They must have a new chef because the food is so good! This is probably my favorite family style dining on Bellaire now. The lunch portions and pricing is fantastic. I've came here for dinner as well. Get the honey sauce with beef short ribs and the lobster. Restrooms are clean as well and the place doesn't have a weird smell.
Always on the hunt for the best chinese restauarant in Houston. We didn't want to miss out on the Lucky Dragon. Although our server did not speak English, we were able to identify some tasty dishes. We ordered the Honey Sauce Shrot Ribs and the Sizzling Beef. Both of these dishes were fantastic and highly recommended. Portions were decent size but you will definitely want to order one dish per person at the table. They brought out a good initial portion of rice and refilled it when needed. Enjoyed the authentic homestyle experience. P.s.- They brought out forks but they were kind enough to bring chopsticks upon request.
We went during lunch and had a great experience. Service was warm and efficient. The flat noodle with beef had the delicious wok taste and the beef dishes with bitter melon and Chinese broccoli did not disappoint.
Great place to try! Highly recommend the General Tso, and the Shrimp with Chinese Vegetables. The wonton soup is also a must, one of my favorites! We also order the hot and sour soup, egg rolls and Mongolian Beef, all were delicious 😋 The fresh lobster 🦞 out tank is next to try 👀
Had this place for take out twice. I love their general tso chicken. It was right amount of sauce and the chicken was lightly breaded, just enough to know its there. The kung pao wasn't bad either, tho I wish it had peanuts or cashews. Wonton soup was great! Hot and sour was alright( not spicy enough, with a slight sweetness to it) I did try their shrimp with Chinese vegetables and it was up to par with the General Tso. I will definitely be ordering those again. Give this place a try! I also want to try a fresh lobster dish(will edit review)
Small family owned restaurant- fully deserves 5 stars. Food is authentic, great flavor and taste. Seafood is super fresh (literally live in front of you)
My chinese friend took me here. Kinda similar to a place I've had before but the foods better at least. It was mainly empty for lunch, but I like that. Would come here again.

Our social group was dinning it Lucky Dragons Restaurant in Houston Chinatown often. The foods are excellent. The chefs willing to make special order of Cantonese style traditional Hong Kong chicken herbal soup, the fresh Canada dungeon crabs saute with garlic & onion Hong Kong style are so 😋 You should try it out at lunch, their lunch specials only less than $8.00 per order. Wow, great price !! TRY IT OUT !
I am Cantonese, and I approved! The food is so delicious and authentic! Plus, you can't beat the lunch special price! Lunch Special from 11 to 3 pm, only $7.85? Really? Good food with mall food court price? If you or your friend want to try what authentic Cantonese food taste like, come here! And order several dishes to share!
They took a while to seat us because it’s small and family owned. However, it’s the best Chinese food I’ve had in houston thus far.

This is a typical Chinese family restaurant, not your Americanized Chinese food. The restaurant is on the smaller side with less than ten tables. My friends and I went pretty late after typical dinner hours. When we arrived, only one table was occupied. My friend let me ordered the food. The portion was decent and my friends praised about the tastiness of the food. As for me, it was decent. If you want to try some authentic Chinese food, check it out. If you want Americanized Chinese food, this is not your place.

The food was okayish. The restaurant was busy and we waited 30 minutes for takeout. The beef wasn't tender, and the pork ribs were low quality and looked better in the pictures. The shredded pork was decent.

Got the gai lan, salt and pepper short ribs, and the mapo tofu. The gailan was good. The ribs were a bit too hard and chewy for me. The mapo tofu was not spicy and didn't have the Sichuan kick or look I was expecting. We came in around 4, and the staff were eating and ignored us until we asked if they were open
I ordered 2 spicy fried rice plates one with beef and the other one with extra veggies…. Tell me why I did not get the spicy nor the veggies !! Highly upset

We went to this restaurant for diner last night. There were only about 10 people dining in it. The food is not that bad. We were thinking about coming back. Then we saw the same lobster dish we ordered was almost half the size of the same dish on the other tables. Those people were talking to the owner of the restaurant in their native language. We will never visit this place again. If you do not know the owner of the restaurant personally, or do not know their native language, please do not go there. This restaurant seems to be their own diner place. They will share the food you ordered.
Would not give me any service, wouldn't greet me and completely ignored me, White American, definitely didn't feel welcomed so I walked out.
I’ve been coming here for a while now and the food is good but the service is the worst. The waitress, a short little Asian lady, is always complaining about doing her job and making faces. She never refills drinks and if you ask she complains in her native language. On tonight’s visit we showed up and asked for a table. She asked for how many and we told her 11. This has never been a problem. However, today she decided to laugh out loud and say no you can’t do it here. Confused, we asked do what. She proceeded to count the chairs at the table like we were dumb and say only 8 people can sit here. Because chairs can’t be moved… anyways, after years of coming here and having rude encounters with this same waitress we have decided to no longer buy from this place. I’m leaving this message so the owner can see it and have a conversation with this waitress about her rude demeanor. We ended up going to a restaurant down the street called, Banana Leaf, with great food and great service.
I ordered pan fried salty fish pork pancakes and they made an steam they insisted the holll Houston don’t make that they should let me know when I order it . I’m not coming back to this place.
Very disappointing experience here - Spoiler: THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE. We initially came for lunch with the place practically empty and had a decent meal. My family of 3 ordered 3 dishes and the wait time/service was fine. The food was not bad so we decided to order some food to go as well (3 dishes again) - This is where it all went downhill fast. We paid for both our dine in and to-go meals and was told to come back in about 30 min to pick up the food. So we headed to the supermarket next door to pick up some groceries. We show up 40 min later to pick up the to-go order and was told it was not ready (only 1 out of 3 dishes were done). Fine. We wait another 15 min and it’s still not ready. There were now 3 big parties in the restaurant (but we ordered our takeout before they all showed up). There were only 2 waitresses on the floor; both of which were suddenly not friendly. TLDR; It took AN HOUR AND A HALF for them to finally give us our to-go order. What’s appalling is that the waitresses refused to cancel/refund my order when I threatened to leave and went to go hide in the back while “checking on our food.” Also, NOT ONCE did they apologize for making us wait so long. They had the audacity to say that we should’ve ordered earlier before it got busy (which we did, proven by timestamp on my receipt). If I hadn’t already set expectations that I was bringing takeout home, I would’ve have just walked out and called my credit card to cancel the transaction. Would not recommend this place to anyone. There are way better options nearby. Also after reading past reviews, it’s sad to learn that the lack of service has been an issue for years and the owner simply does not care. Please do not support this business. The staff will be happier elsewhere.
Today, I met up with a few friends to eat at a restaurant for the first time because a friend recommended their lobster. We ordered two lobsters and a total of five dishes. While waiting for our food, the place was fully packed . A group of customers came in and asked the lady boss how long the wait would be, and she snapped impatiently, “Can’t you see we’re clearing tables? If you don’t want to wait, go eat somewhere else.” After eating for about 20 minutes, we asked the waiter why the crab was taking so long. The lady boss said we r making right now(must have forgotten ). While waiting, we told the waitress that the two lobsters didn’t have much meat. The lady boss stormed out, aggressively grabbed our lobster shells, and pieced them together to show us, saying that the lobster only has 2 pieces of meat in the middle. She even pointed to the table next to us, saying those customers had been coming for decades and never complained. After that, we lost interest in eating the crab, quickly paid the bill, and left. Overall the food is not bad. but the service attitude of the boss lady is NOT GOOD AT ALL
