Two catfish and three shrimp combo is off the chain definitely recommend! Perfectly fried crispy the catfish melts in your mouth and the shrimp are perfectly cooked hit every time. It comes with tartar sauce which is very buttery and melts perfectly into the fried catfish and shrimp. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very welcoming and is family Friendly with a touch of sassy not far off from Louisiana. If you looking for some authentic Louisiana affordable pricing and good portions definitely the spot to come. You'll be full and satisfied but always wanna come back for another taste. Food is so good even after eating it The taste lingers in ya mouth absolutely delicious and the staff are God-fearing people most importantly ! The line be out on the street so make sure you get there at a good time because it is very packed and popular. People come all over the city to eat here but definitely is worth the wait.

Y'all, this chicken was amazing. I ate the first order, then went back and ordered some to take with me. The chicken is seasoned to the bone. I had red beans and rice with the first order. The 2nd order I had dirty rice. It was good! The restaurant was clean! The staff was very friendly, helpful and pleasant. I was shocked at how clean the kitchen was when I looked over the counter. I really enjoyed the food and hospitality. I will be back before my vacation is over!!

I've been wanting to try Frenchy's for some time. I finally made the trip to Scott from the east side. Fantastic! My #2 chicken behind Loveless Cafe, Nashville Tennessee. Food was fantastic. Employees were very friendly. Addicted at first bite.

A gd H town institution. Frenchys used to not look like this but the flavor is still there. If you went to UH you were blessed with some of the best fried chicken around. It’s a beautiful thing to see how it looked like v the new location now. Now I’m aware this isn’t exactly a new location per se BUT I hadn’t been to Frenchys since Obamas 2nd term, just never worked out I dunno. Bae also went to UH so we decided on stopping by after the football game and let traffic die down. Chicken Tenders 8/10 - they do fried chicken right. Flavor might be an 8.4 but there was this weird end that was drier than the Sahara. That taste lingered. Red Beans and Rice 7.5/10 - too runny and not enough rice. A great place for fried chicken when it's fresh...! Not the most comfortable place to sit in, the atmosphere could use a lot of work. But hey it's a fried chicken joint. The staff tends to take an extremely long time to get the food out. This could be the process they use. Use is just a bit outdated, as they don't do a great job at prioritizing orders that you come out faster. It appears as though they have poor communication amongst each other (staff). Or they just don't care. To add, it's extremely pricey for the low quality in customer service.

We ate here for lunch , I love the building and outside area. We got the king plate, the chicken had alot of fat, every bite was crunchy but had jiggling fat inside. No hot sauce, so I spend .50 cents on a jalapeño . There is no napkins outside the counter. You get 1 ketchup packet and a wipe inside the bag. The people behind the counter were nice and all had something to do.

Chicken had a peppery flavor and was juicy. There’s no spicy flavor but the combo comes with a jalapeño pepper. You get a choice of cornbread or roll and 1 side. Overall, the chicken was good but the cornbread and dirty rice were not that great. Cornbread was a bit dry and dirty rice was too mushy. Also, they don’t serve mash potatoes and gravy anymore which was a huge letdown.

Something happened to Frenchy’s, it’s just not what it used to be. The chicken reminded me of the chicken you get at Kroger or grocery stores with hot food, and the wings were objectively small. The fish was good, but that’s about it. The “fast lane” doesn’t have the whole menu on it. We wanted fish and boudin egg rolls, but had to get back in line once we realized it just wasn’t on the kiosk. Tables were sticky too, not because of food, it was like the finish or something. Just go to Gus’ or Timmy chans for chicken. Yes, Timmy chans.

Overall, it’s a 3.5 out of 5. The seasonings is what brings you back. Top tier. Now here’s my always dilemma with this location. 1. I ordered the catfish and fry and a 5 piece wing to eat there. Both the chicken and the fish was warm. That’s not cool if I’m paying $30 for my food. It should be fresh for the amount of time it took to wait for it. Only got 3 ketchups with both meals, one wipe and zero hot sauces or tartar sauce packs for my fish and missing my second roll. Suggestion: All eat in orders need to be made to order. Leave all take outs for the line. Eating in should always be a great experience! Why should I have to eat warm food when I’m paying hot cash. Nothing upsets me like paying my money and my food ain’t hot. And the cashier should be prepared to ask if you want specific condiments when order specific meals. Hot sauce and chicken go together like Fish, hot sauce and tartar sauce. Please do better next time.

12/18/25 Drove 1hr 45min to come see my in law graduate had a quick stop at frenchies the lady in register really nice and sweet. We sat down waited 5min and my husband heard his name he went up to get his order and some other guy got up turns out they have almost the same name just one letter difference my husband asked for the order number and one of the leads gave him the dirtiest look and said “who are you” and my husband respectfully said sorry I heard my name and she just gave him the ugliest and most unprofessional look and walked away there was no way we were going to continue our order he went to register to cancel and that’s how we found out she was one of the leads she said “she has grease on her hands and sweat up her spine that’s why she had an attitude”. I’ve worked in fast food myself the amount of ppl that were in there was nothing to stress about if she can’t handle a hand amount of ppl and give good customer service I don’t know who gave her the lead position but they both need to go back to training and relearn the basics to learn how to give customer service. I've heard so much about this location of Frenchy's and I was overdue to try it. Couldn't believe how speechless I left The chicken was crispy but it was pure salt just as the fries were. We just could not eat another bite and ended up throwing it all away. I hardly ever throw food away, but this time was an exception. The white meat was very dry and chewy despite being fresh. The dark meat was slightly softer and juicy, but not to the level I was expecting. We only enjoyed the lemon cake and peach cobbler. The people working here just didn't look happy to be there and it showed in their service. The restaurant was clean and met a couple of friendly customers. They got their food before us and had the same experience from the fried chicken as we did! The difference between here and Gus's is night and day.
