If you’re looking for some of the best bang-for-your-buck tacos in town, Tacos Tierra Caliente is the spot. This unassuming food truck delivers big flavor at a tiny price. The barbacoa tacos were juicy, tender, and packed with rich flavor. The pastor was also fantastic, with just the right balance of sweetness and spice. The fajita taco was decent, though not as memorable as the others. The service was friendly and fast. Just be warned: parking is pretty limited, so it’s best to grab your tacos to-go if it’s crowded. Overall, if you’re craving legit street tacos without breaking the bank, this place is a must-try.

Always delicious! Love the green sauce! The red sauce is good too, but is much hotter! I’ve been coming here for years, bringing friends to try the tacos and going across the street to eat them at the oldest ice house in Houston. IYKYK Perfect first date or meet up with friends!

I’ve been coming here for 20 years. Most consistent Taco Truck. Always open on time and they are fast. The quality of meat is great. You can buy a beverage at Sunny’s and buy the time you get back order is ready. Hint ask for Avocado or Pico no problem. Breakfast tacos in the morning are spot on as well! The chicken tacos are the bomb photo attached!

It might take a second to find parking, but once you find a spot, your order will only take a minute or two. Before you know it, you will have devoured your 3 tacos and will be craving more! I went with the chicken, barbacoa, and fajita (more of a grilled steak type), each with cilantro and onions— and i asked for avocado because of a review I’d read, but tbh, the avocado was unnecessary— and i wish i were here longer because I would eat those three tacos DAILY. run don’t walk, y’all. and hope you get there when it’s not busy. (somehow this Friday afternoon lunch hour wasn’t busy at all!)

Best damn tacos I’ve had in a very long time!! I’m originally from Phoenix, Arizona & lemme tell you this food truck hits the spot! 10/10 tacos and service. Would highly recommend as I’m one picky Mexican that loves good tacos with flavor!!

Honestly the food truck looks unfavorable but the tacos are amazing. They are true Mexican Tacos. The seasoning is great and spot-on. They are the best tacos I have ever tried out of Mexico. Be very careful with the salsas they are great but they are extremely spicy.🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 Unfortunately there is no place to park or sit so you will probably be ordering to go.

Food trucks are very well known in Houston to have delicious food, but this one takes the #1 spot in my opinion. The location is convenient to get to, even if the parking can be a challenge during certain times. I've been here a few times and had either breakfast & lunch. I've been happy with the food each time. My girlfriend loves Al pastor tacos, so we always make that one of our selections. I'm more of a breakfast taco kind of guy. Theirs seem to have a great balance of meat to egg ratio. The food isn't just the star of the show, the home-made hot sauces are delicious, too. The green is my favorite from the 2 offered & it's pretty hot. The red sauce is even spicier & has a bit of a smoky flavor, which good, but I still prefer the green over the red. No matter what sauce you decide to put on any of their tacos, it's going to be good. One thing to prepare for, they only take cash. Make sure you've got some on you & go fill your belly with some delicious tacos.

The pastor and pineapple taco was delicious! The steak taco is good too, the flavor is there, but could use a little more. My only complaint is the price, they taxing a lil in my opinion, but still four tacos will have you stuffed.

Surprisingly fast service and I was full after eating just 2 tacos 🌮 🙌🏽 🤤 This taco spot was great for when you’re hungry and want something fast. They give you these cute little buzzers to call you when your food is ready. This was my first time here and I was surprised with how fast the service was. Prices are reasonable. $2.50 a taco in June 2024. I’m sure the prices fluctuate with inflation. But for the quality of the tacos, the amount of meat they give you, plus getting full after eating two tacos, the prices was definitely reasonable. I ordered the barbacoa and it was a pinch salty for my palate. And the salsa was missing something. I didn’t get the kick from the spicy salsa. And both the green and red salsa were missing umami. Maybe it was missing garlic, tomatillo, or a bit more cilantro and salt? But overall, I’d definitely come back due to the portion size and excellent service. Thanks y’all! 🙌🏽

Tacos are good — not bad at all, especially for $2.50 each. My only issue is that they add a tip themselves without telling you. I don’t mind tipping at all, but it should be my choice. It’s more of a principle thing for me. If you’re going to add gratuity, at least let customers know. Just asking for the card and tipping yourself doesn’t feel right. I’m happy to leave a dollar or two — I just prefer to decide that myself.

Ordered a chicken quesadilla and this is what was served to me. Sloppy, soggy thrown together quesadilla. Maybe because im a black female i was served this. Zero stars. This is trash and I will never go back. Too many restaurants to settle for this.

The most bland, unimpressive tacos I've ever had in my life. I have no idea how they get all these good reviews when the meat was dry and completely tasteless; I had to DRENCH the tacos with salsa verde. Also, I deserve this, because I saw the photo of the jalapenos just sitting on the dirty floor of this nasty place, and I still came here and actually paid them money for food. Serves me right. Just awful.
