Went there for dinner last night with my son. Very casual, pub kind of atmosphere. My expectation of the food wasn’t high. But! The fish and chips I ordered was one of the best I’ve ever had!! And the wait staff were delightful. We will be back!

We were just passing by and decided to try this place, it was delicious!!! We never have luck finding good food on the go so we were so happy to find this place! We got a burger, artichoke dip and Cesar salad… SOOO GOOD! the bartender was super sweet and even gave us a to go water for our dog!

Came to hike at the Bash Bish Falls, it got late and stopped here for dinner on our way out. SO DELICIOUS and fresh tasting. We got the Friday Mahi Mahi Special and Herb Crusted Salmon. Much better than I expected. Great fish portions also. Really kind service as well. Overall, FANTASTIC! I’m full, taste buds satisfied, and now ready for the drive ahead!

Recently re-opened under new ownership. Besides various other dishes served they smoke their own ribs, brisket and pulled pork, and it’s some of the best I’ve had. The sauce is mildly sweet and mildly spicy, and the meat is tender and juicy. The ribs have a nice, chewy crust. Of the sides sampled in two visits the cole slaw, made with both yellow and red cabbage with a little red onion in a slightly vinegary sauce, stands out. The bar has a very nice selection of local craft beers on tap. When put together with the very reasonable prices, pleasant atmosphere (including an outdoor seating area), and friendly and efficient service, this will be one of our Columbia County go-to places.

The pizza was crisp and tasty - classic cheese. The margarita was well made. Service was attentive and bar was comfortable. This was our first visit and we'll be back.

We’ve been here almost every weekend since opening and love it. Sure there were some hiccups in the beginning- delays on food, some order mixups, etc but they’ve been working out the kinks and the staff & owners are super friendly. It’s a very comfortable place for both full time locals and “weekender” locals to meet and greet. Price point is very fair. It’s a much needed addition to Hillsdale and we’re happy to have them!

Best french fries I've had, perhaps ever! Don't live in the area but if I pass through again I'd go a distance out of my way just for the fries.

Pulled pork is really good and their seasoned fries are appetizing (nice and crispy) We ordered the soft pretzels to go with cheese. Will return!

On vacation we found this place as a last hope for dinner.After driving to 2 other places and walking out due to our picky children lol I said this is it the restaurant was spotless service was amazing and food was absolutely delicious and fresh the only downfall was not a easy place to park.

The wings may have been the best garlic parm wings I have every had!! They were crispy while soaking up the sauce making the wings so flavorful. The chicken was cooked to perfection. My prime rib was so good and ending my meal with the cheesecake drizzled with caramel, requested not a given, was perfect! Highly recommend!!!

In the area for vacation and was very impressed with the food. Wings were phenomenal and made me question the wing place I regularly go to at home. They were very juicy and had a great skin. I also had the mushroom pizza and normally always get meat but my girlfriend convinced me. I would recommend. The service was not the best though. It seemed our waiter forgot about us as he did not come check on us for at least 30 minutes when we were ready to get the check. However, because the food was very good I'm still giving it 5 stars.

Old-style tavern/restaurant in the center of the hamlet of Hillsdale. Our young server was very polite and the food (a gourmet mushroom pizza) was delicious. Our one big concern was that our pizza appeared to be left out for several minutes (we could see where it was being made) instead of being served promptly. Another staff member apologized unprompted and told us that they were in training, which is understandable.

Two hungry hikers shared 6 boneless wings, a bbq burger, and a buffalo chicken pizza. We only make it halfway through the pizza. Everything was very good, but the burger was especially delicious. Great service & very reasonable prices.

I am going to dream about this prime rib for the rest of my life! My partner and I found this place while exploring the area and wanting a dinner before getting a beer down the road. Many small towns have a little restaurant like this that just make you feel like home. Hillsdale House has all of the small town charm and colonial New England atmosphere but levels it up with a lovely craft beer selection, perfect brick oven tavern pizza, and the best prime rib I’ve had in my life. I could write an epic poem about this prime rib. The beef was incredible quality, roasted to a perfect medium rare and the lightly grilled. The vegetables and au jus was garlic lovers dream - bringing me back to The Stinking Rose in Beverly Hills. I would drive two hours from my home every week for this. Don’t sleep on the Hillsdale House!

Had a very nice dinner with friends. We shared a white pizza from the wood-fired oven. And the salmon special was delicious. The service was pleasant and helpful. Definitely will visit more often.

Great lunch at a reasonable price. French onion soup was bubbly hot and burnt, had a corned beef reuben which was a little dry but more than made up for by the price. Good beer selection. Definitely would come back for lunch if I were around.

Hillsdale House lost it's chef and has a very reduced menu, mostly pizza and sandwiches. The also had fish and chips, which was very good. Service was very friendly and I recommend them for a light dinner.

We tried to get a long with the waitress but.....my good friend who is a veteran waitress of 50+years (White Hart, Interlaken, Old Mill) was trying to find out what came with the entree, she was told mashed and green beans and said is that okay? All four of us were waiting for the options but she never said anymore. It became very awkward at the least when she asked my friend if she was offended and became visibly annoyed. She couldn't explain beer types. We asked for napkins, knife and drink a second time. She said drink took long bc she made it herself. (Bloody Mary was good)Chicken Parm was very good and plentiful but...waitress asked "what's wrong with it) even though we were taking the leftovers to go. Prime Rib was tasty, rare as ordered (horseradish sauce would've been nice), pulled pork was dry and side of BBQ sauce would've been nice. Waitress never told us that green beans were being substituted for zucchini which had way to many seeds and pulp than squash. We were not asked if we wanted desert or coffee. Not sure if we'll be back.

Service was very slow. Food was salty and too saucy on the pulled pork. Would have gave more stars, but I had to get assistance just for salads, almost an hour wait.

I've been going here for years, always good food, mostly good service. Last night we went and got there 7:55, before 8. A guy in a Yankees shirt said, "No serving after 8:00." and he would not serve us.The internet posting said open until 11:00. We drove 45 minutes to get there. I'd never seen that guy before but he was totally rude and there was no reason for that. Went to Four Brothers. Very disappointing evening.

Our waitress was very attentive, however the food took over an hour to arrive. The pizzas tasted like the kind you take out of the freezer and heat up. Something changed with the pizza recipe since the last time we dined there. It was a very disappointing dinner experience.

It's a nice restaurant space w a big menu, but everything we ordered was substandard. prosciutto pizza was replaced by Canadian ham and overtly salty, pull pork was full of gravy but no flavor except syrupy, mac and cheese is simple hard to consume, the kids didn't touch it after a bite and I don't blame them! the waitress are friendly and attentive when we visited on sunday evening.

Bad bad bad tasteless pizza...and I have given them two tries. DONT BOTHER.

When the two of us arrived for dinner, I noticed that they were busy but not full. There were 5 or 6 empty tables. The hostess/server said that she would be with us in a minute. Standing just a few feet from the hostess/server, after about 10 minutes she said that we could take any table that we wanted. What were we waiting for? We now had menus, but no server in site. After being seated for about 20 minutes and watching a nearby table that arrived after us have their order taken by the same hostess/server, I went to look for her. I found her standing next to the bar area doing nothing, instead of her job, which should have included taking our order. I let her know that I was annoyed and she came to take our order. Another 45 minutes passed when she came to explain that the kitchen was behind. Meanwhile, the table that arrived after we did were having their dinner. Our order included salads. After all this time, was it too much to expect that we would have been served the salads? No such luck. We waited a total of 1 and 1/2 hours and finally gave up. Absolutely horrible! That was our 5th or 6th time at the restaurant. It seems that the staff is always overwhelmed. Never again. Not worth the aggravation for average food and menu. If I could give 0 stars I would.
