We've been there twice. Excellent both times! Alhambres is my favorite. Everything we have had has been really good. Menu is small but its all good.
Always consistent, FRESH, has the authenticity and the people are very nice. Visiting MX many times in my life, this is the best I've had since I moved back to MD few years ago
Great food. Have been meaning to come here for a while. Loved the tacos will be coming back for more. Nicely sized menu with certain items like their tacos (soft corn tortilla type not hard shell tex-mex also without cheese and sour cream) being somewhat a la carte at 3-4 dollars each. Offers barbacoa lamb meat! Get two or three in one order -- bam a generous lunch under $12. Other tortas sandwiches, tostadas and dishes like alambre, sope, tlcoyoo, gringas, gorditas, burritos and enchiladas range from $5 to $15 each. Will be trying them all. Was in and out for my "to-go" order of two campechanos tacos in under ten minutes maybe even five it was very quick. Breakfast items are available all day too. Lots of Mexican drinks available as well as smoothies.
Loved the steak tacos, chicken tacos, and OMG the corn - nothing like I have ever had. The roja and verde sauce were awesome too!!!! You can see the chili pepper seeds in the roja sauce. The lady taking the orders speaks english well; the rest I don't know but am doubtful. You won't find this type of Mexican food anywhere around Carrroll or Baltimore County. The atmosphere is kinda tired and not inviting but the food seems very well thought out, so take out is the best idea for now. My mother was from New Mexico and, though Spanish, she knew how to use those chili peppers inside and out - these folks do too. Try the corn!
Best Mexican food in finksburg. For gluten free order hard corn tacos. The Cubano torta is 3 meals big and delicious. Here is a list of other good items--gringa, fajitas, and enchiladas but get the green sauce unless you like it really hit then go red.
The best Restaurant in town! The whole menu is the most amazing food you could have! The best burrito I've had in a long time! Give it a try...
They may very well have the most perfect steak burrito. Reminds me of some of the top notch L.A. street food that I would find while working out there. The works.
I am so happy this small restaurant opened near me. The food is fantastic and truly authentic and everyone is so friendly. I can't say enough good things about it. Happy Anniversary on one year in business!
What a gem! I'm from SoCal so am a bit spoiled when it comes to having access to great mexican food and authentic Mexican is hard to find in Maryland. I had heard that Quacamole would not disappoint - How right my sources were! Ordered food for 30 people for a party I hosted, and it was a HUGE hit! I called ahead and my order was ready exactly on time and well packaged. Worth the 45 minute drive, will be back for a dine-in experience asap.
This place is the real deal. If you're expecting Taco Bell, Chipotle or Qdoba, this is not for you. This place is for people who like real authentic Mexican and it's finally in this area!! Served and presented the way I remember getting it from the taco shops in southern California and southern Texas. And to top it off, everything I've had so far has been ridiculously delicious. Prices are very reasonable for the quality you get!!
Just popped in here and I had some pork tacos that were super good! The verde sauce creeps up on you with a nice burn. My husband got a pork burrito and said it was the best burrito he has had since we moved to MD 10 years ago from Chicago.
I love their carne asada tacos! Big, full, well worth the money! Their salsas are really good too!! Their carne asada platter is awesome! I love that they make their corn tortilla home made!! Excellent! I will eat from here over and over again! You won’t be disappointed!
Mexican food from the southern east coast region of Mexico. This is not “Americanized Mexican”. Everything is quality and fresh ingredients. I’ve eaten here about 10 times and I love it! They do delivery as well. Menu can be a bit difficult to navigate but just go with it.
Authentic food at great prices! Everything that we have tried on the menue has been great! From the outside this place does not look like much but once you taste the food... you will be back!
Best al pastor tacos. Definitely have to go back and try more. Front desk man was great as well
Kind of a miracle that a place like this exists so far out of the way. I don't know if I'd go here for smaller bites & tacos, but I never order quesadillas and the one they served me was *massive*. Steak + chorizo (campechana), seemed like it was a huge huarache folded over stuffed with fried peppers, onions, and really, really good potatoes. The girlfriend got a lengua torta that was big, well-cooked and not shy on the cheese. This place strikes me as a winner in regards to portion size and presentation - the full-blown shrimp cocktail & alambre combo served to the table next to us made me a little jealous. Don't know when I'll be in Finksburg again but I can't imagine I'll eat anywhere else.
Good authentic Mexican food. Very tasty. And they deliver to me. This place is packed with Mexicans so you know it is good. Highly recommended. Go here, you won't be sorry!!!
Called in to order three tortes,a chicken,an al Lambra and a carnita. Price was a bit high maybe, the three torta and two bottle drinks was 45 bucks. The sandwiches were delicious however and the service was with a smile! Will definitely stopping in again .
Seriously the best, most authentic tasting Mexican food you will have in Maryland. My boyfriend lived in Mexico for a year and he said this place is the closest thing he’s had to authentic Mexican food and reminded him of when he used to live there. And the horchata was soooo good, we still think about it until this day, and we visited this place a year and a half ago! Sadly we don’t live close by, otherwise we’d definitely be coming here more often!
Super authentic, have to try tacos everywhere that I see and offers Cabeza and Lengua. Tortillas were made to order and meat was fresh and flavorful. Chips for chips and salsa or chips and guac were hand made to order as well. Large portions as well. Definitely worth the try if you enjoy authentic mexican style street tacos.
Great authentic Mexican food! The beef fajitas are so good! Tacos are huge and delicious. You get a lot of food for a reasonable price and if you like authentic Mexican food you will love this place!
We picked up lunch to have in my Granddaughter's new home this was my first time there and I would recommend it for an authentic Mexican meal the servings was large enough for two people to share .
Finally got a chance to stop in and was not disappointed. There was cool decor inside. Had the tacos, enchiladas, and tres leches cake. All delicious and will be coming here often!
The birria tacos are fantastic 💪💪💪 everything we've had so far has been great.
This place rocks! Excellent food, great/friendly service, and the prices are right for the portions you get. The food is definitely shareable, meaning if you get a burrito/etc, you can share it with two people. If you want real, authentic Mexican food (beyond what the other places around this area (eg. Westminster) call "authentic Mexican" but really isn't authentic), then go here. You will NOT be disappointed whatsoever.
These guys are awesome! I love eating here. I lived in Los Angeles for 3 years and ate the best of the best Mexican food... This is the closest thing to it that I have had out on the east coast. The food is great, the service is great, the people are great. It is a hidden gem. I will take all of my friends here.
Excellent food! We had one of each of the 3 main meat group tacos and they were delicious. I loved that the corn tortilla was lightly fried still a soft taco but the shell holds together so much more. I am planning to go back and try their humongous quesadillas.
Great spot! Quality, fresh, made to order Mexican food. Very authentic. Everything I've had has been delicious. Owners are super friendly. Nice addition to the neighborhood.....and worth a trip if you are not local.
Dave recently added a little bit more seating inside, though it is still very limited. The food is always amazing and the service is very quick. It is as authentic as you can get in this area!
Excellent food with good portions. Very nice service.
Dinne!r for 3 adults and a pre-teen for just over &50 with lots of leftovers! Everyone loves their choices! Steak was so tender and crazy amounts of meat in each entrée! Will be back again! Great to have more choices in Finksburg!
Came after a hike at liberty reservoir. Burrito was awesome. They have lengua which is a good sign they know their food! I'll be back next time I'm around. Would be awesome if they could add a picnic table to eat outside.
Ordered carry out a week ago after finding this place online. Burritos are amazing. Great flavor, amazing portion size, and the ingredients seemed fresh! Customer service was great! We will be back!
This restaurant’s food was amazing! Best salsa I have ever had…definitely a hidden gem.
This is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Finksburg and the surrounding area. Each bite was better than the last. The shrimp tacos were my favorite!
1st time here and I was not disappointed. Came in and sat down and a gentleman came right out and took our order. Food came out fast. It was hot, and delicious. Love the atmosphere and music. Great little restaurant. We will be back
Took my kids there for my son birthday. Service is laid back in a good way and staff very nice. Food was delicious we had tacos, torta and huaraches. We also tried for later Churros and believe was called 1,000 layer dessert. Both were very good. Definitely will go again.
Excellent food! First timer today and everything was delicious! Will definitely be back and recommend to anyone that wants authentic Mexican food!
Being from Texas, I thoroughly enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine! This place is IT!!!! The food and service are both phenomenal. The tacos are big and full of meat which I appreciate. I dislike small skimpy tacos with little to no meat. The menudo is fantastic! The tortillas are fresh and delicious. I can’t wait to come back and dine in.
Excellent authentic Mexican food! Super friendly and fast service. Lengua tlacoyos and tacos were excellent. The salsa verde had just the right amount of heat and the corn tortillas were handmade and tender. Can’t wait to try out more items on the menu!
First visit, carry-out, and the food was delicious! Tacos were filled to the brim with chicken, guacamole was fresh! Dining room was beautiful! Definitely will be returning to try other items on their menu!
This place is absolutely delicious! Authentic , large portions, and take out was organized, quick and hot.
Absolutely! Here's a short review for you: I was blown away by these tacos. They were hands down the best I've had in years! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. Moreover, the restaurant was impeccably clean, making for a pleasant dining environment. I'll definitely be returning for more!"
The food is authentic Mexican, not Tex-Mex. The staff is friendly and they have a nice AYCE buffet on the weekends. $33.99
Friendly staff. Amazing food. I had the diner buffet for my second visit; what a flavorful journey!
The food, drinks and service were a absolutely amazing. Can't wait to go back!
Went here on a whim. The food was fantastic. The menu was a little hard to navigate but that was part of the fun. The Finksburg location has a second dining room with a very nice atmosphere. Modern, comfortable, decor and ambient lighting. Very festive. Was not expecting that in a slow strip mall. I was sad to see lack of customers on a Saturday evening because I want them to do well! Husband had 2 different types of tacos that were packed with meat. My daughter had the Birria tacos and they were also packed. I had the Huarche, chicken. The sauces were flavorful and the food beautiful and authentic. My lime mojito was delicious with very fresh ingredients and a beautiful flower garnish. Nice portions and very reasonable prices.
This place is FANTASTIC. Perfect little hole in the wall place with delicious, authentic food. I tried so many things I've never heard of before and everything was delicious. Although they only have beer, no liquor so no margaritas, it wasn't even messed with the delicious food we were eating.
really came across some delicious Mexican food during my travels! wanted a quick bite and Taqueria El Guacamole popped up on my map. menu looks extensive w all the traditional dishes. can't go wrong w any choices but I got the al pastor tacos & supreme burrito. the al pastor tacos were delicious! pieces of pineapples added an additional bold flavor to an already flavorful marinated pork. salsa verde & rojo were on point! rojo had a nice kick, too! the burrito came w seasoned, scrumptious fries! polished those off before even getting home. the burrito was huge and stuffed! will definitely be getting it again! overall highly recommended! the place was cleaned, vibrant, cozy. the gentleman was pleasant and helpful w the order. I'd gladly visit again and try different items!
Amazing service, very sweet even tho we came close to close !!! Highly recommend if you’re looking for quick delicious food
Great authentic food! Never had Nachos that had more toppings than chips! We will definitely be back!
This place is amazing! By far the best salsa I have ever had. Pablo was our server and he was excellent. Recommended my lunch and it was phenomenal. Do yourself a favor and stop in for some authentic Mexican cuisine.
I don't give 5 star reviews, but Taqueria El Guacamole knocks its out of the park. How are we? So lucky to have them here? They hiding from the El Norteños? Did they cross the Sinaloa boys and now they have to hide in Maryland ? I don't know, but I have not had a torta Milanese sin the 90s. Sure I got flashbacks from my time in penitenciaria federal, but it is worth it for the homemade tortillas.
Easily the best taqueria in Maryland!!the tacos are huge,so full of what meat you prefer, the variety might not be so many but the quality is the best, the Mexican sandwich are big , the quesadilla is so big it’s a foot long roll full of goodness, the place is located in a simple building but clean ,serous friendly. If you want real Mexican food, this is the place.
The food here is amazing. If you are looking for a fancy Tex Mex restaurant where you get chips and salsa, this isn't your spot. If you're looking for a small hole in the wall with fantastic food this is your spot. I have only had the tacos and so far have not been disappointed. They are always stuffed with meat and have plenty of flavor. My first time I ordered 3, but now normally get 2 and am plenty full. Also every time I have been the person behind the counter speaks English and is always helpful
Don’t judge by the outside appearance, come in!... 🇲🇽 There is a checklist that must be met to make a restaurant “Authentic Mexican” and Taqueria El Guacamole passes with flying colors! The tacos here are the ‘Bomb-Digidy’! 😋 🌮 The owner brings them to you over-filled, not a skimpy serving at all. The sauces are delicious, not too spicy. I had the Tres Leches dessert which was also great 🍰 👍! The pricing is worth it without a doubt. Bilingual service too, always a plus. I will be back for sure!
I was told of this place and honestly had driven past it numerous times and didn't see it. I decided to stop and thank goodness I did. They served me some of the best Mexican food I've eaten. Authentic . You must stop in and check them out. You won't be disappointed. And don't get me started on the Guac..
Food was REALLY good. Authentic and flavorful, there were a lot of options to choose from. But also not so many as to give you decision paralysis. The staff was friendly and bilingual.
Food was great. Fast service. Place is pretty small, they only have a few tables. I ordered some chicken nachos and a bottled drink total was $17 dollars which I felt was over priced.
Delicious Mexican food; would like to have had tomatoes on my burrito though. Incredibly good guacamole and whatever the green cilantro sauce is, it is to die for! A bit on the pricey side.....Would give 4.5 stars if I could....
My husband and I ordered here for my birthday. I thought the food was great. We had the steak gringas, enchiladas, and churros. I would really like to try this location not as a to go but as a sit down if possible. Overall I would order from here again.
The food was delicious, service does take a little bit but it’s not bad at all would definitely come back
This small restaurant located on the main road is easy to miss. It's small and was very busy when we arrived. There is a takeout counter with a few chairs at the front to sit in while you wait for your order and a few tables and chairs in the back. Eat in or take out-either one is a good option. The food was freshly prepared to order. I had a chicken taco which was a bit dry and didn't have much seasoning on it, I like mine super seasoned. The sauce that came with it was really good and had a perfect balance of cilantro, salt, and lime. It was a good size taco for the price of $4.95 My companion had the carné asada which had a good assortment of meats, beans, cactus pads, a hot pepper, rice, and cheese. It was mildly seasoned and cooked nicely. It was a large portion for the price of $14.99. I would go again, but I would request extra seasoning on my food.
Chicken burrito was really good. Menu said it came with fries but came with potato chunks instead. 🤔 Dude was on his headphones ignoring me when I came in, and never bothered to refill my drink
I visited this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon, hoping to try "Pambazos" (picture) a traditional sandwich from the capital of Mexico. The restaurant was clean, and the service was excellent. However, the "Pambazo" did not seem to follow the authentic recipe. My girlfriend ordered tacos, which were very tasty.
The environment was good, except it was freezing inside. Winter is upon us so maybe the restaurant reflects the external temps?? The employees were fantastic!! Food was pretty good. The Birria tacos won the prize at the table!! Delicious! We also picked up some chicken and steak tacos. Both were good.
This location has gone overboard on the thematic decorations but the food and service were excellent. Years ago a Mexican friend told me to always go to the Mexican resteraunts that looked like a hole in the wall as they are more authentic and tastier foods. This rule always seemed correct untll my visit here. I had the steak which came with a fried slice of cactus, some fried onions, and a fried jalapeno. It was accompanied by rice, beans, a salad, and a chunk of cheese. There were corn tortillas too. It was all very tasty. I will definitely visit again and try a few other menu items. My drink was horcheta which was a little heavy on the cinnamon but was still quite refreshing. The prices are very reasonable for the quantity and taste of the food.
Slow service, huge language barrier with the girl at the counter. I had a hard time just making her understand how many tacos I wanted. After being seated we were asked to move to another table right inside the front door so that we got a blast of cold air everytime someone entered. Floor had bottle caps all over and needed a sweeping. That being said, the food was very good, and the tacos al pastor were amazing!
I wanted to come back in and edit my review from when I visited again for takeout on Dec 31, 2021. I picked up some tacos again, it only took 10 minutes to get the food after I placed my order. However, the food didn't seem quite the nice quality from my prior experience. They were a little dry and hard to get down but I was so hungry! It ended up being a good meal and I was happy. However, NONE of the employees were wearing a mask and this was during times of high transmission. Please be SAFE and ALL employees need to wear a mask, especially when working around food! This restaurant also needs to work on keeping a cleaner environment. Sorry, but I won't be back soon. Changed my rating to a 3/5 stars. Here's my review from 10 months prior: Got takeout from here and it was very good! I got 3 tacos to go and a soda which cost just over $15. The tacos I got were Lamb, Beef Head and Chorizo sausage. The meat was all seasoned and cooked nicely with lots of cilantro. It came with a couple spicy sauces and limes. I'm not sure what the sauces were (one green, one red), but they were quite tasty. The green sauce was almost bubbly as if it was a fermented sauce. If you're sensitive to heat just test the sauces first before loading them on. By the end of the meal my sinuses were cleared! Tacos came with what tasted to be homemade soft corn tortillas. My only one complaint was that I wish the meat was drained better of the grease because all of the tacos were sopping with grease. The beef head meat had too much fat in it for my liking but maybe some people dig that. This place is just a little hole in the wall and not many tables to eat at, so your best (and safest) bet would be to take food to go. Ordering was a quick process I was only there for about 10 minutes. It was a little pricey but I was pleased to find a local spicy treat! There is an old Mortal Kombat arcade and a Claw machine as well as a TV. I noticed they had a small section with bakery items and desserts. Next time I go I'll be sure to edit my review with a photo of the food, I was too hungry and ate it all.
The waitresses' service sucked to the point that after waiting for about 6 minutes for even a menu or ask me what type of drink, I went to the counter and got my own menu and asked the gentleman/cashier for a water. Then I went and ordered myself once again with the cashier who was nice which is why I award 2 stars instead of none. However the food was delicious.
I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and now I can say been there, done that. It doesn't have the menu that you may be used to. A lot I didn't even understand or recognize. We did carry out. The one good thing that I can say is that you get a large meal for the cost. The problem is, it really wasn't that good. I am not running back anytime soon.
We were not pleased with our visit here. After Plazuelas closed in Eldersburg we have been looking for suitable replacement. This place was not it. It is not really set up for family dining. It has a couple tables with chairs but the three customers who came in while we were there were all pick up. Table and surrounding area were not so clean but it was the only take big enough to accomodate our party. The menu was pretty pricy and didn't have the standard Mexican dishes. Surprised to find we were charged for chips and salsa. When our dishes were brought out, two plates didn't come with the items listed on the menu...
I've been wanting to give this place a try since they opened their first location in Finksburg. Now at their 2nd location, I made a stop yesterday for a quick bite, but really wasn't impressed. My quesadilla tasted floury & both the steak/cheeses used as it's only filling were really bland. Resorted to dipping it in sour cream & Verde sauce just to eat a few bites. I didn't even take the rest to go bcuz it was so unpalatable. The watermelon water was refreshing, but a bit pricey for what it is. Service wasn't the greatest either, the waiter sat at a table with his friends n didn't check on his guests til their checks were needed. Probably won't visit again, since there r other tastier options in Westminster.
So not sure what is so great here..because I still haven't found it. Tacos are okay, the green spicy sauce is very good, chicken quesadilla was terrible (the chicken flavor was awful), my sope was terrible, the horchata was terrible, their chicken burrito was terrible (again, it's that chicken flavor they use), the potatoes that come with the burrito were awful. I tried to like this place and give them a shot twice, but it just doesn't do it for me. Again, maybe I'm ordering the wrong things but the flavors so far aren't there.
Where to start? Their chips are not hot & the salsa terrible & from a can. Their Fajita Supreme is ok, they want to charge $2 for more than 4 tortillas. And sour cream would be another $1.25. Doesn't come w plate of lettuce tomato shredded cheese like everywhere else serves it! Didn't ask but sure they would charge extra! Also, the place is kept Wayyyy too cold for winter! Maybe 55/60 degrees in there, Turn on the Heat!!! Not going back. Don't waste your time or $!
Nice decorations and staff is friendly. Horchata was made from a powdered mix ....that had me nervous...the Ceviche showed up.... And I kid you not... It was 90% cucumbers....Ive never even seen cucumber in ceviche in my whole life. Was difficult to find the shrimp in it ...the only thing that was good was the pork shoulder torta.
Ordered from here tonight for Valentines Day dinner (online) 2/14/24: A few of my orders were wrong (chicken subbed for steak), not a terrible inconvenience but not what I ordered. Ordered Chips and guacamole ($11.99) and it was the worst guacamole I have ever had in my life. It had hint of avocado, and was filled with cilantro stems and large hunks of onion. It was truly so bizarre. I would not recommend.
Unless you’re Latino you may not get good service. My wife and I felt like the service was second rate because we don’t speak Spanish. We had to ask for tortilla chips which is complimentary without asking. The dipping sauce was cold from the fridge and looked used. The food was ok. I had been here before with a Latino friend and the service was great. However, I won’t be going back… …ever.
Some food is good I'll admit, but we had made a large order for delivery a day before (for work), and called the next day early in the morning to confirm the order, and ended up not showing up at all. They just made up excuses. Apart from that we previously ordered a cake for a birthday party (large), but all the cakes ended up being the same size and overpriced. A regular cake size that can be bought at bjs or a regular bakery for $30, ended up being $120 at this guacamole restaurant. So sorry, but this place is not worth the food or service. If anyone wants amazing real Mexican authentic food go to papa joes. Their staff is amazing, polite, and the food is not over-priced.
Food very authentic except they don't make their own chips & salsa! I have my own bag of Tostitos at home! 😞😞😞 So disappointing! Everything was cold; I order Chilaqiles with chicken, they gave me the chicken AFTER I reminded them I was to have chicken. My husbands meat was all burnt with burnt onions! Also, I feel like I'm back living in Mexico. They definitely need to clean, a decent place to sit would be nice but not necessary if it were at least clean! I feel for them, they certainly are trying hard but we definitely won't be back.
The service was excellent, the servers were friendly, the inside of the building was very colorful… the water tasted like warm tap water, and the food had no flavor at all whatsoever
Literally sat waiting to be spoken to by any person who works here for 1/2 hour while not that busy while watching waiters move around talking to the Spanish speaking guests. Even after eye contact, not one word, nothing. Eventually we got up and slowly walked out and they just watched us go.
