The coconut shrimp with garlic fries was delicious. What a great value, huge shrimp perfectly prepared with toasted coconut. Also tried the Salmon Sandwich. A thick piece of salmon and cooked perfectly. DELICIOUS.

New gem in Grover Beach! Friend suggested we go here because she had heard only good things even though they just opened. It's located in the old Tacos de Mexico spot, 791 (on the NW corner of 8th and Grand. I had the fish and chips at the suggestion of a couple who had several dishes and were complimentary of all of them. Fish and chips were perfectly cooked--light and airy with just a touch of salt. I had the 3 pieces of fish and the portions were generous. The fries were also good--lightly seasoned and not over cooked. Kiddo had the grilled salmon sandwich and loved it. It was well-seasoned. Salmon was cooked to perfection, definitely not over cooked. Served sourdough bun with cheese with arugula, tomato, caramelized onions, and a light sauce that was a perfect compliment. Husband had the Surf's Up--fried claims, fried shrimp, fried shrimp, and fried calamari with fries. A lot of fried food but it was light and airy, not greasy at all. Generous portions of seafood and nicely seasoned all around. Auntie had grilled rockfish tacos and opted for homemade tortilla chips. Two good-sized tacos topped with cabbage slaw and light sauce. Folks working were super friendly and engaging. Hope to see this place succeed, especially with the reworking of Grand Avenue. One thing to note--not great for larger groups. Tables are picnic style and only seat 4 to a table. Would not mind sitting outside (a couple of larger tables) when weather is nice! Overall, everything was delightful and the kid (who doesn't really care too much for seafood) said, "mom, we gotta come back here!" So we will.

Had a great experience, sat outside and had great service. We enjoyed the Surf's Up with fries, and the crispy fish tacos with a side salad with chipotle vinaigrette. Everything was really good, and tasted very fresh, even the French fries were outstanding in flavor. The fried shrimp were sweet and juicy, definitely a highlight, and the dips were fantastic! The jicama on the tacos was a great touch. Will definitely be back!

So Happy we found this place during a quick work trip. The welcoming staff made us feel like Family members coming in to eat. Fast service and Amazing food! The Cabo tacos are huge with fresh toppings and real French fries. The Clam Chowder was AMAZING! I am a clam chowder snob and in my opinion beats anyone in Pismo plus no crowd and tables outside to enjoy the weather. We will definitely be Back and have a new favorite spot.

Food was fresh ! A lot of flavor ! Very tasty and did not disappoint. We had shrimp cocktail, crab melt with fries , and Mahi mahi teriyaki with rice. I will be coming back .

This place was so tasty! We had Cabo Fish Taco, Tri Tip sandwich clam chowder, garlic fries, and choco flan. All of it was delish! This place just opened up and worth the visit! Recommend giving it a try if you're near.

My family ate here about a week ago. All of our food was fresh and nice. It's a little small inside but there is seating outside as well. I really liked the atmosphere. There was a nice upbeat feel about the place. Music was playing customers were eating. Just a good vibe.There server was nice as well. We had chicken tostada salad, chicken sandwich, and fish & chips.

I wanted to try this Hidden GEM based on the good reviews. All 5 of us praised the owner and cooks for the hot, delicious, and freshly prepared meals . We ordered fish, clam chowder/ bread bowl, garlic fries, shrimp empanadas (homemade), fish tacos, surf and turf, and fried oysters. Don't be fooled by the size and casual atmosphere. It's not a fancy restaurant with the high prices. It offers good meal options for the kids. I want to stress that we are all very picky when it comes to seafood and we would definitely would come back again! I regret not taking any photos to share.

Figured I’d check out the new place, I got the Surf’s Up (Sampler Plate). The Fish and Shrimp stole the show, so good. I could live without the other stuff, perhaps ask for the clam strips and calamari to be crispier. Fries were whatever, but I HIGHLY recommend the fish or the shrimp. They have a fish guy who supplies them with different kinds of fish so that might change occasionally (hence the in store menu only). But the batter was so crispy and flavorful, fish was tasty and wasn’t too soft, and the house tartar sauce was bomb too. Clam chowder was pretty good too. Will definitely be back for the beer battered fish or shrimp. Super nice staff as well.

My husband and I were visiting from out of town and wanted seafood. This place did not disappoint! We LOVED everything! The clam chowder is AMAZING!!!! We will be definitely coming back!

The food was excellent. There was a lot of people who ordered ahead of us but even still their food and ours came out extremely quickly. I think they have some of the best fish and chips I've had. I ordered the 3 piece fish and chips and my child ordered the kids fish and chips which surprisingly only came with one piece of fish, so I shared one of my pieces. I only slightly regretted sharing since it was so delicious. We ate outside because I thought inside was a bit crowded. Very thankful they have such nice outdoor seating. The service was very great, we were checked on quickly and given extra napkins when we asked for them. I guess that would be my only real nitpick, their napkins were not very good. But if my biggest complaint about a restaurant is their napkins I think that's pretty great. I will definitely be back, I want to try so much more on the menu! Thank you!

I had the Surf's Up (fried fish, shrimp, calamari, and clams), and it was awesome. The garlic fries were a little on the strong side, but they were still good. My wife had the cabo tacos and they were awesome (I snuck a bite). The food is reasonably priced, and tastes great! And the service was incredible! I'd definitely eat here again.

Great little spot! Friendly and quick service. Had the clam chowder bread bowl, fish&chips, and shrimp&chips. Everything was delicious, and made with care. Well-seasoned and fried just right to be crispy. Toasting and buttering even the "lid" part of the bread bowl was a nice touch. Would definitely return!

And out of the cornucopia of choices I randomly selected this place from google map. As a first time visitor I step in and acknowledged the mother and daughter staff at the table near the register. The daughter stood up received us and quickly asked for our order. I replied that I would like to see the menu first since I was a first time. She replied with go ahead all while never removing her eyes from her cell phone. As I sat to once over the menu my partner rushes to the bathroom door. Stopped by the doors required combination key I asked if she would share so that my partner could use the restroom. She replied with “ you have to order something first.!” I had already had enough of her pushiness and impoliteness And barely caught my self from dismissing ourselves. Only because the door for the bathroom was ajar and my partner had slipped in. I continued to look over the menu from my seat and as I looked up and notice she was still glued to her cell phone, I started my order by saying I’ll have such and such” she replied with a unengaged “ we order from over here” suggesting I needed two close the two foot gap between us in order to place my order. At that point a had enough and decided to leave. What’s was her deal? Either way we were recommended to go to Vista’s down the road. And as it turned out her funky attitude was a blessing in disguise. Vista was half the price, double the aesthetics, and triple the hospitality. I would even suggest that the food was better based on photos. Don’t go here. Go to vista.
