Voodoo Bayou is a great choice for anyone looking for some Cajun/Creole style food while on Las Olas blvd. They have a wide selection of choices, including gumbo, etuofee, jambalaya, fish, etc. I had the gumbo which was awesome! It consisted of shrimp, orca, chicken, and andouille sausage. The shrimp this place has are HUGE! Very filling and flavorful. The restaurant has a very cool ambiance to it- remind me as if I were right in the French Quarter; velvet seats, voodoo dolls, neon, liquor shelf’s, fancy balconies, etc. Service was quick and efficient. Would definitely go back!
My partner and I checked out the Las Olas location of Voodoo Bayou today. We’ve been to the West Palm Beach location a few years ago, but we had never been to the Fort Lauderdale (Las Olas) spot until now. The restaurant’s décor is dark, sultry, and sexy. We sat at the bar, and our server, Tony, was very nice and accommodating. We ordered from the great happy hour menu. I had the Two Smoked Old Fashioned ($8.99) — yummy! My partner ordered the French 75 (not on the happy hour menu). For bar bites, we ordered the Shakey’s gator tail, cornbread, pear & pecan salad (lunch portion), and six hickory-smoked wings ($1.30 each). And we had the nerve to order dessert — the croissant bread pudding! It was a huge portion that could honestly feed four people. We were super stuffed and happy. Everything we had was very good. Now let’s talk about the alligator bites. My partner and I had no business eating all that, but to be honest, they tasted like popcorn chicken. That’s my best description of the flavor. If someone served them to you without telling you they were alligator, you would absolutely think they were popcorn chicken. If you’re in Las Olas and in the mood for Creole-Cajun food and a great vibe, check them out!
Voodoo Bayou was an absolute vibe from start to finish! The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of energy without feeling overwhelming — perfect for a date night or dinner with friends and family. The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The food was AMAZING. The chicken and waffles were perfectly cooked, crispy, flavorful, and balanced with just the right sweetness. The oysters were fresh and delicious, and you could really tell the quality was there. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor. The drinks were on point too well-crafted, refreshing, and beautifully presented. You can tell the bar staff knows what they’re doing. Overall, this place delivers great food, great service, and a great experience. Definitely one of those restaurants you leave already planning your next visit. Highly recommend!
Came here Monday night and absolutely loved it. I’m all about a good vibe, and this place nailed it. The atmosphere and décor are super cool and really set the mood. The food was great and totally enjoyable. The host at the door was amazing — friendly, welcoming, and informative. Our server was great too. Overall, such a good experience all around. Definitely would come back!
Great food, great location and a cool venue make this a place to try! They have a New Orleans themed menu with all the classics that you would hope to find. The fried chicken was tasty, the cornbread was delicious and the beignets were a great way to top off the meal! They also have a kids menu and our daughters enjoyed their food as well. Service was friendly and our food came out quickly. The venue is really well themed and has both indoor and outdoor seating.
Coming here on Valentine’s Day was really special. The drinks were all so good; the Pimp Chalice and Snake oil salesman were def my fav and you have to try their cornbread! My gf and I both got a ribeye and the temps were perfect and so delicious! Of course you can’t leave without trying their beignets! A really nice touch making them heart shaped on Valentine’s Day <3
Voodoo Bayou was a great experience from start to finish. The place feels like stepping into the mystic French Quarter, with a unique atmosphere that really sets the mood. The food was delicious, full of flavor, and clearly well prepared. What we appreciated most is how great they were with our kids, welcoming, patient, and attentive, which made the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable for the entire family. Definitely a spot we’d be happy to visit again.
Super unique. Absolutely delicious gourmet and refined food but from scratch, down to Earth and creative. Tyler is the heart of this place. He has tremendous talent and passion for people and food and experience in the mixture that he brings to this location is one of the reasons why you should go there . Make sure to interact with him while you are there. He really brings the specialty and uniqueness to this place full circle by making sure it's integrated into your experience. They have three locations but they have stuff you'll never see elsewhere like an Elvira mug for one of the drinks, a pistol for a beer tap, a huge block of ice stamped and smoking, a black magic lemonade with embers glowing from a stem of rosemary. Combine that with great upbeat music , sports games for viewing, and absolutely unique and incredible dishes. With an unbelievable crawfish etouffee. If you love that dish then this is your place. Also some incredible events featuring specific things like prime rib on Thursday, or Wednesday night wood fired oysters with Chili Butter, or Smoked Wings on Tuesday. This is the place I make sure to hit to regularly, but also to celebrate my birthday because it just has so many fantastic and fun things that I absolutely love. Not too many places that literally have completely different dishes that are phenomenal. This place will not disappoint.
The chicken and biscuits were so good—comfort food done right. One of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had, and the hurricane was great too. Dominic was the perfect server: knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely helpful with the menu. And smelled amazing g. An all-around fantastic experience—can’t wait to come back!
I loved this place!! We went for our anniversary and the decor was standout fabulous. The vibe was cool, the entertainer singing was really great. The service was immediate and the food was bomb. Had the deviled eggs & barbecue shrimp for starters. Great flavor, perfectly seasoned, shrimp plump & juicy. Then wifey had the salmon for dinner I had the shrimp & crawfish etoufee. Again great flavor and food tasted fresh. Then for dessert the beignets, they were fire! I'm chilling out with the drinling so no cocktails for me but they looked great. Just loved the vibe and had a great night.
Man oh man I wish I had come here for dinner to try the menu. The staff there were all great and vibes were on point! I loved the drinks. I can only imagine what they would do with the presentation of their food items. There's definitely plenty of room in this establishment for a good time - 2 floors each with bars and tables. If you're a Gothic /woowoo girly- this is a must stop lol 🫶🖤
I was shocked by how good everything tasted! I really enjoyed the cocktail "The Mistress", a little tart and not overly sweet. It was the best corn bread I have ever had, paired with the butter. The wings were flavourful but not as tender as I would like. Some parts were not able to pull away from the bones at all.
Came here for birthday dinner and couldn’t have had a better experience! We noticed the great atmosphere as soon as we walked in. Our waitress was friendly and had great recs. For apps, you cannot go wrong with the cornbread with maple butter and the stuffed mac&cheese. If you love chicken and waffles like I do, you won’t be disappointed! It was probably the best i’ve ever had. Overall experience was AMAZING!
Came here for the first time Sunday and love it so much brought 8 more people back with me on Wednesday. All raved about it (I knew they would) Be sure to order: - NOLA BBQ shrimp (and ask for a spoon and extra bread so you can enjoy every drop of that sauce l) - Cornbread - Gumbo ya ya - this is authentic creole gumbo - felt like I was in “south of I-10” Cajun country One request: please consider opening one of these in Ft Myers
Came here for vacation from Clearwater and it was AMAZING. Danny took great care of us! Fast service, delicious food, extravagant atmosphere- there’s something everywhere to look at. Thank you so much! 💕
Amazing food, drinks and dessert! The beignets are too die for and would be great for sharing! Shout out too my server Dominic for making great Voodoo Child drinks!!
Our server Phoebe was exceptional, making recommendations and being incredibly attentive throughout our meal. We dine frequently in Fort Lauderdale, and while Las Olas restaurants often lack the best service, we decided to give this one a try. To our surprise, Phoebe exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, and we had a wonderful time.

The red beans and rice comes with andouilee. It is the answer to every problem, disease, or mistake imaginable. If you ever dreamed of flying? Try the collards. You will soar. I cannot say enough positive things about this place. Just fun!!!
Great spot for people watching on the balcony and great food. Me and friendly split the Cheddar cornbread waffle and half a chicken! I expected more seasoning on the chicken but it was juicy, crispy and hot! Fast service on a busy Friday night. We left before the band at 930pm.
On a stroll down Las Olas for my birthday and my wife and I stumbled upon Voodoo Bayou. Phabie was an absolute joy from seating to finish. Her recommendations were spot on and I’m a picky eater. I ordered all the things she recommended including the alcohol and she did not disappoint. The vibe was nice. We sat in a corner upstairs where it was a bit more quieter. Great experience overall.
Amazing! We had a great night. Our waitress was the absolute best (I’m sorry I don’t remember her name!) Biscuits were delicious. And all the food as well. We had a great night! Live music, awesome service, amazing food, and great ambiance. What else can you ask for?? 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Calaveras Cantina sent me here and no disappointments were incurred! Definetly the coolest spot in a bland neighborhood. I hope to try the redfish next time. Thank you to all involved.
Not only was I in love with the decor and aura of Voodoo Bayou, but my server, Ramon, helped me select 3 OUTSTANDING menu items! I started with the fried green tomatoes (my absolute favorite), then had Jambalaya (tasted better as leftovers), and ended my night with Beignets (the heavenliest dessert). I took pictures, but this phones camera is not the best.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Voodoo Bayou is a MUST for Brunch on Las Olas! Today my friend and I had brunch at Voodoo Bayou in Fort Lauderdale, and I can confidently say this is one of the best brunch spots on Las Olas Boulevard. From the moment we walked in, everything was perfect , the service, the cleanliness, the atmosphere ,all 10 out of 10. Our server, Rome, was outstanding. He was fast, efficient, courteous, and so genuinely friendly. His constant smile truly elevated the experience. The music was incredible , such a vibe! For about 20 minutes, the whole place was alive with dancing and energy. Honestly, I wish they kept the music going all day because it completely transformed the atmosphere. It felt like vacation in New Orleans! Now the food , phenomenal. I ordered the redfish, and my friend had the jambalaya , both bursting with flavor. The deviled eggs were okay, but the baguettes were fresh and the desserts were absolutely delicious. If you love Southern and Cajun-inspired cuisine, this place will not disappoint. This is also a prime people-watching location, right in the heart of one of the most popular shopping and dining areas in town. The décor is Instagram-worthy, with both upstairs and downstairs seating, cozy booths, and vibrant design elements that make you want to take pictures in every corner. If you’re traveling to Fort Lauderdale or looking for a fun brunch destination on Las Olas, put Voodoo Bayou at the top of your list. My only suggestion — keep the music going from open to close! Other than that, flawless experience. Highly recommend — 5 stars!
If you’re looking for a little taste & feel New Orleans you’ve got it here! I come strictly for the chili butter oysters & cornbread. The oysters are fresh every time & taste amazing. The are cleaned properly as well an accompanied with mini pieces of toast. The corn bread is big enough for 2-3 people to share and is nicely sweet without being too over powering. They fry their wings hard, so if that isn’t your thing (like me) maybe pass, but my sister loves them. There is literally nothing in the menu that I have tried and not liked. Shrimp & grits were okay (NOLA does it better of course) & their chicken thigh dish is finger licking good. The staff is asked attentive and friendly (shout out Phabie for all the tasty recommendations & 5 star experience). Their happy hour specials are pretty hard to bet too! The ambience gives dan and mysterious in a tasteful way, and the bar has pretty much every beverage you could possibly think of.
Lunch was delicious. The food was tasty and the service was amazing. Emily made sure my husband I were happy. I'll definitely be back soon.
I can’t say enough good things about my experience at VooDoo Bayou! From the moment we walked in, the cool, laid-back vibe had us feeling right at home. The staff was super friendly, and our waitress, Flavia, was top-notch—she really made the whole experience even better. We started with the deviled eggs topped with caviar—*wow*, such a unique and delicious twist! The fried green tomatoes were next, and honestly, they were hands down the best I’ve ever had. You wouldn’t even know they were fried, they were that perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside. Then came the jambalaya, which was bursting with flavor—spicy, savory, and oh-so-satisfying. Now, I never order chicken when I’m dining out, but I was *so* glad I took a chance on the roasted chicken here—it was *incredible*. Moist, tender, and packed with flavor—seriously the best chicken I’ve had in a while. The collard greens were seasoned to perfection, and let’s not forget the croissant bread pudding for dessert. I could’ve eaten the whole thing, it was that good! All in all, this place is an absolute gem, and I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!
First time here and I have to say the food is amazing. But what made the trip was Phabie. She went above and beyond as a server. She helped me with my allergy and navigating the menu. Phabie was truly one of the best servers I have had and I suggest you ask for her on your next visit. The deviled eggs are a must get as well!
I had the absolute pleasure of being served by Phabie, and let me tell you—she’s a total gem! From the moment we sat down, she was personable, funny, and so relatable—it felt like we were catching up with an old friend. Phabie didn’t just take our order—she created an experience. She was attentive without hovering, always one step ahead of our needs, and her energy truly elevated our time there. You can tell she takes pride in what she does because she goes above and beyond in the best way. If you’re lucky enough to have Phabie as your waitress, get ready for great service and even better vibes. She’s an absolute star!
What a fantastic restaurant! The atmosphere is spot on, the food is imaginative and extremely tasty, the service was excellent and the bar extensive! From the hosts at the door to the manager, they are all friendly and attentive. 'Dea' was our server and she was delightful. 6 were in our party and all loved their food/bar choices! This will be our 1st choice for eating when back on Las Olas Blvd!
Took 10 friends here for a wonderful evening of dinner and drinks. They serve up some classic cocktails with their extensive bottle collection and I started off with a 1792 on the rocks! We split the marvelous Deviled Eggs for an appetizer then I had the Large Gumbo for dinner. There is a nice Cajun heat factor going on, so it got the sweat going just the way I like it. Our server, Nada A, kept us all in line and truly did a fantastic job. We highly recommend Voodoo Bayou and can't wait to come back!
That happy hour was to die for! Tony the bartender was amazing. The old fashioned was done right, the gator bites were great, and the wings crushed it. Easy top pick for happy hour in the area. Atmosphere was amazing as well
We were there for my husband's birthday and the food was excellent! We had stuffed mac and cheese, fried chicken and waffles, fried chicken and biscuits, fried chicken sandwich, cornbread and étouffée, which were all sooo good!! Our server was Greg who was an excellent server. His customer service was exceptional! He was attentive and very engaging treating us as if we were regular clients. We will definitely be back!
We’ve walked past this restaurant so many times, and we’re so glad we finally decided to stop in — what a pleasant surprise! Our server, Emily, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the menu, making our first visit feel extra special. We both ordered the jambalaya, and on her recommendation, added a crab cake on top — a delicious touch! The flavors were spot on and instantly took me back to my first trip to New Orleans. The portion was generous, perfectly seasoned, and so satisfying that I had to take the rest home. We also couldn’t resist grabbing some bread pudding to go. An overall wonderful experience — we’ll definitely be back!
First of all, this restaurant is eye catching. It was my first time here. The vibe, staff, service and food beat my expectations. I had Greg and Emily as waiters. If I said their employee performance was outstanding that would be an understatement. They were nice, welcoming, engaging and easy to communicate with while ordering. If I needed anything they weren’t bothered to assist. I appreciate them and the restaurant as well.
Yummy! I have died and honestly to food heaven. Good food, good music. I want to eat everything. Cuidado mis amigos the drinks are strong and good. I love some good creole food and this place did not disappoint. The staff is very attentive and they had live music on the night we came. Best biscuits I have had in a long time from a restaurant.
One of the best restaurants l've been in a long time! I came in for the first time on a Friday night to take my mom out for a birthday dinner. There's only street parking so make sure you arrive early if you have reservations to avoid any issues as parking can be challenging. To start the decoration was fantastic both floors have a gothic / New Orleans vibes to it. Our server was fantastic and the manager stops at every table. To drink we had the Saint ballencourt and the mistress. Both drinks came in a cute cup and they were delicious. (Both drinks came very cool for pictures) To start we had the cornbread and the gator tail. The bread was so fluffy and light and the gator was packed with flavor and not funky. For main I had the red fish with veggies and my mom had the ribeye. Both dishes were absolutely perfect. For dessert we had a croissant bread pudding which was also fantastic. Overall is an expensive visit but so worth it.
Mariana, was an amazing server. She had great conversations with us, kept the food and bottomless mimosas coming. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at this restaurant. The service is outstanding just like the food. We ordered the shrimp and grits, steak and eggs, and standard breakfast.
🌟 A Must-Visit Gem on Las Olas! I had an incredible experience at Voodoo Bayou! From the moment I walked in, the vibrant atmosphere and Southern-inspired decor set the tone for a memorable evening. The food was absolutely delicious—rich flavors, generous portions, and beautifully presented. What truly made the night special was our server, Emily. She was attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had a great time. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she made us feel welcome from start to finish. It's rare to find someone who brings both professionalism and warmth to the table like she did. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food, great vibes, and outstanding service. Ask for Emily—you won’t be disappointed!
I had such a wonderful experience here! The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. What really made my visit special was the outstanding service. Phabie went above and beyond to make my birthday feel memorable. She was warm, attentive, and truly made me feel celebrated. I couldn’t have asked for better service or a better dining experience. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this spot to friends and family!
Phabie was our waitress the second time we’ve gone to the restaurant and she’s fantastic. Very attentive and her attention to detail helps her to often anticipate what the customer needs. She’s a great addition to the team. The food is amazing as always. This time I had the crab cakes Benedict from their brunch menu. Will be coming back again and I highly recommended their food. Ask for Phabie. She’s amazing!
The food here was absolutely incredible!!! I had the gumbo, biscuits, and oysters. Roman was our server and he was very nice and attentive. Each bite was a glimpse of heaven. I can’t wait to come back and I will absolutely recommend this restaurant to everyone! Amazing cocktails as well.
Excellent food and exceptional service! We stopped in not expecting much but wow, what an experience! Greg our server was FANTASTIC and so informative and polite. The food was great, totally recommend the bread pudding. Other bars cannot even be compared to Voodoo; if you love craft cocktails that are truly unique and fabulous this is the place to go. We definitely will be back!
Voodoo Bayou was absolutely incredible! The the food is packed with flavor, and everything from start to finish felt special. Our server, Roman, made the experience unforgettable—attentive, personable, and full of great recommendations that really elevated our meal. If you’re looking for amazing food and top-notch service, Voodoo Bayou is a must-visit!
Best biscuits I've ever had with a honey butter and jelly sauce. May be homemade. It was delicious. Happy hour is from 4-7pm. Great deals. They have an elevator for the 2nd floor if you're unable to use the stairs. It's an open view to the 1st floor. Very nicely decorated . Good service . Must go!
We had a pleasant brunch outside while the weather has been cooler. We started with the bottomless mimosas and the gator tails. The drinks did not taste watered down like bottomless sometimes can; the gator was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Emily was our server and was very attentive checking on us regularlyand make sure our drinks were always full. The baked eggs sardou and crawfish Benedict were delicious and everything came out hot. We were too full for desert so we opted to take monkey bread home which Phabea brought out with a smile; we were told it was going to be removed from the menu soon so we were glad we were able to try it before it was gone. There is an 18% gratuity added which we were informed of as soon as the menus came out so there was no surprise when we received the check. We'll be back for sure.
My first visit, I had a blast with the bottomless mimosas for lunch and gator bites. I had such a fun time I had to go again. My second visit with a larger group for dinner was even better. Our waiter was nice. The live music, both the first and second time, is always a great addition to the environment. I made sure to check their website the second trip to ensure there would be live music, and I'd definitely come back. Every entree for dinner was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is spooky and dark, a fun spot to be in that makes you feel you're transported to a Halloween swamp with Cajun flavors, live music, and one of the only places I've seen that's Louisiana-themed with delicious beignets. I can't wait to go back again.
I ate with friends at there location in Palm Beach Gardens earlier this week and absolutely loved it. Went online to make reservations tonight and realized they had a location right here in town. Not disappointed - great food and service, both locations! Now I can get a pretty good rendition of Louisiana cooking with out flying to NOLA for a couple days.
I ate here a few days ago and am still thinking about the beignets and Marianna’s great service. She showed me the best way to have them with caramel ice cream. What a charmer. The chicken sandwich was delicious. You can tell they use high quality ingredients and some New Orleans culinary expertise. Stevie Ray Vaughan in the background. And the manager was super active and cares a lot. One of the best restaurants on Los olas. And the st. Vally drink always slaps.
The service from Mariana was excellent. We ended up at this restaurant because we reserved outdoor seating at a different restaurant and there was a flash flood warning. I am so grateful for the flash flood warning! The food is amazing. Everything was excellent. And being from the south, I can attest the taste is authentic. I think if you’re in Fort Lauderdale and near Las Olas Blvd., you have to stop in. try the stuffed macaroni and cheese and the cornbread.
Despite the large crowd due to Valentine's Day, our server, Jill, remained professional and composed, providing excellent service from start to finish. The food exceeded our expectations and is something I would highly recommend to anyone. A big thank you to the chef as well for the amazing dishes!
This place is by far outstanding in customer service and the food is amazing. I definitely rate them a 5 star. We tried the Blanton's Private Barrel Old Fashion very smooth and delicious. I commend our server Carlos R. for the outstanding service and recommendations he made. They had a live band that were fabulous definitely will come back.
I was attended by Roman and he was absolutely amazing! Such a nice guy with excellent customer service skills. He was patient, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. You can really tell he cares about customers and making sure they leave happy. Truly one of the best experiences I’ve had—thank you Roman!
Stopped in for a drink at the bar. Kevin was our bartender and he was awesome, his service was all around amazing from making great cocktails to talking with us. He brought such a great vibe that allowed our group to have such a great time on Las Olas Blvd during our one night stay. Totally will come back to Voodoo Bayou and hope that Kevin is there doing what he does best!
This place is going to capture you. Celebrate your life with others you care about. Or anyone for that matter. It is just ridiculously great. The corn bread is a national treasure. The red beans and rice comes with andouilee. It is the answer to every problem, disease, or mistake imaginable. If you ever dreamed of flying? Try the collards. You will soar. I cannot say enough positive things about this place. Just fun!!!
Went here for a friend's birthday party!! We had Fhabie and Flavia as our attendants for the party. Fhabie was AMAZING!!!! If there was a management position for what she does, she should definitely get it! She was very attentive, addressed all the needs and questions we had, and made the dinner party fun!!!

Voodoo Bayou in Las Olas impresses with its stunning Louisiana décor, crafted through thoughtful lighting and design choices. The restaurant efficiently manages large crowds without compromising on attentive service. The brussels sprouts, fried green tomatoes, and pork belly appetizers are rich in flavor, while the ribeye entrée is expertly prepared. The themed cocktails round out a refined dining experience — highly recommended for both food and atmosphere.
this place has a great atmosphere, yummy cocktails and the decorations are so cute! we went for date night on a friday and there was even live music. definitely planning to return. staff was super friendly too. Danielle was our server and she was awesome, very personable and attentive so ask for her if you can :)
Nikki and John took me and Marisol out for my Birthday Dinner! Nikki and John pick VooDoo Bayou which I didn’t think I would like but I actually Loved this place! The different food and textures that I had never eaten were amazing! Green Fried Tomatoes, Mac and Cheese like No other I ever had! Nikki had Mac and Cheese like No other, Nikki had Mac and Cheese like No other, John had Gumbalia and Green Fried Tomatoes, Marisol had Roasted Chicken and I had the Crab Cake! Everything was delicious! The waitress was from Wildwood, New Jersey 30 minutes away from where we live. She knows my Friends Pat the Piecer from Somers Point, NJ and Brian Cassidy from Killing Sword Tattoos in Wildwood, NJ!
We went to celebrate Galantine Day and our waitress was great! Her recommendations were on point! I wasn’t too crazy about the gator bites, not that they weren’t good. It was just too many onions! I enjoyed my steak, well seasoned and I enjoyed my banana pudding (first time having it)! The live band makes the restaurant even better!
Fun spot that adds a lot of personality to the area! Highlights: good flavor to the jambalaya, really excellent biscuits. Fried chicken was good, really appreciated that it’s bone in chicken. Hiccups: beignets were a little greasy inside, but the overall flavor was ok. I also wish that the drink menu had more Nola classics. It’s a stunning bar design with a lot of options, but I found myself missing the Nola staple drinks. Friendly, attentive service and a fun design to the space. I’d definitely stop by again to try more of their Creole energy dishes.

The food was bland and fresh. I had the fried chicken with biscuit. The biscuit was really good. The fried chicken was crispy but had no seasoning. The spicy honey added flavour but not enough. My sister had the crab cake and chicken wings. It was filled with crab but also not seasoned. Some lime would go a long way with both the crab cakes and wings. With that typed, I did enjoy the atmosphere and would return with others. Just add some seasoning to the food please
We were anticipating the opening! Loved the food and LOVED the atmosphere (purple leopard chairs)!!! The only issues we had were with the sweetness levels of the sweet tea and that our server got missing for a while. (The server) we felt he may have been shy/timid with us. But anyhow, the decor is amazing hands down. Would’ve loved to enjoy the upstairs, we’ll definitely be stopping by again soon! The food taste so fresh On another note, I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for 15plus years, I like the postings they have at the table that acknowledge the service crew and the amount their paid. This needs to become the bare minimum across the industry. Good job on that.
Everything here was amazing. We went for V-Day, and I feel like they could have offered something a little better than a heart-shaped banana 🤣 but.. lol. The Gator tail was absolutely fantastic, and the cornbread was sweet and moist. The only other issue its not a lot to offer . Also, if you like strong drink that still taste good, they have you covered 😉 .
An interesting and different type of restaurant compared to what you usually will find in Fort Lauderdale. They have a really cool ambience and decoration and the whole thing has an interesting Vibe and bathrooms. It definitely has some interesting cocktail selections like interesting mixes of spirits and other juices. The food is fine but it could be considered a little overpriced. I had the waffle and chicken and it was okay, the batter could've had more seasoning to be Cajun. but the cornmeal waffles had really good taste !
Mariana was fantastic, she was very informative with entree information.. i have a severe shrimp allergy so definitely needed the info! Definitely ask for her! The atmosphere was amazing! Definitely try the baked chicken and collards... the deviled eggs with caviar and buttermilk cornbread with maple butter! The Voodoo smoked old fashioned was amazing and the Espresso Martini with Beignet!

Here is my review on Voodoo Bayou. The evening started great the hostess was really friendly and sat us upstairs, when I asked. Once we got sat our server Fabie was super friendly and made amazing suggestions. We started with some Apps. We had the Deviled Eggs (A Must), The stuffed Mac & Chz & the Famous Cornbread. For dinner I had the suggest of Fabie which was the Redfish and the Shrimp & Grits which was everything I wanted and she suggested how to get that without ordering two extra dishes, super awesome. The live band was FABULOUS the guys really do a great job on the selection of music they play. The reason I gave Food a 4 star is my two friends I was with were happy with the food they got but wanted other options. The service I rated a 4 star as well as Fabie was super friendly and amazing however, she was so busy with a situation that occurred at another table that other staff had to help her with our table. I gave the Atmosphere 5 stars cause this place really is a vibe, the music the decor is all really awesome. I will for sure be back and recommend this place if your in the Las Olas area.
Voodoo Bayou My friends were in town so we were looking for a nice upbeat restaurant to grab a really good bite to eat. Unfortunately, Voodoo Bayou has really let us down. Let’s start with what was done right. We called to make reservations and Athena, answered the phone really politely and was able to accommodate a time change. The hostess who greeted us - (I think Her name was Valerie) was very sweet, and communicative however she told us 5 minutes when the wait was really 15 minutes, I would’ve preferred her to over estimate than to under. Upon seating, we were given menus and explained how it works, being that this was our first time I really appreciated this! Unfortunately, it took 15 minutes for our waitress Marianna to come to the table so another waitress had to come and give us waters. Once she did come she only put the napkins under our water and didn’t ask if we were ready to order, adding to this already sour experience. We would’ve appreciated her telling us she’s really busy - this did happen, but only after we ordered appetizers. Now, our food did come out very very fast as did our drinks. For drinks I ordered the Black Magic Lemonade, and my friends ordered the Hurricane. All of these drinks were AMAZING and looked great! For appetizers, we did a whole bunch, just to share- gator bites, fried oysters, oysters rockefeller, stuffed mac and cheese, and the barbecue shrimp. I have to say the only real tasty item was the oysters. Also, we did have to wait a while for sharing plates and the table was really small for a party of four ordering a lot, so be mindful. Service did start to get better as our food was being delivered. For the mains, two in our party got the Cajun Carbonara with added shrimp and steak. This was okay, the noodles were overcooked and our added meats weren’t nothing to lose sleep over. Another one ordered the Cajun Salmon and it was raw in the middle. They were apologetic and offered a new dish to compensate but at that point we were over it. We did get a free Banana bread pudding which they hardly enjoyed as I was not in the mood to be disappointed further. Overall, the only thing phenomenal about this place is the decor, live music, drinks, and oysters. We would return during happy hour for drinks and the vibes and absolutely sit at the bar. For the disappointment we faced, we all agreed it wouldn’t be worth it to pay full price again.
Severely overpriced for above average food. I walked in around 3:15 PM on Sunday and sat down immediately. The restaurant is very beautifully decorated and has a mysterious, voodoo, Halloween, Gothic vibe, which is really cool. I ordered a gumbo and a jambalaya. Obviously I saw the prices as soon as I got there, but I wasn’t gonna leave. A small gumbo was $13 and a medium sized jambalaya was $34. I had no alcohol or soda or any dessert or anything else and I ended up paying with 20% service = $60. The portions were average-sized. Not sure why everything was so expensive. The gumbo was very good, but the jambalaya was below average. If you had real jambalaya, you know this was not it. Also, if you read the reviews, lotsssss of fake 5 star reviews. Can’t recommend nor will I come back.

Dear Voodoo Bayou Management, I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding how my New Year’s Eve reservation was handled this evening. My party of two made a reservation in advance through OpenTable for cocktails and dinner prior to our scheduled comedy show. Unfortunately, I was contacted only one hour and fifteen minutes before our reservation time and informed that Voodoo Bayou does not reserve bar seating and that OpenTable had allegedly made a mistake. Given that this is New Year’s Eve, canceling a reservation at the last minute—especially for out-of-town guests—is extremely unprofessional. I followed proper protocol by reserving ahead of time for a specific date and time that is now nearly impossible to rebook elsewhere on such short notice. What made the situation even more disappointing was that the host offered no alternative accommodation, other than suggesting we drive to the restaurant and “see if” bar seating became available. We are staying in Deerfield Beach, approximately 45 minutes away, and are visiting from out of town. This is not a reasonable or respectful solution under the circumstances. We were genuinely looking forward to dining at Voodoo Bayou, particularly because one member of our party is a New Orleans native and was excited to experience your restaurant. Having our plans disrupted due to an internal or system error—so close to the reservation time—was incredibly frustrating. I hope management will review this situation seriously, as it reflects poorly on the guest experience, especially during a major holiday. I would appreciate a response acknowledging this issue and explaining how situations like this are handled to prevent future guests from experiencing the same inconvenience. Thank you for your time and attention. Sincerely, Torea Lanett
My friend and i were so excited to go to this place. We went last year and saw a great band and we planned our whole night around seeing the band. I paid for the first round with $100 bill then, she got the second round and we thought we had enough for her to not break another $100 but we didn’t so we broke another $100. When almost done with the second drink the manager came over and told us not one but the two bills were counterfeit. They didn’t have a pen behind the bar to check those and he just appeared out of nowhere with no pen telling us that something was wrong on the bills. We paid in 20’s and settled up and we’re so disheartened by the whole situation we left. We then went to a favorite Italian place where we gave the girl the same $100 bill and asked her to check if it was valid. Then we checked the two others that we had in our purse both which were valid with the yellow mark that you get when you use a counterfeit pen, which is what they should’ve been doing at the bar if they were concerned about two women using hundred dollar bills. It’s certainly not illegal to pay in Cash by the way! Again nothing was checked when we handed in the bills, It’s Fort Lauderdale if you’re concerned about counterfeit money, you should be checking hundred dollar bill bills when you give them to the bartender. The manager came over after the fact with two $100 bills that we don’t even know were ours at that point and again made us feel like criminals. We will NEVER be going back to this bar!
