This is my second time stopping in for a bite to eat. Quick service and a great meal. Their food is cooked hot and fresh. I especially liked their "Big Joe" burger with its crispy tortilla fried chicken breast in between two delectable beef patties. It's the best place for burgers and tacos in the Hilton, Spencerport and Hamlin area.

Oh dear god. The best Mexican-style food I’ve had in Rochester. Every single thing we’ve ever eaten here has been phenomenal. I can’t do chipotle anymore, because it is so subpar by comparison. Jose Joe’s is consistently delicious.

Went to the greece location on Ridgeway ave. I got a basic hard shell and soft shell taco. Very fresh ingredients and toppings. I will be returning to try other items. I love their beef the seasoning is very good.

Tried the food here on a lark about a month ago and was absolutely blown away! Great taste, and at a reasonable price to boot. Since then, ordering from Jose Joe's has become almost a weekly ritual for us. Keep up the great work, guys!

My family and I have become regulars at Jose Joe's. It is Mexican food and burgers at their best. The other members of the family are vegetarians and there is plenty of things to select from. The food is high quality, quickly prepared and served, and the service is top notch. If you go to Hilton, NY make sure you stop in for homemade Mexican food, fairly priced, and served up in a friendly, efficient, and satisfying way.

Great burgers here. I always get the JoJo. Typically have enough leftover to take home. Prices are reasonable for the quality, speed and service here. Always clean tables, never had a bad meal or service here. 10/10 would highly recommend

Best place to eat. I was a little skeptical at first but let me tell you the food was great better than Chiptole. Paul Foster the jerk that gave this excellent restaurant a one star obviously doesn't know what good food tastes like. Further more the atmosphere was great friendly staff and SPOTLESS TABLES. I love this place! They have been a long time bussiness in this town and the food has always felt like it matched the price very well. They seem to take pride in their restaurant and it shows. Always very clean and the atmosphere is relaxed and allows you to enjoy your stay.

Pleasantly surprised and quite impressed. The quality of their ingredients and available (not too common) choices will yield repeat visits from me. The Jose Caliente burrito had the perfect amount of smokiness and spiciness, I definitely concur with others that the fried smashed potatoes are fantastic and their vegetarian patty is outstanding. They don't just toss in some meat substitute afterthought... The homemade veggieburger is one of the best I've tasted. The quantity and quality of the food are matched well to the prices too. Similar-cheaper and definitly better than Moe's/Chipotle. The aesthetics of the interior are pleasant. Clean, modern and warm. I hope they're successful in this small town and have the opportunity to expand. Highly recommended.

As a former Executive Chef, I am picky where and what I eat...I was MORE than pleased and IMPRESSED with my lunch at JOSE JOES! . It was fast, filling, priced right, and most of all DELICIOUS! Mark and his team have a great thing going! I'll be back! (I recommend the garbage burrito! )

We finally went to eat at José Joe's and LOVED it. The place is clean, has decent parking, super nice staff, and great food. We liked it so much we are having José cater our son's graduation party. Try it and treat yourself.

Decent size menu. Food was tasty and a good portion size for the cost. Have eaten at all three locations, and there is consistent quality.

Bad experience. I don't complain usually. I don't like ordering 2 guacamole for 2.69 a piece and not getting it. I checked. Not in there. It's fine.. that's why I check. Asked an employee and they told me it was in the salad underneath everything..really? 2 salads. Not a spec of guacamole. Not on either salad. It's underneath, you just can't see it LOL. That's because it isn't in there..and I DOUBLE CHECKED. A good thing I did, right.....I call the manager who tells me there's guacamole on them..she remembers...whatever. DONE going here. And prices went up, but amount of chicken it seems, went down. Joke.

Stayed the weekend at Lake Ontario in Hilton. Food was amazing, the smashed potatoes were out of this world and the burgers were delicious. Will definitely be hitting up José Joes when we come back. HIGHLY recommend!!

This place is a small treasure in Hamlin NY. I loved the option to have my burrito in a bowl, thereby avoiding gluten, which so cute- they call "naked" so it was just fun to order! It was delicious food, clean, polite staff. There was a sign on the wall indicating they were voted best Taco in Rochester NY!

Highly recommend! What a selection of burgers! I had their homemade chips that came with a creamy cheese dip. I could have eaten this as a meal. Also had a burger (can't remember the name of it but it was spicy and it was good!). Service was fast. Atmosphere is very casual. Conveniently right down the street from the high school so we went there before a soccer game. Check it out!

I highly recommend! You can get great food and even find something for the kids, especially if they are picky eaters like mine. We ordered take out and they have a convenient drive through in the Greece location and got my order perfect every time. They even called me to make sure they got it right. This place is AMAZING! A hidden little gem in a small town on the outskirts of Rochester. Some of the best burritos and nachos I've ever had! My family and I try to get there on Taco Tuesdays as much as we can. Honestly, though they offer burgers and such, I just can't bring myself to not get tacos because they are so good!

The best place to get some good food in Hilton for Burgers & Burritos. Every time I go there I always get the Cookie Dough Burritos they are perfect each and every time. The inside of the restaurant is super cool and everyone is friendly there plus their menu is so satisfying that you want to get everything from the place. I always love going there and I wish that one of these days they will expand and breach out and make more restaurants so everyone can try their great food.

I honestly was so shocked at how amazing the quality is! I had some Jose tacos chicken & beef hard and soft shell. Along with some mini burgers & loaded fries. Everything was so good. I'm so glad they just opened one super close to home! Worth the stop, good quality. #superfresh

I love all the food here, but the salads are AMAZING! And adding the free cravings items to them makes them even better. The Guacamole is SO GOOD that it's well worth the upcharge, too. If you want a real treat, try the garbage burrito!

I have a gluten allergy, so I really appreciate how they can make almost anything on the menu gluten free. We recently went for lunch and the manager was really helpful. I believe the girl on the register was new, and she didn't put in for my burrito to be on the gluten free wrap. When I received my food and questioned the wrap (because let's be honest, it's pretty easy to tell a flour tortillas from a gluten free one) he immediately apologized and put in an order for a new one for me. The issue was quickly resolved and the food was amazing. My husband had a dessert burrito (not gluten free) before we left and he loved it. We will definitely be coming back!

I stopped in here last week, tried the $2 burrito and burger. They were both good, burger was better. Came back the next day and got a full size burger that was delicious. Definitely worth getting the smashed potatoes, I got them loaded, they had lots of queso. Previously had the garbage plate, and it too was great, again, get the smashed potatoes. Today I went for the taco Tuesday special. They were ok. Probably just get a burger next time or try a full size burrito.

Jose Joe's is a great local restaurant. Today (I have been here before several times) I choose to try the Garbage Burrito. A takeoff on the infamous "Garbage Plate" it includes all the traditional ingredients except mustard (so I added some😉). The burrito was delicious. I like plates in general and this was a very good take on it. There are two themes to the restaurant, one on the street and one out back. I have yet to have any bad food here. I will be going again, and again...

Had the jose caliente, and it was, by far, one of the best burritos I've had, that is until I got a big ol bite of dried up pork (which I can forgive, seeing as it was 630pm, and it probably had been sitting in a steam table for a bit at that point).

Got takeout. The chicken sandwich my mom ordered was tasty but the price of chicken was TINY. I enjoyed the tacos... the taco shells were the best taco shells ever! Definitely made on site. I will get tortilla chips for sure next time because if I had to guess, I'll bet they're homemade too... the order was up really quick even though it was reasonably busy on a Saturday night, and the cashier was super patient with my need to separate the taco fixings because of my picky 7 year old. I appreciated that.

We discovered Jose Joe's by accident when reading the food reviews on Google. Very casual, funky, Mexican themed restaurant with a menu that offers a little bit of something for everyone, even if you're not into Mexican food. From burgers, to salads, to a wide variety of Mexican eats. Hands down, Jose Joe's serves up one of THE best tasting burgers in the Rochester area. For $6.99 you can get a delicious grilled 1/3 pound burger. And the battered french fries are crispy and delicious! The service is fast and friendly, and the manager strives for an excellent experience and is quick to correct any problems with a meal. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Definitely better quality and taste than the local burger chain restaurants. We usually stop at Jose Joe's once a week, sometimes more. Overall, really outstanding food for the money. My one and only complaint (and the reason for only 4 stars) is that they tend to overcook the burgers if you tell them cook it "medium". They'll correct a problem if you make them aware of it, but why not get it right the first time? Otherwise, an outstanding place for some good eats. This place is worth the drive, and we'll definitely keep coming back here.

Great meal, was very satisfied. Variety of sauces to choose from, as well some very unique burger options. (Fried mashed potatoes!) Recommendation: the Three Amigos Burrito with a side of loaded nachos. Seating is somewhat limited, although I have never had a problem. Parking is non-existent, with the exception of roadside on the street. Edit: Had to make another visit, and update my recommendation: the Taco fries are a must.

Wasn't particularly thrilled, the nachos are really good minus the olives who puts olives on nachos? But the taco seem to lack flavor not impressed but the Foods fresh the restaurants clean prices are a little high

Food is great, service is poor for the price. Order taker gave my family the look when we showed up 45 minutes before they closed. Then 5 minutes before they closed came over to tell us they were closing in 5 minutes...just to let us know...in an obviously annoyed at our presence way. We were packing up already. She didn't need to say a thing. Not the way you want to be treated after dropping $70 for burgers and tacos.

Everything we've had on the menu has been absolutely delicious. Fresh ingredients, made-to-order, quick service, priced right, clean restaurant, minutes from my home AND friendly staff?! It's a win-win all around. (That was my review from three years ago.) Something's changed. My husband's go-to is the garbage burrito. He loves it. This time around it was definitely lacking. It was mostly mac salad. Please, fix this.

Personally, I didn't like the veg burrito bowl. It was not tasty or flavorful but other meat dishes and side dishes were awesome as testified by my wife.

Decent food but way too much with the red onions. Thick large chunks of red onion on everything... It ruins it. The burger patties on the garbage bowl were pretty rare any more pink and it would be dangerous.

The burger was very small for a $7 burger. A little well done too. We ordered a chicken burrito too . But, rec'd a garbage burrito instead ; (

Great atmosphere, the burritos we ordered for take out tasted "fishy" for some reason. One was Carne and other was chicken. The tacos were OK. I had to remove all the tomatoes for them. They had a chemical taste. The salad that we ordered was ok.

Didn't really like having to wait for other customers to decide what they wanted to order when all I was doing was picking up my to-go order. I watched my already made and ready to go food in the window for 20 minutes before I was able to get it. The checkout process is frustrating to say the least. I would pay over the phone or online if that meant that I wouldn't have to stand around waiting watching my food get cold. This is the management issue and I don't blame the people working behind the counter. Not worth the wait.

So, I will say that the ingredients wete good quality. Flavors were spot on and the hot sauce bar is really cool. The staff were friendly and service was quick. That said, my burrito was leaking. And not sauce but like....well, almost water. I would've thought they would want to drain whatever they put on there that must have been clearly still dripping with liquid, but no. My wife ordered the garbage bread bowl. There was almost no hot sauce on the meal and the bread "bowl" was literally a loaf of bread about the size of her head, not the golden crispy "chalupa" type you would think came with a "bread bowl". My biggest issue, was a burrito, and the bread bowl plate, plus 2 drinks was over $50. Truth be told I could have gone to Moe's, dropped $30 and gotten a better meal with similar atmosphere.

I would like to say that the restaurant overall was clean, and the staff were very friendly. The majority of why this is getting such a low rating was because the food was absolutely abominable. I decided to try their $2 burritos as well as their $2 cheeseburger just to see the basics of what they had. The beans taste like they are straight from a can without any additional seasoning. My chicken and beef burritos were put in tortillas that were much too large, leaving a massive wad of bread in the middle of them. I top that, the meat sauce was slightly sweet and the chicken tasted like it was being masked over by the cheese and completely otherwise lacking in anything Tex-Mex seasoned. The cheeseburger was dry and the cheese was mostly flavorless. Everything was dominated by the enormous amount of ketchup and mustard place on the dry old bun. If I had gotten this same kind of burger at a major chain, I would have expected my money back. All in all, I would greatly advise the owner of this restaurant to rework their recipes. That said, I do want to again emphasize the place was clean the staff was great. If that's all that matters to you, then this place is great.

We visit the Hilton location. Steadily over the last 3 years it’s gone downhill. Portions get smaller and smaller. We asked for a side of large guac and they gave us this. It was 75% tomatoes. Disappointing when you compare it to how it used to be.

Foods always has a problem. Last order I picked up was ice cold the tacos were... the snippy sassy manager I'm sure you can guess who it is by that said he wouldn't credit my 8 tacos. He said that the tacos are always cold well so is this review!

WORST FOOD EVER. Dont bother. Steak meat was insanely burnt not just will done but burnt as in crispy. The meat hot sauce was the meat they used in the beef burritos, tasted like nothing but cinnamon. Rice and beans were not even nuke warm. Literally disgusting

We ordered 2 burgers with the breaded nacho chicken added and a large smashed potatoes. The burgers were soooo dry , they seemed like they were cooked 2+ hours before. The chicken also was the sam incredibly dry. The smashed potatoes had about half smashed and deep fried. The rest were just regular salt potatoes. My husband picked up the $41 order and said there were nothing but kids standing around talking. No one else in the store (so our burgers should have been cooked but were over cooked like shoe leather). I sent a message to JoseJoes privately and basically got a nice kiss off response. They said thanks for your input, we hope to see u soon. I am not looking for compensation as we didn't return our order....too tired. We just threw it away. BEWARE OF THE HILTON STORE, THEY DONT CARE, AT ALL!@@

chorizo burger gave my friend food poisoning. we ate here monday night, and a hours after we ate he became sick, throwing up and unable to keep food down. ended up missing two days of work. service was fine, just very annoying that it made him so sick. will not be back lol

I wanted to like this chain, but can't. 1st time I went there, not impressed. But I thought, maybe I just had a bad meal. So Friday 2/11/22 - I ordered 2 mini meat/cheese burritos and rice, beans in side. Had intestinal problems starting 2/12 AM and they lasted the entire day. And sadly I was visiting relatives during this fiasco. So I don't know if they don't keep their meat/cheese hot enough throughout the day? But really a TERRIBLE experience. I should have learned from the first mediocre visit to stay away...

I don’t know what happened but I used to love this place. Yesterday 7/14/2022 I ordered two burritos. First off they didn’t think to mention there was a carnival going on and I am not from Hilton so I had no clue. I had to go way out of my way and walk there to get my food. Thats not even the worst part… my Dad and I both ate our burritos. It was the only thing I had to eat. I went to bed and woke up at 6:40am with the worst stomach pain I have ever had. My Dad also had the same symptoms. I without a doubt have food poisoning currently. I have been on the toilet all day, throwing up and have a fever. I will never come back here again and I suggest you don’t either unless you want to risk feeling like death. I see two other commenters say the same thing so thats 4 people now that have gotten food poisoning from this place.

I've only been here twice but I will not be returning again. All I ever heard was good things about this place, unfortunately I have nothing good to say. Mac salad wasn't the best and the chicken sandwich I got the first time I went was comparable to a cheap fast food chicken sandwich, if not worse. The second time I ordered a garbage plate and the burgers were literally raw. Not even rare, raw. So I ended up returning the whole meal, that I was actually looking forward to eatting. I didn't even take one bite... and I won't be going back. The staff was young but polite about me returning my food.

Me and my wife ordered a steak burrito, at first I thought they just forgot to put onions and peppers in, tomatoes and lettuce.. to find out all of it was on the bottom. I called twice, the first time the girl said to just stop by they will remake it but to call ahead. When I called the second time to order the replacement burrito, she took my name and number down said a manager would call back after dinner rush.... I am extremely disappointed in the service and quality of food,portions are way smaller etc compare to what it was a year ago.
