Louie's is generally well-regarded for its food and friendly service. Many praise the specialty dishes, garlic knots, and pizza. Some find the atmosphere sterile or the temperature too cold. A few experienced inconsistent service or bland pizza.

Highly recommend. Steaks were served perfectly. Great calamari and antipasto.
We chose Louie’s to close out our 25th anniversary night, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. The atmosphere was incredibly inviting, and the service was outstanding. Our waitress was super friendly, cheerful, and excellent at her job. The food was top-notch—both my husband and I were thoroughly impressed. We’ve already decided that whenever we have guests visiting, Louie’s will be a go-to spot. We moved to the area on January 1, 2023, and while it’s only been two years, it feels amazing to have discovered such a gem just a few blocks away. Louie’s has a vibe that reminded me of the show Cheers—a place where everyone knows your name. The management was super friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. This is the kind of place where you’re treated well, enjoy fantastic food, and leave feeling like part of the community. We’ll definitely be back, and if you haven’t been here yet, what are you waiting for? Whether it’s a special occasion, a casual night out, or just a craving for delicious food, Louie’s is a must-visit. You won’t be disappointed!
Service is good and the food is amazing. So are the cooks amazing and friendly 10/1000.
Long time customer with always a great experience. They seem to be always adding more rooms to make the atmosphere feel better and personal. Garlic knots, greens and beans, spicy shrimp appetizers are superb every time.
Had 7 guys on a road trip, we called ahead and they had a table for us when we got there. Friendly service and the pizza was fantastic.
I really liked their food! The garlic knots and dessert were the right choices and delicious.. but the pasta was good.. not my favorite sausage or meatballs in the Louie’s Pasta that we ordered. Huge quantities of food! 2 people can easily share. I wish we had got a pizza instead of that pasta or a different one. We had a good bottle of wine and the decor is industrial and comfortable. I’d eat there again if in the area
Louie’s has become my favorite place to dine within the greater Corning-Elmira area. Every course of food is exquisite—from the Classic Shrimp Scampi & Bruschetta appetizers to the side salad comprised of baby arugula, red, yellow & orange peppers, grape tomatoes, cucumbers and croutons with house Italian dressing, to the main course. I love the wide array of Italian pasta entrée specials consistently offered, as well as the delectable homemade desserts. Tiramisu has been my favorite thus far, but I have yet to try the cannoli or homemade ice cream sandwich with Nutella. Oh, and not to be forgotten—the wine list is always populated with a stupendous lineup of wine choices from around the world. This quaint little street corner restaurant is has a crisp and classy atmosphere with a menu and service that will not disappoint. EVERYTHING tastes great!
We recently had a family gathering at Louies in Hanover Square for 50 people. The food (buffet) was great and the staff was awesome. They were very helpful organizing the event with us. The Food selection process for the buffet was really easy. And all of the Staff were very pleasant and professional throughout the event. I recommend booking a gathering there.
I have to update this review, I had the basic pizza on my last visit and unfortunately it was bland. The crust was limp and flat almost like it was rolled out instead of stretched, there was no fermentation bubbles the cheese and sauce was good but the pizza was not worth taking home. The salads, chicken piccata and the service was very good. The service was very good, the first margarita pizza was outstanding easily a 9 crispy crust no flop the second was a flop. The rest of the food was very good My wife had the chicken piccata said it was delicious
The food is some of the best in the area. The atmosphere is maybe a bit sterile, and each time I've eaten at Louie's the temperature has been in freezing to the point I wish I had brought a jacket in July.
My wife found this place online. The decor is awesome with a combination of rustic and classic. I ordered a margarita personal pizza just to try and it was worth it! Took it home to eat later. My wife ordered the beans & greens, she's a connoisseur, said it was one of the best she had! We both ordered chicken parmigiana, I the breaded with fettuccine and hers grilled with gluten-free pasta. Both very good. We finished splitting the cannoli Sundae and very good decaf coffee.
The food was wonderful, everything expertly crafted with one small exception (shrimp were a bit overcooked and slightly chewy). Pizza was wonderful (first time trying). Pro tip: if you order the Bruschetta (amazing 😍) have that sent out by itself first if you are ordering multiple appetizers or it will get a bit soggy. Only complaint : it was pretty slow when we were there (2 - 3 other tables total) but service was slow to refill and check in (she seemed to be pretty busy talking to the customer at the bar). Very friendly but just not very attentive for a slow night.
I've eaten here a half dozen times the past couple months. I've gotten pizza, chicken parm, veil saltimbocca, and the chicken saltimbocca. Pizza and chicken parm is mediocre. Both saltimbocca dishes are terrible, dry, sauceless. Gnocchi overcooked each time. Sliced deli half folded on top with a slice of store bought cheese on a deep fried chicken breast...that is NOT how saltimbocca is made. Where's the white wine/butter sauce?? The atmosphere is great and the service is barely average. I dont know what happend to this place the past couple of years but it's food has declined dramatically.
We got the new girl, again. We’ve been here six times this week. We understand she doesn’t always know what she’s doing yet and needs time to learn. However, today I called ahead to make sure they were going to have a burger on the lunch menu and they said they would so we came for lunch She didn’t know what it came with she didn’t know what was on it so we said as long as there’s no mayonnaise that’s fine. We got a burger and some kind of a maybe a sourdough bread. No just bread. She should’ve told us that. On the bill, it was written up as a bacon Swiss burger. We didn’t know it came with Swiss cheese. She did not tell us that we would’ve chosen. We would’ve taken bacon also. But we did not know. We were charged for a bacon cheeseburger, which in most establishments are more expensive, but she insisted that it was the same price. While discussing it some tall, dark haired guy in the kitchen made a snide comment that we could’ve gone to Burger King. He didn’t know I could hear him. Very unprofessional. When I brought it up to someone at the counter, who seemed like they worked there. He said he didn’t say anything. I said no you didn’t but someone in the kitchen did. And we don’t have to come here for lunch, but we chose to. And my friend said well we won’t be coming back.
Good place to carry out food by paying cash. Dine in exp- Their pizzas and appetizers are quite tasty. Applauding service. People who can't handle spice, be careful with their Spicy Shrimp. In general, all their dishes with peppers. The hot peppers make the dish very hot; thus, it's quite tasty! We went there twice. And both the times, they did not have tiramisu, which was a huge disappointment. So, for a complete Italian experience, I wouldn't recommend this place. For trying good food, definitely. *Carry cash* They charge an additional 4-5% for all cards. I carry multiple cards everywhere (credit & debit), so that I can use the business's preferred one. But here, only cash will save you. This makes visiting this place quite expensive. Could be a 4.5 ⭐️ place if they would stop charging for cards and plan better to not run out of menu items. Overall 3.5/5
The place was crowded on a Friday night, but not too loud. We waited for about 15 mins before we were seated (we had a reservation). The waitstaff were friendly and attentive. The house wine and craft beer were decent. Since the entrees came with a soup or salad, we did not order any appetizers. We both had the Seafood ala Louie, where seafood included shrimp and langostinos. Shrimp were done perfectly, but langostinos were not as tender. I did not notice that the dish was to be topped with pecorino romano (clearly stated in the menu). The cheese was too pungent for me. So I only picked out the seafood and did not eat the pasta. This was my own mistake as my husband enjoyed the dish.
My sister and I came in at 5:15 today. We were seated and waited for a server no one came to our table. 6 ppl were standing behind the bar talking. So I went up and said do I need to place my drink and food order here? Server said do u need a waitress? Yes I said we have had no one come to my table with the restaurant almost empty. No one still came so we left. Will never be back. Too busy decorating for Christmas to wait on us!!
Let me preface this review by saying it will almost seem unbelievable because it is considered a “reputable” restaurant in Horseheads. Last week, my family made reservations for 10 at 5:30 on Tuesday for my niece’s birthday dinner. We all got there and our drink orders were taken. The non-alcoholic drinks came fairly quickly. Our bar drinks took exceptional long bc apparently there wasn’t a bartender working (it was apparent bc my margarita came in a highball glass and tasted like just the sour mix). I’m not sure who was making the drinks but they did finally come. Eventually our food orders were taken and we figured it would take a bit considering there were 10 of us. However, when a party of 4 was seated next to us about 30 min after we sat down and got their meal, it became apparent this would be that awkwardly long wait. The server would come back every now and then to assure us our food was coming. (Mind you, I drove an hour w a 7 year old to celebrate). Just before 7, my mom got up from the table and found another waitress to ask her to go back and check on our meal. By that time, my son was a mess and our waitress came and asked if we just wanted it boxed up to go. We said if it was coming in the next few minutes, we’d wait. By 7:15 we had our meals in front of us (remember we got there at 5:30 w a reservation) Most of the meals were cold but we could at least eat before we had to drive back an hour. We boxed up our leftover food and took some cake that my sister in law brought to celebrate to go. Our total for ten of us came to about 420 dollars and on top of that included the tip since it was a larger table. Now here’s where it gets crazy. My brother, who has frequented this place, decided to drive back when it opened on Wednesday to just talk to the owner about our experience. When he got there the bartender said the owner was not there but that she’d have him call. A few hours later, my brother got a call, not from the owner (I hope), that said if he wanted to “pull up out front of the restaurant, they could settle this like real men.” My brother was shocked that this was the response and obviously did not take him up on his offer. My recommendation: stay away from this place, especially if you dare say anything is wrong, you might find yourself “settling things up with Louie in the back parking lot,” whatever that means. Next time I’m in town, we will go to hibachi across the street.
Went here to meet up with old friends. Waitress was awesome and did great. Things turned EXTREMELY uncomfortable when we had pizzas on our table eating, and another patron came in and proceeded to lift her dress and moon our table and proceed to talk about how one of our members looked like “a movie star.” Uncomfortable, so immediately asked for the check. The owner (or who someone told me was the owner, I am not sure), proceeded to in a sarcastic tone say “something wrong with your order?” Mind you this is not a cheap place, so I thought. Waitress great though.
Disappointing take-out. Ordered and paid for a bowl of pomodoro soup and got only a tiny sliver of soup in my cup. Also, the complementary bread was missing (even though a side of butter was included). This has been an issue for the past few years. If you want good portions, head across the street to Nick’s! Only order the soup if you wish to starve.
