Fantastic Chinese food! Delicious flavors, fresh ingredients, and generous portions. The staff is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
Food was good, hot and delicious. Male cashier was very sweet and courteous. Customer service is always good. Been eating here for years. My fav is the fried rice and cut hot wings
My favorite Chinese restaurant!!!! Me and my husband have been coming to Moon Star for years. The food is absolutely delicious and always fresh. The owners are the nicest people you will ever meet and they put a lot of love into their food. Plus they give you huge portions!!! We moved away recently and I drive 1 hour and 15 mins just to eat here. I would give more star's if I could. Thank you Moon Star for always making my family happy.😋
My sister and I have eaten from this place since approximately 2009. The food is pretty good and cooked fresh when ordered. I love their egg rolls, boneless spare ribs, and honey lemon pepper wings! Oh and let me not forget the tea, fruit punch, or lemonade they make and sell by container. All good!
The best Chinese takeout we've had, hands down. We planned to save half of it for leftovers, but ended up eating all of it tonight because it was so delicious! Pickup was so easy and the employees were so kind. We will definitely be back to eat at Moon Star again!
This place is a hidden gem. Let me start off by saying that the food has been amazing 100% of the time. I have never had a single disappointing dish off of the menu and I've tried a bunch. They're hot, fresh, made to order, and delicious. With that said, you need to be prepared for some peculiarities. There is, of course, the language barrier. The foreign couple that owns it are very nice, but their English isn't that great. The lady who takes the orders is better at understanding than she is at speaking. She's legible, just be aware that you might have to show a little patience. Also, the couple's kids stay there in the restaurant when they're not at school. They bring their laptops and sit around studying or playing League of Legends with each other. They've never gotten in my way, but some people might find their presence unusual. Personally, it reminds me that I'm supporting a family owned business. I find that endearing, and I'm even happier to give them my business.
I couldn’t wait to get home to give this place one star. I was under the impression by some of the pics that the fried rice came with some type of veggie like peas and carrots . Just onion and the greens onions they had to add after the fact . However, my attitude changed once I tasted the food ! I was surprised at how good it taste . Veggies were cooked very well and everything overall had a great taste . I don’t even eat the brown sauce that came with it but as I type I’m tearing it up! Lol Not my first choice for Chinese just due to personal preference (I like my veggies in my friend rice!) . Also I’m use to a larger portion size for what I paid (a little over $16 ) but this was definitely a hit ! The front lady was every patient cause I knew she could tell I was disappointed. I did not try to hide . I will be back to try some other items now that I l now what to expect ! By the way I got the house friend rice and steam veggie plate.
It’s often overlooked because it’s near a popular Asian restaurant, but if you’re looking for a Chinese fast food, this is a good pick. It’s located in an old strip mall with tight parking, so order online and opt for pick up, dining in isn’t a good option. We got boneless spare ribs, house fried rice and general tso’s chicken. It all tasted great and portions were good enough, prices are just average for 2023.
Food was ok. The steamed dumplings I ordered were a little bit under cooked. The dough was thick & chewy a little bit. The sauce was on point! Very good, what was left in the little container. The lid wasn't put on all the way,so over half the sauce was spilled out mostly in the bottom of the bag but some of it made it in my dumpling container that the lid also was loose and open. A small amount in my beef fried rice ,the rest in the bottom of the paper bag.😢 It tasted great tho wish it hadn't spilled out. And this is the first place where they charge you for chop sticks that I've come across. Prices were very reasonable. Service was short and direct. They weren't busy at the time of my visit as far as customers in the restaurant. Only a couple of people coming in to order and leave and a few coming in to pick up. Waiting time was fairly reasonable. The food comes to you good and hot.. all in all not a bad place just needs to slow down just a little bit and pay attention to the little details that count. Like making sure all lids are on and stay on , all o the food being cooked throughly and a little bit more of a relaxed smile and how are you doing today.
The taste is great, but the chicken is... weird? Like, they fried the breading and then shoved tiny pieces of chicken into the breading. It just makes the chicken taste slimy because it's mostly breading. Other than that it tasted pretty good.
I don’t leave reviews very often, but this was some of the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. The shrimp fried rice was just rice sautéed in oil with a few shrimp, no veggies, no egg, and no shrimp after the first inch or two of rice. The general tso’s chicken was greasy and bland, the sauce was thin and greasy. Only reason for 2 stars is the service was quick and polite
There is a noticeable difference in the taste of the food. I just ordered the same thing I always have and the wing are tasteless . Barely seasoned ,the chicken fried rice the same tasted so bland. I’m use to your stuff tasting very good. I don’t know what happened today
I ordered some LoMein and fish. The LoMein was too saucy and oily. The fish was OVER FRIED tasted like premade frozen fish that’s been refried. I could’ve cooked better Chinese food, I wish I did instead of ordering. Lesson learned!!!!!
I got Shrimp Lo Mein, my daughter got Spare ribs and son got Chicken (whole wings) and fries. ALL OF IT WAS NASTY. Shrimp taste old noodle where dry, Chicken waa rubbery, Ribs tasted werid and was chewy. Haven't ate here in over 2 years and itll be another 2 years before I order there again!
For it to be New Year’s Day I expected it to be slow as it’s normally a decent crowd on a normal day (not my first visit) this time around, I noticed that my fried rice was very mushy, the shrimp tasted overcooked, no type of firmness. Extremely soft, I had to check to make sure I was picking up shrimp on my fork. Rice was very oily. Seemed like it was precooked and it was warmed up or something. Nothing but onions unless you pay to add egg. Also got the crab Rangoon and the sauce tasted like fruit punch kool aid.. no kidding—very thin consistency and super sweet! It was enough to turn me off and make this my last visit. For the price, I expect quality, not some warmed up pre cooked food. Won’t be going back! DISGUSTING
I ordered vegetable lo mein and got spaghetti noodles with brown water with literally 1 vegetable. ONE! It literally had no flavor to it, not to mention it had a piece of broccoli on top of a box of the brown water spaghetti, maybe it was for garnish. I will definitely avoid this restaurant in the future. Oh, do not drink the tea, it's some weird chemical-tasting lemon tea-ish. One star for the cute authentic Chinese fold up carry out boxes with the metal handle, made me wish I had chopsticks until I opened it.
This was our 4th time ordering from Moon. All other times the food was great this time not so great. Nasty jelly like sauce flavor wasn't seasoned like the other times. Mixed vegetables were only lots of broccoli 2 sliced carrots 2 pieces of cabbage, shrimp egg roll had 1 baby shrimp and was old tasting. horrible food this time spent almost 50 bucks here not worth it. Very disappointing. We came expecting the same delightful meal we had the other times. Young lady a That took our order was very nice and friendly.
Don’t let these comments mislead you. Price are high and food is terrible for no reason at all. The meals, even the large meals, don’t come with egg rolls. When you get house fried rice or lo mein you can’t make it into a meal. Then, my large lo mein was bunched up into a small container. I also ordered pepper steak and it was served with white rice. For all that, save your money and make it at home. They didn’t even give any soy sauce in the bag or anything to help with this under seasoned meal. I ordered large juices and they were in containers you put food into, maybe that’s what my meal’s supposed to be in. No seasoning!!!! Oh lastly, they gave me napkins like what you dry your hands with in the restroom.
When I tell you this place was disgusting today🤢🤮 The wings are enormous like scary big. The shrimp fired rice doesn't come with egg like most places, but it's normal chopped up better then it was today. I've eaten here at least 7 times and I was loving it before they decided to get these huge wings. I will never go back. The shrimp was so tiny, it look like it came from the dollar tree. I HATE they change their wings to steroid wings cause they are gross very nasty. I couldve went to green acres and got a way better meal for what I paid. Change the wings back to the normal size wings.
