This place is literally my childhood! I visited after years and it still tastes like I remember it! It has not changed one bit. The sides are still delicious and the chicken is the best! Service is great and the prices you cannot beat!!! 10/10 definitely recommend!

This is definitely a place you get to go, although there are picnic tables and tables inside, the chicken is moist and delicious, tried a couple of their sides, the chicken is the star. I would get a whole chicken and eat off pf it for days, tastes the same from day 1 to day 2. I think there is lime infused and it is just so tasty.

If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Colombia in a chill environment, look no further. Dodo’s has a special place in my heart, I came here all the time growing up. 20+ years later they’re still standing strong and that is a testament to the taste and quality here! The Colombian Pollo Asado is really tender/juicy, and it’s a staple of the place. They have a lot of traditional Colombian sides, too (fried yucca, plantains, empanadas) and ofc Colombiana soda. Definitely worth coming if you have never, I recommend it!

I've been coming here for close to a decade and the quality and price can't be brat. Rumored to be marinated in fanta soda, the rotisserie chicken is the main draw. I'm also a fan of the hushpuppies, veggie rice and fried sweet plantains. The lunch special is 1/4 with 3 sides and a drink and will cost about $9.

Dodos Chicken is a humble Colombian wood-grilled chicken rotisserie place where the star of the show is the Chicken. It is a small counter service place where you place your order and then take it and eat outside or in a bigger dining room adjoining the place. This area has 4 different Colombian restaurants stone's throw away from eat other. But this restaurant stands out as it just serves a humble chicken with some sides that do not take away the spotlight from the chicken. There is always chicken spinning on the rotisserie and that just tells you how busy they do get. The rush is not too bad as most people tend to get their food to go. The chicken is served as quarter, half, or whole chicken. You can choose white or dark. We tend to get the quarter chicken with a side. Our favorite side there is the sweet plantains (Maduros). A side note if you ever get a chance to try sweet plantains with cheese go for it you will never regret it. They even have savory plantains (Tostones) with rice and beans. I have tried their empanadas in the past as I love empanadas and the ones served here are decent but nothing to go rushing back to get it again. I love their salsas that come with the chicken. I tend to drain the liquid and use the rest on my chicken. It is much spicier than traditional Colombian fare, it seems more Mexican.

Solid chicken, it’s kinda rotisserie/bbq. The corn fritters and plantains were also quite good. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

Customer service waa good. Counter guy explained and answered my questions with a smile. Ordered 2 orders of 2pc dark meat, empenada, fries, rice, sweet plantain and horchata for about $20. SO didn't care for the chicken. He said it was on the salty side, i didnt think it was too salty tho. The meat came off the bone very easily. The fries were not that great, plain and didn't have that crisp factor. The rice had a couple hard/dried rice grains mixed in. The horchata was ok. The plantains were good but i like them in general so that may not say much lol. I usually eat it w.cream but it comes solo here. If they have cream, you might have to ask? Altho it wasnt THE greatest... i would come back if i was in the area amd needed a quick bite...

It’s pretty good chicken if you’re in the mood for fresh grilled chicken and some Latin flavors but would not recommend for a clean atmosphere that is the only downside, extremely outdated, extremely hot I don’t even think they have AC on. The tables you have to clean yourself and they’re are all filthy including the trash cans that are all filled up to the BRIM! I mean come on you can’t take the trash out and wipe down some tables? Idk it’s decent but wouldn’t recommend to sit and enjoy your meal.

Unfortunately after many years visiting and been one of my favorite restaurants today very disappointed…. to the owner you can do better don’t let this place go down . Manager in charge didn’t do anything .

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service I received this evening. At approximately 7:30 PM, I placed an online order. When I arrived at the establishment, the doors were closed and employees were inside cleaning. Shortly after, an employee came outside and informed me they were no longer in service and told me to return the next morning for a refund. I was confused as to why I was allowed to place an online order if the establishment was already closed. I asked for proof or written confirmation that I would be able to receive my refund in the morning, but the employees refused to provide any assistance. When I requested to speak with a manager, the manager chose to yell from inside the establishment rather than come outside to address the situation professionally. Additionally, the employee attempted to compare their phone service issues to their refusal to serve customers, which was inappropriate and dismissive. It was also concerning that I was only taken seriously and issued a refund after I began speaking in Spanish. If I had not spoken Spanish, it appeared that the matter would not have been resolved. The employees and management should be trained to communicate respectfully with customers and take responsibility for operational errors, rather than placing blame on customers for issues beyond their control. I hope this matter is reviewed and addressed to prevent similar experiences for other customers

Disappointing & Non-Transparent Pricing I ordered a family meal from Dodo’s Chicken that clearly states four sides are included. Despite this, I was charged additional fees for sides that were already part of the meal, specifically plantains. I was told plantains cost around $1.05, yet my receipt reflects charges exceeding $4, with no clear explanation, itemization, or disclosure that this was an “extra” or “upgrade.” No additional sides were ordered beyond what the meal includes. Under Texas consumer protection law, businesses are required to clearly disclose pricing, surcharges, and any additional fees before charging customers. Charging undisclosed or misleading fees for included items raises serious concerns about billing accuracy and transparency. Food may be decent, but customers should not have to question or dispute charges for items advertised as included. I recommend reviewing your receipt carefully before paying.

Absolutely disappointed with the food, the customer service, and the entire experience from the moment we walked in. The woman at the register was not welcoming and offered no help in understanding the menu or the ordering options. I’ve had rotisserie chicken from many restaurants, and this was by far the worst experience. I do not recommend this place.
