Shish Kebab Cafe

Not sure why everyone is hating on this little restaurant. The food was amazing, flavorful and fresh the owner was courteous and had the food ready on time (had called ahead to get it) my only small complaint was that the rice was slightly oily. Otherwise will be back for more food

It's the first place we visit after every weekend trip, and it never disappoints.

Good food and the place on a Saturday night is run by one person. He is the cashier, waiter and chef. Nice guy.

Amazing food!!! I had to grab a quick bite for my lunch break, I needed something fast, healthy, affordable, locally owned business because that’s my value system I LOVE to support my community. Omg the lamb gyro was 5/5 10/10 couldn’t ask for better it was so good I had to come back and drop them a 5 star review, this is DAYS later guys.. Wonderful people very friendly.. I think I waited all of 2-3 minutes for my Togo order, the place was empty sadly!! This is my new gyro spot and I’m telling everybody about it! They should have more business. It’s so good. In 20 years never had bad service. Nice family owned place. Only once was the food not up to par but it’s only improved since then. So glad the Katy location is still great. Would love if they would start delivery with UberEats! We always order take out. One negative I have is that I find the rice a bit too greasy.

This place sells some of the most delicious food I've tasted in my life! I have visited several other restaurants with similar cusine, and it never fails that I am disappointed because they don't come close to this place. Hands down, this place has the best kabobs, rice, hummus, and shirazi salad that I've tried. My family and I have been customers for years, and will continue as long as this place stays open.

I love the shawarmas! Today i got the platter w rice & chicken kebabs. Always juicy & the garlic sauce is amazing. The hummus is homemade and so creamy & yummy. I love mixing the garlic sauce in the hummus.

It’s so nice that owners treat you like a person. I ordered a gyro to go. He asked if I wanted everything on it, and made it the way I liked it. It was hot, wrapped with the foil and paper, and he gave me plenty of napkins. The pita was nice and chewy, and there was so much meat from top to bottom that I am extremely full! If I had ordered it before, I would have saved half of it for later. For less than $8 it was a good deal, but it was on the house today. If you go, ask him about his unique heritage. You don’t meet a lot of interesting people like him. Thank you for a great experience.

I was just in Florida and was craving this food and no luck out there. Today I came in and was extremely happy with the food. The chicken was super juicy and fresh been coming here for a while and have never left this place disappointed at all. Yes I know alot of people will be upset with the guy but come on his a bit older and we all have to understand that. One thing is A1 and that's his food and that's what keeps me coming back.

This place feels like going to eat at your grandparents house, I love the food so much. The hummus is my absolute favorite to get and the salad with mint and cucumbers, onions tomatoes I simply can't get enough of. Fantastic 😍

Not a fancy place but the food more than makes up for it. No kidding their kebabs are better flavored than all the other Persian places in Houston. Their garlic sauce is also the best. It’s a mom and pop type place, and the food is legit. Best kebabs in the city!

An unassuming little hole in the wall. The owner was very kind and I could tell went back to freshly make everything since it was at an off hour. The chicken kabob has a nice mild flavor. The beef kabob had much more of a flavor punch. I was very happy with everything I received.

Medium beef kabob was juicy and delicious. However, they don’t provide regular forks spoons and knife although the food came in regular plates. You need to eat with plastic itineraries. The atmosphere of the restaurant is not that good. 4 star is for the beef kabob.

The lamb gyro and ground beef kabobs gyro were good, Meat was tender, the pita was soft, nice amount of sauce and veggies. The bread / pita on the side ( in the plastic wrap ) was dry, hard, old? The Feta cheese was good, the cucumber and tomato were fresh over chopped lettuce salad dressing. I believe the food is pre-cooked then reheated but the veggies / salad / cold stuff is served fresh No fries or fried food maybe fryer wasn't working? I Asked for 2 other things and was not available... 6pm it was empty when I walked in, a few mins after a Spanish couple came in and left didn't wait or order because there's only 1 guy working and wasn't at the front to take orders, he was preparing the food. 2 other people walked in 1 ordering, 1 called in or was picking up an order as I was leaving. Maybe it's different during the week? Or earlier in the day? To me It felt like he sold out of food for the day and was just open to sell the rest then close up. In a parking lot with a Randalls, target, IHOP, 3 or 4 other restaurants and restaurants up and down both sides of i-10, Katy asian town, fry Rd, Westgreen, Mason Rd too competitive and too many eating options to choose from to settle! the food wasn't BAD the gyros were good but service could have been better prices are about average IMO.

It’s incredibly frustrating to show up expecting a full menu only to find out that your choices are severely limited. Running out of nearly everything this far from closing isn’t just inconvenient—it’s poor planning. I genuinely wanted to like this place, but unless something changes, I won’t be coming back. Reliability and preparation are basic expectations, not extras.

Worst customer service and food the food was reheated in microwave no fresh and shawarma was really bad taste asking him do you have bread he was ignoring and wearing head phone if you talk to him he didn’t listen 🎧 to you and hope you all don’t try here precooked food it didn’t taste like freshness and yell on my son

I have been coming to this restaurant for some time. Over the years the service and food quality has declined. Today, I ordered the koobideh kabab with rice. It was obvious the food was cooked previously, placed in a Styrofoam box and heated in a microwave. Heating Styrofoam in a microwave can cause carcinogenic material to leach into food. I would not recommend ordering food from this establishment as the owner/operator does not cook food fresh and instead for his convenience causes his customers to be exposed to potential health risks.

A fundamental aspect of running a business is ensuring that customers feel heard and respected. Unfortunately, this is NOT the case at Shish Kabob. I was hoping for a simple, polite and understanding conversation about the food menu with the owner, an older gentleman, but instead of answering my question properly, he turned his back and walked away into the kitchen, completely disregarding my presence! So disrespectful and unprofessional!

Extremely rude owner. I got there with a group of 4 including kids, we sat down to look at the menu. There were 2 other groups seated and eating dinner. We were there for about 10 minutes, meanwhile the owner is looking over at us reviewing the menu. As soon as the two groups seated gets up to leave the owner tells we are doing only takeout orders. He could have told us when we stepped into his restaurant. Instead he waits till we are all seated and looking at the menu to tell us that. Keep in mind there were no signs either. You clearly are a loser.

Grilled kabobs only grilled on one side, but bland. No grilled onions as stated on the menu for the dish I ordered and rice flavorless and doesn't compliment anything. Humus watery and spoiled. Tabbouleh had a strong sour taste. Just an awful experience that I wouldn't recommend anyone else to waste their money on.

When the food finally arrived, it was bland and didn’t taste fresh at all. I even heard the microwave beeping when the food was ready. My lamb shank was definitely a reheated one. For a Persian restaurant, the food quality was well below average. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend Shish Kebob based on my experience.
