pub. Awesome atmosphere and feel. Great to have such an authentic pub serving pub grub and excellent British brew on tap. Highly recommend

It has a great rustic feel to it. From the dimly lit interior to the muted painting and spiderwebs on the decorations. I've never been to England but it reminds me of all the movies I've seen so it must be authentic. Ordering at the bar at a place with a restaurant vibe was different but super easy and the bartender/host? was nice. Food came out really fast and was taken directly to out to my table. The food was delicious and I loved all of their house made sauces. We had the fish & chips, patty melt and scotch eggs and they were all exquisite. I personally would have like a few more fries to come with my sandwich, but looking back it really was the perfect amount because I was completely full when I finished. Complete side note, I loved the option to open the window. The little breeze we got on on this mid 80's summer day was a real treat. Definitely planning on coming back with friends.

I showed up at five o clock on a Wednesday and asked the bartender if I could bring 27 guys over in one hour. He and the staff happily accommodated and prepared a fantastic meal for us all. Great food, great staff!

Rustic English-pub restaurant with excellent beers and authentic English food. Good parking and private booths for dining.

Hands down one of the most fun pubs in the Sacramento area. Drinks are new and fresh with different specials on the regular. My son and I stopped in for trivia night the other day, grabbed a menu and stepped up to the bar to order. He had a soda and I went with a recommend Belgian beer. Shepard pie, giant pretzel, and the fish and chips are a must. Service from everyone was great, bartenders to runner staff are top notch. Cute booths for intimate conversation as well as large community tables for the best of gatherings both family and friend. Parking is all street except a parking garage that's a bit of a way.

Used to love coming here just as an occasional place to grab a bite to eat and some good beer for years. The interior is very rustic and resembles a turn-of-the century Irish pub. I loved it so much I brought my newlywed wife here two years ago on our second date. Just a week ago we had our wedding reception there and the service we received was beyond phenomenal. Food was expertly prepared by Chef Josh and our bartenders were the sweetest. They made our reception feel like both a part of the restaurant but also like we had some privacy. And on a FRIDAY NIGHT to boot! That couldn't have been easy on them. So all in all, I highly recommend this place to everyone I can.

I was surprised at how good the food is at Fat Rabbit. Usually, British style pubs feature lots of crappy food, but their menu is pretty diverse and reasonably priced. The Scotch egg was great, as well as the pierogies and poutine. I plan on coming back to the Fat Rabbit soon!

The pub is very old school but it has a historic charm to it. I had the Shepard's pie and it was delicious. They had a lot of great pub style food options and a large scotch selection if you're into that. Decent place to stop and eat at in historic Folsom and the prices are very reasonable.

It's different from what I'm used to, because you sit yourself first and go and order to the bar, but the food and beer is awesome.

Was there for va few days in folsom and would have to say this bar has the best beer/ale and food combo on sutter. The Ales on tap are unique and mostly European and are rich and flavorful. The food is also amazing I had a gyro and scotch eggs and it hit the spot. Definitely recommend this place if you are in town. Also great thanks for the bartender who explained every beer and was very knowledgeable (didn't get his name but young white man with glasses beard and hat) seemed like their main bartender.

O

Really great fish and chips. The booths give a nice cozy feel. The scotch egg was crispy and delicious. No complaints at all. I could hang out at this pub all night.

Twelve of us seniors invaded The Fat Rabbit in search of a unique restaurant where we could just hang out together. Many of us use canes, two use walkers. The Fat Rabbit was very accommodating. The beer menu was expansive. The food menu unique and delicious. Bangers and Mash, Bangers and Beans, Chicken Pot Pie, Meat Pies, Hamburgers, Sandwiches all beautifully presented. The wait staff excellent and fun. We all enjoyed ourselves.

The Fat Rabbit is our favorite place to go relax away from family when come back home for the holidays. It's never too loud. There is good pub food, and great cocktails. It's a completely unpretentious comfortable old style pub reminiscent of our favorites in Edinburgh.

Truly a public house! We have been going here since 2016, and have always had great food, great British beer, whiskey! Atmosphere is cozy and friendly. Bangers and mash are spot on! Very tasty! Fish and chips are crazy good, and the scotch eggs are amazing! Wait staff are friendly and efficient.

Great pub in Folsom! The bartenders know how to pour a perfect pint of Guinness! The pretzel and Perrogies are really good. Friendly staff. Great pub feel. Awesome location in the middle of old town Folsom. Update: October 17 2020 Oh Guinness! The Guinness Can with the Nitro Widget at home during the Covid-19 Pandemic is not the same. Beautiful Northern California day to enjoy a Guinness at my favorite Folsom Pub. Come to Fat Rabbit on Sutter Street and enjoy a pint (or two) of the black stuff. Perfectly poured - always. Cheers!

Excellent European style pub. Beer selection is awesome. The gravy is slightly thicker than in Germany, but the pork schnitzel is delicious.

Reminded me of the pubs in Oxford where i used to live. The most authentic British Pub I've found sense comibg home. It smells like an English pub, it pretty much took me right back to England. The food was incredibly good. I had a fish sandwich and chips 🍟 and I was full but couldn't stop eating!! Definitely a place to go to mix it up, or show your kids not all good things come from America, relaxing and comfortable atmosphere with attentive friendly staff. Will absolutely be going here again and bringing my English father!

The Fat Rabbit in Folsom has such a great, low-key vibe that makes it the perfect spot to just hang out and relax. The food is way better than your typical pub fare, everything I've tried has been seriously delicious, and their beer list is honestly incredible with so many unique options to pick from. It's easily one of my favorite places to grab a pint and a great meal without any fuss, and I can't recommend it enough if you're looking for a solid neighborhood haunt.

Very casual English style pub. We got menus at the bar then found an open booth. All orders for food and drink are placed at the bar. Bartenders were busy but pleasant and did a good job taking orders. I had the shepherds pie, husband had the fish and chips. Both very good. Tried a couple of IPAs which were interesting and tasty. Good place for pub experience.

Nice staff, great food. The ambiance was inviting and relaxed as any good Pub should be! I had the patty melt because I'm a fan of grilled onions and it did not disappoint. The beer selection was also good.

My boyfriend and I visited the Folsom Historical Center, and around 3:00 pm, not many places were open. We decided to try Fat Rabbit, and it was the best decision of the day! Everything was fantastic—the service, the food, and the atmosphere. We loved it! We ordered two gyros with fries. The meat was delicious, the pita bread was perfect, and the fries were more like home-style potatoes. Loved it!!! We will definitely come back if we're ever in Folsom again. Thank you!

I was waiting for my ride and sat the the bar and I had the pleasure of having Tracy as my bar tender and I ordered an old fashioned and I’m impressed it was it was pretty good. I ordered stout beer and she recommended Porter. Which is really good. Ordered food and fish and chips was good!

Tucked into old folsom is this treasure. Walking up ypu see a classic lookung pub with beautiful windows and painted white. Openung the heavy door leads to wood all over, brass finishes, and lots if character. The food menu is small but fits in with the overall vibes. They have food and drink specials. The old fashion comes with a show and the ither drinks come with warmth. Our bartender was great, even if he was busy. Definitely recommend this treasure.

I love the casual dining feel in the pub. Needs a thorough cleaning, to include carpets. Restrooms resemble a mechanics garage set up. Not a restaurant one. Food was soectacular.

Thebplaceblooks and feels amazing. Nice location. Nice little pub. The service was excellent. Food came quickly and tasted good. The fish and chips looked great. The shepherd pie was okay. The burger was nice and juicy. Didn't like the sauce, though. Worth a visit.

Nice "pub" experience (or at least as I picture one in the UK would be). Prices were reasonable, some good beers, and my wife and oldest son loved the Irish Coffee. No problem hanging out there for a lengthy time. Only downside was they seemed short-staffed, as tables weren't bussed very quickly. Food was good but not spectacular in any way.

THEY SERVE PIEROGIES! And their good too. Served with caramelized onions and sour cream. The space is rustic and there is no table service. But the music is great and the bartenders are on it. Greta selection of beers. I'll come back.

First time in, so no expert here. Fish and chips very good and a nice sized meal. Side salad was good and so was my draft ale. Update December 2025 Fish and chips still excellent. Some great beers on the board. Service still rather perfect.

It was a little loud, and the wait staff perform bare minimum tasks, so don't expect restaurant level service. However, they were friendly and helpful staff. That being said, their food is surprisingly delicious, reasonably priced and well-cooked. This is definitely not typical bar food! According to the friends I was there to meet, it's consistently good, and a favorite location for them. I didn't try the drinks, but they did. It seemed a little hit or miss, but they definitely have their favorites, and one guy ended up getting quite a few. Overall, I definitely recommend this place if you want unusual bar food while enjoying some drinks with friends. They also have an unusual amount of seating, extending restaurant style out of the bar.

English pub decor is charming. Prices are reasonable and serving sizes are good (my husband and I split the perogis and poutine fries). Good selection of beer on tap (any English style pub that has Old Speckled Hen on tap is good in my book).

H
Henry

The atmosphere was friendly and very casual. Definitely gives of English pub vibes. There is indoor and outdoor seating. I noticed several areas for people to stand and have a drink away from the bar. Several medium and large booths to accommodate most party sizes. I even noticed a dart board in the corner The menu has several traditional pub foods which was nice to see and as well as some extras. We ordered a fish sandwich with fries upgraded to poutine style and the special: pork schnitzel, and bottled root beer. The food came pretty quick and portion size was reasonable. The fish was really crispy and the brioche bun was great, however I would've preferred more tartar sauce on my sandwich. The poutine was pretty good too, their gravy was pretty darn delicious and their steak fries crispy, however they could've used larger cheese curds The schnitzel had an amazing crunchy shell and the pork cutlets weren't overly dry. The masked potatoes has a lemony tang to it that took a minute to get used to, but the slight acidity helped balance the heavier schnitzel. Over all the food was pretty decent and we would be interested in coming back if we were ever in old Folsom again. It's a nice break from the burgers and pizzas that are found near by

K

This place has a classic, old-school bar feel that really takes you back. The atmosphere is laid-back and perfect for just hanging out. The appetizers were pretty decent — nothing too fancy, but satisfying enough. If you're after a modern spot, this isn’t it, but if you're looking to chill, enjoy some food and drinks, and soak in a bit of nostalgia, it's worth stopping by. A solid spot to relax and unwind.

People who like old world charm will love this place. A typical Irish bar serving varities of cocktails & beers from all over the world, especially from Ireland. Sumptuous food & noble portion size tops it all.

B
Ben Mc Watters

The food was hit and miss. The sliders were delicious, but my girlfriend said her fish and chips went soggy rather quickly. Not to mention the restaurant was uncomfortably warm, many of the people in our party noted the heat. The very friendly staff and excellent bartender make this a great place for a drink when it's not sweltering outside, but I'd skip the food on my next visit.

L
Luke Miller

Great food, good atmosphere, weird bartender, water is self served out of a kitchen bucket with spout attached. 30$ for a sandwich, fries, and a beer

M

You'd think a bar that serves Guinness could at least spell the word Guinness correctly on the menu. Look for another misspelled word as well. Comical.

L
Lisa Geare

First visit. Far less than a welcome at the bar. Bartender made it very clear that there "is no service". Worn, dirty and expensive for the volume and quality of food. This said, the bartender said this is a typical Irish pub. I've never been to Ireland, but my mother-in-law was proudly Irish, and had no clue what a clean kitchen is. The fries were good, fish well cooked, signatures cocktail delicious.

A

First off- ENFORCE the parking in your parking lot! So many cars in the lot belonging to people who are NOT in the establishment…. Very frustrating! Secondly, the place could use a really thorough cleaning.

It's a cute little spot, but the food and service were okay. I'm not sure why the burger didn't have lettuce on it. The beers were good. There's not a lot of seating available inside, though.

Here on Sunday afternoon. One of the only places open today for dinner. I ordered the fish and chips because it's a pub. My friend ordered fish tacos with a side salad. My fish was so salty and the fries were a little over done. The plus side is that it took about 3 minutes for the food to arrive or is that a downside? Atmosphere was good in that it has an old pub feel. Maybe come for drinks and not food.

T
Taven Tanger

We went here on a whim to try out their jumbo pretzel and a couple of house drinks. Unfortunately, the pretzel tasted stale, like it was heated in an oven and the outside got hard. Additionally, their blueberry lemon Collin’s was not nearly sweet enough. It mostly tasted of club soda, and the blueberries were not ripe at all. I was really hoping to like this place. We’ll give it a try again sometime soon and hopefully update my initial review.

Jessi C
Jessi C

This restaraunt used to be so good, Do not order the chicken sandwich on the menu, the bread was super light, and the chicken was a couple of chicken fingers (rather than chicken breast/thighs/etc) and I mean like ground up chicken finger/nuggets you'd get from a fast food joint on a budget (like del taco or BK chicken strips) The fish and chips were fried pretty well though so I'll give them credit for that, but if you can fry up fish, why not bread and fry up real chicken for the Sando?

My partner and I were asked to leave immediately because we had reusable water bottles with us. Staff were very rude.

A

So I met up with my friends and cousin here this afternoon. I showed up maybe 10min after they had already been there. We were IGNORED the entire time. My friend even went up to the bar and the bartender IGNORED her. There were only 3 people seated on the left side of us and 2 people in the booth on the right side of us. BOTH of those tables seem to be getting service, but not our table. Not to pull a race card (my friend is caucasian and so were the other patrons), but it was EXTREMELY uncomfortable being ignored like that and be told AS WERE WALKING OUT to "Have a Nice Day" by the SAME bartender who ignored us the entire time was a slap in the face and just downright rude. Wasted time coming to this place....and by time we all live 45min-1hr from Folsom. All we wanted to do was sitdown at a place to relax and catch up for a quick lunch since we all happened to be around the same area. My family and I will GLADLY go elsewhere. I encourage and always shop local shops, but this location will NOT be receiving our business. Shameful behavior.

L

After reading the (obviously fake) reviews, we thought this would be a great place to take our family for lunch. For an Irish pub we were very disappointed in the food quality service and overall cleanliness. The inside of the front door was covered with grime and the silverware was dirty. The bathrooms were less than average and in fact, outright disgusting!! 🤢 we had to order at the bar, no server just a runner to bring food out. The shepherds pie was runny and gross. Sorry we won’t be coming back 😔

Rude and abrasive Barman. Stunned by how offensive he was. A shame that such a nice atmosphere is ruined by an angry and unwelcoming gentleman

N
Noah Smith

The food is not bad, but the main bartender is extremely rude and unwelcoming. Demanded that every single member of the party ordered something in order to participate in their “free” trivia night. Bartender was immediately accusatory and threatened to kick us out unless we all made individual purchases. Even after our party had made some purchases, he continued to individually harass the members of the party who were slower to order.

A
A very honest person.

We went there for Easter and the place was very dirty smelled very musky. Not something I would recommend the service was horrible. The bartender acted like we didn’t matter. I felt like we had to like seriously like ask for drinks all the time. It was just not a good experience and most of all it just seem like that rug has been there for 100 years and it just smelled in there

the bartender told my entire group to each order something or be kicked out when we were just there to hang out with friends. we didn't even do anything we just sat down and were threatened to be kicked out. some of us were already planning to order something but now we all had to for literally no reason. horrid service

Run to don’t walk, the place is dirty and not organized. I am from Scotland and that is not a pub. We game to try to food, but with the look of the place and the lack of service we walk away.

Say their open till 11p, but walked in at 10:10p and was rudely told the pub is closed. They were actively pouring a beer for another customer (there were over 40 other people in the pub). Please adjust your hours, and if it says 11, be actually open until 11p.

Poor additude poor service for a Saturday afternoon. Next time don't yell at a party of ten you won't serve them unless they are sitting at the bar. After we stood in line for 10 minutew trying to order 200 dollars worth of drinks. Won't come back.

Greasy fish and chips, and the barman, who was our server , never checked on us even once! Not at all busy and no excuse. Casual pubs with good food and service do exist...this place is not one of them. We were told they made their own beer cheese in house . Rather, we were served a cheap nacho jalepeno cheese sauce with the pretzel... a far cry from proper beer cheese. Never again!
