The food and presentation were absolutely excellent everything was generous and full of flavor. Owner and chef Can, along with the staff, were incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Our guests were impressed with the warm atmosphere, which perfectly reflects Turkish hospitality and culture. It’s definitely our favorite place we’ll be back again soon and highly recommend it to everyone!

Popped in for a little coffee and tea, and I can’t wait to come back and try all the food. Everything sounded delicious, the atmosphere and service were wonderful, and the Turkish coffee and Turkish tea were fantastic

The food was good. The dolma that was hidden on the appetizer sampler, and it only came with one, was superb. Most of the time, you get tough leaves wrapping mush. Gross. This one was a soft leaf wrapping up a balance of textures, while still soft was not mushy. The flavor was perfect. Hint of mint and a good amount of sweet to offset the more earthy grain and herb flavors. I don't like talking about flavors and textures, but this was absolutely the best dolma I've ever had. I wanted more. The different dips were good, but I should have finished on the dolma. Hard to top perfect. The spanakopita was good, but my only criticism, and I don't think I'm really competent to criticize, because they may have meant this and I just wasn't getting it, but the crust was not dry leaf crispy, fall apart by looking at it too hard kind of crispy my ignorance demands a spinach pie should have. I would have liked a crispier pastry. It was still tasty, but the lack of crispiness was distracting. The calf liver... I'm not sure how to describe this experience. I'm one of the few folks that genuinely likes the taste of liver. When I get liver, I want to taste liver. Let me start by saying it was good. I finished all of it. It was not bad or even mediocre. It was good. However, the flavor of the lover was somehow muted. I don't know how they did it, but the texture was perfect, the smell was great, and when I took the first bite, I was expecting an explosion of the soft, supple lover explosion I'm used to getting when I make liver. Instead, I got a perfectly textured mildly seasoned oneself.that reminded one of the taste of liver in a subtle way. I was disappointed with the lack of robust liver flavor, but that's just me. Most times you get the opposite - overpowering liver funk that is like eating suede shoe leather. This was lover for people who probably don't like liver. Maybe liver for folks who want to get their feet wet. Everything was good if not excellent. The staff was very nice, very helpful, and very attentive. She even helped me.understand how to get the awesome foam on Turkish coffee. It's an art, and I had no idea how much of an art until.she told me.about young Turkish girls being taught how to make the coffee. Ask about it, it's an interesting story. Everything about the place was charming, and I look forward to trying more dishes there. The atmosphere was very laid back, quiet, and clean. It is a very good place to have a nice dining experience. The dolma, though... That's the highlight. They're usually always so mushy, bland, or bitter at other places. They're not worth getting most of the time at other places. This one (I emphasize one because they really should put more on there) at this place seemed more congenial, less jaded with the world and fresh faced, ready to face life and all its possibilities. Food that surprises and pleases you like this makes you excited about life.

We have eaten at this place a number of times. The food is really good with a nice calm atmosphere and warm decor. The most recent time was last week with our son and girlfriend from California. The place was busy but they managed to do their best taking care of all the customers with ease and seemingly without complaint. A few days later we discovered my wife's wallet was missing from her purse and we traced our steps but after 5 days we still had not located it. Late on Sunday 2 men showed up at our door with her wallet. WOW what a shock it was! But then maybe not. They were the 2 guys served us at our table so gracefully under so much duress. They were so kind and -- BTW that trip was the second attempt to find us at home as we were away celebrating my wife's BD the night before! What a great crew. We shall spread this goodwill to everyone we know and most importantly return to the restaurant for the great food and atmosphere, especially my wife's favorite ----the lentil bean soup. Thanks for restoring our faith in humanity. Tom

We finally tried this place and we were not disappointed at all.. The service was impeccable. Very nice and friendly people working there. We are persian but we had our honeymoon for one month in Turkey in 2001 so turkish food has always been a special delight for us. My husband got the trio kebab. All three were succulent and flavorful. I got the stuffed cabbage and it was superb. We will definitely be back.

This hidden gem in Fort Worth Southside is simply perfect. The ambient lighting, wood panel interior with carpets on display brings you to a peaceful place. After a night at the Modern, viewing David Parks opening show, dinner at The Flying Carpet was a truly magical experience. Thanks to the waitstaff and chef for creating such a special place. We literally felt like we were inside a scene from Aladdin. Great job here.

Absolutely wonderful experience eating here. It's a more quiet and relaxed atmosphere with polite and friendly but not overly energetic or loud staff like you sometimes experience at restaurants. I personally love that. Completely blown away by the food. I had the dolma and falafel platter, both were excellent. I think I'm used to a thicker falafel but loved how crispy these were as they were a little thinner. The coffee was great as well, I'd love to visit this restaurant again. $15 to $25 entrees, some of the best food I've had in quite some time.

After spending day at Fort Worth Zoo, we were hungry and found this place not far with plenty of Parking. We really liked the Kofte Kabab and chicken kabab platters (but not so much chicken Adana kabab). Ambience is good and customer service is excellent and offered us complementary dessert and tea and provided prompt service. I recommend this place.

I visited The Flying Carpet Turkish Restaurant on 11/22/25, and it was such a lovely experience. The restaurant is intimate, pretty, and cozy, the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay and enjoy every moment. The staff was warm and attentive, and the food was absolutely amazing. Parking was free and easy, which made the visit even better. We will definitely be back.

Waitress was a treat and very happy to give recommendations. Decor was awesome, and the food was very well spiced. I went with some Lamb, and then finished up with a Turkish coffee, no sugar. I loved it all and found it to be worth the money, but it was a bit on the pricey side (if only but a few dollars). Tempted to go here, do it!

My girlfriend lived in Turkey for 13 years. The food was the best Turkish food in the DFW region. The food was incredibly fresh and the staff was so friendly. My girlfriend started crying at one point because it was all so nostalgic. If you are looking for true Turkish dishes, great ambience without a doubt this place is a great date night.

I originally went for the coffee, but looking at the menu, I just had to try the food. I had the eggplant delight (w/lamb), and it was delicious, tender, and full of flavor. I also had the lentil soup, and it was okay, I prefer a yellow or green lentil over the red. The bread, humus, and pistachio baclava were delightful! I will definitely go back and try other items.

I was looking for a local restaurant that was open on Christmas Day and fortunately found this wonderful restaurant. The food was top notch and the service was even better. Drove all the way from Garland for a fun day trip to Fort Worth and had dinner here - I am officially obsessed and can’t wait to come back. We ordered Baba ghanoush (comes with delicious homemade bread), glasses of white wine from Türkiye, Kofte kebab, and oven baked lamb shank. I haven’t had true Turkish food since I visited Türkiye in 2022 and honestly this was on par if not better than some of the places I ate at over there 🤣😜 We got the Turkish coffee and kunefe (sweet cheese desert) at the end. This place is such a vibe!! Delicious food and great service.

My family had a truly fantastic dinner here. We enjoyed incredible food in a cozy, inviting atmosphere with top-notch service. The staff even sent us home with extra baklava after learning that we were in town for a family member’s funeral — and this was some of the best baklava we’ve ever had. Flying Carpet will definitely become a go-to spot whenever we’re in Fort Worth.

Strongly recommend this restaurant for anyone interested in Mediterranean food. The atmosphere of this restaurant is amazing, very cozy and perfect for enjoying good conversation. The food and service were amazing. Location is great as you’re in the heart of magnolia and can enjoy a walk afterwards. If you’re going on a weekend I’d recommend making reservations in advance. Most importantly, make sure to leave room for dessert and Turkish coffee. I will definitely be returning!

Cozy setting in an otherwise busy area with colorful and unique decor , warm and courteous staff and owners (Can K has become a friend mine), absolutely mouth-watering, flavorful and authentic food. Lamp chops are special on certain days only but they were better than any steakhouse I'd been to. I would come back here a 100 times.

Phenomenal experience! We happened to be walking by looking for a place to eat and saw this unique historical home converted into a restaurant. We figured, why not? The interior is an eyeball extravaganza. Rugs, color, patterns, etc. All kinds of fun objects everywhere. The bathroom was one of the coolest and quirkiest bathrooms I've ever been in. I don't think I've ever taken a picture of a public restroom before. Haha The staff was so attentive. It's a BYOB service so I ran across the street to the liquor store and got a bottle of wine and came back. They were happy to open it. We took a risk and just guessed as to what to order and were pleasantly surprised that we had chosen so well. I've actually been to Turkey and the restaurant had a similar vibe and felt very authentic without being over the top or cheesy. The bus boy was busting his chops cleaning and running around as they were getting close to closing and we were lagging behind enjoying our wine and conversation. I slipped him a $20 and told him to keep up the great work. He was so gracious and even offered to take our picture for us. Overall, this was an extremely pleasant experience. We live down the street from it and we can't wait to return.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Our family of 6 adults shared the family platter (meant to serve 4). The meats, rice, hummus, and pita bread were all wonderful. I attached a pic of the family platter as I couldn't find one in the reviews (hummus and pita not pictured).

Delicious! Definitely start with the Turkish hot tea. Then get a cold sampler- hummus and tabuleah salad were my faves. Then we got the lamb chops and the trio kebabs. The salads that came with them were so fresh. Everything was so good and the ambiance of the restaurant was so nice. This place is amazing and should be packed! A plus- great parking!

I loved the food! I've been hearing about this spot for a while and finally made time to go try it, and I am happy to find a new place that has wonderful food and great service. Our waiter (Omar I think) was very Johnny on the spot and our water glass was never empty. We're heading back next weekend with our husbands to share the love. Really great authentic food. Parking was easy on Saturday just FYI.

If you enjoy Mediterranean cuisine you will love their menu. If you haven't you will. We came in between lunch and dinner and enjoyed it very much. I loved the Pink Sultan appetizer because I love roasted beets and had never heard of this dip. The bread served with it was clearly made with care and paired perfectly. They have a wine list, and it looked very interesting but the server didn't mention wine beyond giving us the list. I might have considered a bottle if I had been tempted. The lamb shank for him was perfect and the mashed eggplant was a revelation!! I had the kofte skewer and the tzatziki sauce was remarkable. He got the hummus and it was very good as well. We will save room for baklava next time!!

I love coming to this cozy cafe. I put my husband on & he loves it too now. I like the servers. They’re shy & quiet but very attentive. The food is phenomenal. Prepared with fresh tasty ingredients every time. Lentil soup is my go-to & the breads top tier!

Oh my goodness!!!! The atmosphere here will make you think you are in another country. The food was superb, fresh, tasty and amazing. We had a party of 10 and they had space enough to seat all of us comfortably. The best thing The Flying Carpet is it’s BYOB, yes you read that correctly, you can bring your own bottle. The staff was amazing and the owner came out to meet us. They will see me again for sure.

T

I've never had this quisine before. It was a wonderful introduction. They had a varied but not overwhelming menu. The Turkish Tea was very good and the Turkish Coffee was so different and I very much enjoyed it. We tried a couple of the cold appetizers and kabobs and the Turkish lasagna which I have forgotten the name of. There wasn't a single thing we tried that wasn't delicious. The baklava was beautiful. The restaurant itself is dreamy in decor. From the living privacy fence that encloses the outdoor tables, to the carved front porch. The stained glass and even the bathroom had the most beautiful sink and wall tiles I have ever seen in a restaurant. The culture is beautiful. Our server was kind, helped us with food choices and allowed us conversation but checked on us frequently. A 10/10 experience. You have to try it!

K
Kelli Rust

Nothing but a solid 5 star experience here! The outdoor and indoor atmosphere is so incredibly welcoming and cozy. The lighting is great, not too dim that it's difficult to read to menu but not too bright either. We were welcomed as soon as we stepped inside and it loterally feels like coming to someone's house for a special home cooked meal! The water was fresh and filtered and fresh (right out of the oven) homemade bread was brought to our table right away. The menu is a fantastic balance of meat and vegetarian Mediterranean dishes. My husband enjoyed every bite of his Adana plate and I had plenty for leftovers with the Stuffed Cabbage. The Mediterranean salad was also absolutely delicious! I also noted that another table close by was raving about 2 of the dessert dishes! So we will be coming back to try more things! Thank you for an amazing meal and wonderful service!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed our meal at Flying Carpet Turkish Restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious, and the staff was kind and welcoming. My friends loved the baklava very much. I loved the Turkish coffee ☕️😋😍❤️ — even though it kept me awake all night, it was still so good and enjoyable 😉 Cozy place with great flavors. Would definitely come back!

Flying Carpet is a beautiful Turkish restaurant that leans fully into atmosphere and experience. The space is cozy and intimate, with warm wooden details and a homey, inviting feel that immediately slows you down. It’s the kind of place made for conversation, especially for a date where the experience actually matters. The courtesy bread alone deserves attention. Fresh, house-made, and genuinely special. Not a filler, not an afterthought. It’s something you don’t easily find elsewhere in the U.S., and it sets the tone for the entire meal. The food is impressive across the board. High-quality ingredients, thoughtfully prepared, and plated beautifully. Everything feels intentional, from flavor to presentation, without drifting into pretension. This is not a rushed dining experience. Service can take a bit of time, so it’s best to arrive with patience and space in your schedule. Come ready to slow down, talk, and absorb the atmosphere. That pacing feels deliberate and ultimately enhances the experience. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but it earns it. You’re paying for craft, care, and a dining experience that rewards attention. If you’re going to Flying Carpet for the experience, it absolutely delivers. A memorable spot, well worth it, and one that stands out for doing things properly.

My husband and I love this place! The food is fresh, the pita bread is fresh and the hummus is our absolute favorite 🥰 they give complimentary bread, and it’s delicious! I love their kenuefe dessert it’s so good along with their tea! It’s so cozy and beautiful inside. I can tell the people care about the customer experience. Presentation is great 😍 when we go to other Mediterranean restaurants we have this place in mind for comparison and it’s on top of our list. Thank you!

10/10 recommend! This place is so cute. Food was absolutely delicious. You can tell it’s freshly made to order. Dolmas were really good and the falafel was crispy on the outside but tender on the inside. For 2 people, the trio platter was the perfect portion to share. Meat was tender and very flavorful. Had to finish with walnut and pistachio baklava! And they gave us some Turkish tea to try as well! Definitely will be coming back!

This was a 8.5/5stars! Casually came here for lunch and left full bellied and happy. Feels like you’re stepping into a different corner of the world with the unique decor and some of the best Mediterranean food I’ve had. Nebny was incredibly kind and attentive to delivering a welcoming experience for our meal. As part of the family business she recommended having Turkish tea before we left, something Turkish will do after every meal and something I’d like to start implementing myself. Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area and if you’re looking for something new. We had the sultans delight with olive oil and bread. One dish was enough for two with leftovers! Looking forward to coming back again!

Very delicious and overall surprised by how good the food was! When you hear the name “Flying carpet” you might be skeptical! But don’t be! The food was great and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely be coming back to try this restaurant again! I highly recommend this place!

Visited earlier today with a group of 10. The owner and staff were so accommodating, kind and helpful! I personally ordered the Kofte Kebab Plate and swapped the salad for tabbouleh. The meat was seasoned to perfection and the tabbouleh tasted very fresh! Loved the sauce they added to the tabbouleh as well! The chocolate baklava was very rich, and not overly sweet… fitted my taste preference. I also tasted the hummus, dolmas and the cucumber-dill sauce from some other friends dishes. The food was delicious and filling! The atmosphere is very cozy, warm and welcoming. The staff seemed to enjoy our lively energy for our event. We’re grateful! Will definitely be back again!

We wanted to try something new and different. We found a place that offered traditional, homemade Turkish cuisine, which is close to Mediterranean. I ordered the Beef Shish Kabob and my dining companion had the Gyro Plate. Both dishes came with rice and salad (with traditional Greek dressing). We ordered from the Lunch Specials, available Monday - Friday. The food was tasty and flavorful. Situated in an old house on Washington Street off Magnolia, it's located in the Fairmount District (aka the Medical District). The decor says "Turkish & Mediterranean". Each table has a unique, Turkish table cloth. They were beautiful and added to the charm of the restaurant. Warm wooden floors and walls provided an atmosphere of authenticity and coziness. Our server, George, was knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. The service was perfect and gracious. Our first visit, but we enjoyed everything -- food, decor, ambiance, and service. We will be back! For dessert, try one of the three different flavors of baklava. We had the pistachio, which had 4 pieces. It was scrumptious. The unisex restroom was very clean and well stocked. P.S. The baklava was devine!

Love the authentic Turkish ambience and hospitality. Delicious food. The kuneife was a definite winning dessert. Will be back to try the coffee another time.

First time trying Turkish Food. I really like the taste. I was pretty conservative with my order. The service was great!

Everyone was very polite and welcoming! I never tried Turkish food before, so I asked my waiter his favorite and got it. Usually I don't like to eat lamb, but this was an exception. He told me he made it himself and it was delicious! 😋 It's a cute and quaint restaurant you should try

Absolutely amazing if you have not, tried it please do atmosphere is great. The lamb chops are what I had along with rice, cucumber, and tomatoes. The meal was prepared very well. I will definitely be coming back. This is a very clean atmosphere and transition from American culture to Turkish culture and food . If this is an example of Eastern culture, I hang my head in sorrow for our country and its eating habits. Thank you The hot tea and baklava is absolutely amazing as well. Come eat and enjoy your food in an atmosphere. That is peaceful…

The best Turkish restaurant in the DFW area hands down. You must try the Ottoman Kitchen menu, the sampler plate, the sweets and the tea. My favourite plates are Sultan’s Delight and the Lamb Casserole, but every plate I’ve tried here was amazingly delicious. The vibe, the ambiance and the service tops any authentic Turkish or international restaurant. Thank you Flying Carpet’s team for an incredible experience every time. I’m surely coming again soon.

Flying Carpet Turkish Mediterranean Cuisine is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere. Your Chef greets you at the door; very rare nowadays. Once you walk in, right by the door you’ll see a great selection of wines🍷 from Mediterranean region. The food is simply outstanding! The meze platter was a perfect start—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The fried liver was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender inside, bursting with rich, authentic taste. Shepherds Salad 🥗 was freshly chopped with great fresh herbs and olive oil. And the mixed kebab plate? Absolutely delicious! Juicy, well-seasoned, and perfectly grilled, every bite was a delight. If you’re looking for an authentic Turkish-Mediterranean dining experience, this is the place to be. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Absolutely love it! The food is delicious and the restaurant has a nice cozy feeling. The owner provided us complimentary tea after learning it was our first visit. Everyone was so nice. We ordered the falafel platter, energy platter, and pistachio baklava. The presentation was so beautiful I had to take a photo! My husband and I will definitely be back. Quick edit: baklava is not pictured because we ate it too quickly! Definitely recommend.

My friend and I enjoyed a lovely evening catching up in these cozy little place with great food! Walked in and were seated quickly. Nice that there is parking considering the location! Amazing flavors! We had to ask for more bread with the app since there was only one small pita bread for each of us and lots of dip left. Huge portions - had enough for lunch the next day. Enjoyed the Turkish coffee in the cutest little setup. Not pictured was the baklava that I took to go. It was packaged nicely and I ate it the next day. Would go back and try other dishes and the patio when it warms up! This will sound weird, but even the bathroom was neat with fun tiles.

Such a breath of fresh air. This place is small, very cute in design for turning a home into a restaurant. Food was beyond delicious as well as authentic. Service was great. The owner came out asked us how everything was, He then thanked us and shook our hand. We went there for date night and it did not disappoint.

If you are on the lookout for a delicious, unique restaurant off of Magnolia, this is it. My wife and I tried it this evening with some friends. We agree this quaint Turkish cafe is one of the best restaurants we’ve been to in Fort Worth. The staff were polite and the food was fantastic! In addition, the beautiful and cozy atmosphere made the visit even more enjoyable!

I want to give this place another try one day. We made reservations and went on a very busy Saturday, and it seems like their AC was broken. They had fans running everywhere. It made for a very tough experience b/c everyone at the table was sweating. We waited quite a while for our food, just under an hour, and our appetizer never came. When the servers did interact with us, they were all very kind, but we rarely saw the servers. I understand that things get crazy, and having operating problems like AC issues doesn't help. I want to try this place again. I ordered the Moussaka, and it had good flavor. We also ordered the chocolate baklava, which was really good!

Great food, definitely coming back. Only downside is we didn't get to try the coffee since the machine was down.

The food was very delicious, one of the best falafel in a while! They serve it with a great red sauce I haven’t had before. The lamb shank and shish kebab were both also very tender and delicious. My only biff is that it can be pretty expensive for just two people.

Charming, authentic Turkish restaurant. We had baba ghanoush as our starter alongside their warm, delicious bread. It was amazing. Lentil soup was flavorful. Our main course, Iskender was lacking. It had a small portion of tender lamb, but way too much bread with far too little sauce. Overall a nice experience with very kind wait staff.

First time to try this spot out. It was just right for our party of four. Dining room was clean and comfortable allowing us to enjoy the dinner and conversations with our close friends. Service was good while not being intrusive. Food was tasty and fairly priced. Plenty of parking via free parking lot too.

I used to love their food but for the past three visits, the taste has become mediocre to downhill. Even the salad that comes with the entrees, they changed. I hope they could live up to their sister restaurant, Istanbul Cuisine which always achieve my expectations.

Not so bad, but also not as worth it. They did mess up on our order a bit, but that was also my fault for not checking there. I did ask if we had our sauces, and they said yes but when I got home there were none. They are pricey, but we did get a few different things to try.

Not enough good to be turkish food. Some meat types look frozen and cooked, some smell burnt. Honestly pita was also smelling burnt. What could be good is appetizers, chicken breast. On top of that you will be charged for overpriced food. Not a good experience. Interior is nice tho.

wood cabin setting with a unique Turkish menu. The atmosphere was inviting, and while the food was decent, it didn’t quite stand out.

The restaurant is very cozy and quaint, but the food is bad. Hummus is tasteless. C'mon guys, use some garlic. I dont want to relive the rest of the meal. Unrecognizable mush.

My wife and I decided to try The Flying Carpet for the first time. We arrived around 8 PM, an hour before closing, so perhaps the timing affected our experience—but I still feel it’s worth sharing. We ordered the Chicken Gyro, Chicken Shish Kebab, and the Feta Cigar. The appetizer was good—flavorful, though the portion felt small for $13. Unfortunately, the main dish was disappointing. My Chicken Shish Kebab arrived undercooked. I addressed it politely with the server and declined a replacement, but a few minutes later, the same plate returned with the same food—this time cooked more thoroughly, but still with the piece I had already spit out left on the plate. At the very least, I believe a new, fresh plate should have been served. As for the flavor, the chicken lacked seasoning and was very plain. The rice was decent, and the vegetables were enjoyable. On a more positive note, my wife really liked her Chicken Gyro, which is why I’m not leaving a 1-star review. The restaurant was noticeably hot inside, and we saw a group of eight leave—possibly due to the heat. There were also flies, which detracted from the overall experience, though I understand that some of these factors may be out of the restaurant’s control. Overall, we’re open to giving this place a second chance, but this first visit left a negative impression. I hope our feedback helps improve the dining experience for future guests.

I’m glad I gave this place a try. The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was kind and attentive. That said, the food felt underwhelming, especially since I came in with fairly simple expectations—just well-executed, familiar flavors and dishes. The main issue was the disconnect between the portion size and the overall value of the plate, combine that with relatively mild flavors, and the experience just didn’t quite come together. I appreciate the hospitality and effort, but there are other nearby options that may offer a stronger overall balance.
